Go anywhere else. Literally.
I spent 5 hours for them to not be able to figure anything out yet give me completely unrelated health info to what I visited for..that I already knew about.
Not to mention the guy who checked me in and did my vitals was looking at me weirdly and made me feel uncomfortable with his interactions. I felt profiled.
6K bill for no answers and the doctor who originally saw me had no decency to re-visit. just sent the doctor of the next shift in. Who didn't seem knowledgeable either?

I took my sweetheart to the UF North Campus ED this morning and couldn't be more impressed with the care she received. As a nurse myself of 25 years, I am conscious of what I consider to be adequate care at a medical facility and even more so when it concerns a loved one. The doctor assigned to her care, Jarrod Clements, MD and her nurse, Travis Wills, were both rock stars. And as a man who came of age in the 60s and 70s, I know something about rock stars. I couldn't be more pleased with her care and our experience today was stellar. Thank you so very much.

Their labor and delivery department is awful. Besides one nurse, everything about our recent birth experience for my daughter sucked. They couldn’t get it together. Nothing was in the room. We had to constantly ask for stuff. Zero towels for the shower, we had to ask for baby items and they’d bring one small pack of wipes at a time, chucks weren’t stocked, pads - nowhere to be found, diapers - yeah, good luck, had to keep asking for those, an essential item for a newborn baby. Had to ask for more blankets for the baby (they had ONE blanket and it was the one baby was wrapped in). The lactation consultant - I don’t know how she obtained her certification bc all she did was measure for flange size. ZERO breastfeeding information provided. You might as well go into this L&D packing everything you’ll ever need because they will either ration it out to you or sulk when asked to get something. One nurse came in at 4pm to advise she would be back at 6 to do one last round of vitals, to never be seen again but noted on my daughters chart she came back at 6:15pm and had the nerve to write down false vital signs. The midwife was clearly sick, zero mask, and coughing during the entire delivery. It was disgusting. Asked for a hand pump - “oh gosh let me see if we even have one”…3 hours later still no pump. Asked for a donut or something to help with the discomfort while sitting - “we don’t have those, can she not use pillows?” You’re always told you’ll be leaving the hospital with so many supplies/welcome bag 😂. Not this hospital. They got one thing right and that was commenting that the room service staff are rude.

This facility is mainly focused on how they can grow richer versed what’s best for the overall care of the patient. My family member had a serious procedure several days before he was discharged. The empathy of the staff had no concerns with his overall recovery. There’s a disadvantage being in a city that has multiple hospitals because the patient can be bounced from one facility to the other. As a retired nurse I don’t have much respect for this new trend of management for healthcare. Be careful of what hospital court your love ones are being treated at we are facing less care and treatment for the sick

Great experience. As a primary care patient I was able to accomplish 4 different things including xrays and blood draw within one hour with minimal wait. It is nice to have everything under one roof where it is only a few steps from one place to another. Staff is very nice, professional and helpful. The Health app is also great and provides tremendous value when it comes to appointments, fast test results or communication in general. This is how healthcare is supposed to work - thank you.

BEST EMERGENCY ROOM EXPERIENCE EVER!! Would give 10 stars if possible. Wait time was less than 10 minutes. All staff we interacted with were highly competent, professional, and empathetic. Facilities were the nicest I've ever seen. Can't say enough good things, and I'm completely mystified about why there are any bad reviews about this place. I highly recommend!

I avoided going to an ER as long as I could due to previous terrible experiences, specifically with patient care, but I was referred here by UF Wildlight Urgent Care, and I have to say this was the best experience I’ve ever had in an ER. My nurse, Darcy, had the best patient care/bedside manner I’ve ever received. I also received assistance from another nurse, Haleigh, who was just as great. Furthermore, Dr Nicoloso was kind and confident. The patient care at this facility is a 10/10 and I am so grateful that I now know there is an ER close enough to Fernandina that I am actually comfortable going to. Thank you all!♥️

It is WILD how one person can take a great experience to horrible. The provider that assisted my daughter was very rude, almost condescending in his demeanor. He had an incredible way of making you feel very unwelcome. He had no interest in helping at all. I am a medic and completely understand what to do without instruction. But for someone who doesn’t, I would’ve felt just as lost as before. He had VERY poor bedside manor. He really was the reason that this review is bad. On the side, everyone else was absolutely AMAZING! We are on vacation and being in a different city can be scary. Every one else made it great. I hope this PA can gain better bedside manor and at least make people feel ok.

