Ceviche was fresh and flavorful with reasonable price. The price of crispy fried whole fish was better than many restaurants we went. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

I just realised that I don't like this restaurant name.
It gives me a feeling of unease and weird; so I feel like it does not belong to me at all on account of describes the person who takes it.

I’m wondering if anyone else had similar experiences; just had a beer and left.
Great hidden gem in Playa del Carmen. I came her looking for the ceviche in town and I found it. The octopus ceviche was fabulous. The attention from Ivan and Jesus and their staff made our lunch in Playa del Carmen super fun. My husband loved the fish tacos and the presentation. Big thumbs up. Unpretentious place with great food.

The food is OK, could be better for the prices they charge. 150 pesos to rent a lounge chair for the whole day on the beach is not bad though. The waiters will bring out your food too.

The prices matched with the location make this a great choice for a day on the beach. Come before noon to secure front row seats. Prices are very reasonable and the servers are pleasant. If they don’t come around all the time it’s because they are busy but they are obviously try to get you everything you need. We paid $950 MX for 7 chairs but they usually charge $300 or less for two chairs, a table and an umbrella.
The best fish / cerviche restaurant in Playa del Carmen without a doubt. We went on the first day from a recommendation and it was incredible.

We tried other restaurants but kept coming back here because the food is far better, for less $$$! Great service, we have some serious allergens / dietary requirements in our group and they were able to cater to everything (gluten, milk, maize and more).

They will let you pick your fish / lobster etc out and the prices are very fair. A must visit when in Playa del Carmen!

This place is okay. It's a fair price. They food is alright but nothing to brag about. The view is good. They definitely try to get you to order more food than what you order at 1st. My wife just wanted one taco and a small ceviche and the waiter kept insisting she order more tacos. I ordered a fried fish fillete it was okay I've had better. Overall it's an okay place to go. The drinks were the only thing I can honestly recommend.
Had a great dinner there! Ordered shrimp and octopus ceviche. Good price, not too busy.

Escape the craziness of the touristy streets. Just maybe 4 blocks away from 5th Ave. Fresh seafood. Friendly staff. Very affordable prices.

Neighborhood was a bit sketchy, so I would be extra careful walking in the dark if you are solo traveler but you are completely fine during the daylight, and if you are in a pack during the evening time.

Aucune anticipation !
Terrible service, not only unpolite but rude and offensive. Not recommended at all, there are much better places in playa

These were the BEST tacos and cocktails we had in town! The food was so delicious - fresh and tasty seafood, great cocktails and amazing service! The prices were great too! Definitely make a stop here!
Can fully recommend the place. We had some seafood tacos, and they were all delicious. If you’re curious to what the ”Paciflora” is (as I was), it’s shrimps on a stick with some spices and lemon to snack while drinking your beer.
We were craving tacos, they weren't very tasty, had a bland flavor, Margaritas tasted like they just opened a can of Margarita Topo Chicos.
Get away from 5th Avenue and visit this fantastic family run restaurant. Super friendly, used by locals and visitors alike. Great fresh seafood, choose your fresh fish that is cooked in any style and flavour you like. Try mayan style beer that the locals drink or any other drink from the very reasonably priced menu. Thank You Valentino for making us feel dol welcome.
Our Indian dive master Sunil recommended this place to us and we enjoyed our lunch there. The homemade lemonade with less sugar was good, the grilled seafood platter with lobster came with rice and salad, a garlic dip and tortillas - quite complete. We liked that it was breezy and relatively quiet compared to the restaurants nearer to the beach. My only complaint is that they do not take credit card payment - fair enough- but when you pay the bill did not add up. For example, how did 640+120=850??? But most days you wouldn’t bother to actually add up the amount. I only thought about it when I was in the toilet. I could only conclude that they added the optional tip to the amount on their own. I would tip anyway, but I prefer not to be tipping without being asked, especially as I would end up tipping more without realising it. The other seafood eatery Son Jarochos did the same thing so this time I was more alert.
Excellent food and service. The food is very fresh and well prepared! The waiters are very nice and helpful. They even helped us pay the parking meter across the street. Only issue is it's an open space on a relatively busy street and the TV was playing music very loudly. We'll still be back because the food is delicious!
Muy buenos mariscos a muy buen precio. La atención es muy buena y se preocupan por atenderte de la mejor manera! Excelente lugar!
best seafood we’ve had in playa del carmen! staff is super attentive and friendly, live music was awesome. the Seafood Platter was gorgeous and everything was fresh and tasted amazing (like another review said, it can feed 3-4, and we had some for takeout)! Everything else we tried (tacos, mango margerita, and shrimp avocado appetizer) were also delicious. Definitely recommend! Thank you Sergio and everyone else!
We dropped in to try some seafood. We tried the crab and snails in the garlic sauce. Both plates were quite large, coming with rice and vegetables. The crabs were small so there was not much meat in them. The snails were really big and tasted good. Food comes with the complimentary nacho chips and dip.

