Tranquil Escape in the City
The Forest Therapy Trail is a hidden gem in Markham. It's a perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse yourself in nature. The trail is well-maintained and easy to walk, making it suitable for people of all fitness levels.
The highlight of the trail for me was the peaceful atmosphere. The lush greenery and the sound of birds singing were incredibly calming. I felt my stress melt away as I walked along the trail and breathed in the fresh air.
I highly recommend this trail to anyone looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience in nature.

A stunning spot with a beautifully landscaped park and a large pond! There are some wonderful paths and the abundance of locals makes this evident.
Relax and peaceful place. There is another bridge if you keep walking to the west. Around 15 minutes to walk.

This place is honestly a pretty good trail all-year round. If you know where to look, you can get some amazing photos here. If you turn left after the bridge, there is a small off-trail. Follow that trail for a bit and you will find a beautiful ridge where you can take photos all year round. All the attached photos have not been edited, except for Apple’s photo processing (I am using the Warm Preset).
Great hiking path that's close to home.
There's always parking and the trails are clearly indicated.
Plenty of evidence of wildlife (beavers).
A cozy park with a short walking trail , a narrow river inside , lot of trees and birds

Cute little trail. Quiet and relaxing.
Easy parking where there are the entrance of the trail.
Here is the maple viewing guide in downtown Toronto - Milne Dam Conversation Park. This park is truly a must for maple viewing! ❤

This park is located in Markham, about half an hour's drive from downtown Toronto. The whole park is so big that if you walk, you probably won’t be able to finish it in half a day😂, but it’s only a 2-3 minute walk from the parking lot 🅿️ to where I took the photo.

It is more suitable for skateboarding, cycling, etc. It will be very beautiful to walk along the path and pass through one maple forest after another.

This is a great place for gatherings of family and friends, because on weekends there will be a lot of people gathering here in this park, having barbecues, etc. Not to mention how attractive the aroma is. 😍

🗺️Park name: Milne Dam Conversation Park🗺️

⏰Opening hours: 24 hours⏰

🎫Tickets: Free🆓. 🎫

🚘About transportation: There is a bus to get there. It takes about 10 minutes to walk after getting off the bus. If you drive by yourself, parking here🅿️ is also free. 🚘

⭐It is very close to Markville Shopping Center. If you feel hungry after visiting the park, there are many delicious food here. ⭐

The current exhibition of the museum is about Transportation and Chinese culture. There are plenty of interactive exhibits yet there are only few visitors, so you can easily experience these exhibits without needing to queue for them. Extremely suitable for families with children who likes playing with interactive exhibitions.

There is also an outdoor area with guided tour at 2pm, where there are many old houses. Visitors can immerse themselves with the early lifestyles of the pioneers of Markham.

After all, the admission of the museum is only $7 which is not expensive when compared with other museums in Toronto. This museum is highly recommended.

Milne Park, located in Markham but easily accessible from Toronto, is a sprawling natural haven. This expansive park boasts a serene lake and picturesque vistas of rolling hills and lush forests. It's an ideal destination for a leisurely afternoon stroll, a relaxing picnic, or a refreshing cycling adventure. You can also bask in the sun's warmth, immersing yourself in tranquil moments of absolute serenity.
Absolutely beautiful. The sound of the trees and the stream make it an oasis in the neighborhood.
I often find friendly people happy to share a smile, say hi, let me pet their dog...or you can sometimes spot bunnies.
The trees create a nice shade which makes it perfect for a sunny day.

A hidden gem! Beautiful trail along a winding river. At most places along the trail, there are grassy areas and benches, so it also gives a feeling of a long park. I could not find any washrooms in the park.

It is one of the many green spaces that I enjoy cycling by and make a pit stop!

The space is well maintained and not crowded if you stay away from the main area. You will find lots of hidden gems when you explore the area.

My family went there today and we learned so much about Markham history. Ms. Cadi is excellent tour guide. We also played the mini putt . We have a good time. We will come back again!
Thanks!
Nice excellent view. This is my go to park to bike, walk, You can always find a spot for your barbecue with family here. fall colors.
I used to visit this place all the time in a year, Nice place for hiking, walking, nature and birds watching. Its nice place to visit in weekdays, no entrance fee, weekdays there is entrance fee and too much people.
Milne Dam Conservation Park is such a hidden gem. My first visit was last Fall when the Fall color was at its peak. I walked from the parking to the Milner Dam then back. There's people of all kinds chilling there. The paths are not as smooth as in a park. It's a little bit of a hike, but not too challenging so I believe many elderly will still be able to enjoy it.

Nice park for picnic only. Lake is full of birds. Lots of birds waste all over the grass.
Nestled in the city of Markham. A great spot for a picnic. Beautiful green space with water access. Went on a weekday so no entry fee. The site was flat, with the standard picnic tables and a good size shelter. There was even washroom facilities BONUS especially with young kids. Only spent time in a section of the park. Will definitely go back to explore the pedestrian suspension bridge and other parts of the park.

Well maintained multi-purpose walk / Cycle trail with lots of places to bird watching and taking in nature. Use mesquito repellant in the spring/summer months.
Amazing park for wildlife. Love to go for my wildlifephotography. It also connected to other parks such as forest therapy trail.
This park is amazing for a family outing. The lake is serene and the picnic tables are plentiful. Long trails that take you to a bridge in a forest area and also to the Milne Dam. Tons of parking and this place is free on weekdays. Weekends can get busy and you may have to wait to get in as you have to pay for entry. Highly recommend visiting this park.
So pretty. I saw a good size fish in the water I was from the bridge. Remember I’m at least 30 feet away from the fish.

