Tried to walk in for the flu vaccine at 1:10pm. I was nice and let an older lady go before me to pick up her prescription. When it was my turn they turned me away saying I need to come back at 2pm so they can take lunch at 130... this was at 1:15. Noone else was there inline.... They had 15 minutes to process me with noone in front or behind me. They do not put the patient first here.
There are tons of other duane reade and cvs's in the area, go to a different one. I would understand if it was 1:25 or even after 1:20... but 15 minutes time to be processed is unnacceptable, especially after she saw me give up my spot in line to an older person. She was also rude and had an attitude. I possibly would not have been as upset about the time issue if she was polite... but 15 minutes, noone else was there and the rudeness... go somewhere else.

Prices are great for NY and I can go in grab something and leave with no hassles. It’s kinda creepy how it just knows what you walk out with, but it sure makes it easy to get in and out of there.

I've been shopping at Food Universe for almost seven years (since summer 2016), and it has usually been a reliable place to buy basic groceries. About a year ago, the store underwent a gradual--but extensive--makeover which has made the shopping experience more pleasant, even though product selection has remained much the same. BUT...
...my biggest concern with the store--and the main reason shoppers should be wary of shopping here--is that the management *routinely* advertises false prices for goods or does not label prices at all. It is extremely common to see the price advertised as one thing (even with a recent price label, such as for sale items) and then to see the prices $1-2 higher for that item at checkout. Recent examples just from my last shopping trip (see attached photos): a jar of tomato sauce (advertised price: $6.99; actual price: $7.99), avocados (advertised price: $0.99 each; actual price: $2 each), chia seeds (advertised price: $7.99; actual price: $9.29). Importantly, these discrepancies have nothing to do with the shopper's club discount, which everyone seems to get regardless of having signed up. Everyone has noticed increases in grocery prices over the last few years as a result of ongoing inflation. But the situation at Food Universe is not about inflation. This is about mis-advertising prices in a highly unethical way that possibly violates NYC consumer protection laws as well. Twice, I have approached staff about these discrepancies, and have gotten just a shrug.
If you are interested in a better shopping experience in the broader Hamilton Heights area, I would recommend the Super Food Town at 161st Street, which is bigger, better, and cheaper. Honestly, even the Key Foods at 146th Street is at least as good as Food Universe in terms of product quality, and is definitely cheaper.

On September 5th 2023 I went to this supermarket on 138th and broadway and used my ebt card data was stolen to rob me of $100 in food stamps!!!! It has to be a employee that works there skimming device they take your card number and password and rob your food stamps!!! Don't use no cards at this supermarket!!!!
Hey be careful I was there on 9/12/2023 got a couple of things for my mom with the snap benefits and left and come to notice there was $209 stolen I went to the second cashier be careful check your cards before and after your purchase (You say you have that but your supermarket was the only place I used it that day and There’s a few people I know that’s including my aunt that got their snap stolen and they went to this supermarket as well so it’s not 1 person it’s a few and different days I see someone said they went the 5th I went the 12 and there’s is a few people went different days
I’ve been here multiple times on the way to work in the morning and no one answers the bell or comes to do amazon returns. It’s really unprofessional, and if I do wait 10-15 minutes someone comes out from the back so they were there the whole time. I usually have to come back after work after wasting my time to begin with.
Gopuff is great a lot of these people leave a bad review because it's black people working there and White people don't like them down there nothing new !!!!!

If I could give no stars, I would. The place is dirty and there are workers sleeping inside. Some with no shoes on and dirty feet. And there are workers sitting outside drinking. Terrible. How do they do business?
technology is so crazy! this place is great if you want to very quickly get a snack. but just be warned the selection is roughly the same as a gas station. I was hoping it would have some toiletries but it only carries snacks, some packaged food, and boxed food. be warned if you need customer help or to return an item, there is not usually any workers here, so this is not the place for returns. but it’s great as a super quick snack or bite !
If you’re a tourist in NYC with a tight budget: this deli is a healthy and affordable option to have lunch. Good quality food and service. They have several options.
The lasagna was very tasty and fresh, the grilled salmon was great and the greens are greens.

