Eduardo always adjusts our session to my specific needs that month. I have chronic low back pain and he is very knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to try and help me. I'd reccomend him to anyone!

Javier was absolutely fantastic. If you would like a healing massage please consider choosing him when booking a your service. He was very attentive to the needs I expressed before my session began. He had great intuition for the the amount of pressure I needed (which was alot) and the areas of my body that needed the most attention. Thank you Javier the HEALER
Cannot recommend Kody enough! I’ve been seeing him for over a year, and it’s always a great experience! Very knowledgeable, meticulous, and has been helping me through some consistent neck/shoulder/back pain.

Amado is the best masseuse out there! His techniques and calm energy are top tier. I especially recommend his services for anyone who works on a computer with neck/shoulder tension - 11/10!!
I've visited Steamwork on multiple occasions, hoping for an exciting experience, but unfortunately, my visits left much to be desired. It seems like the place struggles to attract customers unless it's a special market day or a big event. Even on weekends, the atmosphere is surprisingly slow-paced.
One of the main downsides is the cost. Paying $36 for entry, a membership, and an ID card sets high expectations. Regrettably, I consistently found fewer than 10 people inside. This makes the value for money quite poor.
Perhaps Steamwork could benefit from reevaluating its pricing strategy and working on strategies to draw in more customers during regular days. Until then, I can't help but feel that the experience falls short of expectations.

I've been a customer at Hand & Stone for years and years. I started at South Loop and my massage therapist left. I tried a few other therapists and was going to give up my membership because I couldn't find anyone I liked. Then, I found Kody at Lincoln Park. He is by far the best massage therapist I have had. It's hard to find a therapist who understand what you need and Kody truly can find all the knots and tension and work them out. My body always feels relaxed after I see him and I very highly recommend him!!
Javier was amaze balls! For my first deep tissue massage, I was more than satisfied. He was very attentive and has magic hands. I was so sad when I had to get off the table LOL! I definitely made another appointment for myself and my mom. The spa is beautiful and serene. The staff are kind and professional. I’ve been a few times over the years for hot stone massages (those are great too!), but never thought to leave a review because I’m always in a daze when I leave. 10 out of 10, highly recommend!
Kody (in Lakeview) is hands down the best massage therapist I’ve ever seen. I’ve had a shoulder injury that’s bothered me for 10+ years and I’ve seen a lot of different people for it. It wasn’t until after a few months of seeing him on a regular basis that the pain started to reside. He has the most relaxing massage and the best deep tissue massage. Kody is always booked far out for a reason! If you’ve got chronic pain, or stress, he’s your guy. Side note, I never write reviews for anything, but this man is magical and sent from the gods.
Overall, the services are excellent—every provider I saw did a wonderful job. My one star is due to the fact that I signed up for their membership program and was told it was very easy to cancel (since I asked due to me moving within the next few months). I have called, filled out an online request form and emailed corporate to attempt to obtain the official cancellation form. Nobody has followed up despite being assured that I would receive return calls from the manager of the location. This was over a 3 week period and it’s frustrating as I no longer live in the state and cannot simply walk in to request one. Be wary of this!
Labor Day luxury. The spa at the peninsula was amazing. Only not easy the second bed in the waiting room was broken and did not work. I did the full day lux retreat. Very awesome experience. 👌
I’ve been coming to this location for quite sometime. LaToya is the absolute best! She’s attentive and gentle. She talks through the process to make you feel comfortable. 10/10 recommend going to LaToya especially if it’s your first time!
Lori is fantastic. Always friendly, always fast, always has your best interest in mind whether she recommends certain products or additional service. I look forward to coming every month to see her. I’ve hesitated to give a public review because I don’t need everyone else booking with her too (selfish I know) but she’s that good and everyone should know.
I have been going to European wax centers for awhile and always have a good experience but Jodi was the by far the best waxer I have ever had. I didn't know a Brazilian could be that painless. Already recommended her to all my friends
Love the staff at the Chicago-Streeterville location! The customer service is great and the facility is always really clean. Special shout out to my wax specialist Maya! First booked with her because she was available for the time slot I needed. So glad I did because she is amazing! She has great customer service, she is very polite, gentle, professional, and most importantly she remembers our conversations which makes me feel valued as a customer. Thanks again Maya!

