Nice short hike up and down. There are different trails around but took just the main which is pretty simple and kid friendly. The trails off the main ones are a little mucky so come prepared with the appropriate shoes/boots

Beautiful trails. Good spots to sit and unwind. The best highlight of this park is the woods and the owl trail. One can immerse themselves in the variety of flora and fauna here. Highly recommended for nature buffs and photographers.

Had a great time here. Very scenic. Great view. I kinda wish we could've gotten closer to the lighthouse. The trail wasn't too challenging so I'd definitely recommend for anyone looking to go out on an easier hike.

I'm here for the lighthouse. I'm always here for the lighthouse.
Yes, the highlight of Lighthouse Park is the lighthouse at Point Atkinson and it was built in 1912. A few gun emplacements and defenses were added during World War 2 though much of that is just shells these days.
On a beautiful Saturday morning, it was a nice hike. I was lucky to find a parking space for the Sprinter van and the lot was pretty much filled by the time I got back. It's not paved or even level but it works and it's free.
The forest is a moderate hike. Some elevation changes and some of it is smooth enough for a lazy and out-of-shape Yelper like myself. It's old growth forest and absolutely beautiful with a well marked trail. The reward at the end is the lighthouse and the view of the Burrard Inlet with Vancouver Harbor way off in the distance. Some captions at the lighthouse keeper's buildings explain what it was like. And if you want to climb down the stairs to the shoreline, that's an option. Several folks insisted on climbing out on the rocks because they do.

It should be the easiest hiking route in the Greater Vancouver area. You can see infinitely beautiful scenery in a 20-minute walk. My son and I stayed here for an hour. The sea breeze was very cold and I had chocolate and hot tea. a happy day.

Great selection. Nice staff. Little expensive.

Amazing walk ... no smoking , no cycling, no dogs very quite for senior as well ... good place to park your car free .. great sea view .. nice resturant very close... lovely ... very very recommended 👌

Drove here all the way from Vancouver just to get some good views.
Parking:
There wasn't any designated parking spots near the park but there is plenty of roadside space to park at. The roads near the park were narrow and sloped. Private properties driveways look just like normal roads so it was easy to go into someone else's driveway accidentally.
The park:
The park was at the bottom of a few flights of stairs. To get to the bottom-most part of the park, climbing over huge logs were needed. Some rocks were not stable so it was quite dangerous. The climbing part is definitely not recommended for beginners. The stairs were fine though. The park is so tiny that there were only a few logs and a bunch of rocks. Nothing else.
The view:
Stunning view. The photos above were taken at around 4pm on a fairly sunny day. It's the end of September so the water level rose quickly after we arrived. Definitely a thing to keep in mind of when going to the park.
Conclusion:
Slightly dangerous route down to the park, but spectacular views. Worth going only if you have experience and are able to climb over logs that are almost 1.5 feet tall.

The lighthouse loop was a shorter and fantastic hike, about 2.5km. Lots of spots to stop with scenic views. We saw eagles and other birds and even a deer in the bog loop. We had a stroller with us, which made some parts tricky but still made it through. Would highly recommend!

Of the main road. Great place, good food, nice views and authentic local atmosphere.

Lovely park to watch the sunrise.

I’m living in lower mainland from last 4 years and heard lots about this place. But got a chance to visit 2-3 weeks ago. And it was a sudden plan. But we enjoyed alot. Unfortunately, coaster tickets were sold out. But scenic views from chaircar were amazing. And also tried a small hike for Yew lake, which is also beautiful.

Exploring these cliffside trails is an exhilarating experience. At this time of year the breeze is scented with the aroma of ripe blackberries and blooming lilacs. Take your time to enjoy the ocean views at one of the benches on the cliffs. An un-rushed hike is this neighborhood is a taste of the good life.

Growing up in the lower mainland, this is my spot anytime of the year I love having my picnics here!

Rugby fields (2), squash club, a paved trail, and short nature trails.

A very calm and quiet place to hang out. Went there to see the fireworks, and it was beautiful.

Lots of walking, wear comfortable shoes...

Visited the place during the Pow Vow. It was a nice experience. The music and dancing with traditional costumes was impressive

Well worth a 1371m hike with spectacular views from the peak.

Great night view. Not that far from the city. Great place 👍

Great local beach! Fairly large with both sandy beach and rocky area you can sit around. Great spot to have a picnic lunch! Usually quiet family area with some historical spot as well.

Its a beach access to a very extreme rocky beach area . Its got a small area with one bench and thats it . A little sand in some odd areas but overall very rocky . Its more of sit type of viewing spot. Its very hard walking on the rocks be careful . No public washrooms & NO public parking here . its ideal for just that chilling . It does have nice views of the waterfront and homes . Its a very extreme quiet place here so perfect if you wanna watch the sunsets and chill with a picnic type of place . There are no stairs to access this area just a easy walk down the road to this spot . There are TONS of BIG BEACH LOGS to sit on around here at this beach access area .

Beautiful park situated beside the Capilano River .Walking paths , fields and an awesome Rugby club.

