If you can't go to Paris for baguette and pastries then come here. Hands down the best baguette in the city and the most authentic French pastries around. Top notch!!

Today I got a small hot chocolate and raisin roll and asked is it french hot chocolate? He said yes, but it wasn’t, he sold some foam with milk and chocolate powder 😐 also raisin roll was made with vegetable oil because taste was really awful. I had gotten chocolate croissant in before but today their products were not as good as before.
London fog tea and chocolate mousse were good. Service was mediocre. I was served quickly, but staff wasn't the most friendly or welcoming. I felt like I was bothering the two staff chatting behind the counter when I brought my dishes in from outside. First time here, and so I wasn't sure where to leave them. Lots of dirty dishes pilong up there... Maybe an off day? But I will probably go to one of the other coffee / bakery places on Bayview next time.

I was pretty disappointed with my order today. The dessert I picked was dry and lacking in mango flavour. The pesto sandwich had two sad little tomato slices that both had the stem/core attached. Not sure I would return

I’ve been going to this country style for years every morning before work until I moved out of the area. It wasn’t till I left that I knew what I was missing.

The staff remember your name and start making your order before you could even think about what you want. They’re very friendly and personable. They get to know the customers and treat them well.

Their food is fresh and delicious. I usually get the breakfast bagel. Fresh cracked egg, turkey, bacon, cheese and the most delicious bagel, so soft and delicious.

Their donuts are soooo fresh. The owner said they bake for multiple stores so they’re always fresh and ready to go. Soft and huge, these donuts do not disappoint. If you want them ultra fresh, go a few days before your event and make a custom order for pickup in the morning. Oh man. Heaven. Nothing like the competition.

If you’re in the area - or even if you’re not, you should go here.

As a resident of midtown for years, I felt sorry that I have never been exploring this beautiful patisserie till yesterday I order a TooGoodToGo package from here. I received a wonderful mango mousse cake and two tuna salad sandwiches, the mousse cake is more beyond my expectations: it can beat those you have in $$$$ French restaurants. I like it!

Fantastic, freshly-made donuts in-store! Yes, they still do that some places (gives Tim a side-eye) and you'll notice they are not just fresh but HUGE, not all-hole and skinny as an onion-ring! (Tim gets the side-eye again).

Plus, the Chocolate Eclairs and 'Cream Delight' donuts actually have real whipped-cream inside, not instant pudding! And when they run out, they just make more, because the donuts are fresh, not frozen and shipped from some factory somewhere and just 'refreshed' in the store. (Slaps Tim).

Plus their coffee tastes like coffee, not bitter dishwater, and is always fresh-brewed. I really don't understand why ANYONE still hangs out with Tim, unless you're really into stale day-olds and atrocious "pizza" on a pita or whatever the heck that is he's selling over there.

Simple donut shop atmosphere with lots of seating and parking and SUPERIOR product.
ENJOY!!

We were waiting for a Fringe show and decided to grab a quick bite and drink. We’ve heard about Rooster Coffee House, but never stepped foot in one so we decided to try it out. We got the Sourdough Chocolate Chip because it sounded weird and we’re all about weirdness. We couldn’t taste the sourdough, but the taste was on point. We also got an Almond Raspberry Danish which had a strong raspberry flavor, which we enjoyed. The coffee here is strong so if you’re looking for a pick me up you can’t go wrong with Rooster!

Glad that this coffee place is next door to my office. Cause you know, office coffee is never good. I always love their flat white and latte. But today I tried a drink from the seasonal menu called “beetroot latte” it’s like cinnamon and beetroot in milk. I never saw something like that in any coffee shop menu so was just curious to try.

But if you are stopping by for coffee then it’s hands down very good.

The coffee shop also have cute rustic aesthetics and the service is very good. Also everything is very reasonable priced.
Elaborated Review;

This is hands down one of the coolest cafes I’ve been to on King St E & here is everything I love about Rooster Coffee.

