Amazing nature in the center of the city. Was a peaceful walk around the garden to appreciate the pond and the wildlife. We came upon the place unexpectedly, but were pleased by our visit. It was a leisurely walk with many places to sit and enjoy. Even on a tight schedule this place is worth 30 minutes to wander, sit and enjoy
A quiet haven right next to Darling Harbour. Birds, koi and lizards were unexpected and added a fun dimension to the walk around.
Easy to follow paths and some small niche areas to explore. Amazing plants and a waterfall all added to this visit. Noting that it's not for the mobility impaired, walking paths uneven and stairs aplenty.

I've been here multiple times. If photography is your thing I'd go as late as you can. The garden closes at 5pm. Then the light will be better. This time i went during the middle of the day. Light is harsh, but you can get nice spots of shade.
As far as a place to relax, it depends on how busy it is. It's possible to find a quiet spot, but try and stay clear of the tearooms, the area there gets noisy.
It felt like the gardens need a little clean up too. I remember the upkeep a few years back was better..But again, they are doing some renovation in one or two places at the moment (Oct. 2023).
It's still well worth your time to visit.

Very interesting Garden, chinese style, with paths where you can find explanations for the rocks and the buildings found. All of them have a meaning. You also can admire the nature, plants and some interesting animals like big lizards and turtles. They are all around, near you. Depending on what you want, one or two hours are enough for the visit.
What a beautiful slice of green in Sydney City. The garden and path is so well structured and thought out to disrupt the developed feel of the surrounding area. Many beautiful plants, lots of Koi fish, gorgeous waterfalls and lookouts, many picturesque places to take photos. It was awesome to see so many healthy looking water dragons around, quite fearless of humans. Stopping for a pot of herbal tea was a lovely way to finish.
The Chinese Garden of Friendship is an absolute gem that should not be missed. Nestled in the heart of Darling Harbour, it's an incredible oasis of natural beauty. From enchanting wild lizards to the majestic large koi and the lush, meticulously cared-for plants, every corner is a visual delight.
Moreover, the restaurant within the garden is a culinary treasure. The high-class service and attentive staff create a welcoming atmosphere, and the food is nothing short of delicious. It's a perfect complement to the tranquility of the garden, offering a complete sensory experience that lingers in memory long after the visit.

A beautiful little garden in the city. Rich with amazing photo opportunities and to see some nice Chinese architecture.
Could benefit from some more paintings along some of the walls, given many white walls are left blank and quite barren.
The views from the various perspectives of the park does make for some nice picturesque views. Overall a good experience worth checking out.
Also cool to see some friendly lizards around the place!
