I would love to come back and see a full stage performance in this theater. There are plenty of ushers, a variety of seats, food and beverages, and parking nearby.

This theater is amazing. The staff is always on point and friendly and helpful. The inside of the theater is absolutely gorgeous. The concessions, our grate. You can actually get a sandwich if you really need to as well as snacks or treats and wine and other beverages. I've been buying my season tickets now 2 years And I prefer this theater above any other in the area, including the Ferguson, which it was an awful experience and the Chrysler in Norfolk, which is very nice. But I don't like the traffic and having to go through the tunnel. This is one of my favorite places to go, and the parking is so convenient.

The Altria Theater is nice for the most part. The only thing I don't like is that the seats are extremely too close together. Your knees basically be pressed up against the person in front of you. Definitely not comfortable but we do enjoy the shows that they bring to the area. Beetlejuice was great

Great show! Great sound! Beautiful theatre. Seats are squished together and little leg room. (I can't change my height 🤷🏻♀️)

Such a Beautiful theater! The employees were so nice and accommodating. As soon as we walked in there were several employees guiding us to the right sections. There was an attendant in the elevator making sure we were entertained on our ride and not overly crowded. The handicap seats were wonderful as my dad is a navy veteran and 6”4 so he enjoyed the extra leg room. My elderly neighbor had plenty of room with her walking cane and wheelchair, which she decided to leave at home. The handicap space had chairs that they moved to make room for the wheelchair, but since we didn’t bring it they allowed another gentleman to sit with us giving him more leg room as well. The only downside to the handicap spots is that there was a giant speaker blocking the right side of the stage. So we missed some of the dances that started in the back of the stage. Just be careful to not set drinks or food on the ledge. The watchful attended will come around telling you nothing is allowed in the ledge. We Did splurge on snacks and the popcorn was so good! Perfectly salted and very satisfying! Parking is difficult, we used the university parking garage and it was $10 but took us an hour to actually park with all the traffic. They really should have a traffic cop directing traffic.

It had been a while since my husband and I last attended a play at the Altria. The play, To Kill A Mockingbird, was excellent. We had a very positive experience. Lines moved quickly and we didn't have much of a wait. Because we sat in the Orchestra Section, we were able to sit in The Mary Morton Parsons Foundation Parlor before the performance. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. Our only issue was the small seats during the play. They are sooo close together and no leg room. I would pay more for better seats.
The theatre was beautiful. We loved the ceiling and the design in the theater - made it feel historic and classic. I would certainly come back in the future to see more performances! Very neat place and great downtown location.

I went to the Altria Theatre for the Katt Williams - The Dark Matter tour, and it was an absolutely sold out show. Which truly added to the atmosphere and the sound of the laughs throughout.
Overall the theatre has been kept in good condition considering it was likely last renovated some time ago. I would say however that it would be great if there were some updates made to add to the ambience and comfort of the venue and seats.
Both before and after the event there was strong security presence, which made the coming and going in and out of the venue much smoother and organized. This also helped a lot with feelings of safety in a large crowd.
