This restaurant doesn’t look much from the outside (especially at the moment with road works) but do not be fooled. It’s absolutely beautiful on the inside. The service was excellent, the waiters spoke many languages and were fluent in English explaining the olive oil to us and the menu. We were there for my birthday, my husband had emailed before, they made sure we had the best table and they did me a birthday surprise. Honestly one of the best restaurants in Madrid. Thank you so much for making my birthday a memorable one. We fully recommend this restaurant and the prices are very good too.

We had lunch outside. The atmosphere was mostly pleasant but there is some local construction with some heavy equipment that passed by. This is not normal but was a bit unpleasant. The wait staff was great and their English is passable. The food was all delicious but the price point is too high. Yes, I know things are more expensive but this is a tourist area gouge. Other than the price and a bit of noise it was very nice.

Ask for Fernando the minute you get to the restaurant!! He pretty much made our whole experience unforgettable with his impeccable service, amazing recommendations and jovial demeanor. Loved the goat cheese croquettes, Iberian ham, tomato salad. We regret not getting the asparagus. Love the meat platter and the paella. Add this place to your list and it won't disappoint! PS loved the sangria as well!!

I was walking around in Madrid with my colleagues, when we encountered this romantic looking restaurant in a low crowded street.

We are immediately hooked by the dishes we see on other tables. They look GREAT, and the smell coming from them becomes the reason we decide to stop.

We ordered a mixed starter, as well as some tasty paella, and a surprisingly tasty meat dish. Everything was delicious, and on top of that, we were served one of the best oil in the world, which turned every bite into a flavour explosion.

As if it wasn't enough, the waiters were incredibly professional and they actually knew what their food was all about.

Definitely suggest having a dinner here: great atmosphere, amazing dishes, and balanced prices.

Amazing food, amazing server (Angie), amazing atmosphere! Worth my 15 minutes walk to here before they close! Authentic Spanish food. Best ham I’ve tried. Super tender pork, and one pleasant surprise to see grilled peppers coming with it! The price is so good too!

We'd heard the rave reviews about this restaurant and we wasn't disappointed. We didn't have a reservation but Ramon was confident he could get us a table. After a short wait he got us one, downstairs in the pleasant ambience of the cellar. The food was delicious and our waiter Leonardo could not do enough for us. This place is a hidden gem, the staff take a lot of pride in what they do and I would 100% recommend!

Our service was excellent. Angie did a fantastic job of helping us with the menu, recommending a great wine and taking care of us overall. We had a tapas plate with several choices (the chorizo was amazing) and each had a fish dish. I believe they are well known for their grilled meats, but after a heavy day of tasting all Madrid has to offer we needed a lighter choice. The grilled squid was very well prepared with excellent flavor and texture. The Sea Bass and Hake were also very flavorful. Thanks so much for a great experience in a unique setting!

I had a steak. It was alright. Nothing to write home about though. Had a glass of rioja - good quality and generous pour. Reasonably priced for Madrid. Friendly staff. However, I would not return…

We love this place! The environment is very pleasant, and we liked the service very much. As for the food, the steak melts in your mouth, the paella is also quite tasty (note that the portion is quite large). They have a large selection of wines. Highly recommended, don't forget to make a reservation in prior. 50-60 euro per person.

Excellent, what a fantastic find. Located down a quiet street off the beaten track. We had a very warm welcome by the owner and waiter. This is a family run restaurant which has been open 155 years and plenty of memorabilia on the walls. Let’s hope it stays open for another 155. It was very relaxed atmosphere, the food was superb, fried anchovies tasty and delicious. The steak cooked to perfection as was my sea bass. We finished the meal with beautiful homemade truffles. I would highly recommend finding this delightful old restaurant.

A traditional old Madrid restaurant that makes classic dishes. The food is rich and hearty, with lots of slow cooked soups and stews. The Castilian soup is particularly delicious. The staff are extremely helpful with guiding your order, but upselling or pushing any dishes, but advising restraint! It's a friendly place to have a great meal.

We came here for lunch around 1:30 pm. with no reservation, but they had an opening on that note, I do recommend reservations. The food was really good, and it's definitely a must try classic Spanish food.

Good.
We came in for dinner and had their house specialty setas con almejas for starters. For our main dish we had the lenguado and chuletillas de cordero lechal. For dessert we had the leche frita and trufa.

The tortilla here is fenomenal, but don't go too early as they start serving it around 11 am and no sooner. The owner is quick and friendly. If you are near Puerta de Toledo I would recommend stopping in. Great prices as well!!

I love this place. Feels traditional, great bravas sauce, nice cheeses, kind employees, and fantastic outdoor seating arrangement for a restaurant situated within the neighborhood.

Worst in Madrid so far, food with no taste whatsoever. Poor service. Worst house wine. Restaurant interior in disrepair. Avoid if you can. Very sad.
I want to recommend this restaurant (Casa Jacinto) so much.

We came here on recommendation from a Madrid local friend of ours who suggested it as it was quite close to where we were staying in a nearby hotel.

My wife and I ate dinner here one evening very late as we were exhausted after some big work days. The two waiters are some of the most welcoming people in Madrid and not only that, they are of exceptional professionalism and service.

