Great enclosed dog park that costs only $75.00/year for two dogs. There are two fence sections. One is specifically for small dogs, and a much larger enclosure is for all dogs. The facility is well maintained.

Very nice display with plenty to do! Although we missed the book reading held on MLK day, we enjoyed the various other workshops and exhibits on site.
The St. Louis history museum is a wonderful free museum located at one of the entrances to Forest Park. The exhibit at always great. I usually attend two to three a year event a year held by the museum. It is also located right off the metro link making is really convenient.

Great zoo & it's free! You will pay for parking though but at $10 it's still a bargain.

Up close & personal with many animals. We were here in January & weather was quite mild 40-45 or so. I imagine in Spring or Fall it would be perfect!
I only expected limited exhibition space but there’s a fair amount. The exhibits were excellent overall, although one is starting to look a little dusty. Could definitely spend an entire afternoon here with patient kid learners (there’s also a dedicated hands-on area for the littler ones), or an entire day if you can recharge at the cafe (it was closed the day I visited).
This zoo is absolutely the best! We enjoyed every bit of the zoo. 95% of the animals were active and we enjoyed the view to the fullest. It’s a great place for family outing with the kids. There are several aquariums including the hippos, Mississippi River fishes, penguins, and sea lions. Each of the aquariums were great. Please plan to spend at least 4-5 hours in the zoo, otherwise it won’t be possible to watch all the animals.

Very nice public zoo with free admission. There are a few pay as you go attractions once inside but you can enjoy every other exhibit at no charge. Recently went to the Wildlight event and it was a fantastic holiday display to take in while on the walking paths.

12/26/23: nice sunny day to visit. Parking is $10. Or you can park on the street and get your walk steps in. Some areas are closed for the winter season but you’ll still have a nice day. Enjoy.
Missouri History Museum is a nice little museum. While small in size, there is a lot to do especially if you're looking for something to bring the kids to. We went during the day and there was plenty of kids around, probably a school trip. There was a lot of fun things that kids can do like color the walls in the architecture area. The photos I took reminded me of my mother's old kitchen before she had it redone. Quite a history, worth a visit on a trip to STL.
Citygarden Sculpture Park is different from other parks around the area - it's more artsy! It has unique sculptures and a very cool waterfall. There is also a coffee shop where you can hang out at. In summers, kids can enjoy here al day in water splash or pool, while in winters, you can see lots of beautiful festive lights.
Just a caution: In late evening hours, beware of some shady natured people who might be roaming around.
I visited this zoo twice in one week, on Friday and then Sunday. This was my first time coming here and actually my first time ever coming to a zoo as an adult. At first it was discouraging because we didn’t see animals at the first few exhibits but then we were mind blown. The experience was amazing and we had so much fun. Came all the way from out of state and it was definitely worth it.

Super cool monument!!! It was very fascinating to take the ride to the top and see out from 630 ft in the air. Prices were affordable for the tram ride, although the Cafe and gift shop were pretty overpriced. The museum was very fascinating and informative, and a wonderful experience.
Lovely! We stoped on our way to a hockey game and where very impressed, it’s beautiful!! Definitely worth the visit.
Great experience! Great views! Caution: it does swap at the top so don't freak out when it does. I am terrified of heights, but it actually wasn't too bad, just had to shut my eyes on the tram portion. Museum is nice too, expect to spend 30 min there as well
I came here by chance since I was close by to check out the Gateway Arch! Next time, I'll attend a mass here for sure.

I am an avid park-goer, and let me tell you, this park is HUGE!!! Many parts of the park have different things to see, such as museums, castles, the zoo, restaurants, boat rides, and so much more. I have been to the park three times, and each time, I check different parts to see new things. Moving to STL, this has become one of my favorite parts of my day off. I come here to enjoy the scenery and take my pup out for his daily exercise. I highly recommend checking out this park!
It might not be so ancient as the European churches. However, the number of mosaic pieces is incredible. The work that was done 100 years old is unbelievably gorgeous...You feel like you are a part of this huge masterpiece. Just emotions. ❤️❤️❤️

Pretty big park to be right next to the St. Louis downtown. The park was clean, tons of locations to take pictures or relax. The entrance to the arch is up the hill towards the capitol building. You get a great view of the downtown and the river too. You can buy tickets ahead of time or at the entrance. I would take a look online before hand there are different discounts that may be found.