I've been coming to see Tracy for a number of years now and she knows her stuff! She's very knowledgeable and I love picking her brain on all skin related issues. Her custom facials are wonderful and I can't stop touching my face afterwards! I had a gift card and splurged on the Vichy massage a couple years ago and...oh my God....AMAZING! Now I'm hooked! Between the salt scrub and the high pressure water massage...your skin will feel soft as a baby and your body amazingly relaxed....highly recommend!

My daughter and I see Lori at EWC. We’ve never been disappointed with our eyebrows. Always loved the work. Lori even convinced me to try the eyebrow tint and was pleasantly surprised how good it came out and get it done at every visit. Highly recommend Lori!!

I was able to get a fairly last minute 90 minute massage with The Peninsula Spa this past weekend. The facilities are spacious and the views are amazing. Neel was my therapist and she went over and above to make sure that I had a fantastic experience! I would absolutely recommend this spa!!
Alexis is always so great. She is very gentle. I’ve been getting waxed for 15 years and she is the only person who has never hurt me! And we have a good time talking about current events
Visited Chicago steam works last month for Cumunion. Had a blast, literally every hour more and more guys came from all over the USA. Clean facilities, lots of private places to connect. Staff were great and always cleaning/sanitizing. Met awesome people and had a great time. If your in Chicago this is a must!!
I fully understand that the staff at steamworks frequently deal with aggressive, intoxicated, and difficult customers. I’m sure it is draining and they must maintain a zero tolerance for that sort of behavior.
However, the last two nights I have been there, one security guard in particular has been exceptionally aggressive, impatient, and condescending to people in line, even making homophobic comments. These were men who were completely sober, alone, quiet, standing still, etc. Full on shaming people in front of everyone if they couldn’t get there ID card out fast enough, forgot to take something out of their back pocket, insulting comments on dress, as well as name calling if someone wasn’t moving fast enough or misunderstood a direction/request. Publicly humiliating lots of guys who were just confused or hadn’t ever been there before who may have read the rules, but didn’t know the process. I was shocked at how consistently aggressive and threatening this guard was, especially in comparison to how polite the rest of the staff was.
Again, I completely understand that they deal with a constant barrage of difficult customers. I’m sure if I was in that line of work I would have little patience for those patrons breaking rules. However, even the treatment to polite, quiet, sober customers in line was insulting and threatening. Quite honestly there seemed to clearly be some level of revelry in having the power to be able to talk down to or boss around those patrons in line. (Security guard specifically: older 40s-50’s, buzzed head/bald) Regardless of your business model, it should never be appropriate to name call, threaten, or publicly humiliate.
Please Maintain your safety standards and policies for sure, we all want foster a safe environment. But there needs to be a change in your treatment of patrons, especially from this security guard particularly. The most egregious examples of poor treatment/homophobic comments happened when no other staff was around to witness. Something tells me that is intentional on his part…

The primary highlights are their cleanliness and their diverse range of patrons. On market days, I arrived around 7 pm, and the wait was about 15 minutes. However, by the time I left at 10 pm, the line had grown to around two hours, even though the interior wasn't crowded.
I love love this location! Everyone is respectful and genuinely kind! Mia at the front desk is so helpful and she greets me every time I walk in. I usually go to Lori but with her being booked up, I went to Shanira who was amazing! She gave great conversation, made me feel comfortable and was fast!

