Perfect little, traditional patisserie with a really delicious sortiment. The owner of the place deserves extra praise. Whenever we visited the shop, she was super lovely and kind towards us. Definitely worth to stop by for an espresso and to try some of the pastries.

Love the pastries here! Definitely try the Alfama Pastry special here, it is sweet but very good when paired with an espresso or coffee. Owner is lovely as well!

no frills pastry shop perfect for a quick breakfast.

we got five pastries and iced coffee for under 10 euros. the pastries were delectable, fresh, and not too sweet. the coffees were fine. those working the counter were helpful and attentive. would love to come back :)
Amazing pastries and an incredibly friendly lady! We took pastel de nata, orange tarts, pastel de alfama and two coffees, it cost us 6.80€. Everything was super delicious, orange ones were to die for😍
Definitely recommend!

Pastel del Alfama cake is a delightful symphony of flavors and textures, with its delicate layers of sponge cake (I think so), creamy custard, and sweet almonds. Its Portuguese heritage shines through in every bite, making it a timeless classic that never fails to captivate the palate.
Oh, do not forget about fantastic coffee!

Extremely rude manager/person at the pay til. The person giving me my pastries was nice, however when I went to pay, the person was incredibly rude, super dismissive, wouldn’t respond to my thank yous or anything. All this considered their pastries are subpar and overpriced. I paid 5 euros for three croissants and got horrible treatment in return. I urge whoever is in charge to pay closer attention to their customer service as it is quite unpleasant to deal with your staff. There are SOOOO many bakeries in Lisbon that are much better quality, service; and price.

Hmmm, went one time and had a very nice financier.

Revisited and had a poor pain au Chocolat. Sadly it has very little flakiness . Frankly it tasted very similar to mass produced one. So disappointing.

I do have high standards and expected something like the ones you get in Ogi in Porto which were fantastic.

Picture is of the Ogi one where you can see the high rise and layers of flakiness.

I came across this bakery while walking through the streets of Alfama. The bakery intrigued me with its offer, in the end I bought a cheese bun and a bun with ham and tomato. It was really tasty, I recommend visiting. The gentleman was very nice, he was probably the owner. The pastry was fresh

I'm sad to say that...food was really nice, hence 4 stars, and we were making plans to go back to this restaurant whilst enjoying our dinner.
Sadly...when the bill arrived things were added and prices were inflated. Then the waiter called Simon started arguing with us over every euro.
We both have good memory and were not drunk, so perfectly able to realise that we were being scammed.
We will not be back.

I wouldn’t really call this a chicken salad. Tastes like a gas station self service low quality pasta salad. too much garlic too much cream not enough salad. Tables not cleared. Foul smell outside.

Hi, another guy tried to be scammed by this restaurant. I ordered an 8.90 dish and wine and water and when I asked for the bill they said 19 euros. I asked for the bill to review and they charged for things that I didn't consume to reach 18.40 euros (not 19 that was an amount clearly invented). I asked for the correction but still they insisted on getting 3.90 for a glass of wine when it was 1.60 saying that it was a 'big glass'

This scum tentative is a enough reason to avoid this place, but the worst was the employee had a very aggressive behaviour when I claimed, he followed me on the street screaming and saying that he could hit me because I said that he was trying to scum me. It was very scary.

I feel bad because the nice city of Lisbon is destroyed by these greedy people

AVOID THIS PLACE

Great atmosphere for sitting. Very central.

Coffee is good.

Service is OK but hard as a tourist ( I used ggoogle translate and made it!)

Went to another location and it was also great. It seems they only sell in menu’s and not seperate items but… might be wrong.

The soup and prawn sandwich is good too.

Impolite when ordering some of their pricey products. Then the quiches get dropped into a normal bag instead of carefully placing it so they don’t break. With an unpleasant: “take” we were told to take our products and pay with the nicer women doing the payments. Food is ok (there are better hip bakeries if needed) but their way to treat people willing to pay their high prices is bad.

