Safe, interactive and professional complex for ice sports! Delicious wings, too :)

Great spot for the Vancouver Hong Kong Fair. The food stalls line ups were a bit too long for me but didn't deter from the overall atmosphere and success of the event. Hope to see more cultural events in the foreseeable future

🛼 Glide & Groove at The Shipyards Skate Plaza 🌆
🌄 Visited The Shipyards Skate Plaza in North Vancouver early one morning and, wow, what a spot! Although it wasn't open yet, the view alone was worth the visit. Set against the stunning backdrop of downtown Vancouver and the North Shore mountains, it's a scene you don't want to miss.
🛹 Can't wait to return and hit the ice with the kids! This place is not just about skating; it's about the experience, with music and lights adding to the ambiance. Plus, the plaza offers various little features for an extra fun skating experience.
🍔 And when it's time for a break, you're right there amidst the buzz of The Shipyards, with plenty of dining options to refuel. Next time, we're planning to make a day of it, skating and exploring everything this vibrant area has to offer!

Not many places in town where you can outdoor skate. Part of The Shipyards converts into a mini skate plaza during the winter. $7.00 skate rentals for adults, but they’re not great.
Fun but way too packed with kids and the island areas get clogged. Wouldn’t come on a weekend, weekday is the way to go.

Our favorite local mountain! You can enjoy it year-round, but my favorite season is winter. There are a lot of activities including skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing. We can see Vancouver city and burrard inlet when it's sunny, and you might catch a glimpse of the sea of clouds. The staff is super nice.

We visited Grouse mountain around Christmas 2023. The gondola was packaged to capacity, but well worth the views and the scenic ascent up the mountain with picturesque views all the way round.

The Ice Skating Rink is located at The Shipyards in Lonsdale Quay. You can bring your own skates and skate for free. Or rent for $7/adult and $5/kids. This is an outdoor skating rink with a lot of establishments around it. We love going to this place!

I find it odd that there isn't a front reception, but the staff are lovely and I find it great that there are so many rinks!

Beautiful little mountain with a ton of different activities like skating and skiing snowboarding walking trails and zip lining. Definitely worth looking and booking online as there was quite a line up for passes when we went on a Friday and Saturday. The lift up the mountain is super quick and very beautiful views once you get to the top! Wear warm clothes and good boots as there is a lot of snow if you are doing the walking trails. They have it very well maintained and safe. Lots of kids and all ages.

I first came to skate here last year and loved it. We love it even more, especially after our quick visit to the Robson ice skating rink just now. Compared to that, this place is definitely nicer and bigger. There are plenty of restaurants nearby to go dining and the views towards downtown Vancouver is gorgeous.
Please keep in mind that they close the skate from 5:30pm - 6pm to zamboni the rink.
When I was there around 6:30pm today (hollidays), they ran out of the rentals.

Good place to spend the day watching hockey! I like that it has a second floor view of the 3 ice rinks without having to be next to it if you don't want to be cold. Yesterday was a busy day for them and the cons I found was the chair availability per table since we needed to go around looking for empty chairs to move to our table, plus the delay on our food order due to the amount of orders they were taking. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

This place is really good during Christmas as they put up lighting and food for ice skaters(pro). As we went in a group and the family ticket was $119(limited offer) for 2 kids 2 adults we took that. We also have an ice skating rink for beginners and children. It would cost 10$ for skate rentals. Overall it's a good experience for the first timers and visit during snow time.

Wonderful experience. Originally, I expect that I will just view the whole city with little snow. By the end, I can walk through the whole trial covered with wide range of snow. My spouse and I enjoyed the whole afternoon. In the late evening, after the Christmas light has switched, the view is really amazing.

A great place to have a fun time with friends and family!, if you don’t have ice skates you can rent it there in 7 cad, if you have yours you don’t need to pay anything extra, they don’t charge you any adicional cost for skating, they have great music and vibe!, i thinks its a great activity and not expensive at all!, the staff was really friendly!

