Beautiful and very important Catholic Church in the heart of Midtown Manhattan! It is the heart of Midtown! A one if a kind refuge of prayer and liturgy worship, where one can go and find the love and word of God! Thank you!

It was very cold there. They had no heat. Was very disappointed for the money spent there.
My wife and I attend weekly at the church. Me for the past five years and my now wife for the past year. We recently were married here, and things couldn't have been more spectacular.
Simple amazed by this 150+ year church in the middle of Manhattan. The Latin Mass was truly special.
The whole experience was transforming. The church is beautiful. Although I do not understand Latin, however, the presence of the Lord was felt.
The act of going up for communion and kneeling and waiting to receive while looking up at the mural by the altar was elevating,transforming, and spiritually fulfilling.
Attended adoration and prayers to the Holy Face of Jesus after mass, and understanding the language and participating sealed the day.

Beautiful church with a nice shrine. The priests are very nice and they are always available for confessions.
Stopped by today to say prayer..light candle..Church was noisy as Christening seemed to be starting..next thing elderly gent start waving hands furiously..down middle of aisle he comes..says u have to leave..I inquired why..he says u have a coffee..I said I do..but u can see its sealed..He got in huff..so he stands next to me while I saying a decade of Rosary..which tough with all noise..upon finishing my prayers I got up to light a
candle..big notice up..$2..normally I would
offer $5..the elderly gent..George is again behind my back..I light my candle..say my prayer..in meantime notice couple come up light candle and walk off..no donation..so I liging ht my candle..after donating $2..say my prayer..turn and leave..George the minder watching every move..as I leave I tell George..for the record..I was saying a prayer to mo my brother..he committed suicide..in part due to serial abuse by member of clergy..
I have been in many many churches around globe..never saw the likes of George's antics..no wonder the Catholic Church is losing follower s..Good man George..keep up great work..maybe next time you could ask gathered crowd to keep tone little lower..hard to find solace with so much noise..once I stepped back onto street it was so much quieter

I used to like coming here a few years ago but the people they have working as staff have always been uptight and rude. I happen to walk in for a quick prayer after 5pm Saturday. Mind you I didn’t see any opening/closing times posted other than Mass times. The man tells me “I’m closing, you need to go” in the most uncharitable and borderline angry tone as if I were doing it as a prank or on purpose. I have received much nicer attitudes from people working in stores when accidentally walking in about closing time. The good thing is there are other parishes in the area where staff is kinder and aware they’re located in the center of Midtown Manhattan. Not returning to this church again.

Really spectacular looking church was there for a wedding
I truly enjoyed the beauty of this Church. I went to Mass upon returning home from a trip. I do not live in the area. Mass was beautiful; the music and service was a wonderful. It was a delight to hear many parts the service shared in both English and Latin. The homily was well done; emphasizing key points in all 3 readings and inspirational applications we all could apply to our lives.

Decades ago, I worked in the garment industry. Monday to Friday lunch I would go to this church. I did my First Nine Fridays for nine months. Devotion of Reparation to The Sacred Heart of our Lord. A Monsignor blessed my Blessed Mother's Miraculous Medal which is around my neck. When he retired, I sent a card to him, and he wrote back. I have it in my memory box. Years later I did the Blessed Mother. First Saturday for five months.
This is a beautiful church. I've been to mass a few times and the parishioners are very welcoming.
Catholic Underground event now host one a month as a franciscan friars of the renewal. The architecture itself of the building is very beautiful. The service at 7:30PM on Saturday was great and interesting. There is a part they turn off the light accept the state and sing blessing songs. It was super attractive and mysteries. At that night, the church was packed with tons of people especially the young people. After service we went downstairs to enjoy socializing and Jazz music.
My mother's family grew up on 115th St and went to this beautiful church. I remember it, and the feasts from my childhood.
Wanted to drop by this morning on the way to the Met. Arrived about 11am. Completely shut. Tried all the doors and rang the buzzers. No joy. Tried the phone. No reply. Very disappointed. Especially as made a detour in the pouring rain.
Liked it before very recent when they started counting the number of people during the mass time ….. it is about faith and church or about money making business ?? Start questioning again about coming here and definitely would not donate even a dollar ever again !!!
One of my favorite churches in NYC. Great Jesuit mass, and a big, beautiful church. A must on Sunday in NYC.
The Cathedral is beautiful with the stained glass windows and the pictures so well depicted. The craftsmanship in the ceiling and on the columns is stunning. All created before laser design and cranes. Enter the sanctuary with appreciation to the caretakers and legacy donors. Would have loved to hear the pipes of the organ! The entrance is free but donations are greatly appreciated.
Aww they had a great summer picnic !! Food was awesome, kids games were well organized and hilarious & the music was pumping! Made me possibly like to go church again. I said possibly!