I had to wait 10 minutes just for a store associate to show up. It was 2 p.m. in the afternoon on Monday, July 10th and when an associate finally did show up, she was not helpful. She was disinterested in her job as she refused to help me when I had difficulty accessing the return code on my phone for a product I wanted to send back. This store needs to be staffed during the hours it says it's open and staff who are better trained in customer service who actually care about customers. The girl pictured here needs better training in helping out customers and if she has an I-don't-care attitude, she shouldn't be serving the public.
Tried to drop off a return and this is what I see. I waited and waited no one showed up! Amazon drop off used to be easy here but now it’s not staffed well.
Consistently tasty and fresh hot bar. Food is overpriced but I’d say worth it for the quality. Staff doesn’t talk much but everyone seems nice. Sandwich window usually has a line during lunch hours but staff is very fast
This place is huge! A big supply of everything. The help is very friendly and goes all the way out to help you with any questions. I used to shop at C-Town for more than 20 years and just a couple of months ago I decided to try this supermarket, I fell in love with the service, but most of all, the prices are lower than C-Town! I will never go back to C-Town, I will stay with this supermarket for as long as I live!!!
Yesterday I went here to purchase a cup of coffee and pass time until my class started. The tables were dirty and the floor wasn’t properly swept. I received a phone call and got up to walk outside, when I looked down and saw a large cockroach (water bug) coming toward me. I yelled and threw the coffee away. This place needs an exterminator and a deep cleaning.
Attracts Crime and there are crazy arguments and people threatening each other and smoking weed and just causing a ruckus in our neighborhood.
Probably the worst coffee I've ever tasted from a deli in the city, tasted like sewer water was used to brew the coffee. Edit for owner reply: some people work late and get home late, if a customer is saying your coffee tastes funny or terrible, you should try a cup to taste for yourself, thank you for the offer of free sandwich but I will politely decline the offer.

I come here a lot because I live nearby. Today I went in to get an açaí bow. It costed me 13 dollars; however, it was only 1/4 filled up with the açaí. Beyond upset that the girl making this even thought this was okay to give me. I paid 13 dollars for a açaí BOWL. Not a bite. Never coming back here again.

Two times in a row they mark the order as delivered. Nothing there. Then 30 - 50 a call center calls me to ask me if I want the order and that the driver is coming soon. Unbelievable. Nothing gets through to them when you talk to the call center. They don't understand, never admit they did anything wrong. Absurd service.

I recently ordered from GoPuff through Grubhub and I have to say, it was a complete disaster. My order was over an hour late and when I finally received it, I discovered that some items were missing. Upon contacting customer service, I was told that they couldn't do anything to rectify the situation and I was left feeling completely frustrated and disappointed.
To make matters worse, I later discovered that some delivery drivers have been known to steal items from customers' orders. This is completely unacceptable and it speaks to the lack of professionalism and ethics within this establishment.
In addition to the terrible delivery service and potential theft, I also found that the overall experience with GoPuff was lacking. The ordering process was confusing and it was difficult to navigate the website. The customer service was unhelpful and unresponsive, which left me feeling like my concerns were not being taken seriously.
Based on my experience, I would strongly advise anyone against ordering from GoPuff through Grubhub or Seamless. There are plenty of other options out there for delivery services that are reliable, professional, and trustworthy. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment and choose a different establishment.

One of the best Bodega to Visit in NY. The owner is very kind and helpful. The ingredients they use are fresh and organic. A perfect stop for mid-day cravings and quick shopping.