Another beautiful day for the zoo! I can never recommend the St. Louis Zoo, enough!
My family and I always have a blast when we go!! We happened to go on the very last day for the dinosaur kids park! They've been rated as the number 1 free zoo in America multiple times for a reason!

I love this zoo so much!

They always have educators posted around the zoo who are knowledgeable about the animals in their areas and have posts with each exhibit that gives general information about each animal found within it.

The zoo is free to enter and is fairly priced on the majority of extra attractions and even their gift ship items aren't terribly expensive, in comparison with the average American zoo.

My only big gripe is that while they say they're accessible, that's not entirely true. If you have an electric wheelchair or scooter, absolutely. They're great. But if you are a manual wheelchair user the zoo can be a nightmare to traverse. The hills are abundant and steep, making for hard inclines and dangerous declines.
If you're a manual wheelchair user without a companion to push you or help you up the hill, or you're not an ambulatory wheelchair user and cannot assist the chair up the hills or brake with your feet, I highly recommend renting an electric scooter or waiting until you have a companion to assist you in your visit.

To end on a high note, all the facilities were clean and the layout of the zoo was simple to follow.

Great place for the whole family, just be extra aware of possible hazards if you're disabled.

We loved going to the Zoo! Growing up in San Diego we always loved the San Diego Zoo so it was a fun experience and see another large Zoo. Free admission is amazing! Buying the additional attractions is a fun plus for those who want a few extra things to do. The wrist bands made it easy to walk into the extra attractions without having to keep track of tickets. It was clean and well kept. If you are a member of the Zoo the attraction tickets are 50% off. If you are a member of any local Zoo they will honor the 50% off as long as you show the active membership. I didn't know that until I walked up to the window to purchase our tickets, so that was a bonus! We went during the Halloween season and the decorations were awesome! We ate lunch at the Lakeside Cafe. The lines looked long but they were pumping food out quickly. The standard kid friendly options are available and some adult options as well. They did offer alcohol, limited selection but it was offered at a reasonable price actually. The food wasn't crazy priced either, but what you would expect from any fast food place in 2023. Getting around was easy even when it got congested with people. It was a cooler day when we went so the animals were active and out playing. Overall it was a great experience all day and we will definitely make our way back to spend more time looking at all the animals.
The permanent part of the exposition displays the history of St Louis from the time of Native Americans. There are some videos and audios and interactive exhibits. I found that the storytelling part is a hit-and-miss but overall pretty informative. I liked the temporary exhibition of ST Louis architecture. Well structured and interesting from both architecture and history standpoint.
I do think this tour was adequately priced for the value . Just felt like much of what I seen on the tour can kinda be seen from the River walk or Laclede landing . This is more an informative tour of what they use the River for and history about the old buildings . So if you wanna learn about the history then I think this is the tour for you . Kinda hard to see what they are talking about because of the way the chairs are set up . You dont go that far out into the River . Nice view of the Arch from the boat and it was a nice and sunny day . Was nice seeing the bridges up close .
Go here! Not religious, but did find a place to write the name of a deceased loved one for a prayer which was really neat. Just so beautiful and amazing place. Go down to the museum downstairs, very cool!
A beautiful and historic Catholic Church in the United States. This was my first visit since the major renovations. I was happy to see that it was not reccovated and kept is traditional fixtures and design. There is dedicated parking for Mass but please be careful, St. Louis is not safe. St. Louis, King of France, Ora pro nobis.
We hopped on a basic trolley tour of St. Louis, and boy were we delighted that this was a stop along the way (the only stop where we deboarded). Over 40 million mosaic tiles painstakingly installed over 40 years - I think that my mouth was open the entire time. It's best to visit outside of the worship schedule so that you can tour the entire interior.
I immediately felt the spirit of the lord as my daughter and I walked in we dipped a finger in the holy water I blessed my daughter and we proceeded to the front to pray donate then light a candle as we stood in awe!! Centuries old church and the power we felt was truly overwhelming. I beat cancer in a single dad and without gods favor I would not be here so this experience was what I needed as currently my life is financially in ruin but faith gets me through. I left feeling empowered. Thank you father.

