Hofburg Palace means 'Castle of the Court' originally built in the 13th century. Massive grounds with other monuments such as Column of Pest, the statue of Emperor Franz I, the Heldenplatz and St Michael's Church within the compound. Unesco Heritage Site. Worth a visit

I cannot say anything that has not been said already about this amazing building. I was to impressed with architecture of the outside of this building that I did not take the time to go inside. It is not possible to capture what your eyes can see in a single picture. It is absolutely stunning. This is an absolute must to see and to get the full experience the Hoftburg has to offer you need two days to enjoy it all.
Thanks Mark for an amazing tour, it was informative and funny)

A beautifully picturesque waste of space.

It is impressive to see the scale of it all in person. It looks fantastic from the air, contrasting with the uniformity of Viennese buildings, but provides no real use. There are no trees for wildlife to make it a home. No fish in the fountains. Just a tightly-manicured, uninhabitable desert.

This is the small tower of the Stephansdom, the one with the cyan copper roof. Funnily enough, it provides a better view of the city than the North tower because it isn't covered.

The view includes details on the cathedral's roof that you can't see from the ground, and most of the city (except for what is behind the North tower). You also get a closer look at the intricate details on the aforementioned North tower.

Getting up (and down) the tower is done via lift and is very fast.

I really enjoyed this museum and learning more about Empress Elizabeth (Sisi) I did the English guided tour and you could tell that our guide really enjoyed talking about the subject and he made it fun to learn more and also Kinda show us what to look out for when we were walking through the rooms before we even started so that made it really nice since some of the rooms got to be a little tight and it was hard to See everything or it took a while to get to the front to see the item. I’d say this is definitely a tour that’s worth doing especially if you like this time. And learning about old Kings and Queens;Or this case an emperor and empress.
This was the main summer residence of the Habsburg rulers. The area is huge and well maintained. To go inside no tickets are needed but if you want to go to the palace ticket is there but approx 2 hours of waiting time is there. Best part is the well maintained garden and the zoo.

We are kind of mixed with review. We found the price of the tours somewhat overpriced for the time and what was able to be seen in the palace. The grounds are very nice and have some very pretty features. Be sure to get there first thing in the morning if buying tickets on site. We would recommend pre-buying if you know your plans.

I didn't go inside, but the building's design and the view are really impressive and enjoyable, even from the outside. The architecture catches your eye, and you can still appreciate its beauty without entering.
This palace is absolutely beautiful to explore, and you can take a walk all around it. The fountain there is really pretty too, adding to the charm.

It was my second time visiting the palace though we remained in the gardens without visiting any of the rooms. Highly recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time and downloading the app. The weather was phenomenal so there were people walking, exercising and enjoying the beauty. We lived the labyrinths and followed the app walking suggestions to take in the sculptures and photo ops.
Probably the nicest palace in Vienna! Tickets are required in advance with a specific entry time.
The interior of the palace is very nice, although no pictures are allowed.
We had the classic pass and I believe the normal would be enough. It included the privy garden and orangery (which I did not find worthy), the mace, etc.
For the whole place, including the gardens, you may need 3/4h.
Absolutely stunning.
The grounds are free and definitely worth while. One of the most stunning places on earth. 5-6 stops and 10 minutes via the underground which costs a few euros.

Wish I could have spent more time. You need at least a few hours to fully enjoy it

The view from the top is amazing. The one problem there no lift, so you need to go to the top by your own, it's a bit challenging.
Beautiful church, we skipped the hike by the way. I am sure the view from the top would have looked amazing but it's equally amazing inside and the surrounding. It was very busy It didn't matter what time we had gone. Beautiful church and beautiful location. Definitely recommend.
At first they said that we have to wait 4 hours to enter the palace. The second day I was in no mood to go there at all and the tickets were also very expensive. My partner likes to go there and has already bought tickets. When we were there we saw it and listened to all the stories behind each room, each painting and everything. I thought then great, it was great to hear my partner and listen to her :)

Beautiful palace .. fantastic tourist attraction in Vienna. The palace looks stunning in the night lights. The inside tour of the palace is nice. Photos are not allowed inside the palace. All the antique items and treasures of the palace are preserved very well. Great place to visit. Such a long area of the whole place. It might even take a full day to see the complete palace. The palace viewing tickets are sold here. A bit expensive though. Tickets are also sold to cover the half side of the palace only at half price. A lot of souvenir items are sold at the exit. The Christmas market is held here in the grounds of the palace during Christmas time.

