In town visiting from ATL on 6/14 and again today to try different items that we like from yesterday. We really like their flavors of all the dishes. Yesterday we had the fillet with black bean sauce, string beans, and intestines. Today we try the duck, bei fun tong fillet and string beans as my favorite veggies. All are great. Really surprised that this place not busy during weekdays. Will definitely recommend if one looking for Cantonese style Chinese.

Parking is in the back and you can enter from the back too. When I first arrived, we parked in the back and walked to the front thinking the door facing the parking lot was the kitchen entrance. 😅

There's not a lot of places that serve jellyfish salad nowadays without a bunch of filler ingredients. Ho Kee delivers! It's a huge portion.

I also got the wonton noodles which hit the spot. Ample amounts of wontons and the noodles taste as you expect. The BBQ pork was a tad dry but the flavors were there.

There were a lot of flies in the restaurant, and we got their attention the whole meal since we came at an odd hour. ):

If I'm ever in the area again, I'd like to come back and try more dishes! Unlike a some of the reviewers, I specifically put this place on my list as a visitor!

The restaurant is actually very stylish and spacious. The staffs are nice and helpful. However, non of the dishes we ordered taste to my standard. I would say 6 out of 10. The pork belly is too sticky, the cucumber smells wierd, the bean tastes nothing, and some other dishes didn't stand out at all. The taste is not worth the price. We still left good tips for their service though. They should work on their food taste.

The rating is based on 2 dishes:. 雲吞牛肚麵,車仔麵

1. 雲吞牛肚麵: pleasant surprise. The wonton uses 大地魚粉 to marinate, 大地魚and 麻油are what make Winton tasty. That's the HK style wonton. However, because the proportion of meat is much less than shrimp (which many people like), not enough 大地魚and麻油flavor. I recommend them to put in more meat and little bit less shrimp then the flavor will be more robust.

The noodle is really good. I didn't try to let it sit, most wonton noodle get soggy after soak in the soup for a while. I finished the noodle in 3 mins to enjoy the crispy/彈牙 texture.

車仔麵: 牛柏葉too much Ginger if you don't like ginger, the rest are ok

Like most of the people who visited this place for the first time, we are regular from other Ho Kee restaurants throughout San Gabriel Valley. We had passed by this place many times but never went in. After seeing a few reviews on YouTube, We thought it’s time for us to give it a try.

Besides offering similar menu as the other Ho Kee, this place offers unique customized combination of noodles and toppings. It tries to mimic the street foods of Hong Kong in the old days where noodles were served from carts. Dining here does bring those memories of the old Hong Kong movies street scenes.

The noodles were good and authentically Hog Kong style. The noodles we ordered were flat noodle and we topped it with beef brisket. The combination was perfect in flavor and texture. The beef brisket we tasty and tender. We also had our favorite street food - fried rice noodle with shrimp and smooth eggs. The noodles were pan fried to full of wok Hei and the scrambled eggs were smooth. This dish gets our vote as one of the best in LA.

Overall, its worth a try as this place distinguishes itself with varieties of noodle options and provide a nostalgic environment for those people who are carving for the old street food of Hong Kong.