Beautiful scenery - unfortunately not really accessible to seniors - quite steep.

Capilano Rugby Football Club always hosts their guests well - great food and drink and good company

Great Lookout Point. This mountain is great for hikes, skiing, and doing many activities year round.

Very nice quiet beach access

Went the summer of 2022 for the costal mountain costar. What a great experience plans to go again this year.

Gray but peaceful evening by the ocean
A good friend and a joint 🫡
you should try it

If you are leaving from the ferry terminal and want somewhere to walk this isn’t the biggest spot. I would recommend somewhere else but It was not too bad.
Very beautiful view of the ocean and some nice houses to view.
Very beautiful view of the ocean and some nice houses to view.

Very limited range of runs and basic hire equipment. If you can get to Whistler go there; but this is cheap and cheerful - great views back to Vancouver on the drive up. Close to Vancouver. Limited places to sit and watch with a time limit for the use of tables. Parking is also limited so go early on a nice day otherwise the parking will be a long way away.

Awesome view, very spacious, good for family outing with dogs. Sunset view is out of the world.

Nice wooded area for a bit of off-leash dog walking. Perfect for when you've just come off the ferry and the pup needs to stretch it's legs

Peaceful!

Beautiful mountain hikes with some scenic lookouts. We unfortunately went while there were some smoke from forest fires, so visibility was not very good. But I will definitely be back some time after the smoke has cleared for another hike. Make sure you wear good boots as there are some steep sections and loose rocks.

It was another great hike in that area. Total hike was about 3hrs. View in the very top of the mountain totally worth it. Make sure to carry mosquito spray as there was so many during the hike.

Found this tiny little "park" (more like a tiny forest trail) while driving through the area.
4 stars simply because it's a bit too hidden, especially if people park in front of the entrance - the entrance is in a residential area. Otherwise, a lovely little place. Head down the steep stairs that lead down to the bay, and then you have yourself a really nice view! Oh, and tons of mussels on the rocks you can walk over to.

Nice and quiet place

The view is nice but there isn’t much level ground to set up your chairs. If you’re planning on stopping by I’d recommend a foam pad to sit on as there’s lots of rocks as you can see by my photo.

Really pretty Little park.
The point view is awesome. At just 20min from Surrey or Burnaby.
Good spot for pic nic . Calm.
Nobody else was There.
Good place for Do some Drone video or picture.

No scenic place here but not crowdy with a lot of benches and space for picnic and relaxing

Don’t go here. Leave it to there crazy local people. Thanks 🥰

Well if they're happy I'm happy. Brilliant place to play and hang out

This park features playing fields, trails and access to the Capilano River. A great place to go for a walk with the kids and the dog.

This little park is truly a hidden gem! Not easily accessible by bus, but there is a few 2 hour parking spots available. There is no trash bin so remember to take your trash with you. There’s also a picnic bench which would make this a lovely place for lunch. Beware of the mosquitoes after dark, I was swarmed as soon as the sun went down.

Beautiful hidden gem in North Van. We enjoyed our time here. We had a swim in the ocean, played in the sand and enjoyed all the driftwood. There are steps going down to the beach and a trek to get back up. Parking can be difficult as it's in the side of the road.

Peace

Small, busy place but nice. Be aware there's no sandy beach here. It is rocky and it is not wheelchair accessible. Lots of lovely young people.

Beautiful. We arrived and anchored just off shore. It was a bit challenging getting a reliable bite with the anchor. The beach was crazy busy however.

Not busy place, some sea view, worth visiting

“Beach access” is a little misleading. It’s very rocky. Great for a walk with kids. But it may be a bit of a scramble. Even kayak launches are a little tricky, especially at low-tide.

Big field. Beautiful scenery.

One of the best walking trails on the North Shore. The forest is spectacular and perfect for taking your dog off leash.

Beautiful walk with a variety of trail options. You can stay on one of the main paths which are fairly flat and wide or you can take one of the side trails and get a little deeper into the forest. Either way, you won't be disappointed. Not much for lookouts aside from city views but the whole walk is beautiful. Also dog friendly, just leash up.

Neat little park with a small rock beach area

Hiking with an amazing view and around 30min uphill (for 1hr hike trail)!

I love this place, the views are incredible. The sky it's like it's on fire sometimes. Also the air smells so fresh!! LOL

Absolutely phenomenal panoramic view of Vancouver Harbour: from the West Van shoreline at Caulfeild Park along to Ambleside, the Lions Gate Bridge and Stanley Park, and then back up along the beaches of Kitsilano to Jericho, Point Grey and beyond in the distance to Vancouver Island. The view at dusk is also absolutely amazing when the towers rising along the shore of Ambleside and those in the Downtown Core beyond Stanley Park are fully illuminated. Excellent spot for a rocky seaside walk or hike over trails and rock faces. If you're lucky, it's not uncommon to catch a glimpse of a seal, otter, or eagle overhead. Caulfeild Park also includes a grassy garden area ("Edge Park" -- further along Pilot House Road) below the Caulfeild Rock Monument (dedicated to the West Vancouver pioneer, Sir Francis Wm. Caulfeild, after whom this area is named), with lawn and several tall apple trees, ideal for summer picnics and viewing July - August English Bay fireworks from a distance. This park is, after Ambleside, my personal favorite of all in West Vancouver, and is truly an unparalleled hidden gem.

