Just got back from Oahu and this gave me the same vibes. Excellent food, friendly atmosphere, and beach vibes. I had a delicious chicken sandwich, a refreshing cider, and a super pilsner. Thank you Philip for a unique experience!

My first time here and it was delightful. After a brisk walk around Seward Park, I stopped in for lunch. I had the special sandwich which was roast beef with caramelized onions, pepperoncini peppers, and cheese on honey whole wheat bread. The flavor profile was so well balanced. It came with a pasta salad that was delightful on its own. Add in fantastic service and it was a 5 star experience all around.

The drip coffee was amazing! Service could be a bit more attentive, but the coffee made up for their so so service.

My best friend and I have been coming here for years and always loved the selection. I highly recommend their stronger flavors (my all-time favorite is the salmon!)
We recently had an issue with our order on Mother’s Day and the staff were so gracious with the way they handled things.

If you're looking for a place to enjoy a delicious and healthy breakfast without feeling weighed down, this spot is definitely worth checking out. It has a cozy, family-owned vibe and you can tell that the breakfast is prepared and served with care and attention to detail.

After waiting in line for nearly an hour, we tried 3 different flavors of the brioche doughnuts and an alpine brew latte. The flavors change seasonally, but on this visit, they had London fog, yuzu custard, and raspberry cream available.
The London fog was the star of the show— we loved it. The yuzu was good and the raspberry cream was our least favorite. It was just alright. The Alpine brew latte was very well-made and I loved the earthy taste.
We lined up just after 11 AM on a Sunday and only one doughnut flavor was sold out when we got to the register. The shop was on its last 40 doughnuts when we were served and they went quickly.
Due to the long wait times, The Flour Box is not somewhere I would go regularly, but it’s worth another visit later in the year to try a different set of flavors. The shop is nicely decorated and staff is friendly. I’m not quite sure it’s worth the hype overall, but the doughnuts were good and it was nice to try something different.

The bartender/server was very sweet and respectful, keeping his calm despite the chaotic atmosphere made by some of the guests.
I originally was hoping to go to Luna's next door, but they already closed the kitchen. This place looked like a bar, but there were several signs that read "all ages welcome", so despite my gut feeling I took my hungry daughter inside to order burgers.
Although the service was great, the atmosphere was chaotic and dark. It is a bar. I would not say that all ages are welcome if there are people cussing and threatening others due to their drunken stupor.
I felt like we should not have been in there and by the end some person was screaming in the back of the restaurant for the bathroom because it was being used and I guess they were upset about waiting. I felt unsafe, especially with my daughter. Creepy men kept looking back at me and my daughter, maybe they were just curious and concerned about our presence.
Anyway, I just came on here to say don't bring your kids here. All ages should not be welcomed because it's basically a dive bar.
Appreciate the awesome food and staff and their efforts to create a welcoming atmosphere for me and my daughter. It wasn't overseen, but I definitely won't be coming back.

Amazing food, got the avocado toast and a bloody Mary. The vibe is very chill, they have a lounge and music but we went for breakfast. The service was great. It's cozy, but I love that. Lots of outdoor seating though. Parking is a bit tricky, but nectar of the times we were able to parallel across the street.

The service is really good. You need to try this restaurant if you want a brunch day, or just a fast stop for really good food. Everything is amazing!

Went here as our first choice of a sit down breakfast had a huge lineup. Hoped it would be good based on reviews but unfortunately this place did not live up to expectations. I ordered the French toast, and got two large pieces of bread that looked like they were toasted with butter and had a dusting of powdered sugar on top, with no egg or cream in sight (which is what french toast is??). It was so dry, bland, and it took 25+ minutes to come. They may have been low on staff that day but I'm not sure. They were incredibly busy, and the same people were waiting to be seated the entire time we ate breakfast which was quite some time due to the wait for the food.
My husband said their bacon was great, and he enjoyed the biscuit that came with his 2 egg breakfast.
The waitress was great at keeping our water and coffees filled, they did their best to keep people happy while food was being made.

I know you’ve seen the people lined up when you drive-by, and you wonder, is that line worth it? It is.
We get there around 9:30, you wait in line until 10, and then place your order. The rotating menu is amazing, there is not one bad thing there. I like to ask for a surprise when I order my drink, and I’ve never been disappointed.

