Could smell the freshly baked bagels from the street. Atmosphere was warm and friendly upon entry. Ordered a warm bagel with lox, cream cheese, tomato and capers. The fish was sliced to order and the service was excellent. Delicious food.
I got a simple strawberry cream cheese bagel on a rainbow bagel. The bagel is nice if you have had liberty bagel it's similar. The strawberry cream cheese tho...disgusting. the color was off. It tastes like strawberries in light cream cheese. All for 7 dollars....not shocked about the price but the taste does not come any where near equal to the price. Probably will never try again. Service is regular fast speed NY.

Amir is hands down the best bagel store owner in NYC. Why? Because he’s friendly, he listens, takes long walks on the beach, AND he has the best bagels in NYC. They’re seriously so delicious. I had an everything toasted with creamcheese which I then dipped in hot sauce. Good golly Miss Molly it tastes so good. Also their coffee is fresh and their teas are decadent!
Great neighborhood bagel stop. I got a whitefish salad with onions on a toasted everything bagel. Yum! The coffee urns are self-serve, so you can sip as you wait for your sandwich. I hope to return soon!

Good/decent NY bagel. I got Whole Wheat Everything Bagel with Scallions Cream Cheese
It was decent, but not amazing.
Service is okay.
Chelsea Bagel of Tudor City is super-efficient, catering mostly to local regulars as opposed to being a tourist hot-spot, based pretty much on it's location on the east side. The staff are friendly, but terse - and with the line-up moving the way it does, it's best that you have an idea of what you want by the time you get up to the front to order.

Highly recommend the jalapeño schmear as it's fresh, and packs just enough kick to wake you up in the morning. There are a few areas to sit and relax, but I have to applaud them for their efficiency at getting people fed as quickly as possible before moving on to the next customer.

Very tasty food and good prices for NYC. Plenty of bagel choices and really good coffee.

Finally checked Tal Bagels off my list. Overall it is a very mediocre bagel spot. I might not go back again.

Their 1st Ave location is spacious with many indoor seatings and a restroom. The service was lacking as I had to remind our server a few times I wanted my bagels to be toasted. We thought it would be a great spot to work or study.

The bagel texture is soft, fluffy and flat. Yet both sesame bagels are not fully seasoned with toasted sesame. BEC bagel tastes standard. Tofu veggie spread is my staple at any bagel shops. This one is quite bland, yet it has a bold tofu flavor.
This place is the best bagel place in NYC. The service is great, bagels perfect, fresh and with variety and all the flavors of cream cheese. As a native I'm glad I'm local here, but it makes me laugh to see so many people (mostly tourists) lined up at essa bagel when they can come here instead, a short walk south. Benefits of being a native.

I pick up a bagel from here about 3-4 times per week. The attitude of some of the employees is really upsetting. I had a situation where they forgot to put my bagel in the to-go bag and I didn't realize because there was also soda inside. When I got home and realized I had no bagel, they hung up the phone on me and said it was my fault for not checking my bag. This isn't the first time I've had an issue- they continually get orders wrong.

The man who claims to be the manager is rude and doesn't care about customers. All he had to do was apologize, not to even mention offering me a discount for next time. They don't care about loyalty or quality and I would avoid this place if you can.

The bagels at Bagel Express are superb - not because of the bagels but because of the cream cheese flavors. The jalapeno cream cheese has a decent kick for a change and it's not riddled with vinegary under taste due to jarred pickled jalapenos.

I paid $5.39 with tax by credit card for just the bagel.

love this place for a quick breakfast. my go to is a turkey bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese pumpernickel bagel. pricier than your average deli but it’s worth the treat. employees are sweet and helpful.

Admittedly, I came at 11am after the breakfast rush and before the lunch crowd, but the egg everything bagel with avocado and cilantro cream cheese was excellent. Slightly well done and crunchy crust, chewy inside, just the way it should be. Don’t miss this spot.
Quick and very efficient service. Perfect taste and texture of bagel with just the right amount of cream cheese. I had wanted my bagel and lox would have onion, tomato, and capers--like a hamburger defaults to lettuce, tomato, and onion. But the menu says bagel cream cheese and lox and thats all you get.

If you love salmon, this is the place to go! They’ve got cured gravlax, lox, pastrami lox and baked salmon. I went with lox one day and gravlax the other.