My girlfriend and I had lunch meal in there. We sat on a lying wood, watching the waves hit on the shore. It was enjoyable and relaxing! I would love to go there again.

Okay.. to be honest, this was one of my least favorite days. The trails seem to be permanently muddy. Even if it's sunny for 100 years straight and everyone on earth dies from dehydration, you can be certain there will still be mud here. On a serious note, make sure you bring hiking boots no matter the weather and expect to get dirty.
Also, the buses there almost never pass by. Once every 45 mins or 50 mins. In almost every other location for hiking trails, the buses will pass more often. All I'm saying is come prepared.

Great park with an excellent waterfront view. Minimal parking with a staircase leading you to the waterfront. Amazing spot to watch the sunset!

Wow what a place to explore. Does anyone know the name of this military installation? And why are there two fantastic tennis courts in the middle of the park? Yes there are two courts that I discovered only by looking at Mr. Google satalite view. Yes they are locked for covid-19!

A hidden gem in West Vancouver. Limited parking and access to beach is by staircase. At base of stairs you'll find a concrete slab and picnic table. The beach is rocky with plenty of crabs and tide pools.

It's beautiful anytime of year. Ski packages available for gift giving. If you're visiting and want to challenge yourself, the Grouse Grind Trail will definitely give you bragging rights and a fabulous story! Wear proper gear, take water and don't do it alone. Have fun and bring you're camera.

Beautiful local residential park. Lovely to walk through in the summer - light filtering through the trees, very quiet, etc. That said, it is very hilly, so keep that in mind - and the location isn't great if you don't live right here as it's very residential, so not really a 'destination' park. It does have a couple of nice tennis courts and an old viewpoint that's worth checking out.

My favorite place in all of Vancouver. Visited when the Christmas light display was showing. Tree walk is fun, cliff walk and suspension bridge will thrill you. Stunningly beautiful trails to walk. This is a must see when in the area.

Cool beautiful place

In late September, the meadow is paved with shiny golden flowers.

We attended the 2019 Capilano Youth Powwow, everyone was friendly and welcoming and the venue was great. Parking is limited though, so carpooling or transit is a good option.

Went to the annual pow wow held here admissions $5.00 and worth it there's native art clothing dancing ect. But I've also been here for ceremonies it's a great place to learn and socialize

Not really a park.... You walk down the stairs and there is a small area which you say stand and watch sunset. Maybe a good place for the neighborhood to reach the sea water.

Great set of trails in this area around Brothers Creek. There are a lot of options and loops, but the junctions are all well marked. The popular stops are Lost Lake and Blue Gentian Lake - you can hit both and loop back to your car in roughly 4 hours average pace.
The trail maps on Google are fairly accurate, except around Lost Lake it doesn't show the trails (yet?).
Parking is free in the residential area near the official trail heads but you can also enter into the woods and follow the bike paths upwards until you hit part of the Baden Powell trail.
I recommend downloading the offline maps before you go because cell service is spotty.

Well it's not really a park.....there are some steep steps down from the road to a small area which has access to the beach, which is mostly rock boulders. The view is great from the bottom, but only has a very small area. Very difficult to have a picnic with the family.

Lovely hike, well marked trails with maps. I loved it.

Very peaceful. Took my cat for a walk.

Nice forested park near westmount area of West Vancouver. There is a couple tennis courts in good condition. There is a stone platform with a worn out bench on top that needs fixing. It looks like it was a triple bench but two parts are missing. There is some trails and most of the park is forested on a hill. There is nothing else.

Tall trees park is great place to watch the sunset. It is located at the bottom of Gleneagles place and is accessed by a short staircase down to the beach. There is some free street parking in the area.

The correct name for this park is Citrus Park according to a map made by West Vancouver. The park is located on Ansell point, that is not the correct name. There is a staircase that goes down to a rocky area by the water with great views. There is also a forested area that could be explored. Someone tied a rope to a tree that could be used for swinging. It could be a good place to hang out on the rocks and watch the sunset. In summer, you could go swimming. West Van should add a bench on the rocks to sit on. There is limited parking on the street and to get here, must drive through a single lane tunnel under the railway.

Pretty view but only the once a year powwow is really any reason to go there. Other than that there is nothing here to attract any people. I can't see anyone saying "Let's go to the Capilano Reserve Park for the day."

A fantastic place to walk the dog!
There are somewhat hidden tennis courts here for the public.
Also, a bit of history as a decaying WW2 lookout sits at the highest point of the park (you can find it by taking the granite steps close to the North entrance of the park).

This park is primarily a forested hillside with two tennis courts (east west orientation). There are wonderful stone stairs up across the granite, moss covered slope and up to a stone faces sitting area. A marvelious place to escape form the more urban world around it.
At the top of these stone steps there is a bench and a view into the trees. What a wonderful, private place to go to.