I very agree with the someone figured of service attitude. For a dessert coffee shop, a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service are more important. The coffee and the chocolate cake tastes just ok. It’s a good place to have a rest, but not good enough for desserts and coffee.

If there's one thing I can't stand : it's staff making you feel bad for not eating enough. We took 2 little croquettes cause we already had lunch and wanted to try theirs. Dude insisted that we also have coffee and blabla and we said no, so we didn't get the privilege of getting and smile and goodbye.

🦗⚠️ Used to be my favorite neighborhood breakfast place, but not after today. Unfortunately I don't think I'll ever step into this branch again, and maybe the entire franchise.

I was working on my laptop while having my meal, but then noticed that my shirt had a bed bug on it, turns out its from the cushion I sat on in the store. I am so saddened with this because the staff are lovely and super respectful, but this is unforgivable, i had to throw away everything i had on that day and deep clean my laptop
I simply think its the best bakery in Lisbon.

Baguettes, croissants, gateaux, viennoiseries, i recommend everything. I’m just sad its a bit far from my place, i’d go every day.

Wow I love this coffee shop and pastry. It is such. Nice and cozy atmosphere. All of the pastries I had were delicious.
The owner is so friendly and helpful, not to mention brilliant: in the week I spent coming here, I didn’t see him run into a language he couldn’t speak!
I enjoyed my experience at this cafe throughout my stay here in Lisboa. Their cappuccino is delicious sweet balanced and croquette de carne was delicious

A great cafe with an amazing array of dessert and other food choices. Fantastic location and there is plenty of seating most of the time. The pastel de nata was excellent as was the pistachio cake. Highly recommended.
For a quick breakfast is a good option! I already dine in and took away! Fresh food and good organic coffee. I love the “pão de Deus”.

The hot dog was overpriced (12€!!) and sloppy. The sausage inside was not even grilled, and the hod dog in general was just a sausage covered with way too many sauces (just to cover up the raw sausage…). DO NOT recommend at all! I also refused to buy 0,5L of water for 2€!!
No trip to Lisbon is truly complete without savoring their famous pastéis de nata – a Portuguese custard tarts with sweet egg cream in flaky pastry. We tried them at Padaria, conveniently close to O Trevo. These tarts are a common find all around Lisbon. It was creamy and sweet inside, perfectly flaky outside.
Super friendly owner. Delicious food. You are always welcome there!

I was really hungry and came to grab some pancakes and a drink. But was really disappointed. It was so bald did not taste sweet at all. Left it all half eaten because wanted to fill my stomach alittle. And couldn't drink the milkshake after a sip too. Only the desert was the best. The red velvet cake was really good but the pancake and milkshake was not good.

Their hotdogs are a sloppy covered with Mayo and sauce and have no flavour. I got the chili one, not at all hot/spicy and the sausage is boiled and not nice, at least they could have grilled up some traditional Portuguese sausages! My suggestion, skip these guys and go to one of the other amazing local Portuguese fare on offer.

Very nice place with quality and tasty products. The service is very friendly and they help with any questions you might have. Also you can taste some of their specialties. I can’t wait to go back again and again! 😋 the panettone is so good I’m sad I didn’t take more than one.
Great breakfast and prices. Stayed at a near by hotel and came almost every morning. Don’t miss the brownie!

Awful experience. Steak was tough, unable to cut it - left the lot. Caprese salad 😂😂😂 don’t bother, you get a lot of tomato and not much else. However, the two basil leaves were very fresh and tasty. Sardines uncooked in centre and bloody. Seriously, don’t bother. Apart from the basil this place has no redeeming features.

1. The bathrooms are as filthy as the disrespectful behavior of the staff. I usually work here but this morning I was barred from entering by one Pedro Machiato or something. He was speaking in an unfamiliar language. It's sad these people are not taught English. Do they not know that tourism is the only sector keeping Portugal relevant?