Favourite ceviche and seafood place in PDC. We found this place back in 2021 and were really happy that they were still in business during our recent trip in 2023. We came back several times during our stay! Great food and reasonable prices. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.

A high bar is set at Rosewood Mayakoba but Agave Azul finds a way to meet and exceed. Diego (manager) and his team were so attentive to us and our one year old. We came here a few years ago and it was just as impressive. Also, for any parents looking at reviews this is the best kids menu on property.

I've eaten here twice in a week, it's so good! Once I dined in and once I ordered to go. The portion sizes are great! The fish tacos are delicious.
Very good food and nice place to see the beach. Just a little pricey but thats typical for the beach front restaurants. Drinks were pretty weak as well.

Terrible experience! No service what so ever, labels missing on some of the food, so you don't know what is being served, and the food is ok. I do not recommend this place at all
Wow, service was super friendly & professional. Waiters busboys, everyone. Very few places have provided such amazing service in Playa del Carmen. The food was very good.

Went last night for a walk in. Staff was super rude and unaccomidating. Restaurant was empty at 715 due to severe storms/monsoon weather but they refused to let us wait for a cancellation as they were confident no one would cancel. We stopped by 90 minutes later and the restaurant was still empty.
Un lugar muy tranquilo y familiar, precios accesibles y la comida muy buena... Lo recomiendo

First night with @intrepidtravel group and our guide had booked a table for all of us at #biglobster in #playadelcarmen
I ordered the tikin chik as recommended by our guide. Winner winner chicken dinner. Delicious tender chicken Mayan flavours wrapped in foil. To accompany my meal was the obligatory #margaritawithlime
Location: central to all the local amenities. Wheelchair accessible. Toilets on site. Kid friendly. Most dietaries catered for.
Service was exceptional. Prices are steep but what you’d expect ‘on the strip’. A 20% surcharge was a surprise and many not happy about.
Great experience and food. Staff are the nicest and coolest ever!!!!

WoW! I loved this place. Drinks are amazingly great. We ordered drinks a bunch of times. We also ordered Tortilla and Guacamole as appetizer and fried fish as main course and they were wonderfully tasty. I can say this dinner was the most tasteful dish that I had in Mexico. I REALLY RECOMMEND IT. Don’t miss your chance of tasting authentic foods of places such this.

WONDERFUL STAFF 👌 but, as it turns out, this place clearly is taking advantage that people pay upwards of $1,400/ night USD to stay at the Rosewood. Rock shrimp and sushi roll with eel was about $75 USD w/o tip. Dry sushi rice, solid fried shrimp, but not worth $32 lol.

Decor was similar to a Red Robin or Olive Garden from 10 years ago, maximum chewgy. This is for people who haven’t had good food and are enamored by the resort 🤷‍♂️
Killer tacos! Every bite just gets better. Would have more pics.. if I carried my phone every time I ate here.

We loved to spend our late mornings and early afternoons at this place! This was our favorite place to chill by the beach. Relaxing atmosphere, friendly non-pushy service (special THANK YOU to Gabriel), good food, and relatively quiet settings.

You pay 250 pesos per chair, and that includes 200 pesos you get back in food and drink credits - very reasonable, especially providing that their food is pretty good!

