I have bought several barrels from UB and I can say the quality is amazing. I have use the barrels to make my own meads which have gone on to win brewing competitions. Their products are perfect for small batch experimentation or long term aging.

I had a great experience with Things Engraved getting custom engraving on glasses for a gift. I went to the location on Belgreen Dr. to see if they could customize the engraving more than the online tool was allowing. Will was super helpful in the store to produce some mockup designs for me to review and it was fast turn around time for the engraving. I'm really pleased with the finished product and I'll definitely be back for future gifts! Thanks so much!

Went to get a wedding gift but they havnt updated Google properly and I went there for no reason on a Saturday.

These people advertised a machine as never used. And working. Spent almost 2000 dollars and 12 hours of driving just to get a machine that I Can’t Actually Use. They stopped responding to my messages and will not answer my phone calls.

I purchased a customized barrel from Urban Barrel. Jeff was amazing at communicating and coming up with a design that was exactly what I wanted. The barrel is much better than I could have imagined. If I could give 10 stars I would have. I very highly recommend Urban Barrel !!!!!

I wholeheartedly recommend Things Engraved. Their service is top-notch, and their sales representative, Will, is nothing short of a miracle worker.
I ordered a large shipment of custom engraved glasses for my son's wedding on very short notice. (The fault for the short notice was entirely mine.) Will was able to get the glasses to me, beautifully engraved and carefully wrapped, even sooner than the superhuman deadline he had promised to meet.
Thanks to Will and Things Engraved, my family celebration will have an extra touch of class, and the guests will receive lovely souvenirs. In future, I'll be taking all my business to Things Engraved. I unreservedly encourage others to do the same.

Ordered the 1L Oak Aging Barrel Gift Set very very last minute, and was blown away by the incredible customer service - the communication regarding the engraving and the efficiency of processing and sending the order was top notch. Would definitely support this Canadian company again :)

I recently order a customized flask and shot glass set to give as a gift. The website made it seem like it was a very simple process of customizing the items but when I received the items I was really disappointed with the work done on them. I had asked for the flask to be customized on the front and back only to see that the front was customized and the back was blank. The customization was also slanted on the flask and of course cannot be altered since it was engraved. I was also disappointed to see that the symbol I requested to be on the shot glasses was completely different than what was engraved. If there was an issue with the symbol I requested, I would have appreciated if someone from customer service reached out to me prior to see if I was okay with the symbol they recommended or simply ask if I could remove it from my request rather than assuming that I would like it. I also really dislike the way the font turned out on the shot glasses, it's very uneven and jagged and it's a completely different font color than the font on the flask! I asked for black font on the flask and shot glasses but the flask has silver font (which is partially slanted) and the shot glasses have black font with a symbol I didn't even request. To be honest, the flask and shot glasses do not look cohesive and because of this I wish someone reached out to me first if there was an issue with my request. Overall, I am quite disappointed in this purchase and I have to resort to buying a blank flask and shot glasses to customize on my own with permanent vinyl.

I did choose to give 1 star because I requested expedited delivery and it did arrive before 2 business days. However, the work done on the products was extremely poor and not what I requested.

I ordered a memorial name plate for a portrait being sold to a customer of mine. It took 6 business days to be shipped to me from Ottawa to Ottawa and they put the incorrect year on the plate. I phoned immediately to explain their mistake and that I needed the correct plate asap as I missed a deadline for my customer because of them. No apology and had to email a pic of the wrong plate. I asked to reply with acknowledgement and when the new plate would be on its way. Nothing. Next day phoned again to find out if they received my email. She had forgotten to reply. 5 business days and I still have no plate which was to be shipped from Ottawa to my Ottawa address. Obviously no priority put on something for being their mistake. I never had problems when they had a kiosk.

So happy to have stumbled upon Urban Barrel Company last month as I was looking for a very personalized gift for a good friend. Jeff was quick to answer all my questions beforehand about the products. I ordered a customized barrel a few weeks in advance, understanding the curing process takes time before the product is ready to use. After the curing process, noticed a small leak in the spigot and the contacted Jeff again and he promptly overnighted a replacement (and a spare) spigot so that I would be able to gift the barrel in time to my friend. Rare to see such amazing customer service like this nowadays. Great product and gift idea made in Canada is also a plus!

