Chartley Castle

Nice view

How absolutely absurdly ridiculous that you cant visit it. I hate that the government allows landmarks to be offlimits like this. I assume it's on someones land and that person is such a nasty sort as to not make it accessible..

Just goofy and makes no sense..

Love driving past this castle. I've researched about it and how it was. Just think of the stories it could tell. Such a beautiful piece of history. Set in an idyllic location. Love it when the sheep are in the field too.

Place was fun in the 1500s. Sad to see it an attraction now getting “google reviews”.

One cannot visit the ruins.

You can't visit the castle except on special tours, it's a shame but that's how it is. You can see the castle from the road but there is nowhere to park

NOW OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!!!
(If you don’t get caught trespassing and manage to park anywhere nearby and are excellent at jumping barbed wire fencing and manage to cross the field full of “hungry for gore” bulls).
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED my better half gave this evening adventure an eleven out of ten rating.... “this is the best castle we have ever broken into, this week”