Maya was amazing! She accommodated me and made me feel comfortable. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant and she made sure I was comfortable at all times and she was very courteous.
I went here in a staff retreat and the service was amazing. The manager made every effort to accommodate 5 of us in short notice including ensuring we jade 5 female massage therapists. We got the Swedish massages which left us feeling rested and rejuvenated. The prices were great especially for an hour massage. Great location in the heart of magnificent mile. Thank you Renee!
My first experience with waxing, and all of the employees made me feel welcomed and comfortable! Walked me through every-step, never made me feel pressured to purchase any extra products (even though I did) because Carli recommended them to me. Carli also was awesome! Made sure I was taking deep breaths in, and made sure I was comfortable with the rest of the process! To say the least, I walked out making sure I was scheduled for my next appointment!
I will have come back and update this to add the technician’s name, but it was the best wax I’ve ever had. Not painful in the least! Took her time and did it right. She did a fabulous job. 10 stars! ✨ ⭐️

I haven’t been to European waxing in a long time, I still had some wax passes left so I decided to use one. Dionne was excellent. She was efficient fast and did a great job. The only reason why I gave a 4 star rating instead of 5 is the price increase. I have been a customer for about 10 years and the price increase in the last 3 years has been way too much. Don’t think I’ll be renewing any wax passes as the prices don’t see reasonable anymore.
What an incredible team! My sister, cousin, and I planned out a spa weekend to Chicago with De La Vie providing massages, facials, and pedicures. We were very impressed by their attention to detail, professional advice, and warm spirits. Highly recommend if you are visiting Chicago and want a memorable experience.

Wonderful customer service, I called to get last minute slots for 3 people, they couldn’t accommodate all three of us, but referred us to another spa for part of our party. Both spas proved to be excellent. 10/10
Carli is my go to girl! She makes every appointment go by quickly & as pain free as possible because of how she incorporates breathing into each pull. Leaving me without a hair insight every time. She’s thorough and kind. The receptionists are great at communicating as well! All around the best wax center I’ve been to.
Zauria did an amazing job. My first time getting a wax so I was a little nervous. However she walked me through the process and she made me feel completely comfortable. Definitely will be coming back.

Diamond was absolutely incredible. I had my first official Brazilian and when I say first official that means I got a botched painful job in the past and was very apprehensive about trying again (at a different business not European Wax). I called initially and spoke with Onika. She was very kind and answered questions. Once I got there with Diamond I let her know I was afraid. She was very reassuring. She was quick and I experienced minimal pain. Good music, vibes, and conversation. Definitely will be back.
Let me start by saying that I am an X pat who does not live in the USA any more so my last visit was around 2019 or might have been earlier. As someone who has an extensive baths experience let me say that from the point of view of "types" this is the best one I have ever been to and that includes the pre Aides golden era, if you like closet cases who love glory h*** service and fringe type who enjoy oral servitude that place is your home. If you are someone who usually is not lucky or has the required look to land a good man here you will always find someone who will stick it through no matter what you look like. This place did OK business in the 90s till they installed a variety of G Hole units "troughs" where groups can stand and worship and on a higher level the tops could stand too with just a narrow board hiding the midriff section of the tops separating them- when this was added they experienced crowds in those rooms that rivaled them legendary early years. I have not been there in a very long time so this is from a few years back. A size queens nirvana.

Sofia is amazing; it's always a great experience - not only is her waxing process smooth and she explains everything, but her personable approach is great if you're a newer client. Highly recommend, and definitely try to ask for Sofia! But... I've gone to other waxers here too, and honestly they're all really great!