This was at least my sixth time here, I love grouse mountain any time of year and recommend it to anyone. It’s not cheap, but you’re taking a gondola to a ski resort right next to the city with insane views when the visibility is good, what else would you expect?
Taking the Grouse Grind up in the summer is especially fun since you’re almost always rewarded with an epic view, but note you’ll have to pay a small amount to download.
The skiing doesn’t have the best conditions usually, and there are lots of Jerries (people who aren’t beginners who still don’t know what they’re doing), but the vibes are great and the views are epic when it’s clear out.

There's no better way to view Vancouver and the Pacific Northwest. Everywhere you look is gorgeous.
Gondola up and then chairlift to the peak. Busy summer day but still not crowded.
In terms of for money... well, it's a million dollar view. Definitely a must visit spot. Worth it for a few hours at the top. If you are a BC resident, let them know when you're buying your tickets and you'll receive a not insignificant discount.

First things first, gondola tickets are a LOT (75$ per person) but you get the best views of Vancouver, a pretty nice 45-minute Lumberjack show, two bears that live in a very large area, a bird show and beautiful wood carvings. The restaurants are decent but a little bit expensive.
If you have the courage and physical fit, I'd take the stairs up, but that is a long walk in itself.

Certainly not the cheapest activity in the Vancouver area, but it really is worth it. The gondola ticket gets you to the top of the mountain and then there are a number of excellent activities included in the ticket price, including birds of prey, a lumberjack show, ranger talks, an opportunity to see two rescued grizzly bears, and a 4-man chairlift to the summit for even more stunning views. We took a picnic up to the summit to avoid the wait (and, probably, cost) of buying food on the mountain. That said, there are a number of different places to grab lunch should you want to, as well as an ice cream stand, coffee bar, BeaverTails, etc..
Half a day is barely enough to see it all properly, and it could easily be a full day out. Note that, at peak times, you may need to wait to get both up and down the mountain on the gondola - we waited around an hour to get back down (from 16:00-17:00).
Overall, well worth a visit.

Very nice and fun for the whole family. You'll need a whole day to explore everything comfortably. They have a lot of informative, and funny shows. There's places to hike at as well.
One downside is that their food is overpriced. Overall a fun experience

We went during the summer and it was a great little tourist attraction with grizzly bears - Grinder & Coola - a Lumberjack show, Indigenous music, and wild birds of prey.
Recommend planning to spend at least a few hours here. The longest queue was taking the gondola down the mountain so plan on leaving taking a little longer then you would expect.
Got lucky and saw a beautiful Raven in the parking lot too.
There is a shuttle that takes you from Canada Place to Grouse Mountain that runs about every 30-45 minutes. If you are staying around downtown, use the shuttle to your advantage.

Excellent place to visit. Close to Vancouver city. Good parking. All day admission with most of the activities included except zip line is a great deal. We enjoy the Tram up to mountain, lumber jack show, cable chair ride, bird show, bear habitat and various talk. Great learning experience for children. Breathtaking views from the mountain and simply very beautiful, relaxing and peaceful. All day activity. Take water bottle, some snacks, hat, sun screen and enjoy. Restaurant is available on the top of the mountain which is a great option to but a little pricy as expected.

The gondola trip up and down is very pleasant
The person at the helmet provided great information
The walk around nature and the four legged residents are a real treat. The humans manning the place at all stations are very nice. We had a drink watching the sunset. The whole experience was extremely gratifying. Thank you!

Took my relatives here and it is a nice opportunity to see the changes it has made since the last time I went. The gondola was crowded and people are looking for good window views. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. You gets views of urban and wildlife - it’s Vancouver after all which is nice. They have nice beach seats and picnic tables in most areas.
BRING BUG SPRAY - lots of mosquitoes during the summer and regretted not being prepared for that.

Highly recommend spending the day at Grouse Mountain. Make sure to watch one of the lumberjack shows.... it was a world class production and very well executed. Also take the complimentary ski lift up to the very, very top! Beautiful views! If you get hungry have a beaver tail, I recommend the classic. Great place!