That statue is very large. It's situated in front of beautiful gardens. I don't really know much about the topic of the statue. Even though it looks good.
Stephansdom is a very important and well-known building in the city that visitors are sure to notice. What I found most impressive about Stephansdom was the roof. I really like the designs and the colors on the roof, which is not very common.
The top of the cathedral is also accessible for visitors to explore. All you need to do is purchase the ticket and then go up the stairs. The inside of the cathedral is very nice and really big. This cathedral is different from the others I have visited. It is not grand or extravagant, there are no big oil paintings on the ceiling or anything like that.

These fountains are located in front of the Vienna State Opera in Vienna. There are a pair of marble fountains beautifully crafted.

The left fountain is known as the Music Fountain, and the right fountain is known as the Lorelei Fountain.
St. Stephen's Cathedral is very tall and it has four towers.

The Stephansdom Nordturm (North Tower) is one of the four towers popular amongst tourists. The tower can be visited by the public and offers stunning views of Vienna.

The church is very old and sacred. The architecture of this church is very old and beautiful .

The Hofburg in Austria is an absolute gem that takes you on a captivating journey through history. As an avid traveler, I have visited numerous landmarks, but the Hofburg stands out as a place that truly encapsulates the essence of Austria's rich heritage.

I was immediately struck by the impressive architecture and the sheer scale of the palace. The blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles creates a visual feast for the eyes, transporting visitors to a bygone era of opulence and grandeur. The attention to detail in every nook and cranny is simply astounding.

The Hofburg's location in the heart of Vienna adds to its allure. Surrounded by charming streets, delightful cafes, and vibrant cultural attractions, it's the perfect starting point to explore the city. I recommend taking a leisurely stroll through the Burggarten, a beautiful park adjacent to the palace, for a moment of tranquility amidst the urban buzz.

Whether you are a history enthusiast, an architecture aficionado, or simply seeking a taste of Austria's imperial past, the Hofburg is an absolute must-visit. It is a testament to the grandeur and cultural legacy of this remarkable country. Prepare to be enthralled by its timeless beauty and indulge in a journey through Austria's rich history.

I definitely recommend you getting to this place, as there are also many other interesting architectures all around.

Exquisite place full of museums, history of Austria and it's rich culture. The Hofburg is definitely something to recommend for everyone. Every tourist shouldn't miss on this place, it's well organized, the expositions are highly engaging and there are so many of them, there is a lot to choose from. From my point of view, it's impossible to view all of it in single 24h, so prepare at least a week to take it all in!
Horrify a second one I don’t know if some of you may know how to pet time natural Avila beauty Station had a kind of this order of eating because she was really unhappy at
The Goethe monument is located directly next to the southeast corner of the Burggarten Vienna park. What can be said. Goethe looks majestically seated in his armchair.
It's a nice monument and honour, but could use a bit cleaning from all the oxide. Right at the corner of the park and next to the Opera.

Very good architecture.
What's interesting is that they preserving their heritage...
The North tower of the cathedral offers a great view of the market surrounding the church, but also the city. The stair climb is definitely a cool experience and challenge, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with a poor physical condition or any type of health issues. There is also a lift that will take you very close to the top, for an extra fee. Overall, worth a visit if you want to burn some calories, and get a nice view at the end.

Richard Strauss:
He was born on June 11, 1864 in Munich, Bavaria, the son of Franz Strauss (1822–1905), who was the main horn player in the Munich Court Orchestra and later a professor at the Academy of Music. His mother Josephine (1838–1910) came from the famous Pschorr brewing dynasty, one of Munich's richest families. He received his basic musical education from his father and wrote his first work at the age of six; from that time until his death he composed almost continuously.
The graceful fountain, located directly at the building of the Vienna Court Opera, is part of a single architectural ensemble, harmoniously complementing the overall spatial environment. It is one of the favorite places for photo shoots of numerous tourists vacationing in the Austrian capital.

The Opernbrunnen is a fountain standing in the grounds of the State Opera House in Vienna. It’s a circular fountain composed of the main basin and two smaller circular dishes in the centre, separated by columns. The upper dish is topped with an allegory of music, while between the two dishes are female allegories to joy, dance and levity

The sculptures are classically inspired characters wearing Greco-Roman robes with attention paid to the details of the robes and folds. The fountain is in the main tourist district of Vienna and it’s worth a quick look.