Absolutely amazing food, drinks & beach views! The Brisas Restaurant located in the beautiful Mayakoba Resort. We stayed at the Fairmont Mayakoba. The Brisas food was so fresh. I recommend the ceviche, the fish and the shirmp. So delicious! We can't wait to back again!

First of all the views are stunning, especially as the sun is coming up. However, since the place doesn't open for breakfast until 8am, you will miss it unless you rock up early and wait it out. They really are missing out on an incredible opportunity here by opening later. Even if they were to just have a tea/coffee station until they actually began service. Breakfast was surprisingly delicious. I say surprisingly because we came to Brisas the night before for dinner and the menu was poor. The food was impeccable but not sure what theme it was. Tapas gone wrong? I digress, breakfast was top notch. In fact I would have rather seen the breakfast menu for dinner.

We loved it here! Damian and others are hard working and always around, attentive service. Beach is rocky but just walk a bit to your right for a nice sand entry. Cover was only 350 pesos per person and you can stay the whole say. 300 pesos of that 350 is used for food/drinks . So nice to spend the day there!
If we found this place on our first night, we would go and dine or have dinner every day we stayed in Playa. It’s located just a few steps off crazy 5 Av!!!!
Delicious , very reasonable priced. Not too much lime in everything. Steak shrimps, octopus were excellent!!!!
If you are tired of choosing and being not sure where to go, do yourself a favor, try this place out, eat where locals eat!
Sergio was a wonderful friendly server, quick to help with anything we needed. We enjoyed everything on the buffet

My partner and I came here after seeing it highlighted on a blog of places to eat in Playa del Carmen. Our waiter was so nice and also spoke English. We asked him to recommend dishes, and we ended up ordering the Gobernador and Quesadilla de Merma al Carbon- both were DELICIOUS. We also got an order of shrimp ceviche (in black sauce) and aguachile (in black sauce). The seafood was incredibly fresh and everything was super tasty. Would highly recommend.
The staff at Así is wonderful, the ambiance is perfect there is seating overlooking the water and the food taste soooo good. Everything is fresh! Franco, and Brigilio has been doing an amazing job of taking care of us. I feel like I am with family. Cristsal, Polo, Pedro and Lupita is great! Lupita had Pedro surprise us with blue margarita shots with Tajin around the rim was perfecto! Such an amazing staff with a wonderful experience! 💜💜💜
The staff is friendly and the vieuw amazing. We love having breakfast here, fresh fruit and coffee. Special thanks to Paula, for the honest suggestions and price quotes *edit* we have been fishing, and the crew recommended asi: the food was delicious. Lovely presentation 🫶🏻
We didn’t have the problem with tips, we did get one friendly explanation that the tip isn’t included, and since we’re European the exploration makes sense.
Great place to relax at the beach! Service is very friendly, prices are fair. We paid 600 pesos (2 people) for nice beach beds in the shade. However, you get the money back in consumables. Very fair and nice concept!
Brought them a freshly caught barracuda and they made us fresh ceviche, as well as grilled barracuda with fresh guac, pico, garlic butter sauce, and tortillas. Best meal I had in Mexico. Absolutely incredible.

This place is awesome! Quality meets an awesome price and location. I've been here many times and compare it with other places.
Some rewies complain about the waiting time. Yeah then go to MC Donald's. Fresh food needs time to be prepared.
You will enjoy fresh seafood directly at the beach. Don't miss the special dishes on weekends.

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. This place is HORRIBLE! The staff is rude. The food is beyond disgusting. Everything they serve looks and tastes like it's a week old. The plates are dirty. More than half of the ones we grabbed had left over food on the bottom of them. It takes forever to get your drink order. If you order alcohol, expect to get the worse rot gut alcohol ever made. If you drink champagne, don't expect it to be chilled. Every glass was warm or had ice in it in an attempt to chill it.

I highly recommend staying as far as possible from this place and the hotel it is associated with.
I can’t say enough good things about this property and its staff. It surpassed all my expectations. The restaurant was great, the staff was amazing. Every person who works there really takes pride in their job and wants to make sure you are taken care of. The extreme attention to detail from the staff as my 4yrs old son Eli ran around meeting other guests,  allowed us to  eat our meals without a care in the world as we knew he was in safe hands. We were very impressed with them. Highly recommend and I do believe I will be back. Thank you for your attention and outstanding service 👏.