I really can't think of a single reason for anyone to ever come here. You are better off going to an urgent care or actual emergency room for anything. I went here and got some tests done to check if I had COVID or the flu and it cost $6000. That's not even including all the bills from random doctors and medical offices I've been receiving for months afterward. It's no wonder people would rather go to other countries to get medical work done. They say the American healthcare system is one of the worst in the world. The only way anything will ever change is if everyone just starves these predators of sick and desperate people to prey on. If you come here the only thing you get is mediocre medical assistance for life crippling dept and a bunch of parasites who have their finger in every pie. I guess I got lucky because I've heard of even worse medical debt horror stories.

I have been twice in the last six months and both times I have had the same nurse (Sue) she is amazing. She cares about her patients and does what she has to do make sure they are taken care of

Dr. Ryan Lamond doesn’t care about his patients. When he came in the room he was very nonchalant and acted as if I was getting on his nerves by telling him what was wrong with me. The only reason I’m giving two stars is because the nurse and radiologist tech were very nice and tried to make me as comfortable as they could.

Melissa was the fastest and most professional nurse I have ever had the pleasure to experience. Extremely attentive , using her skills to ease my pain so I may feel comfortable as soon as possible. I have colon cancer and it is not easy to feel well immediately. She has a wonderful smile, professionalism, and disposition she maintained during my whole experience. Thank you Meliss

Worst emergency room to go to. If you have other choices to for an emergency, please use those first. The staff is only concerned about getting you in and out. The doctor didn’t seem interested in figuring out what was wrong with me. Im sure that I was being stereotyped, but whatever. The doctor barely looked at the injured area. Just diagnosed me with an infection, prescribed antibiotics and ibuprofen and sent me on my way. I was there less than 20 minutes. The pain i feel is excruciating and it just gets worse. I went to work this morning and my face started swelling up along with my ear canal. I will be going to a different emergency room to get a second opinion. I suggest going to any other ER but this one.

Mr.Rodney and Dr.Brace were AMAZING!!! My daughter was recently diagnosed with Bronchitis. The attention and dedication of Mr. Rodney and Dr. Brace were excellent. Mr.Rodney's very pleasant personality makes the patient feel better and forget the illness for a moment and I also really liked Dr.Brace's personality because he is a very humble and cordial doctor. I also wanted to mention that the service is excellent because I was only at the hospital for about an hour and a half and they did all the medical tests on my daughter, gave her, her diagnosis and also gave me a note for school. Thank you very much to both!!! We need more people in hospitals like them both. God bless both!!!

From the moment of my arrival, it became apparent that the atmosphere was less than satisfactory. As the sole patient being attended to late at night, the demeanor of the staff seemed off, displaying signs of annoyance and reluctance to provide care. The unpleasantness began when they inquired about my medical history and specifically asked if I had previously visited the emergency room. When I confirmed that I had, their response was less than professional.
One nurse, in particular, made inappropriate comments about individuals failing to settle their medical bills, which led me to believe that the remark was directed at me. Furthermore, Dr. Aragona, Jodi MD, displayed a distant and dismissive attitude. During conversations, she would abruptly leave the room, seemingly uninterested in providing the necessary attention and care. This behavior may have stemmed from my previous outstanding medical bill, despite it being of minimal value.
To compound matters, a nurse was assigned to draw blood from me and mistakenly inserted the IV needle incorrectly, resulting in the infusion of saline solution into my muscle tissue and causing severe swelling in my arm. Despite my screams of pain, the nurse persisted, infusing nearly the entire solution before rectifying the situation and repositioning the IV. Subsequently, a CT scan was conducted, and the doctor later informed me that no abnormalities were found, suggesting that my symptoms were likely unfounded. However, upon reviewing the CT scan results myself the next morning, I discovered the presence of bilateral renal stones, which could have accounted for my pain and fainting episode. Additionally, a left renal cyst was identified. This discrepancy reveals a lack of honesty and integrity on the part of the medical staff, as they deliberately misled me regarding my diagnosis.
It is disheartening to experience, particularly the mistreatment and deceit I encountered at HCA Florida Atlantic Emergency. I strongly advise against seeking medical care at this facility if you happen to have an outstanding bill, even if it is just a nominal amount. The level of mistreatment and dishonesty demonstrated by the staff is cause for concern. I encourage patients to read their own medical reports rather than relying solely on the doctors affiliated with the facility, as my experience serves as a stark reminder that misinformation and deception can occur.

