This was a very nice park. I have only been at night and I only go ad far as the first field. I believe there is a back field also. It looks clean and there is alot of parking!

Very nice park. Playground. Paved walking track around the entire complex. The restroom was a little creepy . Nice ballfields.

Peaceful and quite family friendly every step you take.looking forward to visiting serval times doing the end of my work shift😊

Excellent multi use park with lots of recreational areas, walk paths, pavilions, picnic areas, exercise stations, and pretty river views. This is one of the best "go for walk" parks in the entire upstate, as the trails and walk paths are large, and there are even some small offshoots. Additionally, there are tennis courts, a baseball field, playground, and sand volleyball court. Note that the side closest to the zoo has plenty of parking, but on busy days or big events it will get full fast.

The park system here in Greenville is world-class.
Nice trails. Other recreation. Ideal spot for kids, dogs, families.

A very impressive collection of many instruments. They have an enormous collection in which they rotate their pieces so it’s always changing. I especially loved the piano collection and was taken back with the documented history.
The curator (and who acquired many pieces himself) was well versed in his knowledge of each piece and even played some pieces for us. He was helpful and enjoyed answering our questions.
I might also add even the young man taking our ticket had a wealth of information to share and very helpful.
We will return again.

Excellent exhibits, even for non-musical folks!! Parking is either in the Upcountry Museum lot (free) or the farther pay lot closer to the theater (free with a stamp from Sigal). There's 1 handicap parking spot in the Sigal staff lot. Without a handicap permit, we dropped our family members in the staff lot and parked in the theater lot, and enjoyed the good walk across the green.

Nice park with open field. Wish there were permanent soccer goals, but I think the field is mainly used for football. Great sidewalk for walking, and the children's playground looks fun with various activities for children.

Beautiful park with many things to do. Has a dog park, walking trail, and features a large baseball stadium. Walking trail goes on for miles and has signs to point you to different areas of the trail. Dog park is average sized, with split sections for large and small dogs. Dog park has drinking stations for you and your pet. There is also a children's park that has swings, bars, and slides. Great place to go walking or sit on the swinging benches with family. Gorgeous scenery as well.

Absolutely excellent staff and many great historical instruments!

Very nice museum. However, the experience was disappointing. Reservations had been made several weeks in advance for personal tour guide for our party of 8 on Dec 2nd. Tour guide was a no-show. Two in our party were high school musicians and more indepth explanation and discussion would have enhanced the experience. As we traveled from out of town and coordinating of everyone's schedules didn't allow for returning a different day.
The front desk staff was helpful, apologetic about the oversight and comp the visit. But underwhelming visit.

Took the opportunity too check out the Conestee Nature Preserve. We didn't have a lot of time to really explore but what we saw was a very relaxing and peaceful visit. Definitely a place we will revisit and explore more. Paved trails with a mix of nature trails make this an easy place to get around and check out.

Great park. I love the trails. I’ve even participated in a little bit of community effort to remove invasive plant a couple of weekends. The trails are really nice and they make a huge effort with the funding they have to keep them nice and accessible and they really are. The trails are beautiful. Great place to walk and bike. Awesome playground on site and a reasonably maintained dog park.
But, this isn’t the parks fault but people visiting: be aware that the dogs are the park are often not always well behaved and several people have dogs off leash (which is prohibited but people don’t follow the rule) that should not be. So be wary about that if you have a dog that’s new to interacting with dogs or not a big fan of other dogs or young kids around. Also there is a dog park, but if I were you I’d avoid it.

Very dog friendly and we had a great time doing a training session! Everyone was very nice and the park was nice and big!

A magical short loop trail that takes you by a brook and through lovely forest with signage letting you know the species of the various trees. I loved it!

I have been visiting Cleveland Park for about 20 years and although the dog park is gone, it’s still a beautiful park to visit with a lot of features that have been added. The little exercise equipment along the trail is very nice.
I ride my bike to the park and find it very enjoyable and safe.
It also is a great spot for Geocaching.