This monument stands (or sits) in tribute to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the 18th and 19th century German poet and writer. Amongst his many important works, his magnum opus and renown novel “Faust” is one of the greatest works of world literature.

The monument is a larger than life bronze sculpture of a sitting Goethe. Goethe is depicted seated comfortably with his arms resting on the armrests of the chair. He looks straight ahead and assured. The monument is located just outside the eastern entrance into Burggarten in the main tourist circuit of Vienna.

It’s not a particularly outstanding sculpture, but worth a quick detour if you’re in the area.

The Austriabrunnen is a fountain in the old town of Vienna. The fountain is not that big, but is dwarfed by the centrepiece of the fountain. The sculpture at the centre is a glorification of the Austrian Habsburg Empire. The sculpture features a central column topped with a sculpture of the female personification of Austria, holding a spear and shield. Just below her and around the pillar are four allegories of the four main rivers of the Habsburg Empire. These are the River Elbe, River Danube , River Vistula and the River Po. Their positions symbolising the central position of the Habsburg Empire in Europe.

The fountain is not in central Vienna and thus, not quite the tourist circuit. Worth a look if you’re in the area.

This fountain is dedicated to Saint Leopold, the saint credited with the discovery of the Veil of St. Agnes and founding the Klosterneuburg Abbey. The centrepiece of the fountain is a bronze statue of Saint Leopold, with a flag in his hand, looking at the design of the abbey on a piece of paper held up by a youth. The sculpture stands atop a pedestal with two relief sculpture depicting scenes of his aforementioned legacy.

I think the fountain is okay, it's on one of the main tourist streets of Vienna, on Graben. I wouldn't go out of the way to see it. It's not much of a fountain either.

Just outside the Burggarten Gate along Goethegasse and the opernring section of the Ringstrasse is a monument to the German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

This monument is the work of Austrian sculptor Edmund von Hellmer and was unveiled in 1900. It is a large scale bronze statue of Goethe, depicted as a middle aged and heavy set individual. He is in coat and seated in a large chair. The statue rests upon a granite pedestal, shaped in a similar manner to the outline of the statue.

You can see the Goethe Monument before or after visiting Burggarten or when passing along the ringstrasse. There are quite a few other monuments to view in the area as well.

There is a very monument called the Austria Fountain at Freyung Square that is worth checking out if you are visiting this area of the city. The fountain is the works of German sculptor Ludwig von Schwanthaler and was constructed in 1846.

Here you see a statue of a female figure with imperial robe, shield and sword. She is the personification of the Austrian Empire of the early 19th century.

Below is a pedestal with tree branch and leave ornamentation, surrounded by four additional bronze figures representing the four main rivers which were within the realm of Hapsburgs at that time. These include the Danube, Elbe, Po and Vistula Rivers.

The pedestal stands upon a rough, earth-like base from which water spouts into a shallow basin beneath. There are thin steps in the shape of a pentagon then surround the fountain allowing up close access to the fountain.

In the end, this is a neat fountain to see even during winter months when it is not in operation. You can enjoy viewing the five bronze figures and easily imagine what it looks like during warmer months of the year when filled with water.

Leopoldsbrunnen (Leopold's Fountain) is one of monuments along Grabenstraße in the city centre of Vienna, it can be seen on the east side of the Plague Column.

Here you will find an octagonal shaped basin with a bronze figure of St. Leopold who is holding a flag in his left hand while looking over a papers being held in his right. There is a young boy standing next to him, peering upwards at the saint.

Constructed in 1680 by Austrian sculptor Johann Frühwirth, the stone statue of St. Leopold was later replaced with a lead sculpture by Johann Martin Fischer in 1804.

While not as impressive or interesting as the beautiful Baroque Plague Column nearby, Leopold's Fountain is interesting to see, as is the similar Joseph's Fountain, situated on the other side of the Plague Column. Give both a few minutes viewing while spending time on Grabenstraße in Vienna.

Beware tourists, this place has the 4 m wall around the garden and the entrance is only from near this Belvedere Palace (which can be visited though). So you need to take tram D to "Schloss Belvedere" station and enter through there. Even so, we arrived on a Monday, hence half of the garden was closed in preparation of a lavish wedding reception, which made the entire garden filled with staff and plastic tents. Nice view, but rather kitch garden and not very tourist-friendly.
