Lovely square especially if the weather is sunny. Unfortunately the water was missing from the fountain which was a bit of disappointment for us. It is very crowded area during the weekends. The channel next to the fountain was also almost empty.
The place turns to be lovely Christmas market and outdoor carousel for children during Christmas time. This area becomes so crowded and lovely charming place to visit for tourist. You can talk 15-20 minutes walk from Colmar train station.

Disappointing fountain, poorly maintained. A displeasing experience that could benefit from interventions to restore both its appearance and functionality.
Beautiful place, you can explore this place by walking or cycling
Small park but offers some nice options for spending time with family and friends.

A beautiful place is worship. Stained glass, loads of nooks to find a quiet place to contemplate.
Essen unterirdisch.

Monumento a Bartholdi.
The church is all renewed inside, but it is worth to enter for the stained glasses and especially the Mary of the Rose Bush, a true work of art. Nice lady at the entrance, especially because she did not ask to cover up.
Nothing special. A statue in an roundabout intersection. A little replica of Statue of Liberty from New York. Even to make photo it's no so easy. If you want to make pictures go in the evening or in the early morning because the sun in the middle of the day it's behind the statue and all the photos will be contrajours. And be careful to the cars when you make photo from the middle of the street!
The Statue of Liberty in Colmar is a unique commemoration of sculptor Auguste Bartholdi, born in the city, who crafted the iconic Statue of Liberty in New York. Standing 12 meters tall, this tribute is located just a short drive from the city center, situated in a roundabout. Although the statue's placement is not appealing at all, taking a few extra minutes to park near the local shopping center allows for a better vantage point for capturing this remarkable landmark.
Perfect for the summer months, has got a few fountains and a ground spray area to cool down the little ones. Also has a carousel and a few cafes. Very clean and well maintained

Bonitos dibujos. Bonito si te viene de paso
Nice open space to come to, away from the narrow streets and tourists, relax under the trees and enjoy the fountains.
Beautiful park. We took our two years old som in swimming shorts and he was so excited about the fountains. Not so many things to do for adults its more for kids. Highly recommend the place if you are visiting Colmar.
Fun to visit, plenty of parking available around the corner. While it’s a bit disappointing you canno go up close (because it’s in the middle of the roundabout), it’s still quite impressive.
Definitely worth a visit in Colmar.

an oddly wild curiosity on a busy roundabout in the middle of an industrial estate. There is mostly empty large parking nearby, constructed in the expectation of a great number of visitors.

Beautiful park with lots of trees around and open place for kids to enjoy. Park has three fountains, a carousel house and some other attractions too.

Nothing special, nice & clear park with many bench.
There is a nice carousal 🎠
You can find free toilettes 🚻: next to the park there is a square & at the end of that you have to go down a floor with elevator.
♿️
Nice to see. But it's quite a bit out of town. And you can't stop there or anything.
Picturesque park in the middle of downtown Colmar. Ideal place for a walk or to relax.

Historic fountain rebuilt after World War II. This is in the centre near the Old Custom House. It is decorated with the statue of Lord Schwendi
Great location, wonderful fountain with its outstanding sculptures.

The park is beautifully decorated during Christmas time. You will also see a carousel for kids. But, yeah adults can try too !! Why not, keep the child within you alive ;)
Many have said it’s small and easy to miss but I would disagree. Beautiful even without water when when visited.

Installed in 1898, this fountain is surmounted by a bronze statue of Auguste Bartholdi representing Lazarus of Schwendi (1522-1583).
Demolished in 1940, the fountain was rebuilt after the war with a smaller basin and oriented differently, to accommodate the statue again on the Place de l'Ancienne Douane.

Warlord in the service of Emperor Maximilian II between 1564 and 1568, Lazarus of Schwendi left to fight the Turks in Hungary from where he allegedly brought back the Tokay grape variety. Auguste Bartholdi was inspired by this legend to brandish a vine cep to his statue of Schwendi.
As others have said, this monument is a 12 metere high replica of the Statue of Liberty. The designer of the statue was born in Colmar, hence its presence here. The monument stands in the enter or a very, very busy roundabout. There are parking lots close by, but the road is so busy I had no intention of getting my young kids out of the car to walk up to it, nor is the area very picturesque. We drove by and snapped a photo and called it a day - at least the road is a main route to Colmar so not out of the way by any means.

A church with lovely ornate animals on the outside of the building and very animated looking statues.

