Super 1 Foods

Purchased several items of fruit Friday. Apples in a bag, most were rotten on bottom. Peaches were brown inside. Container of strawberries, most were molded. This was in the Ruston, LA store.

I don’t normally do this but like most residents, my family and I spend a lot of money here. I have never had a problem with ordering cakes from the bakery until this past month. I had an incident a few weeks ago that cost me $70. I had ordered a cake for my daughter’s birthday. She even printed out a Battle Bots image on our home computer to be placed on her cake. When I got there to pick it up that Friday around 4, the image was not on it. I don’t why the image was not on it the first time since the girl who took our order wrote down my number in case they had a question. But I had NO calls from the bakery. They only wrote a big Happy Birthday with my daughter’s name on the first cake. Unfortunately I was in a hurry and didn’t have time to address the issue. Although I’m not sure if the bakery could have corrected their mistake easily and her cake still look right. That following Sunday, my daughter and I went to the bakery with another copy of the image, receipt, and bar code sticker in hand. They told me all they could do was refund $10. I was not a happy person. Then I had to buy another cake and make sure they used the image. I paid for 2 cakes both 1/4 sheet in a week. They could have at least given me the second cake for free after messing up the first order. That was not good customer service. If the bakery had any questions they should have called.

More expensive than Walmart but better qualities and the shopping carts ( 4 different sizes than all rolls freely) are easy to move unlike the only large ones at Walmart which requires that their wheels need maintenance, that is never done, it seems. And one has to park far away unlike the one at Super 1.

I have been shopping at Super 1 for the last 15 to 20 years and all of a sudden lately I have been coming in the store and the produce department is going DOWN ! they have started selling products from possibly new vendors that are changing the quality of the produce department I have found multiple items That has the rating number system on the products that starts with the number four and I have been told that that is not a good product. Some of those products are GMO I went yesterday to get cucumbers and whom ever they have purchased cucumbers from the whole bin was terrible. They were soggy soft irregular shapes. I went to get Roma tomatoes, and every last one of those tomatoes in the 2 to 3 bins were soft on the verge of going bad Nats all in them I went the other day and the watermelon bin that was in the produce department. I bent down to check a watermelon and nats just went all in my face. I called the produce clerk and told him that someone had busted a watermelon down in the bin and he said yeah that happens and I said well why don’t you just take the bad ones out and clean it , and you can tell he didn’t want to do it. It was an elderly Caucasian man, but he did it …the produce department is not like it used to be and it’s getting to the point where I’m going to start taking my business elsewhere and I hate to do that. I love Super 1 and I’m asking that someone please Alarm them to make a change and bring our produce department back to where it used to be

I just wanted to give a huge shout out to the ladies in the bakery. Due to Walmart canceling my order the day of, I came in super 1 looking for an already made graduation cake and although they didn’t have one, they offered to write on the cake I chose from the freezer and added graduation decor for free! They literally saved the day and my little kindergarten graduate was very happy! The cake ended up coming out super cute. I cannot thank them enough and will be sure to always place my orders HERE!

Ordered a cookie cake for a birthday. All I asked was there be “happy birthday pookie” and a cat somewhere on the cake…. They went above and beyond and truly made the cake of the receives dream! I can’t thank the bakery staff enough for doing an absolutely amazing job and being so friendly and nice!

Large grocery store with a wide selection of items including fresh flowers, bakery, and deli. Nice shopping carts for those with young children - safety belts work and cupholders. Coffee shop and Pizza Hut on site. Dry ice for sale. Clean bathrooms. Very close to interstate 20 exit.
