It’s ridiculous you have to wait 1 hour for your luggage at alarmist 12 am at night!
I know the security system sucks but this is just ridiculous and annoying!

Probably the worse airport in the developed world. I can only imagine how horrific the Management must be. A guarantee of delays, incompetence and bad mood whenever you have to travel through this mess.

the real negative note of this airport is the staff at check-in and gate entry controls. They speak a bad English often incomprehensible seasoned with rudeness. Surely there are also valid and welcoming people, but those we met all behaved rudely and sufficiently.

4-500 people in line for baggage check in. 2 out of 7 counters manned. An hour later, one of the open counters closed.
Personnel running constantly picking out people that are in risk of missing their flights. Last year I had to be extremely firm for being allowed to cut the line after 2hrs in line and I made it to my flight with 2 minutes to spare. They haven't improved!

Arrived was good and here a lot of options!

Sadly had the same experience as most of the reviewers: apart from one, staff are experts displaying their disinterest in helping or understanding customers. Started with having to wait for 30 minutes until the bridge was brought to the plane: no ground staff available. Continued with outdated displays for luggage delivery (no motes on waiting time). Displays not updated once in about an hour and a half. No communication at all regarding delay of luggage delivery. The one helpful employee found out that the ground handling staff of @Aviapartners were having a “Betriebsversammlung” (staff meeting) WHILE passengers from several flights waited for more than that hour and a half for their luggage. Armes Deutschland.

Big and clean but security methods are a shame

We had a flight from Budapest to Düsseldorf via Hamburg. In Hamburg we had to take another plane, so we did. Our luggage should also have go automatically with us to Düsseldorf, unfortunately it did not. It took us five days to get our luggage back, while the luggage was already the day after our flight at our arrival point (they sent it with another plane within 24 hours to Düsseldorf). Due to the slow handling at Düsseldorf it took more than 4 days before our luggage was deliverd at home. The delivery at home was also a disastear. They called just 30 minutes before delivery: "hey, we are at your home adress within the next 30 minutes". We did not even know they luggage was coming that day, no communication before at all. The only thing you get is updates in an online application and it is not possible to get in contact with a person because no phone number of Ground Handling is working.
Bad service, no phone number to call, no response on emails. In the end the luggage is back, but some contact during these days would be really fine!