Breathtakingly beautiful architecture. There was a service going on when we visited, but we were still allowed to come in and walk around to see the different worship areas. Gift shop is very small, but has some great stuff such as jewelry, many different types of rosary beads and pouches, holy water bottles, etc. This is a must see if you are in NYC.
After discovering St. Vincent’s I feel as though I’ve been spoiled. It’s the perfect example of harmony between the novus ordo and the Latin rite. The Dominic’s do a phenomenal job with this liturgy (I say liturgy because it feels closer to that than mass - for those nerd out there)
As I do with all Catholic church’s I review them based on the GERM.
Architecture:
When you first step foot into this space you immediately feel the sense of sacredness, reverence, and beauty. It is breathtaking for a first timer. The gothic tall ceilings with brilliant masonry, marched tasteful with the darker stain glass compositions. The details on the lighting and the sanctuary are stunning. Easy 10/10
Tabernacle location:
Front and center the entire focal point points your eyes toward heaven on earth which is represent by the tabernacle. 10/10
Kneeling:
Everyone kneels during the appropriate times of consecration. No issues here. 10/10
Reverence:
It is obvious goign here and one of the main draws for me personally is that this place cultivates a space for reverence. And everyone follows that. The people that come choose to be here. That alone says enough.

Community:
This is possibly the one thorn of this place. Though it is improving fortunately. Due to the people that are drawn to this place it is a mixed bag of latin mass goers and those who can appreciate the latin mass but have less of the attitude. As I have seen in the past and is the case here these things mix as well as oil and water. While there both in the same cup they don’t sync. This is not a fault of the Dominicans but rather just a natural evolution in the correct step of what they are trying to build here in creating a synergy between both worlds while we are still in the turmoil of the post Vatican 2 era. With all that said the Dominicans offer a post mass social coffee hour for the noon and 6pm masses where there is a lot of young adult turnout which is amazing. So all in all right direction but needs work: 8/10
Homily:
Almost every homily I’ve heard here has been more than above the average homily. What I most appreciate is that they actually follow the germ and only preach about the readings and gospel, yet make it relevant today. I mean they are Dominicans after all they know there stuff. 10/10
Kiss of peace:
It still exists, but only sometimes. I’ve found they do skip over it which is a relief personally. If it does happen it’s don’t silently and with reverence. 10/10
Total score: 68/70

“God cares about the details. In the sacred liturgy, the details matter because they express the holiness of God. When the liturgy is celebrated in a dignified fashion, validly and licitly, it has the ability to teach us much more about God than human words ever could. This was the case for the Israelites, and it is still the case today. Poorly celebrated liturgy teaches us poor theology. God shows us that he deserves the best from us in life by requesting the best of what we have for divine liturgy, whether art, ornamentation, or music. He deserves this because he is God.”

Absolutely beautiful. I have a soft spot for stained glass so this church was gorgeous. The atmosphere was great, even if I’m not religious, I still felt like I was connected with god. As a music nerd, the organ playing was amazing as well. Overall, amazing experience and definitely recommended!

