I truly enjoy working with the Residents of Livingston Place, it brings such pleasure assisting them in anyway possible!
My wife works at Livingston Place and she loves working with the residents and staff.
We was referred here for the ultrasound and labor and delivery service. The ultrasound department is really nice on time and professional to both parents. The labor and delivery department was outstanding the rooms was clean and updated the nurse even set up a sleeping area for me ( Dad) which was really nice and made sure I was comfortable. the nurses was professional and compassionate with my girlfriend when she was in pain. the doctors did a really good job with the delivery of my daughter they even let me help which was cool. Then we went to the postpartum section which needs to be updated like it was a hole in the wall and the father only got a recliner chair but the nurses was so nice and caring especially the night nurse name Tigist with the birth of our daughter. Even the register and social worker was really nice and helpful. But the food to patients rooms need improvement she didn’t even eat it I always was bring stuff in for her. I would recommend this hospital to have a baby at
I gave birth on 02/11/24 and the experience I had was incredibly wonderful because of the talented, young, extreme professionalism, great communication and Profesional judgment made by the OB/GYN resident on duty on that date Dr. Ajah Chandler, of course with her supper nice and kind hearted team. I have also noticed that the teamwork and collaboration of departments' (including Nursing) was smooth and great. Over-all am really greatful and they owe me THANK YOU to all who took care of my baby and I. Thank you GBU!
My experience was very poor. I was aware that my loved one was being neglected and when I asked about it I was told to lower my voice. I don’t think anybody would lower their tone when their loved one is being abused. So I became irate, as anyone would be! I would get to the bottom of all this. Higher authority needs to be involved and they will soon
Conditions are not the best. Could do with painting and replacing drapes around the beds ,it's dull and depressing.
We had the misfortune of having both Neha Sullivan and Oghenetega Esegine assigned to my mother. The first miscreant responded to my question about my mother’s labs by telling me she didn’t know and she didnt memorize them. What a ridiculous vile thing to say to a worried family member. She refused to acknowledge her nasty snarky disgusting behaviour. The Esegine one is barely out of residency and doing an incredibly poor job. She was unkind, crass, cruel and disgusting like her colleague. She refused to come and talk with us for hours. Just an awful individual. I hate that either of these vile disgusting miscreants had any part in my mother’s care
My mother lives at LP@SA. She LOVES it!!
my dad is there i don’t like this place it’s not clean at all they don’t take care of the patients like they should they feed them cold food patients get their personal belongings stolen a lot of the patients hang in hallways and around front door asking everyone that comes in for money staff parking in visitors parking space visitors have no where to park only one elevator works the place is horrible
The operator Danita is rude and unprofessional. She is a stain on Howard’s name and she needs to be terminated. She doesn’t listen, overtalks you and puts you on hold when she loses patience. She works in a hospital not a call center she needs to be trained. I will be calling the joint commission about my overall experience and what I saw while I was there. This call would have never been placed if Danita wasn’t nasty,
I NEED TO GIVE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS WHERE DO I START THIS PLACE IS VERY TERRIBLE THE STAFF HERE DONT CARE ABOUT THE RESIDENTS THEY WILL LITERALLY SIT THERE AND LET THEM PATIENTS DIE MY FATHER WAS THERE AND HE WAS SICK YOU THINK THIS PLACE DID ANYTHING ABSOLUTELY NOT IT TOOK FOR MY SISTER MOTHER AND I GET ON THEM TO DO THEIR JOB. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN RIGHT NOW AND NEVER REOPENED. I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE HAS DIED IN THE SUPPOSED CARE OF CAPITAL CITY NURSING HOME.
I'm currently a resident and President of Resident Council / this facility has been through some changes and has alot more changes to go through but all-in-all the place has gotten ALOT BETTER since before the last three Administrators.

