Corrupt. Lack of integrity. Elitist. Fake. Malicious. Unaccountable. Frauds. Unknowledgeable. Deserve to be shut down and prosecuted.

I can show you the amount of neglect the Fairfield housing have done because of their ignorance. I have photos and neighbour and extended family that will back me up on this. I'm a private person, I respect my neighbours, and prefer to be quite little family with laughter. However, I don't know what who you hire but it's been 10+ years that I still have to sleep in the lounge room. Because of the plumbing problem that keeps continuing. And now is moving into my innocent son's bedroom. 16years living with this plumbing problem but Fairfield office continues to ignore me, they just do a little cosmetic and think the problem's solved. I was and STILL Disgusted by the maintenance involved. Even when sealing and painting the bathroom, the people never came back when they said they would. Now, I'm a single parent to a 18yr old now, probably living with some side effects of the mould, too. Don't let my only family have to live with it too. PLEASE do SOMETHING.

Just scrolling down the list of one star reviews, it sadly looks like I’m not alone.
When you read the Ombudsmans charter, it sounds like there really is someone in government there to hold rogue public and private organisations to account.
Don’t hold your breath!
These guys are worse than useless.
I filed a malpractice complaint against both the Health Care Complaints Commission, and the Podiatrists Council of NSW.
Talk about a total waste of time.
They will do anything to avoid doing their job, and seem to specialize in “fine print” and “definitional” excuses.
One day someone with the time and money will take an action against them for deceptive and misleading conduct, and from the look of all the very negative reviews, they will only have themselves to blame.

I wish there was a negative star option! The NSW Ombudsman is not just a toothless tiger. It's deaf and blind too! Complete waste of time when it came to investigating the unjust practices of Central Coast Council. I got a very vanilla template letter after speaking to a staff member who did not even know the facts of my matter. There should be a Royal Commission into the practices of the Ombudsman's Office because I think it is a complete waste of tax payers money and enables rogue councils and unjust practices. The auto replies that they have given to all the reviews here are another testament to their inefficiency. The Department needs a complete overhaul and they need to get rid of the dead wood staff waiting for their retirement or redundancy payouts. You are a public authority that members of the public rely on for just outcomes. Take your job seriously!

A Royal Commission to review the ombudsman is essential at this point. Look at how many negative reviews have been left. I personally have sent many emails and not even had so much as a decent response.

Very disappointing organisation when it comes to conducting investigations into Council behaviour. I have been informed previously that the NSW Ombudsman’s office is a `toothless tiger` and the plethora of on-line reviews by members
of the public further reinforce this sentiment. I now agree with those reviews.
s26 of the Ombudsman’s Act clearly states, “Where, in an investigation under this Act, the Ombudsman finds that the conduct of the subject of the investigation, or any part of the conduct, is of any one or more of the following kinds-- (a) contrary to law, (b) unreasonable, unjust, oppressive or improperly discriminatory they should investigate. I clearly articulated how a regional council in NSW had breached s52 of the Australian Consumer Law yet the Ombo's office decide to decline any further involvement contrary to their own legislative requirements.
If the Ombo’s office think that this type of behaviour is `above board` then heaven help consumers when it comes to obvious wrong-doing or `unreasonable` action by government departments. They are too busy telling everyone to address your concerns with ICAC or the Office of the Local Government ('OLG') and abrogate their own responsibilities. Their website is too busy telling you what they won't investigate rather than what they should be investigating.
A waste of taxpayers money, but what's new!
I also note the `generic` response to these reviews from the Ombo's office, although when you contact them, nothing changes. Useless!!