I also saw the handsome frog along the wall way.

It is a bit like the Shanghai Minhang District Museum where you used to live, but the indoor pavilion part is much smaller in scale and the collection is mostly household items.
But the special thing is that there are many old houses placed in the park, just like the Black Creek Village.
There is a car head somewhat like Snowpiercer.
It is a good place to take wedding photos.

This Forest Therapy Trail is nice and peaceful.
It’s wonderful because there is a river along the path you walk.
It’s total about 3km only for the whole trail (a loop), I will say that it’s good for seniors to walk too, because there are some benches here and there for them to rest when they want to.

It’s also kid-friendly too, because there is a playground and grassland for soccer playing. It’s great to have a picnic with your family and friends as well.

A good place for a quiet walk.

As you know, I'm new comer here in Canada so It's a first time that I went to Milliken Mills Park. We went there for sledding. There were many people who were enjoying snowfall and sledding.
From a safety point of view, It's the best hill for sledding because there is no hurdles infront of ending edge.
Now I will surely go there in Summer too to see the natural beauty of this park. I uploaded a #shorts on my Channel Q Familia too.
Here are some clicks taken by me. Hope you'll like it. Have a safe happy time!🌷

I love coming here to hike. It has a nice cliff side view that overlooks the river. Absolutely gorgeous. Great for dog walking and it is great exercise. I used to bike here all the time with my friend. I especially love coming here in the fall. The foliage is so stunning and all the different colored leaves are great for photos. Overall a great place for people that love a nice hike.

It’s a very big park good for jogging and biking. There are multiple sport fields. Unfortunately the big playground in the middle of the park needs a lot of repair since many equipments are out of service; removed and fenced because of damage.
The splash pad is good but there is no shade.

We had our wedding photos done here and it was a fantastic choice. Not only were there several great locations for photos but our guide (Mike) was incredibly friendly and helpful. There is a cost to take pictures here, but it was very much worth it.
Great splash pad. The playground is more of a senior structure. Lots of park space to picnic, kids to run around.
Summer 2023: this splash pad has been newly renovated. It can get extremely busy on the weekends.

It was therapeutic as its name "Forest Therapy Trail" suggested., Very peaceful in the weekdays. The trail is pretty short, part of the trail is in a loop. It is about 4km in length. It is along a small creek and it was sceneric. Parkings can be found either at the tennis club on the east side or at the Church on the west end.

Awesome place for family. Surrounded by condo and townhouses from three sides so there are always good number of kids and families in the park. There is a big playground, kids play structure, splash pad and uphill grounds. It is also super beautiful during falls. It also has one of those rare things - Washroom.

Hill is the biggest attraction of the park.
Many playgrounds are there in the park. Sometimes I see Canadian geese near water tank entrance.
Good place to walk, relax and enjoy nature with family.

The law requires that dog owners should keep their dogs on a leash at all times when on public property.

But overall nice place.

First time coming to this park and it's for tobogganing! We went during weekend after lunch. It is a quite popular place for tobogganing. Many people came already when we arrived. But there are quite some parking spaces, which is nice. The slope is by far the steepest! We had tons of fun. Some people brought their snowboards here to practice! The entrance to the park was a bit sneaky, need to pay more attention!
Cool bridge. It gives you an excellent view of the dam below.

This forest therapy trail is connected to the Rouge River, part of Ontarios Greenbelt. The Greenbelt protects formland, forests, wetlands and river valleys which provide us with clean water, fresh air, local food, and keeps our communities resilient.
Research strongly supports that Forest Therapy walks can boost the immune system, lower bload pressure, stabilize moods, reduce stress, and improve sleep, while providing many other benefits.
This path it's very long and in-between, there are smaller side trails that run a long the river.

Only downside, the garbage bins are often quite full. Markham parks should clean it up more often considering the number of people who use this trail.

Beautiful new bridge, nice views around)
Just a great place to play sports, relax and enjoy the company of family and friends. There are benches to sit down on, a huge hill to view of the city, there are several soccer fields, baseball diamonds and a basketball court. There is also a playground. There is a also community centre near by (with a pool and ice rink) a high school, and many resturants within walking distance.
It's a piece of peaceful land in a noisy neighborhood.

The trail was great for a nice walk. It was very calm and not crowded on a weekday. It took us almost 50mins to complete the loop with a few stops to take photos. The parking lot near the tennis court entrance was very small. It may be a better idea to park around Forest Park Crescent.

When for a hike on this trail today. It was nit busy so was easy to stay away from people. My dog definitely had a good time. It was a little Icy but if you wear the proper attire you’ll be good. The river running through this trail make it seem like you were hours away from the city. Peaceful and beautiful. Would recommend to anymore just looking tj egg out of the house. (Also free street parking if anymore was wondering if there is parking)
My obsession and thirst for suspension bridges and curiousity was fulfilling on this bridge. Great ambiance

This park is very big considerably speaking. Apart from the tobogganing hills in the winter as stated in my last review, there are over 3 baseball diamonds and 2 large open fields. 2 playgrounds to keep you entertained with a highschool and community center close by.

2018. 4★ Great place in the summer and the winter. Summer: has a large park, baseball diamonds, several playgrounds and nearby community center. In the winter there's a good hill for tobogganing. It's great. One of the good hills in Markham.
