Getting there early in the morning provided excellent viewing for the herd on the open field. There were elk also in the water crossing, quite a few were accessible.

One of my favorite places in the smokies. Cool gift shop, clean restrooms, and awesome information about the area. The Rangers are always friendly. The elk show up in the afternoon and they are a sight to see for sure.

What an awesome experience this place was. My main reason to go here was to see the wild Elk, which we did! But the rest of the visit was just as magnificent!

Never let's us down. We arrived later in the day and the gift shop was closed but we were able to walk the trail and view the elk (the main attraction). Still stings to pay $5 to park.

Beautiful center with lots of good views. The elk are probably the coolest part of this area with loads of them around the park. Interesting historical farm with live animals still in the property. The visitor center itself has lots of history on the area and good resources for hikers.

Nice and Clean and has a decent amount of parking. We saw an Elk bedding down on a trail and then saw a group crossing the road. The rangers stopped traffic to let them cross.

Absolutely lovely! The volunteers are so sweet here. The park itself is enchanting.
The Smoky Mountain National Park has $5 parking passes and free admission... You can get them here, along with maps and stuff.
THERE ARE ELK, and they're lovely.