Stopped in on my way to Pike's Place. Walked in to good music playing, and the batistas were really nice. Recommend to grab a coffee here before exploring the rest of the area!

great tasting donuts but not “2 hour wait” great.
got one flavor of each (mango lassi, thai milk tea, matcha cream, and kimchi everything). the donuts had a soft chew to them and the filling was nice and airy. my favorite being the savory kimchi everything donut. the sweet donuts were tasty too, the right amount of sweetness for my taste buds.
i joined the line at 9am on an overcast sunday morning and checked out with my donuts at 10:46am. halfway through the wait, the sun came out and that made the wait a bit more bearable.
but that got me thinking, what if today was another rainy seattle day? would i want to wait in line? probably not.
comparing the flour box to moto pizza which is another restaurant that (imo) has the same hype/scarcity in terms of getting their food. i much prefer moto pizza’s online ordering model where you can order months in advance for their set number of “pizza slots”. i feel the flour box could have something similar where people could order and pay online; then come pick up the donuts without lining up. that will still help limit their doughnut orders to 1,000 a day but not subject customers to lining up especially given that it rains on most days in seattle, i find it ridiculous to expect customers to line up in the rain.
as of writing they have the option to pre-buy coffee/drinks online so they do have some tech that allows online ordering so i’m hopeful that they allow online orders of their doughnuts in the future.
great donuts, but the buying experience is just disappointing.

Incredibly friendly staff, and went out of there way to give us the best experience possible. They showed my 11 year old son how to create latte art in the nicest way possible, now he wants to start doing it himself for my coffee. Don’t mess around with Starbucks, come here. Now, we will make sure to come here every time we come to Seattle. In fact, it was so memorable, my 11yo asked to leave them a review, thus wrote this one. Thank you.

Recommend coming on a Thursday and the line won’t be that long. I ended up coming late at about 11 and just one of the types got sold out right before me. I’d recommend coming a bit earlier but no need to come at 8 and wait for two hours like on other days. Very friendly staff and great drink options too

Amazing find, tucked up on the upper floor in Pike Place Market. Loved the ambience, the staff was super-friendly and they have some really really good coffee and the pastry selection looked super tempting too. Also got one of their coffee mugs for free, as a first time visitor - which was really cool!!

Amazing coffee, amazing atmosphere. Highly recommend the house espresso! The americano was perfection.

This shop used to be great. It’s been a while since I stopped by, so I dropped in on my way to work early this morning. The coffee wasn't the best, but the primary reason I'm writing this review is because of the service. I’m not sure what happened, but I will not be returning after the experience I had. I stood up front for over five minutes before someone came out to take my order. When she finally emerged, the short heavy-set woman who took my order was condescending and rude when I asked about their options. She had an inpatient and unfriendly demeanor. Maybe she was having an off day, but it put a sour start to my day. I don't normally take the time to write a review, but I was still bothered when I got home, so I decided to do it. There are plenty of options downtown, folks. Save yourself the time.

Had an hour to kill. Came to this shop. Prices are great! Customer service was top notch. Coffee has amazing flavor. Would come again & would recommend to anyone in the area!

I loved the cortado, food had not yet arrived so had to do with banana cake. But cortado I could have gulped down few more. Very quaint , unhurried place. Folks know what they are doing with their coffee.

I came here with my boyfriend expecting it to be good. It exceeded expectations though. We wanted a cold brew, but they did not have it. We got an iced coffee instead. Normally I don’t like iced coffee because it tends to tastes burnt. This was delicious and smooth like a cold brew though. The staff were chill too. I highly recommend it.

The spinach egg scramble with home fries is extremely good. Coffee is delicious. The inside is an old building w/ little charm but the food is so good it doesn’t matter. A little long for the meal to arrive but again worth it, would go back for sure.

Located in Columbia City in Seattle, this is the place for crafted donuts.
There is very limited parking and 2-hour street parking around the neighborhood. And you may need to use all 2-hours. The average wait is about an hour, and they will run out of donuts!
The donuts are basically beignets with filling. The ingredients are all-natural. Not too sweet, very light and fluffy and just one is never enough.
I also recommend the coffee, as it is ALWAYS a good indicator of how good the food will be. A blend of Ethiopian and Brazilian, it pairs perfectly with anything your heart chooses.
Midas 5-stars for the food and service.