You can walk in and tour around during the day. The architecture is fascinating. Light a candle for someone if you are Catholic. It's quite nice and quiet. Take time to sit and reflect. Thought it was interesting that they had QR codes on the back of each pew to donate, for the mass reading or for your mass offering.
I am a Hospice Nurse in a near by Assisted Living (Hospice Floor) and we have been blessed to have a Priest (Fr Michael) come quickly to administer the last rites to our Catholic Patient when in need of it. Very grateful for their services. 🙏🏻

An uplifting refuge of transcendent calm in the heart of the city. Worth seeing for the architectural and artistic details even if you’re not religious. In the far end of the nave, behind the main altar area, there is a small chapel dedicated to the Blessed Virgin that is reserved for prayer - photography and noisy conversation are not allowed. If you need a place to center your mind and heart, stop here. God bless St. Pat’s.
Gorgeous inside and out! The respect people have for one another inside by being quiet is astounding. We donated $2 to light a candle and they do ask for a donation for entering. The stained glass is just beautiful, I could just and look at the glass in awe for hours.

Ukrainian diaspora church. 💙💛
St Vincent Ferrer was the church we chose for our wedding day and we couldn’t have been happier. From the moment we first visited the church, it took our breathe away. The details of the church are incredible. Fr. Reginald was our officiant and took the extra time to get to know us during the marital process. The day of event coordinator and organist at St Vincent were absolutely wonderful and professionals at their job. The day was very smooth and we can’t wait to visit in the future!
Lovely little church, very welcoming to strangers. I came here for Easter with my 3yo daughter and even though we are not Ukrainian, we were welcomed with open arms and were invited downstairs to partake in the community meal and kid festivities. It was a lovely Easter Day, and my daughter danced with the other kids to Ukrainian nursery rhymes (even tho she does not speak Ukrainian, lol). Interestingly enough the friendly priest speaks Ukrainian, Romanian and English. A very friendly church and community. It’s near to a yummy and cheap Vietnamese sandwich (banh mi) place, which we also enjoyed.
I absolutely love and adore this Church. It's beauty is breathtaking in every way, especially for later/ evening services and Vigil Mass (my personal favorite). All the staff, from the Clergy to the Laity are always so wonderful, genuine and kind too. Throughout my life I've moved around a lot, attending many different churches both Catholic and protestant, and this is the first Church I have attended where I truly, immediately felt at home since the church of my youth. The same church where my parents were wed, where I was baptized, and took my First Communion. Of course that church will always have a very special place in my heart, and so will St. Vincent Ferrer. I can't possibly say enough nice things about it, and I consider myself very blessed to be in it's congregation.
Dominicans are like the best first of all. They offer Wednesday holy hour, confessions and do compline. Wonderfully reverent masses, and they sometimes use the high altar! Undoubtedly one of the, if not the most beautiful church in Manhattan.
As a cradle Catholic I truly enjoy this. I scratched past the surface somewhat different aspects of the religion. And I'm really able to get deep in prayer with some things not everything. But Catholic Underground NYC adoration is very dear to me. I look forward to it every month until they break for Summer. Very fulfilling when you allow yourself to be centered there. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Holy Innocents is one of the most important churches I have ever visited. It is where I attended my first High Mass in the Extraordinary Form, along with my dear, late friend Matthew Pecorino. It was on the Assumption, which is my favourite feast (owing to my devotion to Our Lady from growing up in a Marian parish). Matt was a full head shorter than I, and I remember how he tried to hold up his Missal so I could follow along during the chants, but as I had four years' experience of Gregoian chant from high school, I kept staring straight ahead as we went! Additionally, I have dedicated my life to the protection of the unborn — and their mothers — and so the Holy Innocents themselves are also dear to my heart. This parish is very, very special, as well as conveniently located in the heart of Midtown. Even if you are not Catholic, or you are Catholic but prefer to worship in the vernacular (and I typically do), treat yourself to a Traditional Latin Mass here at least once. It's the only church in town where you can do so every day of the week! Holy Innocents, martyrs in deed but not will, ora pro nobis.

Possibly my favorite church in NYC. Famously frequented by Andy Warhol, St. Vincent Ferrer has relics, a chorus and is staffed by many caring and devout Dominicans that i met throughout my visits from teen to adulthood. There are relics and beautiful art to see, and you can pray Lauds and Vespers with the friars every day. A true sanctuary for all Christians and tourists of any faith to visit.

