Sandwiches are misplaced. You may need to open a sandwich before purchasing as supposedly a vegetarian sandwich had chicken in it. Not a pleasant surprise.
The rudest staff of any Pret in the world. The woman behind the counter screamed at my daughter when she reached for a sachet.
9/10/23: Warning: New management, hires new staff, quality and customer service has gone down hill. I will give this branch a pass for a few months. I am sure that the company will fix this. In the past I encouraged my staff to go here because Pret gives food to the poor. I would not be surprised if this branch could care less about the poor because they do not care about regular customers.
I was picking up my coffee order just now, and these two lovely ladies opening the shop this morning offered a cup of hot coffee to a homeless guy outside their shop. This absolutely brightened my day and made me love them (who’ve always been super nice to me to begin with!) even more. Kindness goes a long way. I’ll be going to this location all the time.
The staff here were so nice and attentive it almost seemed like they were racing to see who could help me. Such great service, with a smile that seemed genuine from all the staff.
Love the food and convenience. Most of the employees are nice. One was just straight up rude. After getting my food, I went to the front to sit at the window. The employee then said something to the effect of ‘hello, please don’t sit here, I’m cleaning here.’ To be fair, when I walked up, they were cleaning by the garbage and not the tables. I did notice the tables were pulled out a bit, but assumed that was from a previous customer. I apologized, said I didn’t see a sign, and walked away. Then I heard him saying, loudly but to himself, ‘why would you sit somewhere where the table is pulled out! Can you not see I’m cleaning!’ Not sure if they are having a bad day or what, but it felt very unwelcoming and rude.
Location’s great. Staff is cool. The store is clean and the hours are reasonable.
But the 5/5 rating is for one of the baristas. His name is Jorel and he’s a true example of what old school New York hospitality means.
Case in point. Offered to watch my bags as I went into the restroom. Without prompting or asking. Not something I’ve experienced in a long time in NYC.