This is a great hospital. I have been several times with my kids, and they always take very good care of us, and we are always in and out.

Horrible care!! Dr. Mui & Dr. Atteslty(spelled it incorrect but you know who I mean) are both bad. They both made my wife seem like a bother and act like they have better things to do. They look at us with no real answer shaking their heads with arm and palms looking unbothered , show huge lack of concern, and simply just seem like they’ve lost passion for their important roles. Both Dr’s and Nurses don’t communicate with patients and they show that display of lack of care along with always busting veins. I always recommend to simply pray to God to heal you but I heavily encourage that you do that instead of going to this ER go somewhere that actually cares for your well being and know they get paid to help people not just to show up, get paid, then go home. I pray they can come to realize what they need to act like especially in their roles, nurses included.

Went in for a broken toe, and all they did was poke a hole in my toenail to relieve the pressure, and gave me Tylenol, even when I asked for something stronger because I was in excruciating pain

Dr. Attesley & nurse Christina should be ashamed of themselves. Was treated her 2 days ago for strep and went back due to swelling and rash on my body. Dr has 0 bedside manner. Came into the room rolling his eyes and arms crossed, very unapproachable. Dr Attesley proceeded to tell me how I needed to take antibiotics for my infected tooth which is not a thing. I was on antibiotics for the strep. And when I told him that wasn't what I was seen for it was strep he became physically visible that he was irritated with me. Which made me emotional then nurse christina asked what was wrong with me and when I said they made me feel like I was an issue and I didn't want to be there anymore her response was "well, go then. We aren't holding you hostage." Absolutely unprofessional and disheartening that this is what this place has become.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. I really did not want to give one star. I took my 8 year old granddaughter there. She was very sick, crying, and moaning. After 1 1\2 hours she was placed in a small room to be triaged. After 5 mins I went out to find out when the nurse was coming in because my granddaughter was moaning. The charge nurse Kimberly came in. She told me I will be in here when I get around to it. She gave me a nasty lecture. That was it for me. We left, took her to Wolfson and she was triaged and saw the Dr within 30 min.

I took my wife here for her having symptoms of a allergic reaction,she was totally dismissed, nothing was done to confirm nor deny this, the doctor came in talking about her tooth & then he was corrected & i told him i was concerned she was having a reaction to a steroid she was given 2 days prior at this location which might i add no labs or test were done , they justt hrew some meds at her & had us in & out in 20 minutes no way they could have done a proper diagnosis & was told it is impossible to be allergic
to a steroid & she was told to go home & take some benadryl & when she expressed her concerns on how she was being treated she was told to leave that they don't hold people hostage. I'm not a doctor but I do know there can be serious complications from taking a steroid.

Thus place is a rip off! They couldn't find out what was wrong with my son and just gave him pain meds. Now I'm still receiving bills from 6 months ago! They bill for every service separately. Then they don't share insurance information so I have to call in with info every time. Go to a real hospital! These people are not experienced and money hungry. That's why they're popping up all over.