Yeah I've been here a little while.
LOL
I gave birth on 12/20/2023. Many nurses and doctors were nice/ well-rounded, others could have been different. Unfortunately, shift changes were difficult for me because these professionals were not communicating with each other as they are suppose to. My experience was overall bad but I tried to stay positive given the fact that my son was having seizures and no one told me of the episodes until 3 hours after they were happening. I asked what the procedure was from what I believe was the supervising pediatrician at the time, Dr. Wonodi. It was stated (while another professional stood witnessing our conversation) that it was more important to take care of the patient first then notify family. This is understandable if the patient was an adult, this was a newborn and the mother (myself) was only around the corner from the NICU. It was stated that it was so “busy” but that it was an “emergency.” An emergency is enough to notify the parent within a 3 hour period when I’m nearly 15 feet away from the NICU. I also pondered if anyone would have told me if I ever asked to see my baby, timing that the episode “started” 9am, timing that I asked to see my child was 12pm which Dr. Jane was the pediatrician in the NICU at the time. This was heartbreaking that I wasn’t able to see him at first due to being placed on a medicine that causes extreme fatigue, but it was more heartbreaking that my sister could not bring him in due to his condition which I did not know of. Dr. Jane came in stating she wanted to give me an “update,” it’s not an update if I was never notified in the first place. This experience was rough and the NICU should consider better supervision.
Next, I was not given directions on how to take care of myself when it pertains to stitches, symptoms to look for pertaining to infection, etc. I was sent home with info on preeclampsia of course because it must’ve been more serious. I also noticed few doctors or nurses walking around with no identification in sight. I actually explained to one nurse about this because I didn’t know how to explain who the doctor was that came in and asked me questions. With this being said, I also thought it was important that no one cared to pick up my items which laid on the counter from the night before I was discharged. (blood work) and these other items in my room given the fact that I believe it’s a HIPPA violation to leave these things around unattended where they can be slipped out of the hospital and into the wrong hands.(pictures to show). I was also bedridden for those days and it’s understandable that the nurses did not want me getting up but who wants to sit in their own blood on top of sheets of disposable paper products AND can’t shower or wash/wipe at all and you’ve been there for two days?(I was not given or offered any depends or sufficient bottoms when I needed them the most) I had to complain which only made me seem ignorant. I think the worst part of this all was the fact that I only wanted to see my son and no one cared of this fact being as though he was being transferred to Childrens Hospital. Instead, I probably portrayed this angry new mom but in turn, I was concerned for the newborn child I just gave birth to and only held for 10 minutes before he was taken from me to go to the “Transitional Unit” which he ended up in the NICU without my knowledge. Thank You to all the nurses and doctors who shared support and care in taking care of myself and my son.
The facility is EXTREMELY understaffed, no diversity (other nationalities) amongst the staff. Slow communication between staff, patient and family. Security is more relaxed then they should be.

Do your research and due diligence before deciding to place your loved one in this facility.
This hospital is TERRIBLE. My mother recently had eye surgery and they scheduled her for 2:30pm. It's a 30 minute surgery. It took them 13 FREAKING HOURS to get to her REGARDLESS of how much pain she was in. Then on top of that, the African nurse was ENTIRELY rude and aggressive and was rushing my godfather to come get us so she could go home (Like we wanted to be there any longer). Then I had to dress my mother since she apparently wouldn't. Then she has an appointment every month to check on her eyes. If we get here at 11am, we leave at 6pm. They're just awful and rude. Those bathrooms are creepy and filthy as well.
Great place for the needy. They want to put everyone in a box. You can’t put everyone in a box.
Livingston Place I thank you for all you do for me and more!
Do not work here. The Hr lady does NOT do her job. She will act like she communicating with you but she’s only looking at for herself. She doesn’t even correct time sheets. The administrator of the building is clueless what’s going on behind closed doors. People look out for each other and unfortunately people there are to comfortable and you will be shoved under the bus. The pays not worth being a body. Being mistreated. They HR department doesn’t do their job and nobody cares what you have to say or do in that building. AVOID working here!! You will lose money to a union. You don’t get benefits if you want a $3 increase. Terrible! terrible! Place to work. Do not even bring family here
Confrontational entrance desk worker ´¨Shirley´´ is very unprofessional- with combative communication. Unpleasant .. I don't recommend leaving your love ones here. If complaints aren't important that means all behavior is accepted and verbal abuse is overlooked.
My brother is housed at this facility and if I had to rate it I would definitely give them a 0. Though this facility is run the government, it should be shut down. It smells of feces every time I go visit my brother. The workers seem to just not even care of the smell and how some of the individuals look whether they are in their rooms or just sitting in the hallway. Every time I visit my brother, he’s constantly in his bed and according to him, he never recalls going to therapy. The Mayor and City Council should be ashamed of themselves for having human beings houses like this. I feel the powers to be feel since this place is located in the corner of S.E DC they carry the notion “out of sight out of mind”.
Under Staff
Here at HUH for the first time for a dermatologist appointment. When I walked in the front door, the man behind the information desk called me over and gave me a sticker/badge to wear inside the hospital. I said it was my first time here and was looking for Suite 4300 to see the dermatologist. He mumbled something under his mask, and I asked him to speak up as I couldn't hear him well. He mumbled again and I had to ask him to speak up a second time. Finally, he spoke loud enough for me to understand I needed to walk to the back of the building and take the rear elevator up to the 4th floor.