🫶🏽 The minimalistic interiors are welcoming, if you are looking to just hang out with a friend/study/work/doomscroll.
🫶🏽 The coffee is hard to describe, let me just say it’s so yum! You gotta try it yourself. They get their own signature blends made but that’s not even the best part. You have a few options of blends you can try from. Something for everyone :)
🫶🏽The crew is super helpful & patient when it comes to suggesting.
🫶🏽You won’t go hungry in this cafe, quite literally! You have your fresh baked goods but also salads or chia pudding & guess what? If you don’t feel like coffee/tea they even sell wine & beers! Now we are talking. Lol.
🫶🏽The toilets! I can’t emphasis how clean and chic the toilets are at Rooster Coffee. 10/10!
🫶🏽 Last but not the least, I would like to thank me for visiting this gem & sharing about this place so passionately.

🤝🏽If you like what you see, make sure you follow along as I am on a mission to visit 49 more cafes in Toronto by December 2024🧞‍♂️

Thank you for taking the time to reading this, until next time.

Be sure to discover this place before it closes. June 29, 2024 is their last day. A big loss for the coffee world. At least their story is good as they are embarking on an even bigger adventure. So happy for them as much as I'm sad they are closing. A very special place with brilliant coffee!

Mobile order waited for 40mins. One mobile order with 2 drink. Received first one and waited for 40mins. Tried to ask the barista and she kept saying they were behind the order. After 40mins, asked again and she said I made the order and gave to someone with same name. She said she need to review the receipt before making the order again. After 45mins received the order.
I can't enough good things about this place. Everybody is friendly and polite. All the staff quickly learns and remembers usual orders. Smiles are always free here. Best donuts in town!
The cafe itself is very cute, love the game boards that are available, however we did not have such a great experience with the food and service.

The mocktail was really good, however we waited over an hour for our food, we asked a few times in between and they told us it’s coming. When we asked again at the 1.5 hour mark, they checked in the system only to realise that they hadn’t even placed our order.

Once the food did arrive, they got our order wrong. I asked for the croissant sandwich and they brought a burger. We were too hungry at that point to switch it. But the burger was very soggy and salty. Definitely did not enjoy it.

The pasta wasn’t too bad.

One of my fave places in Toronto, I come here to play Warhammer. They’ve crafted such a comfy and cheerful space to exist in that paying for beer and a table is absolutely worth it over gaming at home. Whether you’re trying to stand around a wargaming table for 5 hours or chill on the couch with some monopoly, this place has it all. Good food also.

Not worth the money. The butter croissant and almond croissant were dry, not flakey, and lacked flavour. Raisin pastry and Raspberry croissant was a tad better, but not by much.

Take your business to Jules Cafe on Mount Pleasant.. they know what they are doing.

I should have read the reviews before making a trip down. Rahier is not what it use to be.

Incredibly delicious and authentic Ethiopian food with friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere with mood lighting for the late night and live music too! 100/10 would recommend. We got the vegan platter for one and meat platter for one (plenty for 2 people). Our hearts and stomachs feel nourished.

I ordered a blonde roast coffee with 1 cream, 1 mocha on Thursday May 30, 2024 between 2-3pm. A polite, coloured girl served my coffee. I’m a frequent Starbucks customer who loves my blonde roast. I noticed a slight taste that was unusual and uncharacteristic of Starbucks coffee. After 5 minutes of finishing my cup on an empty stomach, I felt overwhelmingly nauseous, I threw up and passed out in my car. My entire day was ruined due to severe illness. I’m extremely upset and concerned about the quality of food and beverage being served at this particular location which compelled me to leave this review. I sincerely hope the manager cares about their food safety standards to investigate this incident and remedy it.
This game cafe had some nice drinks and the fried chicken was tasty snack! The atmosphere of this place is so trendy and yet comfortable, decent game selection too.

Florentine omelette with a large latte. Seriously well made and tasty. The latte was superb.

Industrial/cafeteria style complete with glitter ball hanging from the ceiling.
Television in one corner and fully accessible by the side door if you have a scooter, wheelchair or baby carriage.

Place your order at the counter, pay and have a seat. Your meal will be brought to you.
Note: Tipping is cash only and not available by debit/credit.

Very much a go to eatery for an affordable meal.

