This is actually a gem for a person who loves to spend quality time at museums. Entrance is free, unless you want to see a special exhibition. It's spacious and very relaxing. The staff is very friendly.

nice exhibition of kusma pictures and statues, and other pieces. If you like modern, unconventional, art then this is a must. It's interesting to everyone, kids included.
a bit crowded, but everyone moving quietly,
note: if you have a big bag you need to put it in storage before you enter.

First time interstate visitor to view the Kusama exhibition, with infinity polkadots. Part 2 was better than part 1. Fantastic space to view small and large art pieces. Clean, modern toilets. Cloak room required for all backpacks. Fabulous gift shop but surprisingly no actual prints I could find to purchase (but a lot of everything else - mugs, pencil cases, hats…)

I love the National Gallery of Victoria. The free exhibitions are a wonderful way to spend the weekend! My personal favorite is the European collection. I believe it's a must-visit when you're in Melbourne.

The national gallery of Victoria has a lovely array of modern contemporary art, each room is a pure delight. I love renaissance art or art from around that period so this place challenged me in ways that were both good and bad. I really enjoyed viewing art in the modern area from a different country, the context is completely different from European art.

I came here to learn more about Australia, to learn more about the aborigines, the Europeans that settled in Australia. Art is a great way to learn, inform, expose certain things about a community and I felt that I understood Australia a bit better than I did before.

Each room is so clean, curated in a way that feels nice and open. The staff are incredibly nice, they had a smile on their face and were always there whenever I needed help. I arrived in the morning and left late in the afternoon, that should tell you how vast this place is. If you're a lover of architecture, you'll love this gallery, it's a really nice space, filled with light and openness.

If you love art, architecture or you want to have coffee, come to this place you'll love it 😊

The National Gallery of Victoria has impressive collection of artworks ranging from classical to contemporary. The architecture is stunning, and the exhibits are thoughtfully curated. The iconic water wall at the entrance adds to the charm. A great place to spend a few hours exploring culture and creativity.

The National Gallery of Victoria is a must-see if you’re in Melbourne! Lots of free exhibits with exceptional art. It’s perfect for escaping a hot Australian day and really getting into some beautiful pieces. There was zero wait times, no lines, and tons of space to enjoy yourself. Highly recommended.