Once I got to Suite 4300 it wasn't much better, unfortunately. The two ladies behind the check-in counter looked up when I walked in and then looked back down at their paperwork. I walked over and said "Hi! I'm here for my appointment to see.." and was immediately cut off. One of them said, a bit curtly, "We'll be with you in a moment" and went back to her paperwork. I stood there for a few minutes until one of them put her papers aside and asked me for my name and ID. I got checked in pretty quickly after that as I had filled out all my info online ahead of time. I was then brought into the back within a few minutes by the nurse.

From that point on, it was smooth sailing with a really great nurse and doctor experience. Solid appointment overall, but the first two interactions I had with the information & check-in staff both felt awkward. It was like I was bothering them by just being there doing what one is supposed to do when they come in for an appointment. First impressions matter, and I think it's important for any hospital to staff those frontline positions with friendly and helpful folks.

While there are some nice things about this facility such as gardens, food, and activities the nursing staff and aides leave much room for improvement. My mother was there for rehab and while she did receive rehab, there were days when she had to wait hours to receive help with wet pullups ( sometimes as much as 4 hours ) and problems getting basic ADL's completed. This is terrible for the person recovering to feel you are alone in a place designed to assist you. A much more egregious error took place here as well and attempts to file a complaint have certainly not been made easy. The licensing person listed on the wall who you can contact to file a report is deceased.I know no place is perfect and I was there as much as possible several times a week but this place needs to hire more compassionate staff and more competent ones.
Not very satisfied. tried and tried and tried to understand why services are not to satisfaction. I just can't understand why. NO LONGER A 5 STAR for me. I can't even get a return call from a case manager, dietician, physical therapy, or the administrator. (You don't have access to the voicemail is not a good enough excuse for me.)

The support staff do as much as they can but they can only do so much.
Understaffed, stressful, and very dirty ER.

I don’t think I’ve ever been to a hospital where I’ve feared so much at the idea of getting a staff infection. It is truly a filthy environment and I’m pretty sure it fail to meet the standards in which hospital’s cleanliness should be governed.

It’s obvious from the accumulation of shown in these photos that the hospital haven’t been cleaned in quite s ome time (months most likely).

I literally stood the entire time (8 plus hours) I was in there; out of fear that something worst may crawl on me and go home with me and be more detrimental to my health than the reason I was being seen.

I’d recommend if given the option to go another hospital in the future; to please do so. Could be the difference between life and death.
Great customer service, very good experience overall....highly recommended 👌
Not a lot of positives about this place, at least the food isn't bad, just glad my grandmother is home now.
Great Community and Great staff.
Wonderful place to work. Very professional environment. Outgoing staff. They offer Multiple positions so every one will have a job and many opportunities for growth
Great place to work. Friendly, professional staff. I would recommend Community Care to anyone looking for pediatric nursing care.