Just wanted to know what time public skate is..couldn't find it on the website without creating an account, chat bot couldn't answer the question either, and when I called no one answered and it went to a full machine so I couldn't leave msg. Not a great system over all.

Pros
Fries hot
Clean location
Cons
Ordered honey garlic wings with seasoned fries. Wings tasted like Frank's red hot mixed with honey garlic. Told the bar staff. Didn't do anything.
Didn't take photo. Looked like honey garlic. Kitchen staff was blonde guy with a red hat.

It's a splash park in summer. The kids will have lots of fun there.
When the kids have fun in the splash park, the parents can sit on the chairs watching their kids.
The people also use it as a family gathering place. They bring their own food or buy form this area for a party.
There are a coffee shop and an ice-cream shop while next to the plaza.
Best place to bring your family and friends.
It becomes a winter wonderland for kids love skating. Bring your kids there enjoying the free skating. There are also a supply shop for renting skates.
The first time that we see a few heater setup with chairs around this area. Good for parents that they are not a skaters. But they can keep warm while they are watching the kids.

Great place to enjoy skating with family. It can get really busy on weekends with many children. You can rent skates at the supply shop. There are also plenty of benches to sit on. There are several restaurants/cafes around to buy food and drinks. Overall fun!

I registered for Play to Learn but was told my group was combined with Play to Develop participants; I found the drills too challenging as I'm just learning to play hockey. It would have been helpful if a note was made on the registration page so one is fully aware of what they're signing up for. As for the lessons, instructors were nonetheless friendly, encouraging, and were willing to adapt the exercises based on skill levels.

I really don't like this place.
Miscommunication between staffs were awful.
At first day of lesson, we were 2 minutes late due to horrible traffic jam to get there(We were caught in the car for 30 min). And suddenly encountered ridiculous Mobile Health Check Request. To do that, My kid lost 11 minutes more. They never let my daughter came in first. Lesson time is only 30 minutes, we could attend only for 17 minutes.
We go Delbrook Recreation Center, West Vancouver Community Center, Harry Jeromme Recreation Center, but any of them has no such thing like Mobile Health Check Request which has to be done every time we go. And when I said I've never heard this process when I enrolled, an old lady said they have sent an email just a day before that day with grumpy voice, so I checked my email account and even spam folder but there was no such an email. And one staff told us to go to changing room 8, and another staff told us to go to changing room 5. They were really confused themselves.
The second day we went, when I wanted to come in again to pick up my kid, a young woman said I could wait at the side gate instead of letting me in. Of course my kid didn't know where to go, so she was searching for me everywhere with her skates on. I wondered, every other parents came out of there with there kids, why did she ask me to wait at the side door?only to me?
On the third day, I waited my daughter at the side gate like she said a week ago, this time I told my daughter where to meet me. But she was scolded by an old woman like, 'Where's your mom?Did you come in to the arena with your skates on?You can't go outside with your skates on'. I told the woman, a young woman told me to wait here, but she said that's because I was in the wrong line,so she could have thought my kid is in the other class. No! That's was not my fault! I was in the right line which is for North Van Rec Center! They could make mistakes, but they never admit it.
On fourth day when it's time for pickup, a man said I could wait in the hallway because it was still 4 minutes left. So I was in the hallway, he even followed me and made sure I was in the right place, but right after then a woman came to me talking, 'You can't be here. You should be in the changing room' I told her a man told me to wait in the hallway, but she repeated the same thing.
And today, I saw a family was waiting in the hallway, but no staff told them they couldn't be there. What????
I don't know gathering in a small changing room is better than waiting in the hallway.
Everybody here says different thing whenever I go there.
I would never let my daughter take lesson which takes place at this place.

Chairs are uncomfortable to watch a whole game in, needs more padding for sure. The food is alright, some items taste very frozen. They serve beer and wine which is great, and the staff is very nice.
