The Art House

I've been a resident here since the beginning of 2021, and I've been witnessing the downgrade every year. Yes, you read the reviews correctly. They raise the rent fee with abnormal high fee every year, and on top of that they charge $30 monthly just for receiving packages and for the use of two tiny back corners with a BBQ stand by the noisy ventilators. For the rest of the amenities (tiny pool, tiny gym etc), you will get charged all separately or by bundle! See the latest review right below mine! To use the tiny 3.5 ft deep pool (which isn’t really a true pool since it’s just so tiny), it’s $500 per session without what they call the best bundle, which costs around $129 per month! If you want to avoid all these hidden and ridiculous costs, this is definitely not the place for you! One star for the great group of concierge just at the lobby.

We moved in a month ago and the experience has been horrible. Other issues aside, we consistently failed to get hot water in the apartment, especially at night. The water temperature varies between 118 degrees (in good times) and 85 degrees (in bad times).

Can you imagine having to take a shower with water below your body temperature when super tired from work / workout? Can you imagine making complaints to management multiple times and only getting fake answers? They sent supers to fix it but the issue keeps recurring. Funny part is I've never actually been able to talk to anyone over the phone or in-person.

So even if hot water is not your thing, consider the possibility of getting any help when you have other issues.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT move in here!

My boyfriend and I, we moved in since May of this year. To be honest, we have no issues with living in this apartment. Spacious room with big outdoor terrace. Friendly concierge. Always felt home when I walk into the apartment. My only issue is with the package room. Since we moved in to the unit. there were multiple arrangements with package policies which was not comfortable for us to adjust. I hope there’s no more changes with that. Besides that everything is great so far. If you’re looking for spacious, cozy place this is the right spot.

My wife and I lived in the Art House for 8 years. We initially chose The Art House because it had nice apartment layouts, good amenities and a great location. We also preferred to live in a smaller building as we were relatively new to Jersey City and thought it would be easier to meet people in a smaller building. This ended up working out better than we had ever hoped. We made so many friends in the building that people would say that it felt like the show Friends. We were constantly in and out of each other’s apartments, or getting together for Sunday Dinners, Holidays, or Birthdays on the rooftop. It started out as a few people being friends, and then we just kept adding more and more neighbors. Our annual Friendsgiving on the rooftop seemed to get bigger every year.

Overall, we really loved our time living at the Art House. The staff were terrific and when we’re in the area, we still stop by to say hello to our favorite doormen and catch up. Ultimately, most of our friends ended up moving out because they either bought houses, changed jobs, or had kids. In our case, we moved out when our second son was on the way. However, we are still in daily contact with our friends from the Art House and typically get together at least once a week. Now that a bunch of us have kids around the same age, they are all getting to grow up together. This building was the perfect choice for us. If you choose to move there, I hope that you make as many great friends and memories as we did!

The Art House is a boutique building that makes you feel at home as soon as you walk in to the door.
The staff always greets you with a smile.
Throughout the 9 years that we lived there, we were able to make great friends and to create an amazing community. Although many of us had kids and eventually had to find more space, we still see our friends from the building regularly. Overall, we had a great experience living at the Art House and we will always remember our time there as a wonderful chapter in our lives.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this residential building, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. When I walked in, I was greeted with friendly staff. The location is unbeatable, with easy access to shopping, dining, and public transportation. The apartment itself was clean, spacious, well-maintained, and the rooftop view was amazing. The building also has great amenities, which I would love to stay at.
