The Deer Hunter (1979) scene where the boys drive over the bridge is here. Even with Google maps ,it took me years to find this place. I wanted to find it and maybe one day go there because it seemed so beautiful to me.

Right next to the boat, ramp is thunder arm beach is the water that you see from Diablo lake? Lookout, you can get down park. The car bring out your chairs a towel. Lots of families and get a nice swim. Also I want to mention that this park is absolutely free. No charge highly recommended. And one of the only parks in the nation for free, not too many people visit this park, so I highly recommend it as there was not a lot of people coming and it is a beautiful creation made by the universe.

Great place. Stay at the bank for a long time. If you can see sunset and sunrise here. I’m sure you will get great photo.

This is a good area to spend the day. Rocks everywhere, not really sand. Perfect for kayaking, paddleboarding or any non-motorized boats. You can get your own chairs and canopy and spend an amazing day. Water is very cold even on the sunniest day.
There is parking space which is shared with the Colonial Creek campground. It gets very busy. There is a special area to drop your boat/kayak for a few minutes.

One of the most peaceful spots here.