It's just wasn't that good.. We've ordered 4 dishes including curry ceviche. The ceviche fish's cut was very large, makes it not very comfortable to eat. The rest of the food was nice but simply didn't justify the very expensive price it costs. For scale, we paid less in another fine dining Asian resturant in Mayakoba a night before and got much better exprience and much better service.

So first thing. The online menu is slightly out of date. Just FYI. We loved this place. It has a nice large outdoor space overlooking the lagoon. Great view. The service was fantastic. Everyone went out of their way. The food was just amazing. Delicious. We ordered too much for 2 people but loved it all. The rock shrimp appetizer was big and great. The beef spring roll is so good. It’s four pieces 2 spring rolls. In addition to the regular sauces they made us some additional sauce that was like a slightly spicy aioli. That was great. We had the soft shelled crab and the ribeye. Each of these were a big meal in themselves. The ribeye was sliced seasoned and in a light juice or sauce. Really a great steak. Like you’d get at a great Japanese restaurant. Loved it all and highly recommend.

Entirely unassuming gem - super cheap prices for super high quality food. With the help of Google translate (all Spanish menu), we pieced together an order of various shrimp, fish, and chicken preparations and enjoyed every one of them. Portions were generous for both the food and the drinks; along with the location right on the beach, would highly recommend a visit.
Elkin and Franco are amazing! They both provided us great service and prepared fresh fish for us two days in a row. It was top notch service. From catering to our every need and providing outstanding service with cleaning the table, getting drinks, and even providing bowls of water and likes to wash our hands. So happy with our experience that we’ve come here several times during our trip.

My wife got food poisoning the other night so I went to get some take out food and kind of just splurge the bit of cash we had leftover since we’re flying out the next day. Decided to get something light so I got her a chicken breast with rice and some veggies. The chicken breast was fine, although salted a little more than it should’ve been but fine nonetheless. The problem was the steak. I got a 400 peso steak and it came out rare, (I ordered medium rare) and that’s not a huge problem again cuz I can eat rare steaks BUT it was so oily and 40% of the steak was just fat that would no doubt give myself some diarrhea the next day. The cut of meat was very poor and the chicken was edible but a little too salty. Would not recommend. Not to mention the sad fries it came with.

What I've learned is not every experience is the top experience in the world, I love small Local restaurants and street food to get a taste of both the food and the cultures of the many places I've visited. With that I'd say woth being on one of the most touristy blocks in Playa Del Carmen I'd say make sure they do not take advantage of you and verify prices before the check. Definitely a decent start to a Mexico Trip with a bunch of Local food to try! Not the top quality but a lot of options! 🤟🤤🌮

octupus was ok after asking for a lime. rice was dry and salad only flavoured with olive oil and salt.

Breakfast is OK. No bacon?
Lunch is very poor.
Dinner was inedible. Meat with more fat and gristle than meat.
No variety from day to day.
Tough to get reservations at the regular restaurants.
Service ranges from person to person. From adequately polite to downright rude.
Upsides: on the Main Street good for people watching. Large selection of seafood options. Staff took the time to explain their menu and even show the pre-cooked lobsters and types. Presentation was excellent. Shrimp abs lobster were very tasty.
Downsides: slightly priced up (normal for the Main Street), and the calamari was chewy (amateur mistake for a seafood restaurant).
So, solid choice but didn’t wow me.

The setting is casual and with good taste, specially in the terrace were distinctive furnishings are the norm. We visited on August 14, 2020.

Service is impecable, as you normally find throughout Mexico. The waiters know the menu and they can provide knowledgeable comments and suggestions.

Prices are on the high-end, but that is to be expected of the place (the restaurant is inside the Mayakoba complex in the Riviera Maya). For a dinner for three persons we paid Us$225, including some drinks and dessert.

My only complaint is about one dish we asked but that was not good at all. This was the Tataki de Atún. Flavor for the tuna was lacking and we could not finish the dish at all. In addition, we asked for the chicken satay and the accompanying sauces were flavorless.