At the time of visit, there were parts around the church dug up by an archeology group. Bones were found.

Inside the church, beautiful stained windows are worth seeing.

Beautiful church with distinctive roof tiles. The same type you can find on the Koïfhus.

There was some construction work on one side and the other is a parking.

On the inside, we happened to visit during a ceremony. It definitely added some mystical touch to it.
Beautiful church inside and out. Not as extravagant as some other French Catholic Churches but stunning all the same. There was a lot of construction which made for less than ideal photos but we still enjoyed our visit.

Very clean, tidy, quiet. Close to the center, yet quiet.
Greenery rests its eyes. Tobacco cafe with sweets, ice cream and pizza with a carousel from fairy tales, which takes you back to childhood. Recommendation

St. Martin Cathedral is a huge striking edifice set in tiny Colmar old town streets. It dominates the town skyline with its lavish Gothic beauty. The Cathedral was built in 13 and 14 c on the foundations of the previous Church.
Marvelous altar, stained glass and organ.

Big church locate in the middle of the city near saint martin church .Entre fee for2€ /person but inside nothing to see much just a drawing picture of Madona of the rose bush and a little

What a unit! This church at the center is mighty impressive.

We were only able to view the church from the outside, but even so, it's well worth visiting.

The plaza surrounding it is filled with interesting landmarks and pleasant cafes.

Ah-maze-zing church! The architecture that went into this church is incredible. What’s even more beautiful are the church bells as your standing right in front of the church. I was amazed to say the least. Definitely worth seeing if you are in Colmar.

Nice fountain in a great location. However as many others have stated, it is rather small and very easy to miss. I, myself had walked right by it and turned back around to see it.

We were there in December, so the Christmas Village crowds were at a high. The church was such a beautiful structure, but too crowded to get inside. This village redeemed my feelings about France (not a fan of Paris) with only one rude restaurant owner who clearly did not like Americans. The rest of the folks were so sweet and cheery.
Maisons typiquement alsaciennes, dépaysant.
Beautiful statue of the hero of the city of Colmar: Bartholdi. Creator of many known statues and landmarks, including the Liberty Statue in New York, US.

Beautiful church, located 200m north-west of the remarkable St. Martin's Church.
Must see

Too crowded in high season. But for a good reason. Annecy could compete with the best of France's flowering villages, which is remarkable given that it is a sizable city. Driving into and out of town in summer might cost you an hour each.

The statue on top of the fountain is that of Jean Roesselmann,
considered to be a first hero of Colmar. The statue is made of bronze and was sculpted by Auguste Bartholdi in 1888. Jean Roesselmann died defending Colmar against the forces of Bishop of Strasbourg.

This fountain was not as big as many of the other representations of Bartholdi's in the area, and is easy to overlook with so many interesting buildings surrounding it. Also, while we were there, their were Easter decorations that were hung around it, so that probably also detracted a bit from it's overall impact. It is certainly worth your time to stop and take a look, but no need to linger.

Another one of Auguste Bartholdi’s statues, the Roesselmann Fountain was sculpted in 1888, and the bronze statue above represents the public judge Jean Roesselmann. He passed away while defending Colmar against the Bishop of Strasbourg, and he is also considered to be the first hero of the city. The statue was taken away by the Germans in 1943, but was restored and reinstalled in 1945 on a white stone monument decorated with four fishes. Today people use the steps below it to sit on.
The Church of the Dominicans (Église des Dominicains), is a major work of the architecture of the mendicant orders, that began construction in 1283. The Dominicans who arrived in 1278, were driven out of the city temporarily in 1330. Since 1973, it houses "The Virgin at the Buisson de Roses" (La Vierge au buisson de roses), the masterpiece of Martin Schongauer.
This church is beautiful and is a must-see for those traveling in the region. It is not quite like any others I have seen nearby.
Hermosa casona.

Auguste Bartholdi’s statue (1888), of the public judge Jean Roesselmann. He passed away while defending Colmar and the municipal liberties against the troops and the covetousness of the Bishop of Strasbourg. He is also considered as the first hero of Colmar and has similarities with Hercule de Peyerimhoff, the mayor of the city from 1855 to 1877, who was relieved from his duties because he refused to submit to the German authorities. Taken away by the Germans in 1943, the bronze statue was restored and reinstalled in 1945 on a white stone monument decorated with four fishes.