Gateway to the west! Such a beautiful park. Well maintained the grounds felt safe spacious and comfortable. Bring your pet and children it’s a place the family will all enjoy. They have river boat rides dining experiences and of course you can go to the top of the arch but I’m pretty sure no pets are allowed to the top of the arches but call to be sure because I’m just guessing myself. But don’t drive by stop, you won’t regret it. The parking was not a problem. Many options.

While I disagree with its designation as a 'National Park,' there's no denying the arch is an architectural wonder. We really enjoyed the park and the ride to the top was thrilling. My 4 yr old is still talking about what a fun trip it was. Highly recommend.
The pond sits in the center. It's such a beautiful sight.
Excellent free museum with seasonal rotating exhibits. In fall of 2023 there were great features on Missouri history over 150 yrs into the past, and outstanding feature on traditional and changing architecture, and they have flyers on several other fantastic free Missouri museums. Appropriate and engaging for all ages. Very clean well maintained facility including all exhibits, the small restaurant, and clean restrooms. A great stop for our family.

What a cool experience! Highly recommend making a plan to visit the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. Make sure you buy tickets in advance. The earlier in the day, the better. It gets busy and sells out. The tour to the top was awesome. If you’re claustrophobic, this isn’t for you. The pods are small and fit 5 tiny people. The ride to the top is 4 minutes long, back down is 3 minutes and they give you about 10 minutes at the top. The views are insane. You can see the Mississippi River on one side, and Downtown STL on the West. You can even see Busch Stadium! The grounds aren’t huge but give yourself time to go through the self guided tour. You’ll also want to walk around the outside. Lots of photo opportunities as well! All in all, very cool place! Definitely check it out!
Beautiful pond with a large number of Koi.
Nothing but a great time here. Lots to learn of the history of St.Louis. Free everyday of the week, you can’t miss it. History beautifully divided into the past and present for everyone to immerse themselves in.

It was such a cool experience to see in person. It's a lot bigger than I expected. We went there early in the morning, and there was no one around, so we got a lot of time for pictures and just enjoying the arch. By the time we did the sightseeing outside and went up into the arch, we were done by 1130 or so, and it got busy quickly. Would recommend if you are able and around the area.
It's such a cool place to relax and have a drink. Love the indoor/outdoor space around the Koi pond. There are blue boxes around the pond with Koi food that you only pay a quarter to use. In the middle of the pond are multiple flowers that shot fire up into the air to music on the top of each hour. You can feel the heat from the edge of the Koi pond from the chair area. We spent hours there just drinking and people watching. Very cool place to be!

My favorite parts to play pickleball at. However, one of the other local places the pickleball courts seems to be under construction. So recently the courts have been busier than normal.
There are six pickleball courts and two tennis courts.
There is a dog park and a lake that you can go fishing in, how are you? Do have to release all the fish that you catch.
Free parking.
Bathroom facilities.
There is at least one covered picnic area, how are there maybe more.
Dogs are allowed outside the dog park on leash.
Recommend this part for sure.
My hubby and I took a lovely little walk to the museum and went inside to cool off. The exhibits are free. It is cool and quiet and the perfect place to be still and quiet for a moment. I colored on the walls, and the coloring area goes on and on taking you on a fantastic interactive architectural journey through the city. We are new to the area and this was the best introduction to the city. I plan to walk to as many of these majestic locations as possible. The sports exhibit was a lot of fun. My hubby beat me at foosball, we watched a couple of young boys challenge each other in a soccer video game projected on the wall, all good fun. I appreciate the museum so much, just for being something so special and accessible.