Great coffee at a relatively high price, but comes with a free gift of a mug for any new customers, which I think it is a super sweet & smart idea! It was packed on a Sunday morning when I visited so I ordered a takeaway instead of dine in. Staffs were very nice and attentive despite the line was always long!

Storyville is a HUGE surprise for what a coffee / pastry shop could be in Pike Place market. The issue with Pike Place recently is that the neighborhood has gotten shady and dirty, let alone smelly fish and dirty bathrooms come to mind. It doesn't bridge a street market experience with upscale comfort and style.
Well, Storyville at the corner building, right at the entrance to the market, solves exactly that. It is at a prime location, swanky and clean interior, and located on the top floor that overlooks the main Pike Place market.
As you climb up the stairs, you enter this corridor where you see this beautiful modern wooden interior - a complete surprise from what one is used to on the shops at Pike Place. There are leather couches and wooden tables all around, and just lounging while staring at the morning market getting ready for the day was simply magical.
But now, let's start with the coffee and drinks. The latte. You must try the latte. It is simply one of the best lattes you'll ever taste. Also depends on the barista that makes it but at least mine was friendly and simply amazing. The cinammon roll with gooey frosting flowing... my god. There is a caramel and chewy textured glaze that is present which makes this pastry feel like a kouign amann. The croissants... they look straight out of a magazine page. They're not as world class as Cafe Besalu's but still up there.
Storyville at Pike Place has definitely transformed my Pike Place experience. It truly elevates the visit. I highly recommend grabbing breakfast at Storyville at 8am to start your day at the market.

Excellent drip coffee. I also tried the house made honey syrup and the honey cinnamon whip! They were perfect and I would recommend them in a latte or even an Americano.
The bakery items were pretty standard, run of the mill options. Great for a grab and go or just to snack while chilling in the shop. They had a few shop items, including a chemex set.
And overall the staff were quiet, polite and fast! Zero wait for my coffee, which was shocking on a Sunday less than 2 blocks from Pike Market!

Absolutely amazing experience!! The staff were so friendly. The cinnamon roll heated up was without a doubt the best pastry I have ever had. The ambience was so lovely, wish I lived here because I would come every day!

This is a review of their online operations.
I started ordering from them after visiting the physical locations a few years ago. Elm Coffee Roasters offer quite nice beans for online customers. But 10oz (instead of 16oz or 12oz) starting at $19 for blend is very pricey. Single origin options are currently being sold around $22-25 for 10oz bags.
Their shipping for one bag is about $4. While the beans are decent and the packaging is edgy, the value simply isn't there compared to other roasters who roast single origin beans for $20 per 14-16oz and offer free-shipping.

What a fantastic coffee shop! Located upstairs above the crumpet shop. I love coming here and enjoying an amazing house made cinnamon roll and a cortado or latte. This really is one of the better coffee shops in Seattle. The consistency of the coffee is one large part of that reason, but another reason Storyville Coffee is worth stopping at is their remarkable customer service. everyone was helpful kind and courteous. The coffee shop is clean and cozy. There’s even a great fireplace to sit next to or you can look out the window towards Puget Sound.

I finally got to taste the donuts at The Flour Box and after all the excitement I’m happy to say they did not disappoint.
If you prefer the sweeter side of pastries, this may not be the spot for you. The donuts here are more balanced and the quality/flavor of the ingredients really shine through.
For your first few visits, I recommend trying one of each flavor. After that you’ll know which flavors you gravitate towards. (I’ve realized that I like the tropical/asian flavors most).
My favorites so far: Coconut Pandan, Jasmine Milk Tea, Passion Fruit, Lemon.
Tip: get there early if you want more choice. In my experience that’s weekdays between 9.30-10 and weekends 9-9.30.
Will continue to update this as I try more flavors ♥️

My go to spot for espresso & take home beans. When I was dining, in a man who was experiencing homelessness came in with not enough money for a coffee and the barista still gave them a cup of coffee and treated them like any other customer. The man joined me at my table for a while, it was a very cold day and the barista gave him multiple warm ups on his coffee too. Pioneer square is often stigmatized and it’s great to see a business treat their neighbors with dignity and respect. I’ve been coming here since 2018 and am a proud customer!