Nasty. The food was awful. I highly recommend
Hiring your own private duty at home. My mothers apartment had mold everywhere. After she passed away, we were cleaning up an saw it
Under her closet area where her shoes had been
And on her her clothes in the back of closet.
I call and talked to someone just to find out if I could visit my relative. I am aware of the covid-19 restrictions. However, I didn't know if they had been lifted or not. The lady I talked to was VERY RUDE. She need to have some kind of training on how to talk to people that call the facilities about their love ones. Because if she treated me that way then how is she treating my family member.
My then 97 year old mother moved to Grand Oaks a year ago and she has had an excellent experience at Grand Oaks. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the facilities are like a good hotel.
My Mom and I made the decision in January, 2020 to try the Grand Oaks’ 60 day Respite Stay Program as a way of “testing the waters” in her transition to a retirement community environment. We were both impressed with the level of personalized care she received with occupational and physical therapy as well as the friendliness of the staff and the true neighborhood feeling – including social activities and fine dining! In March, she made the decision to become a permanent resident of Grand Oaks just prior to the COVID 19 “stay at home order” from the DC Mayor. Initially, I experienced some trepidation; the media accounts of the rampant spread of the Corona virus among elderly populations was downright terrifying. But, I was constantly reassured to know my mom was safe at Grand Oaks – especially with the proximity to Sibley Memorial Hospital and Johns Hopkins.

I am so grateful to the Director, Laurie Henley and the entire Grand Oaks’ team for their professional leadership, creative problem solving and “above and beyond” efforts for keeping my mom well. As a family member, I receive regular email communications with the latest status of the residents and the facility, including regular COVID testing for all. Laurie recently hosted a family webinar where we heard from the team leaders of each aspect of the community and we had an opportunity to ask questions. I know that the safety and well-being of my mom and her fellow residents is the top priority of the entire staff – whether its providing help in setting up telemedicine visits with my mom’s doctors or even in lending a hand to set up her TV so that she can tune into the Washington Nationals games – everyone really tries to be there for my mom. That is reassuring, especially when I know that I cannot be physically present with her now. In spite of all of the COVID 19 uncertainty and the safety restrictions in place from the DC Government, I believe that Grand Oaks is doing a great job. And even though it still is too risky for visitors to come into the facility, we’ve all found new ways to communicate with our loved ones.

The residents just don't know how much oil and unhealthy practices and violations that goes on in the kitchen hostle work environment the cook is nasty to the waitress and dosent wear gloves also saw him throw broccoli in a steamer without a pan the bottom was nasty shame on them..
Management is great. Servers in dining room are very accommodating and friendly. The meals are remarkably good. Apartments are roomy and well cared for. The font desk staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.
Grand Oaks is a stand out community. They show great care for the residents and commitment to detail. Residents are always smiling and looking their best. There are fantastic food choices for the residents during meal times and the activities provided give the residents a high quality of life.
The day nurse for my husband doesn’t want to answer questions such as what’s his BP. What’s his number after taking his sugar. I have been here since 12 noon, it’s after 4 and he still hasn’t received his glucerna.
En vida senior me encanta en su lugar para uno distraerse quitarse el estrés divertirse bailar yo me relajó mucho cuando voy allí
I visited my great aunt yesterday and had lunch with her. I had never been and was VERY impressed! Everyone was so friendly, the residents were all smiling and the food was excellent. It put my mind at ease seeing how well they care for residents. You can tell they like what they do.

My mother rehabilitated here after total hip replacement and I have nothing but gratitude and respect for the excellent care she received. The skilled nursing staff was professional and caring, the social and cultural activities were of a very high quality, the food was delicious and nutritious and the onsite a Physical and Occupational therapy facility was so convenient and expertly staffed.
Thanks to everyone at Forest Hills for providing a real home to the residents and short termers as well.
I went there years ago and never recieved any help i would give them zero stars if i could

Senior Center located in Adams Morgan neighborhood. This center has been around for over 30 years and is well attended. They provide breakfast and lunch for seniors as well as many planned and coordinated daily activities.
This is a professional, family oriented business. I would highly recommend it for pediatric nursing care.

For senior...
Great place. The staff cares for the people they serve.
Overpriced and misleading. We really wanted to like this place, but moved because of all the issues. The kitchen was shut down for several days due to "vermin infestation". We went weeks with no hot water in the apartment. The elevators are regularly out of order. The staff turnover rate is very high, indicative of deeper problems with the management and institutional leadership. If you need any actual care they tell you to hire a private duty aide, driving the expense to unsustainable heights. There are better options in the area when it comes to care, cost, comfort and safety.
