Have to hire a trolley for luggage. Cost is $4. Tried 2 trolley hire machines and both would not accept cash notes after trying multiple times. Note would not even load into the machine. Forced to use a card. Good luck to anyone who has no card or incompatible card. What a waste of time. Frustrating and embarrassing experience. If they really cared about customer experience, trolleys should be complimentary. After taking trolley to car, I could not see where to return the trolley nor any signage indicating where to return. I saw other trolleys haphazardly left next to pillars right next to parked cars. So left mine there as well. Even the most run down shopping centres have trolley return bays and signage. But not here it seems. Not impressed.
If I could rate it zero, I would. Security screening is awful, the staff are always cranky, impatient & rough with people’s belongings - I understand it gets busy and a lot of people are oblivious, but at least be respectful of others belongings and adjust your communication for the people you’re talking to. The food places shut whenever they feel like it, every time we come here they’re shut or trying to close, we got there at 7.15pm and the “food court” was completely packed up. Why even have food places? Drop off and pick up areas for cars has always been a nightmare, but it’s definitely gotten worse since they “fixed” it. Coming to Brisbane Domestic airport is always a sucky time.
There is nothing worse than flying into BNE and waiting in a taxi queue only to get the “minivan”. They never get out to assist and they rattle and are loud. There is no where to put your luggage. The taxi marshall saying “don’t worry it’s the same price” doesn’t help, they should be half priced!
Shops within are great! Witchery, Peter Alexander, Mecca, pharmacy and Mimco just to name a few.
Virgin bag drop in is terrible! It’s hardly a quick bag drop. Essentially you have to line up as if you’re checking in again. Such a waste of time and pointless.

Considering the heavy foot traffic, it is much better than most domestic airports I have been to. It has a decent amount of shops and restaurants. The restaurants are varied enough for you to have enough choices in what you want to eat. Most tables in the food court have easy access to power outlets.
Efficient and serviceable. Pickup location is not clearly signposted from within terminal as well as access to this area (3 roads over from terminal, but fenced off for limited access).