The selection is good...bit pricey . There's some dips in the floors. There's a back section that is strewn abt with boxes. Also the staff there is very patronizing and too jokey. Every time I leave there I feel like they are either laughing or making fun of each customer. I'm going to stick with 7-11.
$66 order never delivered after nearly two hours. Called Gopuff and got some guy in a foreign call center who kept promising me it was ‘still coming’ even though the app showed that they were closed and not taking orders anymore for the day. Had to make a second call and go through the app’s customer service to get a refund because the Gopuff guy said he couldn’t help me except to tell me to keep waiting for the food to magically show up. He said because I ordered fresh food aka chicken wings, along with some regular grocery items, this is why it was taking so long. As if two hours was a normal timeframe to be at and still not have it delivered.
Ya know who it be K man up pepper spray em this a solid 3 because they don’t hire there drivers they come from a 3rd party so you just gotta handle them driver on your own 🫣😂
Good spot to grab a quick meal during lunch break. They have a salad bar and a hot food bar with some staples and some different options every day, including vegan and vegetarian options. There’s a wide selection of nonalcoholic drinks in the shopping area, from juice and kombucha to soda and flavored water. Prices are comparable to others in the area.

Poor staffing, crowded aisles, consistently re-stocking during high traffic times, and seemingly sponsored by Boarshead (only option in many cheeses)... the list goes. But such is shopping in Harlem. They seem to know it's the only option in the area. Food Universe: where else ya gonna go?

I absolutely love the hospitality and amazing food the sandwhiches are amazing and they are always willing to make anything you like. I love Soho Deli never had any issues !!❤️❤️❤️
I go to the deli EVERYDAY! The guys are so polite. The food is affordable and the chef Thomas is the best!!!! If you are in the area, definitely stop by for good and cheap eats! You will thank me later😊

I have tried three times to order or purchase items here and they never have basics. No i dont need a $6 pizza delivered to me for $15 in delivery fees. This is warehouse and should mot be allowed in residential neighborhood.
Soho Deli Grocery is my "Go-To" neighborhood grocery. Always stocked with necessary items and my favorite goodies. The deli offers an array of freshly-prepared, specialty foods and sandwiches made to order. Beyond that, the fellows (Alex, Sunny, Luv and Thomas) treat me like one of the family. 😁😃😊
DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET CATCALLED AND HARASSED BY THEIR WORKERS. Don't go unless you like getting harassed and catcalled by their disgusting delivery drivers and stock employees. It is disgusting walking past this location every day and constantly getting catcalled by male employees WHO ARE ON THE JOB. Sitting on their delivery bikes or literally walking out of the outside entrance of their stock room. These men are getting paid to make women feel uncomfortable constantly and it is disgusting. This has happened several times by different workers. How is this okay to allow your employees to act like this on the job??? It is absolutely vile.

The Krispy Kreme donuts are delicious, as well as the bagels and fresh cream cheese. They also have these amazing cookies that are kinda pricey but so worth it. I love the sugar cookie the best but the raisin oatmeal is good too. The fountain soda is a great price as well and they have many other breakfast and lunch options as well.

THIS IS THE BEST CAFE IN NEW YORK! This coffee shop is beautifully built and creatively constructed.
I gave them a 4 star but I really like the convenience of this place to my office. The food is typically great and tasty. I usually get a kale salad and salmon and every so often grilled chicken. I indulge in the fresh fruits and try to keep my selections to the greener food selection. I have to be honest and indicate that after eating the chicken today I had a very upset stomach. This is the third time this has happened. I came a little after 12 pm today to ensure I got the fresher selections so I’m not sure why. Otherwise I won’t dissuade anyone from purchasing. Customer service is also always on point and the staff including the chef is always engaged and pleasant with customers.
We stayed at a hotel about 2 minutes away, so we used this Walgreens all week. The staff was helpful and nice. Beer situation could have been better. A lot of empty spots.
They will not deliver your order and will also not give you a refund. Do not trust.