Always enjoy this park, much more than I expect to. It is Forest and wetlands, and is a peaceful respite from everyday frenetic life. Such a beautiful place, and well maintained.

Visited on 10/8/2023 and this is a great place to see some authentic military history. Very helpful and knowledgeable volunteers as well, and free admittance, but please make a donation to help keep it going! Thank you!

Hey there, American history buffs! Today, I want to pull up those knee socks, strap up my sandles and take a trip down memory lane as we explore the Military History Center of the Carolinas in Greenville, SC. It's time to unleash the power of knowledge and have a "true DAD" experience!
Walking into the Military History Center of the Carolinas is like stepping into a time machine. It's a place where you can immerse yourself in the rich military history of our great nation. From the Revolutionary War to the present day, this place has got it all covered. It's like a supercharged engine filled with fascinating artifacts, exhibits, and a ton of information that will leave you in awe.
Now, let's talk about the exhibits themselves. They've got tanks, planes, uniforms, weapons, and more! It's like a dream come true for any military enthusiast. You'll feel like you're on the set of a history show. You're surrounded by the power and might of military history. It's like a turbo boost for your brain, giving you a deeper understanding of the sacrifices made by our brave men and women in uniform.
But wait, there's more! The staff at the Military History Center of the Carolinas are like the handy neighbors you wish you had. They're knowledgeable, friendly, and always ready to lend a hand. They'll answer your questions with a smile on their face, just like when your neighbor, Wilson, would peek over the fence with his wise advice. They're the real MVPs, just like the dads who always have the right tool for the job.
Now, let me throw in a couple of dad jokes to keep the "fatherly" spirit alive:
1. Why was the math book sad? Because it had too many problems!
2. I used to play piano by ear, but now I use my hands.
3. What do you call a bear with no teeth? A gummy bear!
4. Why don't skeletons fight each other? They don't have the guts!
Now, back to the Military History Center of the Carolinas. It's not just a place to learn, but also a place to honor and pay tribute to those who have served our country. It's like a salute to all the servicemen and women who have dedicated their lives to protect our freedom. It's a reminder that behind every piece of equipment, there's a story of courage and sacrifice.
So, if you're looking for an adventure that combines history, education, and a touch of "more power," head on down to the Military History Center of the Carolinas. It's like a blast from the past, fueled by knowledge and packed with excitement. Remember, knowledge is power, and when it comes to military history, this place has all the power you need.

Nice river views and zoo. The Swamp Rabbit Trail runs through this park and I recommend checking the trail out. There are some walking trails in the woods.

Very nice park, but couldn't give five stars bc od the lack of restroom access.

Very clean and Nice, I enjoyed walking here it was a great experience , would recommend for those who like nature.

Keep expectations reasonable. This is a small, personal museum. Where can you go get Living memories? Here. Much of the history has been donated by people in town. Their stories can be heard directly from them. Their items are on display and the stories that go with them are precious. It's next to the playground and mini golf and Runway Cafe. So take a bit and walk through here. Please leave a donation as they really could us some display cases. Few museums are this up close and personal.
They also have model building days if you are crafty.

Very well marked trails, including a paved path trail that stretches about a mile and a half through the preserve with very nice observation platforms throughout.

The best park in the area! Beautiful walking trails for any age or fitness level and it’s a birder’s paradise. My dog loves coming here as well, just be aware of your surroundings especially with kids and dogs as this is a nature preserve with all kinds of wild animals and reptiles present (a copperhead crossed the path right in front of us on our last visit here). Photos are from multiple visits different times of the year :)

Decent walk in the woods ,combine with the Rock Quarry Garden and Swamp Rabbit Trail with here for a longer walk.

We just moved to SC and this recent find is already a favorite for my fiance and I. We've been twice in the last week to go on hikes through the trails. There is a lot to see and take in, plus plenty of trails to suit your particular needs. Check it out!

We rented a pavilion for a church gathering and had a cookout, and the kids played on the playground. Very nice and clean. I would recommend it for outdoor activities.

