Lugar de encuentro social, contemplación y de festejo de eventos sociales. En las imágenes se muestran algunas de las figuras en el templo y de un grupo de jóvenes festejando la finalización de sus estudios universitarios.
Stunning and incredible cathedral that was once visited by Pablo Paul 11 in 1979. The frescos, tributes to the saints in gold leaf, incredible designs what a beautiful place to worship in Mexico City. On the perimeter of the equally stunning Zocalo. Wow. Just wow.
Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral nice place big one and beautiful, calm place not much crowded and spacious. Well Maintained, good security around the area.Good place to visit.
The largest cathedral I have entered in my life. The architecture was amazing and very intricate. Multiple worship halls with extremely high ceilings. It was beautiful. A definite must see in Mexico City.
Very large church which is well decorated inside. There is free entry. The sculptures are very ornate and have been well preserved. Excellebt architecture
The Metropolitan Cathedral of the Assumption of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic. It’s absolutely beautiful and must visit landmark. Fun fact, pillars are monitored by seismic probe measuring any vibrations that could occur since the Cathedral is slowly sinking.
This is a gorgeous cathedral that will blow your mind if you've never been in one before. There are multiple chapels and places of worship inside, plus an art gallery. Services are still held here so be respectful if one is ongoing. It's free to visit and has an entrance on the north side of the main plaza. Totally worth a visit whether you're religious or not.
There was quite a bit of construction going on. The building was build on top of ancient Tenochtitlan buildings but have been sinking into the stilt. A lot of engineering going on to prevent the building from toppling over.

The cathedral was built in sections from 1573 to 1813[3] around the original church that was constructed soon after the Spanish conquest of Tenochtitlan, eventually replacing it entirely. Spanish architect Claudio de Arciniega planned the construction, drawing inspiration from Gothic cathedrals in Spain.

One can spend hours roaming in the cathedral and appreciating the exquisite work. Also felt a little sad about all history the Spaniards destroyed to build their own.

One of my favorite things to do on trips through Mexico is to visit the churches and cathedrals. This cathedral is the most spectacular I have experienced in México, and I have visited 22 of the 32 states. Admission is free, however donations of any amount are greatly appreciated (and well deserved in my opinion). You will be amazed by the architecture, design, art work, and the general ambiance. A must see de anyone visiting this part of the city.
Este templo es muy bonito. Situado cerca del Zócalo. Es tranquilo, pero siempre recibe visitas.
Recomiendo visitar si pasan por delante. Prendan una velita en sus oraciones.

Beautiful church of the Franciscan order very close to the Zocalo in Centro Historico. Take time to go inside and appreciate the tranquility that comes with a few moments’ respite inside a house of worship.
A small church right beside the more famous Catedral Metropolitano located in the Centro Historico area or Zocalo. It's safe to say that it is equal of architectural beauty and significance to the church right beside it
Beautiful Church connected through the interior with the Cathedral. It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen. Definitely worth the visit
Expectacular
This church was built in the early 1700s after the previous two sunk into the soft soil of Mexico. It's not uncommon to see many buildings leaning or sinking all throughout Mexico City. The history of this church goes back to 1629. Free to enter and explore. It is located at the west end of Madero St in the historic center of Mexico city.
This Church San Francisco we visited once. When we took a Tour of The City Four months before my Thirteenth Birthday when I was Twelve. There we went, The Sagrada Familia itself. Lol, and I say that with a beaming heart, like that of Jesus's himself. Ok. I can bee a little dramatic. But DahDah's name Is Jose. And MyMother. God Bless Her Soul. May She Bee Resting At The Bosom Of The Lourd. And May they both, rest in peace. Her Name is Maria Socorro. I'm Jose but it almost sounds like Jesus doesn't it? I think so. In personality n character, I strive n thrive for perfection. Knowing that in this Life. I will never attain that. But it is nice to try wouldn't you think? Enough about USS, The Choych? You can feel the magic. Please excuse my French~ right as you enter you feel and experience awe. For non church attending people, you will see what The Builders Of Ould constructed and the meticulous you'll view in spite of the shaky ground aaaaaaall of Mexico City was built up in. The engineer's of that era prallally didn't perfect that addendum 101 but the Builders themselves really put their all into all architectural aspect and you yourself will feel very very fuzzy. The Building is a Jewel. A true Gem in The Hands Of Our Lourd God, The Holy Spirit, Jesus Himself & Our Holiest Of Holy Mother as I, You, We All Are Gems To Them. And Precious In Their Sight. Especially if you and you loved ones are on vacation. I saw one of the reviews and they had 9544 photos! Of this place! I'm thinking and I'm jealous! In friendly and congratulatory forms of course! We didn't bring the camrah along because we forgot. And our visit to this city was first and foremost a medical visit. But we remembered and brought the camrah along on our next visit. Which turned out to bee to The North This Time. Guadalajara. Same difference just not AS crazy. I'd like to inform the reviewer way below Me, that this Church is a place of worship. And only that. So the conplicatednessess on the walls with crazy inscriptions"" to quote you, are. A representation Of The Nation Of Mexico Itself. The heiroglyphs and volcanic stone found throughout have a very profound past and have seen many things. We're glad they hold up The Church Sanctuary ⛪ today instead OUVH. It's chilling to know that they firmed a part of Mexico City waaaaaayy before Mr Cortez showed up tryin to scratch people's pockets fow they skrillah n stuff. The Church. It's Beautiful. Like The Others. Statues. They stand as Reminders. Witnesses of days gone bye bye but are parts of today. Parking. Take the 🚇 Metro cause it's at a nill not Like The Churches Here In America. Thee Altar. Well what should I say? Even if I'm at Odds with The Lord, it's okay & that happens in all families in which This particular Altar is VERY Grandiose and throughout, guides what we view, how we see, our differing perspectives & Our Eyes, To Look Up.Thank You and if you vacation there, you'll bee glad you did. I truly hope you enjoy thyselves on vacation & your leisurelys for you deserve it! Night!
A very ornate and huge baptistery located right next to the metropolitan cathedral. Definitely worth a look.
What a beautiful place to worship! It takes a lot to maintain these sanctuaries and I really appreciate all the people working there to make it beautiful for everyone to visit. Blessed 😇

Beautiful church of Franciscan order, with the amazing façade executed in elaborate sculptural architectural ornamental style known as Churrigueresque or ultra baroque. Church now, formerly a huge convent taking up several city blocks, the Templo y Convento de San Francisco de la Ciudad de México was one of the earliest churches in Mexico City, put up briefly after the conquest by Cortes. Apparently, it takes up the area where the last Aztec emperor Montezuma had his zoo, arguable a first zoo in the entire world.
Even though the church has undergone several partial and complete reconstructions, there is still much to see and admire.
Beautiful little church adjacent to the city cathedral
Pray for my sins
Sssshhhhh!!!
Got that I'll go through it alone tiempos antigos congrats Astoria de la ciudad de Mexico we got to sell car in Sao Paulo capitalino Kona Ice Truck Dora it'll tiempos antiguos excelente condiciones B mucha limpieza eventos en la catedral is she staying diferentes copy yes. Los Santos did I see another Mexico I think it at the command OK Google what was that be Mexicano
Free, pretty, no shorts allowed inside. Attached to the main metropolitan cathedral.
Beautiful church. Not easily accessible with wheelchair or stroller. Metal ramp was helpful but access into church main doors requires lifting wheelchair or stroller over large door sills.
While this church doesn't compare to the opulence and grandeur of the Cathedral right next to it it's a beautiful church in its own right.