2. The drier in the bathroom is excruciatingly noisy, the music is too loud for a cafe and the bathrooms are never cleaned. You don't want to sit on them, if you know what I mean. Also, the locks to the toilets are broken.

3. If you want returning customers, get a fresh batch of staff.

4. The food is bland and expensive.

Liguei prontamente a senhora e pedi desculpas. E peço novamente. Obrigada pela compreensão e espero um dia poder recompensa Los pessoalmente. Obrigada mesmo e mais uma vez, peço imensas desculpas por está confusão.

Caprese salad was a complete joke. Apparently they were out of mozzarella cheese but as I read other reviews they like to always put tiny squares of feta on their tomatoes. Should’ve known then to leave. Cod cakes, cheese, bread, olives appear out of no where and we’re not ordered as they lure you in with low prices and hammer you with all these garbage extras. Would not recommend! Sneaky staff throughout the entire restaurant.
This was described by our tour guide as a must for custard tarts. I only had enough time to get a takeout order, and the tarts were quite tasty. Service was fast, and everything was efficient from ordering to payment. Tarts were warm, even when you take them to go. Overall, they were good, but about the same quality as other places I have had these. They are possibly better fresh while dining in, but that is for another day.
You will have the best Portuguese egg tart of your life here. The delicately flaky and crisp crust and lightly sweet custard filling is the perfect balance. No other tart has been able to replicate the experience I had here! There really is no comparison.

Superb pastel, although frankly, I’ve never had a bad one. This pastel had the best filling around, and was nice and warm (which is honestly one of the most important factors). I’d be hard pressed to say this is the BEST pastel around. But I understand the hype! It was nice and crispy which I like, although it fell apart more than my liking and was definitely the messiest pastel I’ve had.

Overall, amazing pastel and I’d eat a dozen in a heartbeat
Extremely slow waitresses, they've got awful system (each waitress serves one day order), but the food was great - croassant with salmon
Place doesn’t disappoint. The egg tarts definitely are one of the best in Portugal. Don’t forget the cinnamon and powder sugar. Tried some of the other croquettes which were not bad. Ended up going twice. There’s a takeout only with egg tart line if you just want to egg tarts. Otherwise place is always busy.

Um dos cafés mais antigos de Telheiras!
I went here twice in my stay in Belem area. Their pastries are out of the world. The best pastry in Portugal I would say.

I gave it 5 stars to all pastries I tried like pastel de nata and hot chocolate. Also fried pastries like cod fritters, shrimp turnover, fried chicken dumpling is also very good. Specifically for pastel de nata was very crispy crust inside out. The custard is awesome not too sweet. Hot chocolate is thick and super tense. Love it.

The shop was huge and had a lot of seating areas if you don't want to queue up try to go when it opens at 8.00 am. It starts crowded after 10am with long queues.

A mixed range of customer service I met very attentive and friendly staff which was different from the previous day.

Overall still impressive and 5 stars for me :)
Great choice, fresh, not expensive! 2 half sandwiches of choice + soup + drink for only 8,50!

What a delight to discover this French bakery in Lisbon! Like many reviewers have said, just as good as the great bakeries of Paris. The croissant was flaky, buttery, and chewy, and the escargot pastry with cinnamon had just the right amount of sweetness and spice…
But the real winner was the crusty rustic rye bread! While Lisbon has many great bakeries for pastries, I find it difficult to find really good rustic artisanal bread with the charred crust outside, and chewy inside. Perfect to have with Portuguese cured sheep cheeses. Highly recommend this place for any bread lover…

Sadly didn’t enjoy the chilli hot dog. The sausage didn’t have a lot of flavour and the texture of the beans was a bit strange. Very messy to eat.
I’m French and yet this is one of the best boulangeries I’ve been to. We discovered it by luck and returned a second time only a couple days later… it was that good! Highly recommend the breakfast pastries like the croissant and pain au chocolat, as well as their delicious baguette sandwiches, great for an easy lunch or for on the go — we even packed some for our flight out of Lisbon!