Love this location. I have one less than 5 minutes away but I will travel to this one every time. The women at the front desk are always welcoming and nice. I always see Aeja for my waxes. This is one of my favorite spas. Javier is the best masseuse I have ever had! I travel a lot and my muscles are constantly tensed up and I feel so great after his massages. He really pays attention to the areas that need work. Can’t recommend enough!
All the staff is very polite! I got a hour custom massage, focused on my sciatica lower and right leg. It helped me so much the next day! Massage was great! Most likely will come back!
Joanna was awesome! I’ve gotten waxed here a bunch of times and I still get pretty anxious because it always hurts (I have a low pain tolerance), but Joanna made me feel at ease the whole time with light conversation. :)
Dominique did a good job at making me feel comfortable. Not many places take males and I was happy to find someone in the city. We had good conversation and she gave me some good recommendations for products.
I was really excited to book a spa retreat at the Peninsula on a staycation but when I tried to book I was left on hold for over 30 minutes, ended up hanging up and calling the front desk of the hotel where the receptionist was very nice and said she would stay on hold with me until the spa picked up, this time the picked up quickly. Once I was transferred to someone in the spa, I told them what I was looking to book a massage and facial and gave them a specific day which they said had no openings, then I asked for another day and same thing, I gave them the same thing for almost every day over a two week span and they left me in a complete guessing game without ever suggesting any alternative times. It left me confused and wondering if they were even interested in my business, I eventually gave up and said ok, I will call a different spa and they said ok, hung up and I called the Waldorf where they were very accommodating and easy to book.
Zauria was very professional, clean and pay attention to details. It was my first time but she made me feel very comfortable. Trust her she knows what she's doing. I had an awesome experience, I will be going back to see her.
My first wax at the Elston location, and Rachel was fan-freaking-tastic. So friendly and kind. She went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable. She did a wonderful job, and I actually enjoyed getting waxed because the conversation was so funny! I'm definitely going to be booking with Rachel again!

Alex was AMAZING! I was previously going to a different location and the person I was seeing left, so I had to find a new person! I got matched with Alex and he was truly incredible. He works on trigger points which I don't think I've experienced before, and I'm leaving noticeably more relaxed! He communicates really well and makes sure you're comfortable with his pressure and what he's working on. I cannot recommend Alex enough!
Tracey is an exquisite, personable, and detailed orientated esthetician. She has a rad sense of style that caters specifically to each client's self care needs. Not only is the decor trendy but the space is filled with the ambiance of personal holistic healing. Her sheik demeanor enhances one's experience and continuously welcomes them to the "Luminere Family."

I've been going to Tracey for several years now and can still remember the night and day difference the first visit had on the quality of my skin. If you're looking for glowing skin, a soothing massage, and a relaxing appointment, look no further. I have been a client of Tracey's for 7 years and in that time I have given my skin's full care and my perfect trust to her. In her hands my skin has gone from cystic acne with hyperpigmentation at which point I was wearing makeup daily due to low confidence), to glowing skin with minimal tone changes where I only wear makeup if I feel like it. My cabinet is full of only Tracey recommended products and I have come to love learning about my skin, skincare, and looking forward to the weekly facialgrams that keep my 37-year old skin looking like its 27 (no, seriously, people all the time are shocked when I tell them how old I am and they tell me they thought I was ten years younger). Before Tracey I hated seeing my skin in the mirror, and begrudgingly did my skincare. I was even on acne medication. This all stopped after 6 months of going to Tracey and I've never looked back. Besides being a talented skincare specialist, massage therapist, ayurvedic practitioner and more, Tracey is also just a wonderful person. 11/10 would highly recommend Luminere. If you're lucky enough to have the chance to become a client; take it.

For your eyebrows, I can only speak for Carli, since she was the first person I was introduced to, and I would not go to anyone else!! Not only were my eyebrows beautiful afterward, but the whole exchange was so pleasant. She really makes the trip worth it and I look forward to seeing her at my future appointments!

I've been going to Tracey for I don't know how long, now - maybe 10 years, maybe even longer. She's unbelievably affordable but delivers luxury-end service, and I see her regularly. She's also delightful. She's a real pro, knows her stuff. My skin has never looked better. I look younger than I did 5 years ago!