The first night I ate scallops cooked on the shell as a starter and had the house specialty clams with wild mushrooms, my wife had a perfectly cooked sole.

All of these dishes were fantastic and I’d be happy to have any of them again.

Given we had such a nice time, we came back for Sunday lunch where my wife had the iberico jamon, croquettes and salad caprese. I myself had the cocido madrilènes. These meals once again were beautiful. I’d strongly recommend that if you have the cocido madrileno that you don’t need to eat anything else for a few hours afterwards as it is most filling.

All in all we’d come back to Casa Jacinto in a heartbeat, not just for the food but the great service and the wonderful ambiance of this little restaurant in the back streets of central Madrid.

We plan to return later this week! About the experience: We dined at this quaint local restaurant with classic Spanish decor rich in Spanish traditions. The staff were two lovely men with exquisite class who greeted to Americans with open arms. While I am of Spanish heritage and speak Spanish my wife speaks English. Yet the staff made us feel at home. Next to food, the dining experience makes an already delightful meal even that much more an unforgettable experience.

About the food: the offerings are varied, plentiful but not overwhelming. You can have starters, appetizers then move on to more heavy plate and finally your main dish, although you do not have to eat from every option. We shared the stuffed pimientos. These are not you normal stuff peppers. They are small variety pepper and I suspect they peel the skin because the peppers melted like butter in my mouth. They were stuffed with salmon. The flavor came from a pure vegetable puree that was infused with cognac and other spices. I almost didn’t share with my wife but she had a knife in hand. My wife ordered the sea bass which is half fish on its back (literal translation). Fish was tender and flavorful. I ordered the lamb chops which were seasoned and grilled perfectly to maintain moisture and tenderness and were accompanied with French fries. Dessert was the flan that was smooth as silk. Finished with a grappa variation aperitif (Baileys) and of course white and red wine. We ate like Royal family for such a value price. We love it and will be back this week and later this month.

We sat outside on the terrace which was nice and we only had drinks. This was on a Friday afternoon but the place was far from crowded. It was however really difficult to get the waitresses attention and we unfortunately ended up leaving after the first round.

It is a lovely bar. Cold beer and delicious breakfast. The staff is amazing. Worth for a visit.
¡Volveremos!

On the recommendation of my Mum, I visited this restaurant on a recent trip to Madrid. I'm glad I did as it was just as great as she'd said. The service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The chicken and ham croquetas were to die for and the steak was of high quality. Everybody in the group were really happy with their food - it was freshly cooked and delicious. I wouldn't hesitate in returning or recommending La Plaza to others. I can't wait to return.
My Mum had previously visited this restaurant and raved about it so we decided to check it out on a recent family trip to Madrid. We were not disappointed!

The chicken and ham croquetas were superb and our steak and chips was excellent. My wife especially loved the chips! Our little 2 year old was catered for with a hearty portion of chicken strips and chips which he loved. Friendly service from the staff and lovely ice cold cerveza.

All in all a real gem near to the Royal Palace of El Pardo and we wouldn't hesitate to visit again when next in Madrid.

Took a punt on this restaurant whilst staying with family. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere with excellent service. Very clean - napkins so soft.....seemed a shame to make them dirty! We started with Ham and chicken croquetas which were the best I've had to date. The steak was cooked to perfection - so tender! - the tortilla was delicious and very filling. The vibrant salad was tasty without being drenched in oil and the salsa de cabrales on the chips was just divine. All of the food was freshly cooked and hot - absolutely delicious!! A really good cup of coffee finished off the meal perfectly. Aside from the meal, the tinto de verano was so good!! An excellent meal and evening - extremely well priced. Would definitely recommend and intend to return as soon as possible

It is a expensive place where you will get good food. For €50 you eat like a king, starter, main course, dessert and drink. The spanish chef knows what he is doing. The food is not fatty at all, including the callos a la madrileña. The amount of food you get in the daily prearranged meal is very generous. The waiters are very helpful and attentive, in less than 30 seconds you will have whatever you have asked for. I got good food recommendations from them. I normally ask for the most popular/ordered items. Desserts are house made, arroz con leche is amazing. As long as you don't have bread with the food, you will reach the finish line. The prearranged daily meals are not very popular and a la carta is the way forward. The restaurant is located in town centre. It is not easy to get there by car, just use public transport, the best in the world here in Madrid. Not many car park spaces nearby. They serve spanish beer in the bar. Loads of tapas here, it is a very traditional spanish restaurant. Small plates can be ordered. It is a medium size place, forty five people can be eating at the same time. Toilets are in a very good condition, recently refurbished. No outdoor seating for smokers. The lunch shift starts at 13.30, normal Spanish standards, and finishes at 4pm. The kitchen closes at 3.30pm. €3 in the bar for one caña of spanish beer. No breakfasts served here.

Traditional restaurant in Chamberí. You can order typical Spanish food with a good quality and well cooked. The fried hake and calamari mix is one of the best you can get in town. The beef T-Bone is really good too. Sometimes a bit expensive depends what you order.
Very friendly staff. Nice food.

The staff was very friendly and fun, but I was surprised about how pricey it is, given that the food is fairly basic.