This is one of our favorite parks in Greenville. There are trails, both paved and natural. Trail maps are easy to follow and learn and good for those of all fitness levels. I would recommend reviewing the trail map and distances before you set out if you or someone you're with has any difficulty with walking. It's easy to get stuck on the loop and go further than necessary on your first visit if don't know where to turn off. We've ridden bikes and walked with our kids here. The park is dog friendly and has an actual dog park up by the pavilion. There are restrooms and a playground near the trail entrance, as well as a sports complex across the parking lot. Many beautiful water views, quiet spots for nature watching, and great opportunities for photography. Be sure to stop at Dillard's Ice Cream around the corner! We can't visit one without the other!

If you’re a music lover, definitely check out this museum. Very engaging and pleasant experience.

Great little playground for little kids and has some unique features like a rolling rack and a sway swing. A short walk through a wooded area leads to another playground for older kids featuring two swings, a slide and a large climbing obstacle course. There are plenty of shaded picnic tables near both playgrounds, and lights along the path in between the two. Parking is ample, and the baseball grounds and soccer fields look nice too. The park hours are listed as 7am - 7pm, but we were able to stay past 7pm on a Friday night without the gate closing.

You could literally get lost on those trails which is a good thing! Miles and miles of trails with outlooks wildlife observation decks everywhere. Very good for hiking or educational trips.

Great little park at the end of the trail from the bridges and falls. Kiddos can explore while parents enjoy the shade and birds in the canopy. Good option to get to or return to the Gather GVL food hall and walk off those calories.

I live on the east side of Greenville and visit McPherson Park just about every day. It's the best way to access the downtown area imo. I always find free parking here, even when big downtown events are in full swing. It's about a 10 minute walk from the park to NOMA Square, about 20 minutes to Falls Park.
McPherson Park is a nice destination in itself. The bathroom is clean, the trails (although short) are enjoyable, and there are plenty of amenities, including a playground, picnic shelters, a mini golf course, and a tennis court. The last two are very popular.
The park feels safe at night, and the fireflies are a treat in the summer months.
Those looking for a water spigot will find one around the back of the log cabin. Not sure why there isn't one closer to the bathroom or picnic shelters.

Great place to walk, run, and bike! Bring your dog!

Great park, great location. Definitely enjoyed hearing the lions and other animals carry on like old friends would.
Bathrooms were clean, play ground looked to be kept up. Plenty of walking and riding paths.

Great place to spend some time with family and friends. There is a free 18 hole mini golf course. All you need to do is bring your own putters and golf balls.

A small but mighty museum- so much music history on two floors! The kids and I really enjoyed our time here

Great place to get out for a nice hike, run or bike. Very well maintained and preserved. This one of our favorite local spot to go to here in the Upstate. Very easy to moderate terrain with a lot of beautiful scenery and views.

Highly recommend a visit to this museum! They are only open on the weekends, but my family was visiting from out of state during the week. I took a chance and emailed the museum to see if they could do a special opening for us. Sure enough, they did! Sam was very accommodating and friendly. He was very knowledgeable about everything in the museum and we had great conversation. My 3 yr old daughter loved walking around and looking at everything. We kept her occupied by having her look for as many flags as she could find. This museum is great for kids and adults of all ages!

Great paved walking trail. Scenic sights. Connects to Rock Quarry Gardens.

Closing 6-7 trails due to it being "confusing" under the guise of "Wildlife restoration". Mass multiplying "flat trail fund" donation signs, corporate sponsor signs. All this income while trails are in desperate need of refurbishing and cleaning up. Management's only concern is "how much did you donate this month?" Could be such a beautiful park, just run by such terrible people...
Reply: I've been donating substantially hoping for some trail cleanup or rebuilding, Foggy links been closed for months with no progress, Reedy river trail is still full of garbage. Then mass trail closings under a false implication of "Wildlife reclamation". Building sheds, fences and adding cameras certainly did not improve the park. Also take a bit more care in how you speak to your patrons over the phone. The we couldn't care less comes across loud and clear.

Very cool and we got free admission!