Fresh donuts worth the ~1 hour wait. Tip: Bring a book, and the line won’t feel too long!
There were 4 donut flavor options. I grabbed one of each and thought they were all great. Flavors change seasonally. Hot chocolate was also high-quality. There is a cute seating area to hang out in after grabbing your sweet treat.

I've honestly never been to the shop, I always order their coffee online. But for all the amazing roasters out here in WA I've tried over the last 10+ years, I think Elm roasts the best damn coffee around! They always deliver interesting and complex varietals you cannot get elsewhere.
I've had to rebalance my entire financials to be able to drink Elm coffee every day, though.

An absolute gem! Such cute decor and amazingly happy and polite staff. The free gifts are a great touch too!
Delicious chocolate cake, good coffee, and amazing cinnamon rolls. The texture of the cake and cinnamon rolls are on point!
The croissant is flaky and crispy. The chocolate cake is so moist and great flavor not being too sweet, but showing off the dark chocolate.
I got a free mug as well.

This is one of my favorite places to have breakfast when I come home to Seattle from Houston! If they had flavored creams for my coffee, I would love them even more! 😉❤️ Shout out to today's chef who had everything on my plate hot and fresh! #BothWaysCafe

Grabbed coffee and worked for a bit here, good coffee but their seating so limited. 3 tables at the max and couple of chairs.
PSL Latte and muffin were good.

I had walked by this sign a million times, but today, I needed to kill some time until a shop opened in Pike Place. So I followed the signs, up the flights of steps, to a wonderful surprise. They say that you can visit Pike Place once a month for a year and never see everything. I never knew this place was here. At the end of the hallway was this charming, personable coffeehouse that reminded me of how important it is to support independent places like this. The space was filled with leather seats and couches. A fireplace helped add a homey feel to it. The service was a bit slow to make, but that is because they bring your orders to you. They pick up your dishes and serve water, which is a nice touch. The view is part the main street of the market and a little bit of Elliott Bay. It's too bad they don't serve booze. All in all, if you're in the market, this is a VERY nice alternative to Starbucks.

All of the coffees they serve are roasted in the back room. They roast Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and there are large viewing windows to see the action. Cupping and brewing classes are held in the back area.
I tried two different coffees. First was spiced coffee, it was amazing!!! I was afraid that it might be to sweet, but it is actually not. The sweetness is perfect.
And I tried one and one. If you want to taste their coffee bean original teste and also want a macchiato, it is a good option.

Very tasty hot chocolate with AMAZING oat milk foam. It’s simple but done so well.
Simple setting inside. About 4 plugs on the wall for phone/ laptop charging. Friendly cashier and barista service.

Nice neighborhood breakfast joint packed to the hilt with hungry locals. Good food. Good energy. Next time I’m going to try the bloody mary.

My family and I dropped by after visiting Pike Place Market and it was surprisingly quiet/peaceful despite proximity to major tourist attractions. I ordered the slow drip with oat milk-- it was really smooth with no hint of bitterness, and I didn't have to add any sugar. My mom (who ordered the capuccino) liked my drink so much we went home with a bag!! If I lived in Seattle I'd definitely be a regular here.

Friendly service (not very seattle) and delicious food. The white toast was yummy, as was the bacon.
The wait for our food was long. Eh, that’s fine. We had a lot to catch up on.
Great prices.

Cozy little coffee shop/roaster with a friendly vibe and great aesthetic. Flat white and an oat milk latte for the parents, milk steamers — one chocolate & one vanilla bean — for the kids. Plus one AMAZING chocolate chip oat cookie we all fought over! ⚡️

I told the barista what I would like, and she stared at me dumbfounded for a few seconds (a simple drink off the menu, nothing custom). She then proceeded to take a personal phone call in front of me throughout the rest of the interaction.

Been their once and she tried telling me she was closed. She had just walked in from a break. Almost an hour before closing. I told her she had better make my drink. And she huffed and did it. I got the feeling she was very lazy and didnt want to work onviously. The workers inside safeway are pretty rude themselves.