I have been there twice and find the entire staff. To be attentive, empathetic,and friendly it shows that they like there jobs and really enjoy helping their patients.

don’t come here unless literally everything else is closed. my bestie sliced her pinky open, we came to this ER and they checked us in and had us sitting waiting for 30+ minutes while my bestie is crying and in visceral pain. no compassion or empathy for her at all. we walked out that mf. went to care spot on dunn and got seen immediately!

I went in for headaches I had been having for two months. No one did a blood test to see why this had been happening. They just sent me home with headache medicine. Went somewhere else, got properly taken care of and got my blood drawn. Only to find out I was anemic and that was the cause of my headaches/dizziness. Memorial will never see me again and I won’t recommend them to anyone

The emergency room wait is never unrealistically long . The Staff at this hospital do what they are paid to do ,very effectively. Every department.! From the kichen to the cleaners, Drs ,Nurses , Admin . Someone hires the best to workers at this location. And it's always clean . Bathrooms,waiting rooms .. I hate to come back so much but they are life Savers ! Thank You ! ☺

Dr was helpful and provided thorough care. He was friendly with my grandson and answered all our questions.
He ordered X-rays and pain relief. The nurse was friendly and professional.
X-rays were done on site. Facility was well cared for. The front waiting room was clean. Front desk attendant was polite. Registration was virtual. Medical staff was experienced and knowledgeable.
Not an extended wait. Our longest wait was for the X-rays.
Parking was plentiful.

The staff is amazing. Our nurse, Andrea was very patient and sweet and Dr. Smith listened to my concerns and did a great job diagnosing my child.

I am The Legal Guardian for my Autistic Adult Son, He was brought to HCA under a baker act on last Tuesday 6/20/23. The discharged planner called 3 hrs after he arrived stating they were discharding him because they don't treat anyone with Autism. However, the Psychiatrist gave him 4 different medications I would not have approved 3 of them without my consent because he behaves worse when it wears off. I was transferred to the Psychiatrist on duty that night & I asked why wasn't I notified about his combative behaviors & asked permission for the meds administered? She stated 'that they didn't treat anyone with Autism but he was combative so they just gave him ativan, Haldol benedryl & another med I wasn't familiar with. The physician lied & then said she accepted him to keep him from being arrested & That was a lie!! The officer knew my son from previous baker acts from my address so he wouldn't have been arrested he would have been taken to Baptist where he should have gone. I told her I wasn't coming to get my son by myself after he had been given all those meds. She then threatened to call DCF on me if I didn't come get him. I told her to go right ahead because, I'm a retired DCF investigator. I haven't abuse nor neglected my son in anyway. If anything I need to report her for failure to contact me as the health care surrogate of my son after giving him medication he clearly couldn't give consent for & she failed to contact his legal guardian which JSO was provided with all that Info. I am very displeased with the way I was treated & spoken too!!!

Was taken in very quickly. Tests were done very fast. Dr. Listened to my concerns. Nurses were very pleasant and helpfull.

What terrible attention. only if you die and do not see where they take you will go to this place. they treat you badly At reception, they leave the person whit you in the waiting room outside and it takes hours for them to attend to you so as not to solve anything. When we walked into this emergency room. The first thing I noticed was how dirty the waiting area was.. my son checked in.. we set down for 10 minutes. I want to the restroom the restroom was dirty walk out of the restroom told my son we was leaving .because if this hospital look like this on the outside I could imagine what it look like in the back.. left there and went to HCA on Normandy. And the one on Normandy was very clean we was in and out of there in no time. Would not recommend the HCA on 103rd.

I went to the HCA Memorial Emergency Department (Atlantic & Kernan) on Memorial Day. I was experiencing atrial fibrillation. I was seen almost immediately and placed on a monitor. An ekg was done. IVs were started. I was given fluids, heparin, and meds to lower my heart rate. Eventually I was shocked back into normal sinus rhythm. I was also diagnosed with diabetea having a blood glucose level over 400. I was transferred to the main hospital for further treatment and observation. Every single provider was kind, caring, and professional. I highly recommend this Emergency Department.