We didn't know that this beautiful and traditional Catholic Church existed in the midst of the busy city. Walked in to a Latin mass, just solemn. Confession and exposition of Blessed Sacrament were present. It was really hot inside the church, but it isn't about being comfortable while Christ is giving an ultimate sacrifice.

It was my first time visiting the Shrine and I went there for the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (July 16th) and don't regret it at all. It is big, beautiful, clean: the restrooms didn't smell and there was no dirt. It is a Holy place of worship where I really felt the presence of my God and Savior through his Blessed Mother. They have many statues of the Blessed Mother of course (most of them), of angels. The mass is mostly Latin which is a change from the regular Catholic mass I attend. Even though it is in Harlem, once inside it is silent and you are in the best conditions to worship. There is a grotto there where you can light candles at your intentions and the store has many religious articles. They will definitely see me more there 🙏🙏🙏

The Roman Catholic Shrine & Parish Church of The Holy Innocents is located in the Fashion Center, mid-town Manhattan. Founded in 1866, the mission of the church is to be a spiritual oasis in one of busiest business districts in the world - Times/Herald Square. The celebration of four daily Masses, including one daily Mass in the Tridentine Latin Rite, confession, and public devotions, enable visitors time for personal and communal prayer. Fr. James L. P. Miara is the Pastor of Holy Innocents.
As a person who has lived abroad in former Soviet countries, I can read Cyrillic and I admire these cathedrals very much. A few days ago I was standing outside reading the Ukrainian signage and a male came out of the church and approached me as if I was intruding or trespassing, mind you I was on the public sidewalk. He asked me what I wanted and I simply said that I was admiring the church and he didn’t seem to like my reply! He stood there expecting I don’t know what. I simply walked away and thought how unfortunate to have such unchristian behavior and such an aggressive person be so suspicious of someone who admires such a beautiful place. What a pity.

It's a beautiful church. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. You feel motivated or drawn to pray and adore God. Everyone is kind and friendly.

My friends got married here and wow talk about an amazing wedding the bride and groom looked fabulous. And the church was breathtakingly beautiful. Very spacious and the people were so great.

My last visit was on Christmas Eve and the quality of the choir, organ and additional musicians made me feel as though I had been listening to a choir from Heaven. I have never heard a better choir performance anywhere. The music was awesome!
The singing and organ play have always been great when I have attended the Mass on Sundays, when I have visited there. I highly recommend this church to those who live in the area or are visiting the city.

So I kind of stumbled into Our Lady of Good Counsel after an exam this morning looking for a.m. mass in 10021 and to my good fortune OLOGC had 9am mass...hooray! 🤗

Great atmosphere, amazing architecture, very nice people.
Beautiful church, the stained glass and structure of it are wonderful. Marble stones decorate the walls along with a beautiful high ceiling ceiling.

Only been for Catholic Underground run by the CFR.s, which if you haven't experienced you're missing out. At those events, the church is packed, not even standing room only. Hundreds of young adults pack the church for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Confession. The CFR's lead music, and throughout the evening you pray Evening Prayer and Night Prayer. A concert follows in the basement after the Holy Hour. Incredible experience. It's beautiful to see the church packed on a Saturday night when they could be doing really anything else. Some beautiful images behind the main altar and reredos.
Beautiful! One of my favorite churches in the city. Shortly after we walked in they turned the lights on and it is a completely different place. Rich in Jesuit spirituality. Some stunning marble work. Definitely pop in and saay some prayers, you won't be disappointed.
St. Agnes is a beautiful hidden gem! I am admittedly biased because of its long history with my confirmation patron, Ven. Abp. Fulton Sheen, but my experience at Holy Thursday Mass cemented it as well.

Interior of the church is beautiful and well kept. Can't say enough of how beautiful the masses are celebrated by the priests.
The inviting presence of God awaits all visitors and locals at this church. I recently attended mass here and was ensnared by the impressive architecture of the building and the spiritual message of the priest delivering the gospel.
Neat little church, which certainly doesn't look like it belongs in the neighborhood. Among the tenement and hirises of the Lower East Side and Nolita, this orthodox church stands out.