Forest Park is the coolest park in the country. Seriously. The paths through and around the park deliver you from the golf course and swanky unique homes through a wildflower abundant re-wilded grassland and deposits you at the entrance of the Zoo (which is FREE)! Choose a different route and you are circling the Missouri history museum (also free) bursting with interactive exhibits, gliding past the jewel box, and strolling into a planetarium 🪐! The things you could see and do for free are mind boggling! I have gotten so much exercise and sunshine just because Forest Park is so alluring. There is a massive hospital on one end and a university on the other. Gorgeous architecture lines the bordering streets. Many paved and unimproved paths to explore. I ❤️ STL
Religious or not, everyone should visit here at least once. It is stunning. It takes your breath away when you step inside. It feels like you're stepping into a Cathedral Basilica in Italy.
I visited here last week. As a national park it’s definitely ranked at the bottom when it comes to national parks. Looks like the area is a national park for tourism and commercialization purposes. There are plenty of beautiful natural areas in Missouri that deserve national park status instead of the gateway arch. The gateway arch should go back to being called the national memorial instead of a national park. Parking is near the Busch Stadium downtown, highly recommend booking in advance. As a tourist attraction, It’s definitely fun. I had more fun here than I originally thought. The museum is informative about the history of St. Louis as well as the history of the gateway Arch. Took the tram ride to the top too, you get a view of St. Louis looking west and looking east you get a view of Illinois and the Mississippi River. If you want to go just to see all that national parks in America, you might consider skipping it as there isn’t any scenery and or natural wonders here like you would at Yellowstone, Yosemite or the Grand Canyon. If you’re wanting to check it out to see all the famous landmarks and structures in America then it’s definitely worth it. I got 4 national parks down, 59 more to go! 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Great zoo. We were traveling through the area and stayed an extra day based on the recommendation of friends. We were not disappointed in the least. We spent the day there with our 3-year old and had a great time. The zoo has a great layout and is very clean. Staff was also very helpful and friendly.
We took the river bowl, dinner cruise, and it was just as expected and it was very awesome! The food was a solid seven out of 10 (imo) and the length of the journey was just right! #recommended
Nice cruise, the guide was very informative - but difficult to hear at the back of the boat on the open top deck. There are plenty of places to sit inside or get under cover if the weather is bad (we had a little rain, so that was appreciated.) Very fun way to see the river front and learn a bit of history and riverlore on the way
It was an enjoyable little cruise. We had lunch first on the pier and it was delicious. We sat close to the wheel of the boat and couldn’t hear what the guide was saying but the sights of the buildings being in tatters and inhabited by so many unhoused was an extremely sobering experience. I’m from out of town and this wasn’t exactly the kind of cruise that I expected but I am glad that I had that experience.
Quoted from the visitors guide-
“… unique design combines architecture of Romanesque style on the exterior with a wondrous Byzantine style interior.
In the narthe (vestibule) the mosaics depict the life of Saint Louis IX, King of France…
“…one of the largest collections of mosaics in the world, created by 20 different artists and covering 83,000 square feet. The installation, containing 41.5 million pieces of glass tessare employing over 7,000 colors, began in 1912 and was completed in 1988 by the Ravenna Mosaic Co….Pope John Paul Il designated the Cathedral of St. Louis a Basilica in 1997.”

Make sure to go downstairs to the mosaic museum.

Absolutely outstanding and breathtaking.
A must see.
Beautiful homily – and community.
Perfect way to start a day.
Daily Mass.
Multiple weekend Masses.
Not knowing the history of the statue, you think you are somewhere in Madrid walking the park there.
What can I say. You can't beat free. But for real this zoo was amazing. I wish I had more time to visit all the exhibits. The park was clean and wasn't overcrowded when I went. They have a huge selection of animals to look at. Plenty of spots to sit down and eat and of course gift shops . I'll definitely want to come back if I visit Saint Louis again. It's a great spot for family trip.

What a great zoo! It was truly a beautiful set up and maintained zoo with plenty to do! The admission was free for the entire family which is a huge plus, and there are a few paid attractions in the zoo which were worth the money, but entirely optional. The food was tasty and prices fairly. The animals looked to be well taken care of and had nice big enclosures. The zoo was huge and had much more to do and see than we were expecting coming from a smaller city with a much smaller zoo. Spent 4 hours here and honestly could have spent even more time to see and do everything. If you enjoy zoos at all this is absolutely a must visit if you're in the area!