Beside that, the sushi is really good and the Ramen was very well prepared.

I would return but would stay wary of dishes with prepared sauces as the chefs are clearly not putting attention to their preparation.

The food was good but horrible service. A family of four was sat in front of us 15 mins after us and they had round the clock service. Our server came every 30 mins. They were serving them like kings. And my husband and I like nobodies. Very much profiling. We are staying here for 3-4 days and decided not to eat at any of the restaurants at Mayacoba ever again. The manager even asked us how our service was, and we voiced our concerns and he didn’t do a thing about it. $84.00 US for a tiny piece of fish, a spoonful of mashed potatoes for my husband, a cup of veggies for me and a full serving mashed potatoes for me (I’m vegetarian so they made me grilled veggies for $18.00) plus a $10.00 US side of mashed potatoes. And two glasses of wine. EIGHT FOUR DOLLARS for that. Omg. Never again. Horrible.
Great beach club! Comfortable chairs, umbrellas and palapa - paolo and Tino provide A+ wonderful service and make excellent drinks! Chairs require $200 peso deposit which can be used to purchase drinks// food. We went back every day of our vacation!
Excelente view. 100 pesos per chair. Great, fresh drinks. Great service! Paolo and Tano are the best!

Wonderful Brazilian restaurant inside the Fairmont Mayakoba!
First of all, the view is fantastic, the restaurant being on the beach.
And the food is exceptional, from the freshly baked bread to the wonderful desserts (try the mille-feuilles).
One advice: don't go on buffet nights - in addition to being expensive, it is not worth it and is not at the quality you will have on other nights with the menu.
Finally, I found at Las Brisas my new favorite cocktail: la Revolucíon- a tasty old fashion mixture on a bourbon base. To absolutely try!

It is all a bit pricey (plan $1000+ / $50+ per person), but it is worth every penny.

Great restaurant overlooking the beach. Friendly staff. Nice cocktails ( "Mule", "Raspberry collins"); had two kids meals (they liked it) & we had 4 starters/sides between the two of us. Had shrimp skewers, hummus made with local produce, grilled asparagus & grilled brocolli. All very very good. For dessert, had a chocolate Mille Feuille & a Tres leche cake. Desserts were Ok - had better Tres Leches cake (it wasnt bad, but the fusion thing with corn/popcorn doesnt work). Total meal plus drinks, desserts came to approx USD $90. Bit expensive but worth it! Anyways, I'd RECOMMEND.
Great place, very authentic, food is also good. Service guys are great.... The only one thing here is unpleasant - hostess that we were seen here for few days was completely unprofessional abd rude, careless. Forget to get a good place to be seated even if the restaraunt is almost empty - she’ll give you a worse windy table with that face you wish to not see anymore. Unless you are local and speak Spanish...

Dirty, unpleasant place, medium food, overpriced. BEWARE OF 15% TAX on top of the bill, see bottom of menu pages. Waiter asked to leave 20% tip, we refused. Very bad experience!
A delicious choice at Fairmont Mayakoba with a great view of the beach! The lamb with the macadamia mash was so flavourful!
Good ceviches. Bad customer service, waiter told my son in law that he should give him 25% tip because the place was pretty busy....(?)

Grateful location, right on the beach but well protected. The food is good. The free bread and cheese dip are great (certainly try the black bread with nuts). Other appetizers are less amazing, panzanella, mashed potatoes certainly skip. The grilled avocado is good. Try the sea bass, lobster and steak. The service is attentive.
Like most restaurants/bars on the beach Playa Maya is also a beach club. We spent the day here and service was great. Price for 2 chairs w/umbrella was $250 peso/$14.00 usd for the whole day (price goes down in the afternoon). Loungers were well spaced. Food was good as well prices reasonable

Quiet cozy modern and tucked away in the jungle of The Mayakoba Rosewood Hotel Resort near Cancun, Mexico. Fantastic service and delicious Asian cuisine. Low lit atmosphere adds to the experience. It's a nice Asian-Latin fusion restaurant. Prices are similar to the ones in the the U.S. Great selection of tequilas, it's a tequila bar too. A bit overpriced in my opinion.