Love this place, a tremendous amount of games and space to play. Welcoming staff and great food and drink options. Always a stop when we're in the neighborhood.
Was amazed by the food and atmosphere here! Never had Ethiopian food before but now I'll be visiting here regularly. Glad I decided to try out this place, definitely recommend everyone to visit.

Staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is lovely and the music is very relaxing.
Great food and amazing live music on the weekend. Cosy design with Excellent customer service!
Beautiful decor, lovely music. Amazing flavours and always the fresh smell of coffee. Blue Nile is the perfect place for a dinner and beer with friends. Ethiopean food is underrated. If you haven't already tried it, this is the place to start.
Fast and friendly customer service, decent variety of cold and hot beverages, and above-average quality baked goods; however, I would skip the sandwiches.
The service at the restaurant was lovely. The waiters were quick to respond and help us with all our needs. I also adore the wide assortment of board games that you can play while waiting for your food to be here.

Used to be my favorite patisserie cafe. Used to love everything simple items and they had the best lemon bison. But the last few times experiences have disappointed me as I couldn’t taste the lemon flavor and the crust was too thick and not buttery enough!

I wish Rahier could have it’s standard back so I can enjoy my favorite lemon bison in town again!
I came here for brunch. It was quite busy for a weekday. The food was decently priced, washroom was dirty. I feel there should have been more than one person managing entire restaurant by himself.

Good food at reasonable price, quality as well as quantity. Good atmosphere for couples, family and groups. Service is quick.
Went in today for an iced latte. The barista was patience while my partner and I drooled over all the food offerings.

Vanilla latte was so so tasty!
I suggested this place to meet up a friend. It was the first time for both of us to visit cafe. If you choose to dine-in only and not play any board games then they won't charge you for the games. It's helpful that each table has a button underneath it to call for service. The staff was so polite and helpful!

I ordered the Taiwanese fried chicken (yes, it's boneless), and Osmanthus Latte. Both tasted amazing!

Taiwanese fried chicken (crowd fav): Great if you are just looking for a snack but also a good choice to share with the rest of the group. Loved the sauce paired with it.

Osmanthus Latte (brand new on the menu): It was the first time I tried a latte made with Osmanthus. I found it a good balance of sweet and a touch of bitter. Overall I loved the taste!

Love this place. Donuts are some of the best you’ll find and they won’t cost you an arm and leg like those “fancy” donut shops. Coffee is always fresh, and the staff couldn’t be more polite and friendly. Head and shoulders above Tim Hortons
Rooster Coffee House in Toronto truly stands out as the best coffee spot in the city. With its cool and cozy vibe, accompanied by the friendliest staff, it's an experience you won't forget. Make sure to indulge in their unique Ginger cookies and the mouthwatering lemon poppy seed muffin. Trust me, it's so delicious you might find yourself eating it right down to the muffin liners. Rooster Coffee House is a must-visit for anyone craving a warm atmosphere, exceptional treats, and genuine smiles.
Just working on a roof on Symington and needed a coffee at 3:30 pm. Medium drip, black. Did the job. Gave me that jolt I needed.
Awesome boardgame cafe.

Food was so good. We had the braised beef rice and noodles. And two lattes. It’s a bit pricey but you’re paying the premium for the vibes.

They have a lot of boardgames to choose from: the classics like scrabble, monopoly, cards against humanity, risk, catan, etc. They also have newer games. We played Wingspan for 2 hours.

Just Went there to order something and the cashier an elderly( probably Kenner) was busy with his own people chit chatting and didn’t bothered to serve me.for almost 3-4 mins, he kept talking to them, standing at cash register .i was so disappointed with such behaviour. Later a filipino lady walks in and cuts me in the line to order. I was like , lady have some common sense. The cashier immediately starts serving her, despite of the fact that I was there before her. I was so mad, that I left the store without even ordering anything. Never ever gonna go back there. People need to learn basic etiquettes
I had the pleasure of visiting Twilight Cafe last year, and it exceeded all my expectations. The food, particularly the croissant sandwich, was absolutely delicious, leaving me craving more. The ambience of the cafe was inviting and comfortable, creating the perfect atmosphere for relaxation and enjoyment. I especially appreciated the inclusion of games, which provided a fun way to spend time with loved ones and friends. Additionally, the selection of drinks was impressive, offering a variety of options to suit every taste. Overall, I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience at Twilight Cafe, and I eagerly look forward to returning again and again.