Tiffany was great. I got the 1 hour massage and also tried 30 min rapid tension relief. Amazing results. I love this place.
Beautiful and calming, I recommend De La Vie to anyone looking for a relaxing experience. My most recent treatment was with Emilija, and she took such care to ensure the experience was wonderful. The music was lovely, and I felt great after. I will definitely come back soon.
Lorena aka Lori was absolutely amazing! I have been going to her since September and every time she does a great job. I know a lot of women are afraid of the Brazilian waxing but she does it in a way that is painless and very quick. I’m always in and out within 15 probably less. She’s very attentive and especially when it comes to the eyebrow waxing she is phenomenal and there is no redness or irritating feeling. She takes her time with you and makes sure you are always comfortable. She’s the best ladies! Book that appointment! This location in Lincoln Park is great too!
Latoya was amazing!! She was precise, made me feel safe and comfortable and was quick! She made my service as painless as possible while still giving me the exact look I asked for. Great conversationalist and even better waxer! Can’t wait to rebook with her.
The staff at front was extremely rude and disrespected me and my friend. Then claimed to be uncomfortable and refused us entry because we were to straight acting and appearing. Didn’t even have an actual legitimate excuse. I contacted management but no response…. This place is bias and discriminatory and I would not recommend for the more masculine black crowd especially…. We feel discriminated against and it was my friends first time…. I wouldn’t recommend for anyone. People have died in there from drugs be we made them uncomfortable. Make that sense. I’ve already told everyone I know not to patron there. This is unacceptable and very demeaning to non flamboyant gays. I have looked into actions I can take and I will be taking them. Horrible place horrible service

The time before we started our massages was rough. My daughter and I were each scheduled at 11 for a massage and my mom was scheduled at 10:45. My mom was taken in and then a masseuse came for my daughter. She said that she was going to do her 10:45 facial. The room was set for a facial. My daughter explained she was having a massage at 11. The masseuse said her appointment was for a facial so my daughter went to the front desk to figure out what was going on. Her masseuse berated her for going to the front desk and said she was making her late. Turns out the masseuse was completely wrong but that attitude really effected my daughter’s start to her procedure as well as my own. She was not offered a choice of aromas or the hot towel You go for a massage to relax but the start was far from relaxing. Her name was Pam and she should be instructed on how to deal with patrons. If she can’t change her demeanor she probably should not be in this business. On the other hand, my massage with Veronica was wonderful. She was friendly and did a great job. She inquired how I was doing the whole time. At the start ache asked if there was anywhere I wanted her to concentrate on or if there if was any place that she should avoid. She was helpful picking the aroma and the warm towel under the neck was fantastic.
Scheduled an appointment for waxing and was met by a rude and informal technician, she applied burning wax to my skin, not asking once if I was comfortable or the temperature was bearable, she waxed several leg areas twice, leaving others unwaxed, these unwaxed areas she attended with wax and cloth strips she had already used; in the middle of my full leg wax she removed her gloves and threw them at me, changing gloves for what I imagine would be the remaining 3/4 of my full leg wax. At this point I Immediately rose from the table and left. Expected five star technique and service, fully disappointed. Took my business to Tricoci, which I fully recommend following my next-day full brazilian, full leg and underarm appointments.
My husband and I went here a while back but I just learned how to write reviews lol. This place was so incredible I had to still tell everyone how wonderful the devices are here. No frills or fancy but totally awesome!!
If I could give zero stars I would. My wife used to work for and manage a Hand and Stone. So she is familiar with their policies so when something come up and we weren’t able to make our appointment my wife called trying to cancel our appointments 23 hrs before hand. Proceeded to tell my wife there would be a charge on our card because it was after 24 hr notice. First of all, confirmation calls were done the day prior to the appointments but this location is saying its done three days prior! That is one of the stupidest business policies, do doctors call three days before appointments to make sure you’re coming? No! Besides that, my wife and I NEVER received the confirmation call. The manager (Christine) then proceeded to tell my wife she is WRONG. Customer is always right? Did absolutely nothing to try and calm my wife down and keep her as a customer, the manager just HUNG UP ON HER TWICE!! I WILL NEVER BE GOING TO THIS LOCATION AND I WILL MAKE SURE TO TELL EVERYONE THE SAME. Don’t care if I have to stand outside the doors, DO NOT go to this location if you want a relaxing massage/facial. You’ll leave there feeling worse than when you came in.
Zero Hospitality we got kicked out from that place cause we drink a bit in boystown,to be honest who doesn’t drink on the weekends maybe because we are asian ….that’s my second thought!!! …only because my friend responded late when they called him,the host judge us already…no thanks! Treat us fair!!
Was there yesterday. Lawrence was at the front desk. Very polite and courteous. Couldn't have been nicer. Excellent employee. Place is always super clean. Sometimes crowded. Sometimes not. Depending what part of the day you get there. Overall great experience.
I have nothing but great things to say about De La Vie, specifically Emilija! Having never received a facial, I was hesitant to use the treatment I received as a gift; however, I am so happy that I did! Emilija ensures you are comfortable with everything she does and carefully explains what to expect throughout the treatment. I look forward to my monthly visits and know she will do what is best for my skin. Thank you!!!
I wish I could give a better review but 60 minutes into my 90 minute massage I was told she couldn’t increase pressure as she was “tapped out”. This was after going “light” up until then. Music also stopped 60 minutes in and wasn’t turned back on. My appointment was at 6:45pm on a Friday so perhaps she was tapped out for the day. Disappointed considering I expected more for a $300+ massage.
By far the best salon in the city. Originally followed my manicurist, , but soon was introduced to all the wonderful services they offer. Their amazing staff are both knowledgeable and helpful in customizing the exact services and product that are right for you. My skin has never looked better or been more complimented. A wonderful experience to say the least.