Absolutely amazing experience. Very beautiful sitting room and delicious pastries, both sweet and savoury. We had a very nice late lunch here, trying a vast variety of different Portuguese pastries in a very relaxed environment. There was no queue when we went, but there are separate entrance depending on whether you want to sit in or takeaway to help the load balancing. Would 100% recommend!

This is the place for truly amazing bread and rolls. They grind their own flours and bake up some seriously great eats. Glorious crusts, tender and flavorful insides. Our go-to place for bread, stopping every 2-3 days to restock. They have their regular breads daily, plus daily specials (so far we’ve tried the rosemary; walnut/orange; cheese; oregano. Bummed I missed the cinnamon raisin…will have to watch for it.) Seeded; plain or olive rolls all excellent. You can buy the big loaves by the half. Slicing available. The staff are super friendly! (Pic is a beautiful baguette for bfast)

The service was very nice and tidy!
The food was good but just feel a bit pricy for 12 euro a hot dog with shrimps, mayo and breadcrumbs!
The ice tea was homemade as they said which tasted light and fresh, I would recommend to those who order some greasy food!
They have a very good location and fancy design, hope to see some improvement for the food!!
The pastel de belem here is really really better than the pastel de nata anywhere else. Can’t describe how got it is, you have to try. The place is huge so don’t worry if there is a long queue, it will pass fast. The service is also fast, and the prices are the same or surprisingly lower than in other pastry shops.

We just popped in here to use the Wi-Fi and have a cup of tea and a snack. It is rather noisy with many people were chattering and the sound of the traffic. I barely tasted my snack, so cannot comment on it fairly.

A casual establishment, near to the metro and old town and charity shops. Staff leave you alone, which is good by my standards.

My boyfriend and I went there during our holiday. I chose Spaghetti with vegetables - on the picture they looked good, with zuchini and peppers and some sort of sauce/oil. The plate I received was something completely different. The topping was a black hair from the cook. The spaghettis were without any sauce or spices, just plain with no taste. And instead of fresh pepper or zuchini they just put a can of peas and corn on it. Just like a meal a 5year old would "cook". It was my worst experience in a restaurant so far and I regret that I didn't read the review BEFORE.
One of the best bakeries around. Home made pastries , sandwiches etc

This is, probably, the most popular bakery in town by now, especially, amongst bread lovers (was there such thing before Gleba?).
The variety is very good (visit the website!) and the quality of all products is outstanding.
Oh, and if you don't feel like going out to buy bread and prefer staying at home, no problem, just grab your smartphone and place your order in Glovo - ta-da!
Last, but not least, try the brioches with tomato. My God...

Surprisingly my meal and experience at this restaurant were excellent. I am the person who always checks google before I go to any restaurant. In this case I was just passing by and thinking about fried sardines. You can imagine my surprise when I came in and looked at google reviews. So , promoter was very friendly and honest. Sardines were perfect and exactly as I expected. I waited for the bill before writing review and it’s exactly as promised without any tip added. Promoter was very accommodating and gave me good price for the dish and suggested good economical wine. So overall , don’t pass by and take a chance. It is usual traditional restaurant with nothing exceptional I guess. Owner could improve it by removing extra lighting , instead of Tv , putting music inside and out , put some candles and here you go , much better. I guess those people who use google to see reviews won’t sfo to this place and they will never get the rating better even if something has changed.
Tasteless pastry...should improve. Friendly staff. Croissant brioche sold with raw dough. Looked like a chewing gum. Unbelievable! Inedible. Made a complaint and they give another one also with raw dough.

Everything we ordered was pretty average, with some highs: the shrimp soup was ok, seniorito paella was tasty and the mixed grill of fish was really good, made with a variety of fish and cooked well. The staff was attentive and stopped by often to make sure we were satisfied. We really didn’t like that we had to pay for the bread and the olives that were simply placed on our table, as appetizers, we’d had preferred we ordered them.
Fast service with a pleasant environment and variety of choice