Spacious venue with easy access from TTC and nearby Green P car park. I prefer this to Snakes and Lattes because the atmosphere is a bit more chilled out and the venue is nicer. They have a good collection of board games and TTRPGs for sale too.
Had amazing first experience at the cafe was out for a walk decided to make a stop to check out this amazing cafe by my place and I was very surprised and amazed by the service and the space and the coffee of course . Kevin made me a coffee with Antoine and passion . For anything looking for a place to chill around Dundas square with their friend and enjoy fresh refreshing drinks food and other iteams plz check out this place they have a lot of board , card games and amazing sitting arrangements everything working there seemed super chill
And enjoying the work place which is always a nice thing . Place has a very cool and super chill vibe . Although this time I was only there for coffee I can see myself going back with my friends to enjoy more varieties for refreshments and food they seem to have amazing menu and the price is extremely fair for a cafe in downtown Toronto . All in all amazing place keep up the good work everything . Huge thumbs up for the whole team and see u guys soon .

Refused to give me a sipping lid. Forced me to take a straw with my cold brew. Excuse given was they only give sipping lids for nitro cold brews. Never heard anything so absurd every other Starbucks defaults to sipping lids.

Gonna sip through the straw now what a crazy absurd policy
The food was ok – not the best in the town, but edible. The man behind the counter was pretty attentive and ready to help with making a choice.
However, the atmosphere was impacted by the area itself – it didn't look like a cafe – too spacious, too empty, too strange. Was it a bankrupt night club before?

I’ve been to many Starbucks but this one is favourite by far. I always get the iced matcha latte and they do it perfectly every single time. The staff are all extremely welcoming; whether it’s first thing in the morning or late just before close, they’re all always smiling and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Love it!

Early birds at Yorkdale Mall, rejoice! 🌞 Starbucks opens at the crack of dawn, serving as a beacon of hope for those of us with ungodly morning shifts. Stumbled in, half-asleep, and a hero behind the counter upgraded my order from a 'small' (or whatever fancy Starbucks lingo it is) to a large - no extra charge! 🎉 However, not all that glitters is gold. A little decorum, please? Some staff were a tad too chummy, tossing slangs with customers as if we were at a backyard BBQ, not a professional setting. Made the queue feel longer than a Monday. 🙄 But hey, taste and service are top-notch! Just wish everyone could enjoy their coffee without a side of slang. ☕✨

I love this bakery. My partner and I made it our annual tradition to order their galette des rois (king's cake) and have been a regular customer here since 2022.

They have a wide variety of French savory and sweet pastries and cakes. Honestly, you can't go wrong with what you order here, but I'd strongly recommend trying their galette des rois and strawberry shortcake. We get these every year and they have never failed to wow us. The galette des rois we've ordered from here were always flaky, and the frangipane consistently had the right texture and a good level of sweetness. The strawberry shortcake from here is very delicate with a very light cream and custard and soft but distinguishable sponge. The strawberries they use for the cake are always top quality too, they taste sweeter and fresher than the ones you can get from grocery stores.

While this bakery requires a bit of a trip for me to get to, I love coming back here every year. The staff are always friendly and helpful too. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. I'd highly recommend giving this place a try!
8$ per each person! We only payed some common games. You should come here with more than 3 friends. Cuz there's not many good games for duel but for the multiplayers, there are lots of games you can all try 😚
I would have given this place 4 stars but due to a couple reasons, I dropped it to a 3. The place was very busy when my wife and I went on a Friday night; one of the staff took our orders but what looks like some notes app on his phone. They were nice and seemed a bit busy I suppose.

The atmosphere was nice with quite a lot of seating available; the place also offered board games (two separate shelves near the back) for $6/2 hours so that would be part of the reason for it being so busy.

We ordered the Taiwanese braised pork rice and classic omelet; the rice came quite quickly but after waiting over thirty minutes after (even after finishing our rice), our omelet did not come. We thought they forgot about it and proceeded to the front to pay. They told us the omelet just finished, so we took it home. The rice was pretty good and the omelet was alright but definitely shouldn't not have taken over half an hour to make, else they should have told us beforehand.