It’s 1:18 am on a Thursday morning; the automatic system has confirmed that the store is open until 2 am M-F and has me on hold, promising that someone will be with me shortly, but the doors are locked and it doesn’t seem anyone is inside. There are no hours posted on the door, but according to Google Maps, Duane Reade is open 6 am to 2 am M-F, and the business confirmed these hours two weeks ago. Such a waste of people’s time. Just post whatever hours the store will actually be open, and then stick to those.

I bought a bag of wise chips and they weren't fresh. It smelled and tasted like chemicals. It saddens me to think that a child may have consumed a similar bag. Manufacturer prices are also often changed here and replaced with a price tag that costs more. They don't give change less than 5 cents unless you ask. These people are very money hungry and do not serve the community at all like the original owners used to. Everything is either overpriced or the prices change based on the person at the register.
The market it self is super cute with a nice selection of healthy food. However, the 2 ladies working the smoothie/coffee bar were horrible and very rude. They obviously did not appreciate me placing an order and inconveniencing them, making them do their job and work. I remained very nice and polite. Hopefully, whatever is making them so miserable in their job resolves with time. I probably wouldn’t return to this market as the glaring stares and radiating hate just isn’t worth it. I ultimately bought a salad. I would be remiss to mention that it had a dead fly in it. It happens but I couldn’t eat after that.
I’ve ordered grocery deliveries from them and they have been great! But the highlight is their brown sugar latte with oatly. It’s the best tasting coffee I’ve ever had!!! I feel like I cannot go back!

NYC native, here …. This is the bodega of all bodegas. You name it, they got it and if they don’t have it, they will get it for you. The staff is beyond friendly, which is such a breath of fresh air for NYC bodegas. Make this your go to, I have.

Your Gopuff driver app sucks. When get notification and press available screen turn grey. Hours don’t pop up at all and when when dropping every Thursday app move slow and the shift you pick up are just rotating and not being pick up. Several drivers complained about this too and nothing have been done. What was the point of the recent update? Cause it even more worst then before.
Workers are so friendly and helpful. I left my plant there once and the worker kept it safe for me and kept it in the window light. Always feel welcomed here

I ordered the Mason Dixon sandwiched because it looked amazing. Piping hot, fried chicken thighs straight from the fryer? Nope. I got some sad looking breaded cutlets that looked like they had come from the bodega next door. And def not on fresh potato rolls. Very, very subpar
Bad management. They dont even have chest rub on stock. also, they randomly close snd change their opening hours all the time. Very unreliable. You never know if it is closed or open when u show up. Store will probably go out of business soon.
Amazon Go rethinks the notion of the convenience store in a number of ways beyond the digital checkout concept. They seem to stock the right mix of "quick grab" items without wasting shelf space on lower turnover stuff. In addition to the usual packaged snack and drink options, the Go stores I've visited have a range of prepared items such as sandwiches, cheeses, yogurts, etc. Always a good and convenient experience. This is actually the store at 53rd and Lexington.
Had to purchase a bunch of gift cards for work. Cashier was really nice and explained she had to call management to be sure the cards were all real. Management took excessively long to come to the register, which would have been OK but then chided the nice cashier for the long line that had formed, was unpleasant during the process, and did not respond when I thanked her. Cashier stayed in a good mood the whole time. The manager made the experience much more difficult than it had to be.
The customer service here was amazing during my experience. I was in distress! Something flew into my eye after walking through the park and I needed to rinse my eye out because it wouldn't open. My whole eye turn blood shot red and swelled up. They allowed let me use the bathroom even though it wasnt open to the public. Afterwards, I bought sanitizing eye drops, chips, and water to show my appreciation. Thank you very much for being able to know when someone needs help and that the rules didn't apply in this situation.
I guess since i came in with bottles then they must have thought i was a homeless bum but little did they know i am not. Highly educated woman and i am pregnant. The machine was broken. They told me to wait a second waited for 15 minutes then i asked for the manager. Took 20 minutes before a young man came out there and counted my bottles. The manager never showed his or her face. The unprofessionalism is ridiculous. Ill never go back ever
The meal platters are based off of the weight of your food. It's a clean spot and a calm environment. Perfect for a casual lunch by yourself or with a companion or two.

