Amazing staff! They are always so incredibly helpful. You won’t find this sort of care from a big chain pharmacy. So, transfer over to them, trust me it’s worth it!!

The pharmacy staff is always very polite, friendly & fast!

I absolutely love Brookville Pharmany! The last couple of years there’s been a shortage of a few medications I take (& it’s somehow STILL not resolved), but Brookville always has some in stock. For one very hard to find (yet very widely prescribed) medication, they’ve been able to maintain a steady supply by limiting scripts to 45 pills.
Whatever your dose, they’ll only dispense 45 pills at a time. For some people that’s 2 weeks. For others, 3. It’s remarkable how well that has worked. Nobody else seems to ever have the medication in question available, but even though it doesn’t seem like this strategy would have much of an effect, it’s brilliant. Every 3 week for the last 16 months they’ve been able to provide a refill. Meanwhile other pharmacies never have any available.
“We got a shipment last week but ran out in only 3 days,” is usually what pharmacists at other stores tell me. Since some people take a fairly high dose of this particular medication, if their Doctor writes them a two months supply that might mean 300 pills. Capping the # of pills they’ll dispense regardless of your dose has worked like magic.
They’re also extremely knowledgeable and attentive & are excellent at answering questions. When your prescription is ready, they text you & always mention the number of different medications that are ready, which is extremely helpful. Parking can be a bit difficult- especially at rush hour - but there’s a Whole Foods & an Amazon Fresh down the block or across the street with plenty of parking - & while they’re usually not thrilled if you use their lot without stopping in for groceries, Brookville is usually pretty quick, so you might only be parked for 10 minutes if you’re picking up a prescription that’s ready. Both lots always have a bunch of empty spots so it really doesn’t inconvenience anyone.
Occasionally they can get busy and sometimes there’s a 10+ person line, but the staff does an excellent job of helping people in the most efficient order to keep things moving. A few reviews mentioned that the person answering the phone is impatient /.interrupts them / etc. They’re just trying to streamline things at what is a very busy pharmacy for a small business with only two locations. They don’t need your life story, & don’t appreciate lengthy explanations since the details really don’t matter & they’re almost always working hard to get things done, so if they interrupt you & ask for your name, it’s because that’ll tell them what they need to know.
I assure you they’re not rude or impatient. Perhaps a bit curt occasionally when they’re really slammed, but they’re just trying to keep everything moving efficiently so they’re able to help everyone whose doctors called in a prescription. Fridays can be really busy - especially right before a three day weekend, since they’re not open on Sundays & only from 9am-3pm on Saturdays.
They’re one of the last independent, locally owned, small pharmacies in DC left (a decade ago there were 4-5 small pharmacies with less than 3 locations, but in that time, the others went out of business. I personally don’t like using the pharmacy at Safeway or CVS or Walmart etc. The pharmacists are usually very impersonal or just really don’t seem to care very much. I’m so thankful Brookville is still alive and well. The pharmacist & other employees know me fairly well & always remember my name, which is a nice touch.
There’s a young woman that sells crystals just inside the front door, & she’d extremely knowledgeable about them if you’re into that kind of thing. It’s a nice change of pace to be sure. For a relatively small shop, they’ve got an excellent selection of over the counter vitamins, supplements, medications, & a wide variety of drug store essentials, & products that you probably need but only ever remember when you’re at the drug store.
5 HUGE STARS!!! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had a terrible experience here just now. I called to ask if a nearby pharmacy had already transferred my prescription to Brookville. An older man picked up the phone and said, "How can I help you?" I began to explain my situation, and after just 5 seconds, the man interrupted and yelled: "WHAT IS YOUR NAME?" I immediately hung up. I was shocked by how quickly he lost his temper.
I cannot trust someone so rude and impatient to handle my prescription. This would have been my first prescription at Brookville, but after this experience, I definitely won't work with them anymore.
And shame on him, too, because what if I was an elderly person or a person with an intellectual or speaking disability? Would he have lost his temper the same way?
Be kind to others.

The young woman with the dog selling crystals was amazing. I had been receiving so much negative energy at work for weeks. I put the quartz she sold me in front of my laptop and all the negativity stopped! Anytime I have a Zoom meeting I just put that quartz between me and the screen and you can feel the vibrations change. Amazing. Her dog had a celestial aura and I'm growing my Chakra too. So grateful.

I love this pharmacy! They all know me and I feel such at home when I go in... The front desk lady (I forgot her name) is the absolute sweetest ever I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else. Allen and all the pharmacist are amazing

I desperately needed a not so common medicine same day after cvs dropped the ball and didn’t get my prescription in time. Brookville pharmacy stepped up and completely saved my day (and my week) so I won’t be in miserable pain. They filled my order in a couple minutes so I had it in time for my doctors appointment. Highly recommend them