Overall, I would recommend coming here with friends once in a while as a get together, but would avoid getting the omelet but the rice was not too bad. Their logo looked pretty good too in my opinion. I just wished the service was a bit more organized or had better communication.

As an American who lives in a foreign country nothing’s better than going to places where you can celebrate your authentic heritage and culture. This specific Starbucks is where I can fully reminisce my good old memories. Even only by taking me back home for few minutes. They have the most amazing people in their team. They work together as a unit just like a family with such positive and welcoming attitude and of course under a wonderful supervisory system. I was greeted in with a shot of hot chocolate and beautiful smiles. Both were so yummy. lol 😉. Not to mention right after by seeing youth of the nation part of that incredible organization melted my heart. This is exactly what American culture stands for. I'm beyond grateful to witness these young members of society working happily with such upbeat energy.
Bless their hearts… I’d absolutely recommend this Starbucks.
One of the last country styles that bake on site fresh donuts . The donuts are bigger and better made than Tim Hortons. If you are in this area get your donuts here . I recommend the apple fritter , chocolate eclair, Hawaiian donut, country bits .

What a great little secret place to eat. Very low key but this place is perfect for brunch or lunch. I've been here several times for take out and dine in. What i love about this place: huge variety of western diner style food, fast service, not crowded with free wifi and TV, they don't skimp out on take out orders, delicious and well priced. This is one of my favourite places to go and would continue to support this business.

If you are looking for a cafe that offers board game activities and you like your experience to be leisurely and relaxing, the Guild House is the place for you.

Unlike typical board game cafes where the atmosphere is hectic and the visit compressed, the Guild House comes across as a good cafe first. It serves excellent pastries and sandwiches in addition to beverages. It is a sizable location but not jam packed with tables. There is a lot of elbow room and a more relaxed ambience in general.

They have a healthy selection of games for patrons to borrow while on premise, and there is NO time limit to the visit. For one sitting fee you can stay till closing time.

It is a great place to hang out, eat, drink and play games without rushing.

Beautiful cozy little cafe, hot tasty coffee, and food is fantastic. The philly cheese steak was so delicious, really memorable and the best cheese steak ever. Friendly staff and comfortable spacious seats. Not crowded on a Sunday morning. Highly recommend it.
Nice little espresso bar, a coffee place with good choice of coffee. Exact temperature inside. Street benches outside. Bus stop, cycle parking spots and antique wooden benches. Pet friendly. Good for conversation, small group of 6-8 gathering.

The staff is very welcoming and friendly.

A local Toronto resident recommended this hidden gem to us, and it truly is a great place to hang out with friends and grab a quick bite. If you love board games and would like to take a break from the business of the everyday I recommend the Guild house. Grab some friends and play boardgames for a few hours. I discovered so many new games I need to add to my collection.

Croissant tree is a wonderful small local owned cafe, with great food and even better atmosphere. I cannot say enough about how kind the staff were to me, made me feel very welcome. I had the very tasty smoked turkey avocado melt sandwich for breakfast with a side of home fries. Will probably get regular fries or a salad next time because I guess the home fries were a bit too potato-ey for me haha. Love this place will definitely come back whenever I’m in the area.

There is a sitting area right in front of the store with a few tables and stools. Nice selection of merchandise.

Took one star off for their hours... would have liked them to open later
I found this place thanks to Too Good To Go and I'm so glad I did!

The store is amazing and seems like it's one of the most popular stores in the area. I picked up 5 croissants (Too Good To Go) and a box of marzipan sweets (just very tempted to try)! Will be back for more. :)
Family decided to try something new, saw the reviews and came in. Made reservations although they indicated wasn't necessary. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, giving us advice and information about the different menu items. Food was amazing, great experience and the coffee...WOW!! Loved it. Definitely a must if you're a coffee drinker. We'll go back to try other things, really enjoyed it.