Wow, Forest Park in St. Louis during autumn is like walking through a painting! The trails were unreal with colors that photos just can't do justice. Reds, oranges, and yellows lit up the trees, making each step feel magical. It's hard to believe you're in the middle of a city when you're surrounded by such natural beauty.

The trails themselves are superb, well-maintained, and easy to follow. Perfect for a run. The vibe is relaxed; people jogging, couples taking in the scenery, and even some photographers trying to capture the perfect fall shot. You'll find spots where the canopy of leaves is so thick, it's like walking under an umbrella of colors.

Despite it being a busy park with a zoo, museums, and other stuff, the trails give you this sense of peace and isolation. If you get the chance to visit in the fall, don't miss it. The autumn colors make it a whole different experience, one you won't forget.

What a day! We have been to this zoo over a dozen times, and it never gets boring. The additions for various animals and new habitats make it a fun time. The zoo is all about learning and entertaining for all generations. Whether it's the dinosaurs or the penguins or any other species. It's a good time for all of us.
Went in evening wasn't crowded but parking was hard to get information. Even on meters required credit card.
I had the pleasure of visiting Citigarden Park in St. Louis this May, and I must say it was a delightful experience overall.

The park's natural beauty and well-maintained green spaces truly stand out. The lush gardens and manicured lawns create a serene and inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing day outdoors. It's evident that the staff takes great pride in keeping the park in excellent condition.

One of the highlights of Citigarden Park is its variety of plant species and colorful flowers, which add a vibrant touch to the surroundings. It's a great place for nature enthusiasts and photographers looking to capture the beauty of flora.

The park also offers a range of amenities, including seating areas, picnic spots, and clean restroom facilities, which enhance the overall experience for visitors. It's a family-friendly location, and I observed many families enjoying picnics and children playing in the designated play areas.

The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I believe there's room for even more activities or events to further engage visitors. Perhaps organizing occasional cultural or educational events could make Citigarden Park an even more dynamic and diverse place to visit.

Nevertheless, my visit to Citigarden Park was thoroughly enjoyable, and I would recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful escape in the heart of St. Louis. It's a hidden gem that offers a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of city life.
one of the very good experiences in St Louis. a Very relaxing cruise with a lot of interesting valuable information shared by the captain. The experience of the magnitude of the river is really something special. I will say a "must do" if you visit St Louis.
Perfect spot to sit, relax, and enjoy a cup of coffee. The sculptures are awesome and fun to look at!

They are kind of particular about photography, which, we understand, because photographers would be there all the time. But if you're nice and discrete and don't have a bunch of gear, you can get a few nice shots. Check this place out!

Love stopping by here to get in some fishing 🎣 at the two ponds. Some outdoor fun, close to home. Lots of activities to choose from. Walking 👣 trails, disc golf, playground, splash area, or benches to just relax and enjoy the scenery. It also has some pickleball and tennis 🎾 courts.
We enjoyed the 45 min -1 hour ride on the Mississippi River. The tour guide gave history of the area. It was not temp. Controlled. However, it was beautiful.

This is by far my most favorite park in and around the St. Louis area that I love going to. It's aesthetically and naturally beautiful all throughout the park. It's a great place for biking, walking, picnicking, reunions, and just simply taking in the views from wherever you decide to you want to go within the park. There are several places I really enjoy, such as the St. Louis Zoo, the World's Fair Pavillion, the museum, just to name a few. If you're ever traveling through this town and looking for a really nice park to visit, stop on by Forest Park. You won't be disappointed.
This is a well preserved historical church building. My husband and I stopped in here on our way to the gateway arch and the sanctuary is beautiful. This was a nice quiet place to pray and reflect in the middle of a busy city.
This is one of the most beautiful cathedral we've seen around the world. It has the most beautiful mosaic that rivals those in France and UK. In fact it's the largest collection of mosaic in the world. Building the church took 7 years, but the mosaic work took 76 years. If you visit St. Louis, this is a site that you should not miss. It's literally jaw-dropping. Amazing!
We rode on the Tom Sawyer boat and the ride was smooth. The captain pointed out interesting landmarks along the route and provided some history around them. The dock is located right next to the arch. We purchased an arch tram experience and the riverboat experience as a combo ticket. Coasting along the Mississippi River for an hour was a cool experience.
Absolutely incredible/beautiful church. While I am not overly religious, I was in all of his beauty. Very clean and highly polished marble large wooden pews, huge vaulted ceilings, filled with gorgeous mosaics. They have on display the chair that the pope sat in on a visit. As well as a rare 14th century choir book on display. Regardless of your religious affiliations if you have the chance to stop by and see this basilica, it is well worth your time.
Incredibly preserved church. It is the only original building left on the St Louis waterfront and is still an active church.
Beautiful view of the longest river in North America, the Mighty Mississippi! You are literally on the shore of this majestic river with the STL Gateway Arch shadowing right behind you! Take a riverboat or helicopter tour right from the banks is a MUST-DO!