Sometimes when I get facials I feel like the staff does a good job of spreading stuff on my face to clean it and add moisturizer. That's fine, I enjoy it. This is not a default practice at this place. The staff is skilled and knowledgeable about different products and treatment methods. The custom recommendations for me were so on point. My stressed skin shone after my treatment.
First time I have used this spa. It was lovely. The services were fantastic. Anna did my massage and facial. My friend had Renee do their facial. We were both very pleased. We are going back.
Wonderful! Elegant. They even have a swim suit dryer! The products are amazing and smell good too! You can access outside at the pool too!!!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I received a gift certificate for a 30 min massage, 30 min facial, and pedicure! What a wonderful experience. Very clean and relaxing atmosphere and very kind personnel. I really enjoyed my time there and am extremely satisfied with the service. I’ll be going again! :)
I highly recommend Renee Day Spa. I called about 3 weeks ahead of time to schedule a couples massage and manicure for me and my 4 year old. Yes, it sounds totally ridiculous, and perhaps it was, but my daughter and I had the most amazing experience. The massage was amazing, and I have had hundreds of massages. They probably thought we were crazy when we walked in, but we were treated professionally and the services were top notch. They ask for your credit card when you book, which was perfectly acceptable. I will definitely be back
Easy 0/5 stars rating. Fiancé and her sister arrived yesterday and the spa was completely different from advertised. As you can see in the pictures provided the floor is dirty, sheets are dingy and the overall quality of the rooms was very poor. There are cameras that completely go against any type of ethical values of privacy and the pictures on the website and google are completely false advertisement. After mentioning to the owner that they were uncomfortable with the room and didn’t want to continue with the massage, the owner denied them a full refund. Due to urgent travel necessities we had to leave with not even full credit on a company gift card. The full amount for the couples massage, $230 was taken and never returned. The owner was exceptionally rude and uncooperative and overall a terrible first experience with this spa. If you expect your money to be taken regardless of receiving your service or not I guess you can give them a try otherwise I would highly recommend you avoiding this spa.