The consistency was perfect as was the level of toasting. Upon request of a amount lite cream cheese, they actually listened.

The real star of the show, however was the chocolate babka bread. I’ve never had anything so delicious.

The only reason I don’t give this place 5 stars is that it’s a bit dirty. Trash was left on tables along with crumbs and the bathroom was pretty nasty. If you can get past that, the food is great.

I've heard of these bagels, and I happened to pass by and decided to give it a try. First impression, the place feels dirty. Maybe because it is old but did not feel clean. Grimmy, you know. There was an obnoxious old guy on the phone speaking loudly and sort of making a scene when ordering. Either a regular or owner like looking old, dude. So many ppl were eating and online, so I figured I was in for something very special. But it is just another bagel shop. I did buy a chocolate babka, and it was ok. Yall not missing much.
Layout/atmosphere
*Two tables; four seat window counter; coffee station; two tables on sidewalk

Food/drink

We've been coming here everyday during our 1 week stay in NYC. I consider these the best bagels out there, delicious, fully stuffed, vast choice of ingredients. They always welcome you with a smile. Muchísimas gracias! :)

Unassuming place looking from the outside, but these were exceptional great bagels! 🥯 Fresh too! We have tried a variety, salmon, eggs and bacon and also a simple blueberry one. The service is amazing too, helpful and easy going person at the counter. I would definitely be here on a regular basis if I lived in NYC 😅 Definitely coming back!
Loved this place!
They have multiple types of filling and bagels to choose from. They also have a nice self serve coffee station. There is some indoor and outdoor seating available as well.

I had the classic everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, and it was amazing.

Very expensive and pricey for just 2 bagels it was $40. I know this is in Manhattan but still it’s just crazy. Bagel was crunchy and good but it was super salty. Salmon was of good quality, however, and I could tell it was fresh. If the bagel wasn’t so pricey and salty then I would have loved it. I went inside because the bakery is beautifully decorated with flowers and it’s a great Instagram spot type of location for pictures. Lots of seating area.

I stumbled upon this delightful Bagel store this morning and was pleasantly surprised. Not only did I meet my broker here, but I also had the opportunity to enjoy a delicious breakfast. The food is positively fresh - a clear indication that this store takes pride in using only the best ingredients.

Their variety of bagels is impressive, and each one tasted more mouth-watering than the last. I also appreciated their customer service; the staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome.

If you're on the hunt for a great breakfast spot, look no further than this Bagel store. Trust me; you won't be disappointed. This store deserves a glowing review, and I highly recommend you pay them a visit.

First timer for a bagel and coffee. Bagel was a solid three and a half star NYC bagel so there's that. The coffee was also good. They do have a single restroom for patrons which requires a key from the staff. Large, clean and well lit. Staff was nice. Give them a try if you are in the area.

Tal Bagel is a bagel shop in Stuy Town. the eatery makes a variety of bagels fresh every hour. there’s some seating. however most people grab n go. beyond bagels, Tal serves coffee, a variety of baked treats like Babkas, and there are other savory options like knishes. the shop is super clean and very well maintained.

most recently, ordered an everything bagel with lox spread, red onions, and capers. it was delicious. great bagels don’t need to be toasted and Tal’s serves great quality bagels. Slight crispness with a chewy soft inside. the lox spread has that fatty lox umami, and the red onion + capers adds a couple of more flavors to round out any bagel sandwich.

the staff are super friendly and work hard.

They brought me a fresh out of the oven bagel! The bagel was warm, soft, but not the density was not what I was looking for. It was a little dryer but toppings were great. $1.75/bagel and 5.56 oz.

This is a sophisticated, cool and calm Bagel place. A lot of options and the service is quick without being in a hurry which I loved. I enjoyed my morning breakfast here in the indoor seating. They have soft bagels with lot of fresh juice, shakes and coffee options. Loved it! 👍🏼

Good bagels. The service is quick and polite unlike many other bagel shops. The bagels were not as crisp on the outside, but still tasted good. The strawberry cream cheese is delicious. The Funky Monkey smoothie is amazing and a must have. There are a few tables inside to sit. A good place to hangout in the morning.

Fantastic breakfast place!

A lot of options and a lot of food for the price you pay! I had an Italian hero sandwich! 🥪

Nice ambiance, clean and neat. The personnel is very friendly and polite.

The place in itself is kinda small but still spacious so you could sit in there and have a meal.
