I was taken by ambulance to Alvarado hospital because they have to take you to the closest hospital. I loved it at Alvarado hospital I wish I could find a doctor and go there. Palomar transferred me to Escondido to the big monstrosity that was so poorly designed. I never saw a doctor. I was there for 2 weeks and no one would tell me what my diagnosis was. I collapsed at home and called 911.
After 2 weeks they told me they were transferring me to a rehab center which is actually a rest home. Palomar Vista rest home.
I arrived and almost choked to death from the smell I think sprinkled carpet cleaner that smells like floral. I think this place was built in 1930. They had some people on mattresses on the floor and the woman in my room was in shambles. The whole place was in shambles. I tried to call the nurse's button and it fell out of the wall. So I went to the bathroom and the toilet was so small it looked like it was for a 2-year-old. The bathroom was tiny shared by two rooms Jack and Jill. The call button was a shoe string tied on a toggle. So I pull that and it fell off. All the medical equipment was broken and taped back together with duct tape. I asked them when my medication would arrive and they said when it got there. Everyone seemed very mad. There was a sliding glass door next to me but I couldn't open it because it didn't have a screen. I watch some people sitting on a brick wall smoking crack behind this rest home.
This rest home is directly behind the old Palomar hospital on Fig Street. I do not know how that place can even exist it's horrible. The owner walked in and told me my medicine arrived and handed me two pills which I had no idea what they were. But they were not my medication.
I told the man I was going to sign out AMA. He seemed shocked and would not do it until I really insisted. I have the right. He told me my husband wouldn't come and get me. He was wrong I had my cell phone and I got him on it.
The people in this rest home must not have any relatives or friends because nobody would leave anybody in a place like that.
It was like a third world country.
They have a web page and an ad.
It's all lies. I took pictures with my cell phone.
No one there could even tell me my diagnosis.
It turns out my diagnosis was sepsis. From bladder infection I didn't know I had. I really feel next time I go to the emergency room or a hospital I will die.

NEVER EVER take your loved ones here if you care and love them. Encourage them to wait the extra drive. Bringing them here you are placing their life in hands of unprofessional, uncaring, unsympathetic, disgusting people who don’t even want to be at work it feels like. All the reviews I can confirm are 100% correct. And the only good ones I can bet my life on that they’re family members of workers there. PLEASE DONT EVER BRING A LOVED ONE HERE! Wish I could give 0 stars! One or two good doctors can’t make up for 1000 horrible doctors, nurses, techs, security/staff members. Take care everyone , and avoid this place at all costs. The nurse is called Sonia. And she has a snarky disgusting attitude. Can’t believe shes helping pregnant women.

Came to Palomar hospital at 40 weeks pregnant with spotting and cramping. As a first time mom of course that was rise for concern. I had nurse Sonia, from the start her attitude was unprofessional haggling my husband for initially giving her my married last name as a posed to my maiden name (shown on my ID), insisting that “normally he wouldn’t be allowed to come in for giving the wrong name” although I was right there and explained the situation. And it didn’t end there, she talked about it for about 5 mins how he needs to learn what name to give the hospital. The unprofessionalism continued with her attitude throughout the visit making me feel like I shouldn’t have even made the trip to the hospital. She asked me, “are you spotting or bleeding?” I said spotting, and in a salty attitude she said “well then that’s normal.” Then continued to ask me more questions one of which if I was having contractions. Again I’m a first time mom so I don’t know what “real” contractions feel like so I continued to explain what I was feeling and all she had to say was “but are you having contractions?” Almost pressuring me to say no rather than explaining to me what I would be feeling. Her entire demeanor was just disgusting and just made me feel like I was over reacting. Before I left as I was getting my paperwork Sonia made it a point to repeat herself twice, to only return when I’m in “real labor”. The only reason I’m giving my experience 2 stars was because of midwife Michelle. She came in with a bubbly personality and helped me further understand what was going on. Such a shame that a beautiful hospital like this is full of sour nurses who hate their jobs.

Mom came here for emergency. Good emergency surgeon but some of the staff are super nice but there were some were a bit on the snarky side. Heavy security staff at entrances. Gimme Scripps Green any other time.

Just like the small Rehab facility next door, this place has the same security company placing folks at the door who either hate their job, hate military members, or some other sad reason. I feel the next step are strip searches at the door. I am not John Wick and the plastic pen will not set of your magical wand. The hand sanitizer does not contain anything different than what the hospital has, and, believe it or not, will NOT set of your little wand. Those rent a cops need to be replaced with decent folks.

My mother is a patient in this hospital and said that the transporter that took her to get her scan done was very rude and kept hitting her bed in different corners which gave her more anxiety than she is already dealing with. I found out who it was through many phone calls after several tries and his name was Giovanni. If you guys have family members that go to this location make sure he is not their transporter !! Don't take your loved ones to this hospital overall! The workers clearly lack organization and communication and it is a hassle until something finally gets done here.

I have not looked at any of the previous reviews but I have to say that I, as well as my family, found the services provided to me were beyond any expectations. Last month I had open heart surgery here and Everyone took care of me from the moment I was received (I did not have to wait since I was having a heart attack at the time) until I was released. The E.R. blew me away with all the up-to-date equipment but then the Team started their thing and I awoke with the breathing tube being removed from my throat while someone was explaining to me what was going on. I did have a problem that first night after the surgery with a person in intensive care who was not attentive to me, though we were supposed to be 1:1; it was a tough night with pain, nausea, reaction to pain medication and an air bed which enhanced my nausea and made be fearful of vomiting with arteries recently grafted to my heart. The woman could have been more empathetic .... I will not allow one person to affect my entire experience here.
I was transported the next day to the cardiac ward and remained there until released. Each day I was felt totally attended to by various professional nurses, aides, technicians, and physicians. I almost could have felt I was in a quality hotel except for the wires & tubes attached to me. I remember a few staff I would like to thank: nurses - Kim, Perla, Kathleen and Shay as well as therapists Sierra, Noah, Jen. There were others who were kind and attentive but I cannot remember their names. Dr. Lin was my surgeon and I could not have had anyone better! Explained everything before and after surgery and is considered one of the best in the "Business" of renewing heart systems.
Anyway, thank you Palomar Health for taking care of me and allowing my family to be a part of my care. I would never hesitate to refer Palomar Hospital to any and all family and friends.