Our first night of vacation was spent in this ER. I was blown away by how incredible the staff was. Attentive, kind and caring. Clean free standing facility. Shout out to everyone who helped us. You made the worst start to a vacation a little less stressful.

I could have figured; it would eventually get like this. It’s UF& SHANDS go figure. I waited as told , checked in on the computer like I was told , and the nurse skipped me and several person in the waiting room we were ask to sign in ourselves and others literally walked up and just sat down and she got them checked in and in rooms quickly. Don’t know whats that about, but I didn’t like it. L

The physician was in such a hurry that he didn't spend 2 minutes with me. I complained about having ring worm . I was prescribed a medication which can't be used on the scalp. Was just so confused. The pharmacist had to tell me what to take out of her experience

I've been in this ER for almost 5 hours. I have a piece of metal in my eye. I have watched this ER clear out all patients from when I came in and 9 more that came in after me.

Front desk staff desperately need customer service training. For an ER they are entirely unhelpful in an actual emergency and very dismissive. I walked out and took my daughter to be seen at Baptist instead, which was 20 minutes away but they are far more reputable and empathetic. Worth the drive and thankfully the doctors found what was wrong.

The staff were AMAZING my 2 year old son fell and had a big gash on his head they were really attentive to him and got to us quickly! The nurses went over and above even sang him songs about dinosaurs while he got his stitches! Hope we don't have to go back but in an emergency this will be my first stop

Very weird berating treatment by some of the staff at this ER. One nurse literally walked out the double doors to the main ER waiting room and glanced around at everyone and said “It feels Gross out here!” with a disgusted look on her face. I’ve been here maybe two times before and never experienced the treatment I did recently! Used to have way better treatment towards patients. It’s actually funny I used to go to and also recommend others go to a different ER. I will be doing so again. Since they got their little makeover in the ER they treat people totally different.

My care was exceptional. I required a lot of "Hands-on" help and the staff was Always cheerful in assisting my clean-up requirements. All testing on site ran smoothly with the staff talking to me to keep me calm, VERY Professional! If needed, I will return.

Have been here twice 1) having to have stitches on my forehead 2) daughter showed signs of severe strep and both times we didn’t have a long wait and all staff were very friendly and there to help! Happy to be coming up the road here instead of all the way downtown.

While the techniques were helpful and professional, the doctor on staff didn't even listen to my heart or chest, which is were I was having a coughing fit. I left with minimal instructions and no useful prescription. Went to my family doctor on Wednesday and get a good check-up with prescriptions that are helping. Sorry to say this experience was poor.

I had a very pleasant experience with my 13 y/o son. The whole visit took only 2 hrs form start to finish. Every one I dealt with was friendly and attentive. I have been to other ER's before and have not had anywhere near the positive or timely experience as this one

I have been a patient here few times. Most experience has been good. Most recent involved a rude, judgemental Nurse Practioner, Marie, who was the first one to me. She immediately violated my HIPPA rights in the lobby area trying to do intake there, where there are video cameras. I didn't have anything to hide, but I know my rights. I asked to go back to the designated private area for patient intake. Her response, "Why, we are the only people in lobby"? (( It's an ER. Anyone could walk in at any moment.)) There was no legitimate reason for her treatment and handling. I refused to discuss in public area, but she was in an "interrogation" posture in lobby. Her legs spread, arms crossed, standing over me in a semi-block so my body didn't have room to move. More like a interrogation at police station. It was so awful that I chose to leave the facility since it felt like a police station. I'm a retired Healthcare professional corporate mgmt early senior. Do better, HCA.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I received their bill for service 5/5/2022 and immediately called to request itemized bill with CPT codes (required by my Health Sharing Plan) It is now 8/4/2022 and despite my numerous calls, emails and more calls, I do not have the itemized bill that I need. Now they are sending me demand letters for non payment.