A very nice although short (0.4 mile) trail going through a dense forest along a bubbling brook. Many interesting plants grow around, with interpretive signage here and there. It’s a loop trail following the brook on both sides. Lots of shade even in the middle of the day because of tall old trees. After completing it, one may continue on the Eagle Trail that starts nearby and leads to Cleveland Park near the Zoo.
Eagle Trail provides a nice leisurely walk through the woods above the Cleveland Park. It starts above the tennis courts and goes to the south end of the park (where Lakehurst St. meets Fernwood Way). The trail is narrow and not paved, but the surface is quite smooth. Lots of shade, birds and squirrels abound, various trees and plants to admire. About half a mile long.

We always make sure whenever we visit a city or town we include a museum in our schedule. Sigal Music Museum is a must if you visit or live in Greenville and music interests you. Every minute while there was absorbed like sponges. Really impressive collection of historic pianos and harpsichords on the first floor. It was eye-opening to see the intense and dedicated work that was involved for the master craftsmen of the time to create these instruments and that they still exist today.
A fun display of early rock and roll nostalgia is on the second floor. It was our pleasure to have the opportunity to talk at length with the curator who described they have a large inventory and regularly change the main floor exhibit. He went on to say how the floor above gave them an option to put up something different for patrons to see, and they decided to dedicate this space to the earlier histories of music that became great inspirations for the public.

Park was nice, but very limited, the mini golf seemed fun, but lacked any visibility about how to start or join a game...a cute escape though, the tennis courts filled up pretty quickly afterwork hours however.

My wife and I have been to the dog park near the entrance once before, but today was the first time we went into the nature preserve area. We took the yellow trail, which is about 2 miles long, and it was absolutely beautiful! We even saw a doe about 30ft off the trail, which was surprising since it was mid-afternoon. There are multiple spots to stop and view the wildlife, like long platforms and several tall chairs and sitting areas. We're both looking forward to coming back and exploring all of the other trails.

My granddaughter's third birthday party was held there. The playground and shelter were very nice. There was a large hole right at the entrance to the shelter from the playground that needs to be filled. The bathrooms were clean but as with all outdoor bathrooms the smell was not pleasant. Overall we enjoyed the day.

I love going here and hiking the different trails. There are asphalt trails, there are dirt trails, there are boardwalk over swamp trails. There's tons of wildlife and birds and things. The trails are well maintained and somewhat easy to navigate (follow the blaze). There is a bamboo forest type of thing. They hold lots of events here all the time. It's very much worth contributing to the park. I mean they have a beer tasting festival every year, wine trail hikes, night time, dinner and wine events and then all kinds of other events throughout the rest of the year. There are baseball parks and stuff as well. Very nice!

Loved this nature preserve. So many different paths to take. Though many people were walking through the preserves, there were times when we were the only ones. So nice to experience this nature preserve. It’s right in the Conestee Park, you wouldn’t even know it was there. Plenty of signage to help keep you on track. Occasional information boards. Observation points and decks as well.

Very great place, we love it! The volunteer who conducts us are very knowledgeable.

This park is by far one of the coolest city parks I’ve found in Greenville so far. The public minigolf course was recently renovated and looks fantastic. Located right on the outskirts of downtown off Academy, it’s a nice little hidden gem of a park with plenty of shade in the summer.

"This park is a must see! The scenery is beautiful and there's plenty of room to run around and explore. My dog loves it here!
"

Amazing little trail - we had a ball with our pup!

Lovely swampy boardwalk stroll. Was fun to see even on this chilly autumn day. The nearby park has lots of picnic tables under a large pavilion, as well as a playground and a dog park. Really nice area.

Love this park. It's like a buy one get two free deal. Walking area ✓,playground ✓ bathroom ✓, lots of parking ✓. May see some cool animals/bugs. Beautiful sunsets and meet lots of pups ✓.
Lots of trails to walk on, ranging from small distances to i believe just over 2 miles.