I was craving coffee today and after my ultrasound decided to stop by and get something decaf. The ladies offered me decaf hazelnut syrup cappuccino, and I also got a chocolate croissant.....later, I got sausage and egg muffin 😁
The service was really good, and I am sure, the ladies working there, should be able to receive tips from the customers! Unfortunately, they don't have such option. I don't think it's fair.
I will be back definitely to try another drink.
Not a big shop but has such fabulous pastries. There is a small patio at front for you to sit and enjoy. The small individual cakes are more costly but good for special occasions. They display so well on the table.

The lady coming in at 6:30 am very rude, needs to learn some manners
Praise them for being open on New Years morning 2022! I have been here a number of times but never wrote a review--my bad. I love this little shop! Always a surprise! Sometimes they sell Le Creuset, other times yummy ice cream... but one thing for sure, great coffee, fresh croissant and No 7 Hot Sauce! Also much praise to the barista this morning, cheerful and just super nice!

In the fridge, always empanadas, kombucha, akwa, and maybe something new

I remember one time I had their croissant sandwich and wanted to add spinach/some sorta green but no tomato and they did it! I was surprise because they were already pre made but they made me a fresh one--thank you!

I had Rahier on my list to visit for some time and had the opportunity recently.

I have mixed feelings on the visit. The items were good. The madeleine and cappuccino that I had were tasty but not the premium quality I expected given the reviews on G Maps.

The pastry items (as agreed on by my friend) were good. However, the drinks are massively overrated. I would recommend passing on the cappuccino as it tastes flat and less quality than say a Sbucks cappuccino, which are standard comparison points. For a coconut filled pastry and my small cappuccino (small cup half full) I paid 7.56, for comparison. It's competitive for the area but the taste is only okay.

I would recommend a visit if in the area but it is not a top selection for either french pastries or coffee drinks.

The Guild House is simply incredible. Not only can you order drinks and food from their cafe, but what they serve is very affordable and very delicious! Not to mention the staff is extremely kind and will help anyone who's looking for the right kind of game. The decor is rustic, inviting and makes you feel at home.

Being able to play board games at their tables and enjoy a nice snack or meal is great. They have a wonderful variety of games to play and hundreds of games to purchase on the store floor.

If you're into tabletop games like Warhammer, TGH has you covered from models, paint and brushes. If you want to play Warhammer AOS/40K, there's plenty of nice and I mean NICE tables designed with beautiful terrain on their lower level floor. The low cost of $5 to play at a table ALL DAY is just an incredible deal and everyone I've met while playing is so friendly. Did I mention you can order from the cafe and play? I love enjoying a nice latte while destroying my opponent with bolter fire.

To be honest, I can praise TGH forever, it's just that great and I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to play games and enjoy some good food and beverages. See for yourself and you wont be disappointed. It's a great place for date nights and I can't wait to return. I love The Guild House!!

I come here with my Ethiopian friend when she comes to visit. This place is so cozy. Ethiopian cuisine with a bar like atmosphere in the front. The service is amazing and the food... omg so phenomenal. I've been to Ethiopian restaurants in many other cities but this is by far the best food and the best vibe. I find other places intimidating because there usually isn't any physical menu and you have to order in Amharic (Ethiopian dialect) but Blue Nile menus is so easy to navigate with explanations in english.

Excellent place to hang out and play games, study or read. All of the staff are super friendly and the food and beverages are high quality. I play warhammer 40K and they have ample room.
I just love local places and this is definitely one of them.
They make (and sell) good coffee (I ordered a cortado and it was great) and the owners are super nice.
They also sell some great natural wraps and sandwiches. I had this sweet potato with pesto sauce sandwich in a ciabatta style bread. Totally vegetarian, very fresh.
It’s going to be my go to coffee in the neighborhood.

I have nothing but good to say about this location. Very friendly people. I always find myself a bit out of my element ordering coffee and often more so at Starbucks chain stores. Fortunately the staff here make the experience so comfortable. Unlike Tim Hortons in my Hometown of Sylvan Lake Alberta, the staff here actually do their job and they excel at it. I guess Im comparing Gold to Dirt...
This is a nice comfortable spot for a coffee and a chat. The baked goods are delicious and the atmosphere is clean and warm.

The design of the interior is very arty and inspired.

There is no wheelchair access.
