Pavilion

Lovely little covered area where events are frequently held. Most nights, someone is kicking a soccer ball around. Right across from the fountain, so there’s some pleasant background noise.

Reston Pavilion used for gatherings and activities around the year. They have concerts, gatherings and events throughout the year. They have an ice rink and decorations during winter.
Fun place with food, ice cream shop and various activities all around.

Beautiful place for small kids to play. What I don’t like is sometimes teenagers playing soccer there. It’s very dangerous for young kids to play on the same grass field.

The Pavilion at Reston Town Center is a multi-use space that varies its activities by season. I recently saw a free live concert there for a Beatles tribute band, Hard Day's Night (part of the free summer concert series on Friday evenings, "Reston Concerts on the Town"), and the atmosphere was lively and fun. There is ample space to sit on the astroturf under the Pavilion, but there is also space to sit on the astroturf outside it. The acoustics are fantastic! The Pavilion is close to several restaurants and shops, including the beautiful renovated Mercury Fountain. You could hear the music from a couple blocks away, so I recommend finding somewhere comfortable to sit to enjoy the show. For parking, the Blue Garage is nearby and is accessible on Library St. FYI: all parking garages in Reston Town Center are free on weekends and free for the first hour, then after 5p on weekdays. There is also limited paid street parking with separate free times. All other times, you must pay to park.

UPDATE: I just saw another group perform here (Unity Reggae band) and enjoyed another great experience, even with the Summer stormy weather. I ordered takeout from a nearby restaurant and brought it to where my partner and I were sitting - perfect!