I walked in and ask at counter if they have a passport photo service and the guy looked at me, roll his eyes looked down for nearly 30 sec and said Yes. He pointed me where to go and I was wait for him. He came in two minutes with a camera in his hands and ask in a very unprofessional way to take off my sweater which was the only thing I had on me... I felt something,, a feeling of being treat very bad and told him: I change my mind, am not gonna have that photo today.... and walk away... It was today november 19, 2018.... at 1pm! Shame shame shame...
You’ve got everything you could ever hope for in his place... tacos, stir fry, sushi, burgers, a salad bar, soups, ramen.. a buffet style bar.. I mean you name it they’ve got it. Sure it gets very crowded around lunch time but that’s to be expected at a place like this and the lines move very quickly. Never have more than a 10 minute wait. The prices are on the higher side of things but I don’t mind too much since everything is fresh and often prepared right in front of you. Plenty of space of dine inside or outside if you please. The place is well lit and clean and staff is friendly and helpful. Probably my number one go to lunch spot. Thanks Open Market... see you soon!
There are many choices here. Doubt anyone would go in and not find something that they like. I had the Texas burger and OMG! (not for weak stomach though). It was as big as you can expect for something with the word "Texas" in it.
This Duane Reade is open 24 hours and is usually well stocked. Despite being located right at a subway exit (28th Street, 6 line), it is not very busy and the line never exceeds more than a 5 minute wait. The staff are knowledgeable, courteous and usually quick with their work.
after more that 10 years with the company and follow them to this location ( I was at 86 location that was close ) I had to stop going for my prescription after for the 2nd time the same person working then scream all my medicines for me to approve or not the refill. she was so rude the manager need to end up helping me . even that she interrupted me and the manager several time until I ask her to stop doing it ! -- so embarrassed people were looking at me ! avoid them next door is CVS
Since undergoing management changes and renovations, the service here has dramatically improved. While the clean and organized appearance makes it much more appealing, the courteous employees and management, as well as a wider variety of foods, make me enjoy shopping here. The installation of self checkout changed the game. Lines move smoothly and you can be in and out fairly quickly. I love the selection of gourmet and international foods and unlike before, most everything is fresh!
The one thing I don't like is how a particular manager watches like a hawk when I use self checkout, especially since I'm a regular customer. He's a little older, so I chalked it up to age and doing his job to deter stealing, but no customer should feel surveilled. I'd like to think that it's not because I'm black, but I haven't seen him do it to white customers.
My favorite spot is the deli. The young guys who work the counter always greet me with pleasant words and a smile and they are skilled in slicing the meat to your liking. The older gurs who fill in occasionally, are kind, but their cuts aren't even.
I'm really happy with the improvement of this store and hope that they continue to listen to their customers for even more growth and longevity.

Since everyone only posts about bad experiences, I want to share an amazing experience. I visited the pharmacy today on my half hour lunch break. The employees were extremely courteous, and went out of their way to help me. I had just spoken to my care provider about switching to the pharmacy. Even though my prescription had not been called in yet, they did everything in their power to help me. The Pharmacist (Tiffany Lam) even offered to call my doctor for me as they hadn't received the prescription. She set up a text notification for me so I would know when the prescription came in to them in case I had to go back to work. When it did come in a couple of minutes later, she took me straight to a register only to find I had left all forms of payment across the street. She was not upset, and was gracious enough to let me come right back to the register when I got payment. I have had nothing but good experiences at this Duane Reade. 5 STARS!
Great small convient shop with a vast selection of beers sold in singles or packs and in various sizes. Friendly shop owner. Reasonable prices for hard-to-find beers!
