NOT A RECORDING STUDIO! They rent the space as a recording studio when it is not allowed to play any kind of live music in the space. You end up renting and bringing all your equipment here and the other tenants in the building will interrupt you continously as this is not meant to be a recording studio. It is not acoustically isolated, the rules of the building do not allow to make this kind of noise, and it is an activity which does not work with the rest of the buildings occupancy. You will be interrupted all the time and are wasting your money if you rent the space out to record any kind of music.

The team at The 9 Studios have been exceptionally helpful and responsive to every members needs and requests. The studios are bright, airy and clean and the other members have all been very warm and welcoming (and helpful with tips when needed). I would suggest anyone looking for a friendly and professional space for photo/video/event needs check out this place.
One of the best studio's in NYC. Very professional and responsive staff. Great location, great gear, easy to work with, easy to book. Huge space and near all the subways. Highly recommended.
That’s studio is pretty big and it has all the equipment that you need. Sometimes is nice to bring your own. The places is clean huge. They have speaker and good lighting for the shoot but adding more light is most recommended. Bathroom and room changing area is provided as well. We throw an event here that went very successfully. My photography career has skyrocketed since joining The 9. The owners are super awesome to work with. The space is always clean and organized before every shoot. There are tons of options and multiple studios you could shoot from. The possibilities are endless. No matter what you’re shooting you’ll be covered. Every photographer should have a studio to call home. The 9 Studios is my home.
I've been a member at The 9 Studios for about 4 years now and would definitely recommend the space to any photographer looking to have access to spaces for personal projects/ client work on a budget.
Both Matt and Charlie are very responsive and fair when dealing with members. Matt is always available with anything concerning the Brooklyn location and I've been really satisfied with the way the studio has evolved from a single location in NoHo a few years ago.
You can't find a more convenient option in the city!

An ok space at a budget price. The 9 studios is a average studio space that is suffering from neglect and equipment maintenance issues. The studio space was in fair but dirty condition with "most" equipment to be functional. Expect EQ issues and bring your own lighting if you are doing paid work. In the end you get what you pay for with the 9 studios.