Would post zero stars if possible. Would not recommend this hospital to your worst enemy. Took 4 hours just to get back and get a room for my husband. Triage/ ER lobby and nurses station do not seem to communicate as triage/ lobby staff seem seriously ill informed. Left my husband in a room for 7 hrs and did not offer him water, ice, a pillow or blanket.

The absolute worst care I have ever received from a doctor in my life. I came in severely sick and was advised to for care after testing positive for covid at home. My nurse was great. They got me back quickly. However, once the doctor came in she instantly started giving me attitude. Her first question to me was “why would you think it’s ok to come here?” She told me I shouldn’t have come here. I’ve exposed her, her staff, and anyone who comes into this room after me. I should have stayed home and she doesn’t understand why I am “not aware of that” and that I have to “tough it out.” I will NEVER return to this hospital even if it was a life or death situation.

We had a wonderful experience last year but I am updating my review. We received a collections notice today after repeated calls to HCA billing department who told us they would bill our insurance (I have calls documented with who we spoke with). Mind you, I provided the card to the registration clerk during our visit. We have been to this facility a few times with the same insurance. So I can't understand why this last bill just can't seem to make it to the insurance company. I have been in the business for 20+ years and have never experienced this. It's such a shame because the service by the clinical staff are superb.

This Facility is SET on ruining your credit. I went here after a car accident and was fully covered by my insurance and they have sold my debt (which should have been 100% covered by insurance) to the RUDEST debt collection place. I have tried calling the debt collection place and ask for PROOF OF DEBT and they claim they have been sending me things in the mail pertaining to these bills and I HAVE NEVER RECIEVED ANYTHING. I am 20 years old and my credit has been ruined BY THIS FACILITY.

I walked into this clinic back in February 2021. Filled out my paperwork and waited in the lobby to be seen. I ended up walking out because they were so rude when handing in my paperwork that I decided to just go to the emergency room. Today I was sent a bill for $205.45 from a collection agency. I have never even received a bill!!! Let alone I never saw a doctor or a nurse at this facilities. This is fraud!!!! Avoid this place, they are scamming people. What am I being billed for? Walking in and walking out in the lobby or for simply filling out paperwork???

This place is a joke they don’t let any family members that not even spouse or immediate family they say that they’re going to give you updates and they don’t I sat in the waiting room at the trauma for 4 1/2 hours before I got an “update” on my husband and then had to turn around and come back again. So again no visitors at all back in the er or trauma there is no patient advocacy and the staff is so completely rude. Patient care is terrible, if I got shot outside this hospital I would request to be taken somewhere else this place is a joke.

I was refused care at the UF wild light urgent care in yulee. I had made an appointment and they called and canceled it. They said the doctor did not want to see or treat me.
I went to the Emergency Room for treatment. The registration staff was very friendly and helpful. I was registered within 10 minutes of arrival. I waited maybe another 30 minutes, if that, to be called back. Dr. Beardsley came to see me very quickly after being taken to a room. He was very friendly and thoroughly explained my treatment with me. The nurse was very nice as well. She went over the discharge instructions and made sure I understood everything.
It was a very quick visit and everything was great. I wish every ER visit went as smoothly as this one did. I think I was there between 1 to 1.5 hours. I would definitely recommend this ER.

What they do here is illegal. I used Medicaid when I went to St. Vincent's ER back in March 2019. Medicaid paid my bill 100%. Got a secondary bill from a doctor I don't recall seeing. Sent it back with my insurance information on it. Didn't hear anything else from them. I checked my credit score in July, it was already in collections. My insurance company says they have no right to do that since they paid and agreed upon amount already and they also have no record of this bill whatsoever. So they are just trying to scam people out of more money for service their health insurance has already paid for. So grimey...

Yes this company is set to rip your credit score to shreds be very careful dealing with them. They are not helpful and will throw everything back to your insurance company. I have NEVER used their services yet received a bill from them. Called them they were to straighten it out. Now I am in collections. I have deal with the collection agency and they post on my credit report! All because of their laziness in not fixing their mistake! Maybe I should just get a lawyer...