Just left another review on their Facebook page and you absolutely need to check this company out for all your Barrel needs!, Storage, aging, whatever your needs. Great SERCIVE, great PRICE, great COMMUNICATION, great QUALITY. Also located right here in OTTAWA, no more international hassles, go LOCAL!! Will be growing my collection again very soon. I had ordered a barrel extra early for a birthday gift from another company, paid express shipping (should have arrived 5-10 days), 3 weeks later still hadn't received it and they were of no help at all. Less than a week away, and panicking, I had called, and Jeff was such a great help, they had my personalized barrel out to me in 3 days! Great customer service and a beautiful looking product, definitely have a repeat customer from me in the future.

Ordered engraved gifts 2 weeks prior to Xmas Eve. Was told only takes 5 business days to receive them. Contacted customer service before Xmas Eve to track my order, no response until Dec 29th, just was told they are not responsible for when the order is actually received by the customer.

Haven’t received my order and don’t know when I will. So can’t tell anything about the engraved things ordered. But they have offered the worst online shopping experience I have ever had. No customer care at all!!!Strongly not recommend for any orders from them unless you expect huge disappointment.

Updates:
Received the order in 4 weeks finally (don’t believe their 3-5 business days trap) just to find the engraving was wrong. They put 2005 instead of 2015, so changing 5-year birthday into 15-year!!!

A total garbage and waste!!!

This has always been my go to engraving place, although very expensive, they really are the only ones around. I needed a gift engraved for an event, so I called ahead to make sure they had the item, confirmed engraving costs and time to have it ready, so that I could run in before heading to the event.. Had my husband drop in earlier to prepay so things would be seamless... NOT!! When we returned to pick up the item, my husband ran in and she had it packed in a bag.. So he grabbed it and came out... The store manager had lightly engraved the piece and was hardly visible.. But proceeded to hand us the display model, with no box and no ribbon that the item came with... (Pewter Certificate tube where the bow hides the center joint) I was told they had others in stock, but in all the advanced planning, the manager was not able to "find" the boxed ones.. Until I insisted and waited for her to do so half hour into our event... Was so disappointed, have not been back since.

I ordered some beautiful Christmas decorations about 2 weeks ago, they were a fantastic price. They came fairly fast during this pandemic, only took a week and it was delayed because of Canada Post. The items which were breakable were wrapped really well. Unfortunately 1 of the figurines arrived broken, I emailed the company and they were prompt with their response and are going to send me a new figurine. Fantastic service and customer care. Highly recommend!

I have always found ordering from Things Engraved to be very easy and quick. There is something for everyone on their website. The items have always been great quality. The items i have purchased in the past always arrive before, or right on time without delays. Usually within the same day I order I will recieve a package has been sent email. This last item was a gift, my niece was very happy to receive it.

Fantastic company, couldn't be happier with the product. Jeff has been great, answered all my questions, professional and even allowed me to check out the barrels before purchasing one at a local bar. Customer satisfaction is on point and the barrel looks amazing.

Initially I was told my order would cost one amount, upon pick-up was told it would be double the initial cost. The item was already engraved so I had no choice but to pay for it. No-one from the store contacted me regarding the change and when I went to pick-up the item, it was scratched all over and looked terrible. The customer service with all of this was AWFUL. I do not recommend them and will never be shopping here again.

I am blown away by the beauty of this barrel and it’s craftsmanship. I will be giving this as a gift for Christmas and already am in love with the sleek look and design. It will be a beautiful addition to any bar!

The idea is great but the cost is outrageous. Engraved a mug and it cost over a 100$ as you pay for each letter

Jasmine was amazing. I came to get a key cut and a keychain. She was so helpful and kind and gave me some great ideas for a gift. I had a bad experience with a different key cutting location and she put me in a much better mood.

We had an anniversary gift engraved here and they did a wonderful job. I have come to this Carlingwood location before and much prefer it to the Rideau center location.

The worst ever experience I had. Been told to wait 1 hr for the gift to be engraved, I came after almost 2 hours and been told to wait another 15 min! Even by then It was not finished and sure to take another hour! Had to cancel the order:(