Also, check out the graffiti mural levee wall...
A massive and impressive cathedral that combines both Eastern and Western European architectural styles. As impressive as the exterior is, the interior is on a whole other level. Just seeing pictures of the interior was enough for me to want to visit. I wasn't aware though that the designs and artwork on the walls/ceilings were mosaics and not paintings. That made it all the more impressive just thinking of all the effort it took to finish it. There are free tours that occur throughout the day and we were fortunate enough to catch one. This is recommended as you are able to go to a few places that are inaccesible if not on the tour. There is also a small museum in the basement.

It is a beautiful park with beautiful sculptures. I would rate it higher, but there was a lot of trash and some sketchy people. One woman came up to us because some weird man was following her. We walked her to her office. I did not feel all that safe here as a man was killed about a block away about a week ago. It was a targeted shooting, but a man was killed there. People say it is safe in this downtown area but I am not so sure.

Great park in a nice part of the city. Pickle ball courts, Frisbee golf, dog park, a couple small lakes for fishing and feeding the ducks, picnic areas with grills, playground and a splash pad for the kiddos. What more could you ask for? I've even seen groundhogs hanging out there.
Very unique small sculpture park near a few attractions. In the summer time I can tell it would be the perfect day to spend with kids when the fountains are on. Great place for photos.
Great town mark for New Orleans. This church building is the center of the main colonial city square in NOLA. It’s the reference of the city growth and beginning during colonial times and further expansion. You can enter freely (voluntary contributions are encouraged) and the inside provides great reference of the economic wealth back in the times. Surrounding this cathedral you can find several shops and active areas to center your expeditions to get to know the city better.
We've photographed weddings at the Old Cathedral for over 13 years and love it. The rich history and beauty make it an easy choice for our couples and the staff are always easy to work with.

it’s a park. has a dog park, tennis area, softball/baseball area near the Walgreens, soccer nets depending on the season, playground and “water park” also depending on the season. it has these little shelters where people can host events, overall it’s alright
I visited park on early Sunday summer morning. So there were just a few people doing yoga and walking with dogs. Judging on trash and empty Hennessey bottles this place was super busy a night before. I liked their sculptures. Very liked their flowerbeds with different kinds of fragrant herbs. They have interesting water features.

Nice little hidden away park. Splash pad was nice to see, but definitely needs some love. The facilities lacked doors on the stalls, which could prove to be awkward. Nice playground, soft/bouncy material makes for nice landings for the kids.
Beautiful pond in Union Station. You’re able to feed the fish too, and there are often light shows and music playing. Great place to bring kids.
The peaceful section of the otherwise bustling union station provides the ideal environment for a serene stroll any time of day
Beautiful area but several dead khoi at the pond. Really horrible sight to see. The water is filthy and the conditions aren’t ok for fish
They have done an amazing job transforming Union Station. Where once lay old train tracks, there is now a koi pond (where Chouteau's pond evidently used to be before it was drained a long time ago). Adds a nice natural aesthetic to the complex. For nonCOVID times, there's also an area where it appears they intend to host live music by the pond.
Historic statue features St. Louis's early history during the Civil War. Franz Sigel efforts prevented Missouri from seceding from the Union.