Drove for breakfast, stayed for the community shopping. What a quaint little area, with the best breakfast spot. We waited about 20 minutes for inside seating, and they were very honest about order time (with to go orders and a small kitchen) but it was worth the wait. The prices were great, the coffee was hot and good, the atmosphere was fun *very Seattle* art on the walls open kitchen, super fun staff (the waitress with the fun nails awesomely helpful)
We had the biscuits and gravy, ham and swiss omelet, and fancy potatoes. All Delicious!

Such a great crew here who are warm and friendly. Absolutely delicious food. Had a cool convo with the owner while waiting for my takeout. If I lived closer, this would be a regular place for me!
The lox of love is my favorite!

Visiting here from Ft Worth, Texas to find comfort in food and relief in the weather! I found both here @ The Spot. Sitting outside on the patio was a nice option...and change, for me anyway. Loved the vibe of this place, and enjoyed the energy of our server even more! He really seeemed to sincerely enjoy serving my son and I his scrumptious creations. We enquired about the back room inside with the very cool decor...and guitars! Come to find out, blues are played here every Thursday, and open mike every Saturday displaying some local talent. Back to the food...wow, again, he sincerely enjoyed serving us. We had "the mean green" and the special of the day...French toast with fruit. The color and flavors of both dishes were wonderful! Looking forward to our next meal, and those blues on Thursday...

Cool and cozy spot with both outdoor and indoor seating. We went on a Saturday so was in a queue for about 20 mins. The staff is super friendly and they even gave us a complimentary side of fruits coz we had to wait a while before our server made contact. It was very busy so service was a bit slow. I took the dressed home fries with bacon and a side of chicken sausage and it was really good. Add a side of egg and u have a perfect meal. My wife took the two eggs breakfast with biscuit and chicken sausage which was also very good. I wanted to try the cinnamon bun but they had run out of it. I will definitely recommend this place as their food is great.

Staff is friendly and helpful, food is incredible, and the Bloody Mary is perfection. Love the patio seating and walk up window. We'll definitely be coming back here!
Update: Just as good on our second visit, AND we found out just how good their Mimosa is. Very! 😍

The worst service I ever had. Rude, not welcoming, they don’t care about you, they chat loudly all the time between them. You need to wait to give an order till their conversation about their personal life to be end.

Went in after some shopping to get a drink with my husband. Looks nice on the outside, tables are open and looks generally clean. However, waited for 10 minutes only for a random grocery worker to come in who obviously does not work primarily in sbux. She apologized for the wait and explained the guy in sbux was on his lunch (why not close it for 30 mins then?). She took the gentleman's order ahead of us and then it was our turn. I asked her if she had toasted white mocha, she said she didn't know, ok no big deal always gotta have a backup right. I asked her if she had matcha and she said I think so and then told her I wanted a frap and she said I don't wanna mess up your drink. I used to work at a sbux so I offered to tell her how to make it and she declined. Then she started flipping through the recipe cards. During this, a man was praying loudly in the corner while a woman behind us in line started talking to herself and moving her hands about. It was an out of body experience. After about a minute of her sifting through the cards we left. Not to mention the case was full of fruit flies.

VERY RUDE and disrespectful workers. Stood in line for 15 minutes (I didn’t have a mask & was hoping the store or Starbucks could give me one) they didn’t have any to lend out witch is fine, but the Starbucks lady was VERY rude to me about it for absolutely NO reason. I will never be coming back to this Starbucks. Rude people should not be working in customer service period.

very unpleasant experience. I went there 7:50 (10 min before closing) and they refused me saying it is closed. They said they closed at 7:45 but if so why its working hours say it is until 8pm? There were some guys who look to be his friends. Is it okay to close early to hang out with friends?

We stopped here for breakfast before my appointment at the VA hospital. We both have always had great service and food from all Starbucks until today 7/27/2020. Hubby got the Impossible Sausage Sandwich, I got the regular one and a large hazelnut iced mocha. 🤮🤢 We ate outside. The sandwiches were so greasy that they dripped on our pants and badly toasted. The iced mocha had no taste at all! I’m going to contact Starbucks also.

The staff are not trained well. They don’t know how to make half of the drinks they sell and when you try to tell them how most of them give you attitude. Some of the staff is really nice, but still not up to starbucks standards.
