Great recreation path. Trail is entirely paved. The path is not that wide. See picture. Lots of scenery along the way. Lots of road crossings.

I've been using this trail now for 20 years and it's always a new adventure. It's an amazing well maintained trail and always a wonderful experience. There's everything you could ask for; Ponds, Wetlands, The Ocean, Dunes, Hardwood and Conifer Forests, Cranberry Bogs and Marshes, and historic little towns and villages.
And if you're hungry there's also so many great little spots right along the trail. There's almost too many to mention. We always love stopping at Guapo's and Breakwater Fish and Lobster Market in Brewster. There's Rock Harbor Grill (Great Pizza!!), Orleans Seafood Fish Market, Hot Chocolate Sparrow in Orleans. In Harwich there's the Seal Pub and Cafe. And in Wellfleet there's PB Boulangerie Bistro. Plus there's many many more in walking distance from the trail.

This was a great experience with my family. We first started the day getting a bikes at the rail trail bike shop in Brewster and headed north towards Orleans and did about 4 mi and turned around, and then we headed south towards Dennis and did about another 4 miles and turn around.

Along the way we stopped at JT's restaurant for lunch in Brewster. I kept convincing the kids that we would go to a ice cream shop and that's what kept them motivated to keep on peddling. The trails are fairly flat and very small lengths that you have to go uphill.

Most people are very good with the bike rules however you have to make sure that you let people know that you're going to be passing on the left side.

Nice bike trail but lots of at grade street crossings you really need to pay attention to. Also, there are some significant bumps along the trail where you'll need to be certain you're safely hanging onto your bars most of the time. Otherwise very pleasant and reasonably flat.

I wish we had places like this where I lived. The scenery that you encounter on this trail is amazing. They keep it so well maintained and it feels so safe.

The trail is fairly easy to travel via bicycle, not many inclines. My 12 year old and myself did it and he didnt complain once. So many places to stop along the way

I've been on other rail trails in other states and this is By Far the Nicest and best kept trail I've seen.

A must do when in Cape Cod. So well maintained and you'll see wonderful flowers along the way, at least during the summer. See the pic for one of the lovely views!