My husband, our friend, our dog, and I visited Cleveland Park on a rainy day. We entered through the entrance nearest to Fernwood Nature Trail. Based on the Google Maps description, we visited very little of the park. We cut our visit short due to the rain. The area we explored was quiet, clean, and peaceful. We noticed little workout stations in the area designed for individuals who are ambulatory or in wheelchairs. The path we walked on looked like a good walking, running, or biking path. There was a parking lot next to the entrance we utilized as well.

We visited during our vacation in the area. Very simple trail through the woods. My husband, our friend, our dog, and I enjoyed it.

We loved it here 😄😄😄 the park itself was huge and the playground was really awesome. We saw a squirrel which was really a plus because we love them! ❤️❤️❤️ so cute! My kids love it here and me and my husband had so much fun playing in the swings too! 😂😂😂 It was a fun fun family day for us! ❤️😄

What's not to like? The entire park is very well taken care of and just charming. The train that rain through the park in the 50s has been replaced with a free putt-putt course. I haven't played, so I'm unsure if you need to bring your own putter and ball. Walking paths with benches, tennis courts, picnic shelters with tables, public restrooms, close parking, even a free book exchange. On the walking trails several small bridges cross over from what I've read is an unnamed creek. If it is unnamed, can I claim it? Dibs! I name thee body of water - Jeff Creek. The stone and concrete foot entrance with the cannons and National Register of Historic Places plaque looks amazing. I've been trying to track down and get a picture of all the available NRofHP bronze markers in Greenville. McPherson Park's plaque is displayed the grandest of any I've seen so far. The marker is prominently mounted on a stone podium centered between two cannons. It's the Frank Howard's Rock of landmark medallions!

Wonderful place, great walks along several trails in the Preserve, with some sections paved, some having boardwalks and others – natural surface. Beautiful trees, plenty of aquatic plants, wildflowers, various birds, butterflies (but beware of snakes – we saw a young copperhead in the middle of the paved path!). Birds chirping, toads croaking, even roosters crowing in a distance – nature lover’s dream place! Can be accessed (free) at several places, but Conestee Park area adjacent to the Preserve is probably the most convenient one: ample parking, playgrounds, pavilions, restrooms, water fountains and trailheads of a number of trails going into the Preserve.

Cute park! I like the shade canopies over some of the equipment and the musical features like the drums and bell sounds. Could have a bathroom closer for the kids, but there is one close to the baseball dugout area.

This is a beautiful trail BUT it is COVERED in poison ivy!! I was about 3 minutes in and I looked down and I was surrounded by poison ivy vines. Be very very careful running or biking here!!

Believe it or not, we've lived in Greenville County since 1994 and have never been to this mini golf course. I understand they updated it in recent years. It's very nice. Bring your own putter and balls and have in mind a way to keep score. (We used the skins method but you could print out a score sheet before going or find an app.) Obstacles are made of natural things like rocks and the landscaping is pretty. The park sits in a valley so you get the feel of a growing city around it. Fun.

Beautiful nature trail inside the Cleveland park and the swamp rabbit 🐇 trail in downtown Greenville South Carolina, you can get lost in nature and forget you are close to the City 🏙

Amazing play grounds...they have a lot of play area for both the little ones and the olders...there playground are separated by age which is awesome! 2-5 and 5 & up.
My babies had the best time 🥰

McPherson Park in the North Main Neighborhood holds the title of the oldest park in Greenville. Established in 1884 this 12.5 acres of wooded haven is the home to Sears Recreation center and log cabin, which at one time served as a consignment shop for the sale of handicrafts made by retirees. Two playgrounds anchor the park on both ends, as an 18 hole miniature golf course (bring your own equipment for a free round) and bandstand claim a good portion of the middle of the park. Walking paths connect the two playgrounds, crossing a small creek with a number of bridges. Public bathrooms, off street parking and tennis courts are also available. The overall park is clean and maintained but walking paths are in need of attention as they are cracked, buckled and crumbing at the edges. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and take a moment to find tranquility in the murmur of the stream, the calling of birds and the laughter of children.

Gorgeous little hidden gem!

