Beautiful place for photos. I took my mom for mother's day. She enjoyed it. If you're a St.Louis resident, you get a discount at only $6 per person. I was surprised that they had a vegetable section.
Beautiful gardens with guided tram tours, plenty of walking space on paved paths, lots of plant variety and climates all present. Was very busy but there were still pockets of tranquility and peacefulness scattered throughout to explore and discover. Small Cafe and restaurant right on the grounds. Several rare and endangered plant species are kept and nurtured there. Well worth the trip and easily 2~4 hours well spent in the sun and greenery.
I love the Missouri Botanical Gardens. I've been a member for many years. Spring is my favorite time to visit the garden and I try to go weekly because so much changes each week.
Perfect Sunday in April to visit. Sunny and mid 60s. I brought my camera and had a blast walking around taking pictures. This place is big. A lot of plants and flowers aren’t bloomed yet but it’s still pretty. The gift shop is large and prices aren’t terrible. Good location for the garden, lots of parking! Definitely come back in the summer 🌺🌸💐🪴🪺☘️🌲🌼
Beautiful garden and VERY large! You could easily spend 2-4 hours here. We really loved this place, but for my husband, kid, and I, it was $48. My brother is local and it was free for him and his kid. $48 felt steep for an hour walk and a teenager that was only there because had to be. Teens should be $6 with a paying adult like the locals later in the day, if not free like the 12 and unders.

Gardens: five Stars
We waited over an hour for 1/2 of a grilled cheese and chips (it arrived stone cold and was inedible for $14) and the egg and ham sandwich (which arrived missing ingredients and since it is order and then get your food brought to you service there was no way to get this fixed since the girl of the ordering counter absolutely did not care at all about doing any sort of job). I did not want the sandwich, but ordered it because they were out of what was actually good on the menu. So be prepared for that as well.
The gardens themselves were wonderful and I desperately wish we had simply skipped the cafe so that we could truly enjoy them instead of having our time eaten into with very bad food that was highly overpriced and ridiculously long awaited.

What a beautiful botanical gardens right in the middle of a charming neighborhood. I think they said it was 76 acres. It was a perfect day to go. Mid-60's and sunny in March. I was surprised how many plants and trees were already in full bloom outside. They also have some great indoor areas. The glass dome was full of gorgeous plants and trees, with waterfalls and flowing water throughout. I loved the Japanese garden areas so much. So beautiful and relaxing. There were little pools with great statues around the grounds. I saw that there was a restaurant with cute outdoor seating, but we didn't eat there. Great store with so many fantastic and unique items/gifts. There were lots of people, but at most times, we didn't feel like it was too crowded. We enjoyed our visit.
