Friends Day Care

Our daughter was at friends daycare for two years and we cannot say enough amazing things about Lorna and the team- they set her up so perfectly for kindergarten. Everything from manners, social skills, literacy, a love of music.

I’m deeply grateful for the care and support Friends Day Care provided for my son, especially when he was dealing with a speech delay. Lorna and Rudy were incredibly supportive and made a huge difference in his development.

Their kindness extended beyond the classroom. When my husband had surgery and we faced financial difficulties, they were understanding and worked with us, which we deeply appreciated.

We miss the center and the wonderful team. Thank you, Lorna, Rudy, and everyone at Friends Day Care for your exceptional care and support.

My kids had an amazing experience at Friends daycare. Is the home away from home with gentle but firm approach. My kids looked forward everyday to go to daycare. Lorna, Rudy and Gareth take care of the kids like their own. It has a great outdoor play area and an amazing indoor space( filled with sun light) to run around in colder days.

Friends is a gem. My daughter has been there for a year and the staff are absolutely fantastic. Their approach to care and teaching is upbeat, gentle, and forward-looking for the development of each child. My daughter has made great progress under their care towards important milestones like potty training, counting and learning words, and improved social skills. She often starts talking about the people and activities she is looking forward to on our way there in the morning, and is thriving.

The grounds of the building are beautiful, with a flower garden and a large private back yard for the kids to play. My daughter loves the big sand box, and the way the center encourages active play and tactile exploration, like burying dinosaur bones in the sandbox to dig up, or taking snow in bins inside to play, or painting butterfly wings to wear as they run outside.

The center is on the second floor of one of Toronto's beautiful old buildings, with wooden banisters and red brick. The center is well kept, and they did a fantastic job with safety protocols through covid, adapting to different restrictions while keeping the supportive and cheerful spirit of Friends just the same. It has been a hard year, and it meant a lot to take my daughter into Friends' safe, joyful space each day. I look forward to Fanny or Lorna's hello in the morning, and checking in about how the day went with Mary when I pick my daughter up. I am so grateful we came to Friends when we did, and thankful to all of the amazing staff who have made it a place of such support and daily inspiration for my daughter and I.

I can't recommend Friends enough!

I wish I could give 10 stars. Jeff was the first person we spoke to and I have not met a kinder soul. Lorna, Rudy, and Fameeda- the other teachers at the daycare are excellent human beings and educators. I cannot say enough good things about the people of Friends daycare. They made all of us, not only my child, feel welcome and included at Friends daycare. They coached us through the transition process, how to handle separation anxiety, etc. Jeff even gave me tips on how to fly long haul flights with a toddler. They have adequate facilities, good location, and a spacious driveway. They are reasonably priced when you take into account their location and exceptional service.
On the last day of the daycare, I cried because it felt like leaving behind a family member. I would highly recommend Friends daycare to everybody and especially to anybody who is new to the country and parents who have a child who is starting daycare for the first time.

We met Jeff and Lorna in 2011 when my son Nuhail was enrolled there. We had a fabulous year at Friends Daycare before we moved to Mississauga. Now when we are looking for daycares for our younger one, we dont like any coz the bar has been raised so high by Friends Daycare. I dont know why I never wrote a review for them before, but they are the absolute best people we got to care for our son. Words cannot express our gratitude. If you are looking for the best quality childcare you will find it here at Friends.

We put both our kids in at Friends Daycare from 3 years old all the way to junior kindergarten. This is a small to medium size daycare with an intimate, homey atmosphere. The owners, Lorna and Jeff, that run the place are super nice people that we instantly liked and trusted and after 4+ years they feel like family to us. Daycare for a toddler and the parent can be traumatic but Friends made the transition much easier. The place is on the top floor of a converted large house... so it feels like a home away from home. There's a nice shaded backyard where the kids play and a expansive auditorium/room on the ground floor for their Christmas concerts and special events. We highly recommend Friends Daycare and can't say enough nice things about them.