We stopped in today after eating at the runway cafe, and it was really cool! The kids loved seeing all the memorabilia, and the staff was very knowledgeable and informative. It's not a huge place, but it's thoroughly packed with cool stuff. Definitely worth checking out!

Excellent! Well worth the drive from Abbeville! We'll definitely go back! This Organization functions solely on the donations of patrons, and volunteers! Please, support history preservation organizations whenever possible! We can't lose the knowledge that these groups share! Our future generations MUST LEARN its importance!

Such an awesome park with picnic tables, tennis courts, a basketball court, a paved walking trail that leads to Falls Park in downtown Greenville, and a very cool Veterans Memorial. The perfect place to spend a sunny day!

Wow a great trail. Really brings the whole family and fido together for a fun, relaxing, and stress-free stroll upon Greenvilles finest nature trail.

A park has been built along the Ready River. It is a good place to go anytime in the 4 seasons. Safe, beautiful, and neat. It is good to walk along the swamp Rabbit Trail in the morning or late afternoon. With children, it would be good to use playgrounds and picnic areas located in between. The road leads to the Greenville Zoo.

First time we went... was neat especially for a winter day... trails not to tough for my kids, had no idea how big it was but was nice and people were nice also.. not too sure if id go in summer bc i know theres snakes i mean it is a swamp...

It is beautiful!! I will say though people going through the trail will need to remember the very last bridge that takes you back to the start of the path is out. You may have to trek back just a little bit to find a path that takes you back.

Just left this park. It seems adults leave items here not suitable for children. Pretty gross. And there was glass on the ground in the parking area. There’s cleaner, safer free parks in town. Don’t go here.

Absolutely love this place. I only wish there was a way to make people follow the rules of the park. No fishing. All dogs on a leash. Stay on marked trails. Walk bikes across all boardwalks. Don't litter, and yes this means your bag of dog poop you leave on the trail or toss into the bushes. Do not harass wildlife( including catching frogs and turtles) and don't disturb the plants or trees.

They were so nice and fast

Absolutely phenomenal. Period. The first thing I'll say is that this museum is small at the moment compared to the actual size of the building. After all, it has only been open since the Spring. There are only 2 rooms, one on each floor. However, they are both filled with historic grand pianos, harpsichords, and square pianos. Complete with descriptions and histories of each one. One of their grand pianos was reportedly played by Chopin for a few hours, another was unbelievably found in a chicken coop. Each one is beautiful and immaculately restored, but unfortunately not all are in tune. In fact, you can't play the majority of them (they're roped off and don't let them catch you trying! lol). The curator Tom has big plans for this museum in the coming months, which will eventually include string instruments. I can't wait to see this museum the next time I go down to South Carolina.

Difficult to find due to the small sign and very limited parking. Recomend going to one of the larger parking lots to start your hike. Once on the trail everything is great. Well maintained, plenty of signs informing of the parks past. Trails are marked, but be careful if you don't have a trail map. You can easily get turned around and find yourself much farther from your car than you think.

I was visiting and needed a place to run with my husband and girls. McPherson Park was walking distance from our hotel. The trail was not long however we made it work. There is a lot to do there with mini gulf, tennis courts, a park and the landscape was nice to. Nice little spot!

Watch for SNAKES! I suggest pack a first aid kit, a basket, + snacks & water just in case. Took the 4 boys out to "breathe fresh air" & had a blast along all the trails.
NOTE: DO NOT SWIM OR GET IN THE WATER. THE SEDIMENT IS CONTAMINATED.
There is a warning on the website.
We found mushrooms, sparkleberries, & tons of wild blackberries along with wildlife galore!
Just remember to have fun & be prepared to explore a good bit.

Beautiful and peaceful. A great way to enjoy the Creator's handiwork.

The park has a nice little play area for kids and a area to play basketball and to have a little picnic

Blah.

Great place for families to come and play horseshoe, watch their kids on the playground, or get in a game of pickup street ball on a full sized concrete court. It's not flat enough to throw a ball or Frisbee any considerable distance.
