Possibly the only halal restaurant (kebab doesn't count.) in Southport? staff says it's 100% halal but they do serve alcohol if that's something you'd be cautious about

surprisingly the flavour isn't really Uyghur style but more on the chinese cuisine side. I ordered stir fry vermicelli (新疆炒米粉) and beef patty (肉夾饃). vermicelli was really outstanding, you can taste the freshness in ingredients, meat was meaty and the veggies are really crunchy; however patty was real disappointing, cumin took over the flavour of everything, and it was wayyyy too salty and frankly i'm a heavy season person so just imagine. plus the bun isn't traditional as displayed on menu.

staff would always smile and service was good. except she originally mistaken me as a foreigner and made me pay up front which really rubbed me the wrong way.

otherwise alhamdulilah for another halal restaurant.
Used to love this restaurant. But have bad experience this time. We two people waited more than half an hour and get nothing served because they give priority service to take away and table with big group. Or they should let us know there’s a long waiting time when we order the food. Very disappointed. The flavor is ok to myself even though it’s oily and salty. But I can tell the meat they use in the fried noodles
is not fresh.
A little slice of Japan in my hometown.

This is the most epic and authentic Japanese restaurant experience I've had outside of Japan itself.

A friend and were looking for something warm and delicious around the Chinatown precinct. After a few laps and a couple of booked out spaces, we doubled past Maruya, and it caught our attention again. Poking our heads inside was like stepping off a plane and into another world. With my jaw officially dragging across the floor and my eyes perfect love hearts of wonder, I uncrossed my fingers and asked/begged for a table for 2... a quick look around the server, said "Hai, one moment, please."

Looking over the relatively small and uncomplicated menu, all of my favourite dishes are here. Below are the quickest photos ever taken, as I was drooling like a great dane at the mention of dinner.

Needless to say. Everything was incredible.

My only feedback was on the price of seaweed sald. $12 for a small bowl is a little outrageous. Especially considering most restaurants serve the same pre-packaged item for half the price.
We had ordered a small variety of food which i tend to lean towards at the typical uyghur restaurants, this included the cumin lamb with rice as well as a noodle soup off their soup menu. These dishes were cooked perfectly especially the lamb which is usually overcooked, the soup had a fantastic authentic flavour which actually got better with every spoonful. The restaurant actually had a whole entire seating area next door which is quite deceiving at first, but a pleasant surprise
Yummy food great menu really quick service short wait time on food.
This is my second time eating here as the first time the food was super Oishi till I forgot to take pictures haha. Sashimi is soooo fresh, I love wagyu beef salad so much will order every time! Karage chicken is soooooo yummy! Everything is so delicious, good quality and cheap! Staff is so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is reminding me of when I went to Japan!
Came here for wagyu beef don and didn’t disappoint! Highly recommend ordering it. It looked so delicious so i forgot to take a picture at first.
We had the Supreme Share Box, and it was amazing. Well seasoned, the chicken karaage was very crunchy on the outside and super moist inside... i will go for it again for sure! The staff members were very welcoming!

Bad experience, food lacked flavor and freshness half of our order arrived cold and had to be sent back, when trying to get help from one waitress she totally ignored me so tried another, staff seemed agitated and not that helpful, it didn't look that busy. We sat outside, big mistake, there extractor fan vents directly onto where your sitting there was so much smoke we thought the kitchen was on fire!, wouldn't go back.
We went on a family dinner night and was quite dissatisfied with the quality of food and selection. The quality of meats was not good especially the “wagyu” and pork belly which is the main thing about Korean bbq. For the price of $47 pp it didn’t include drinks or dessert. Selection was very poor as they had very little to offer. Overall wouldn’t recommend this place for the price.
Too expensive to have so little variety. There were about 5 types of meat and 4 types of seafood, one type of rice and one type of noodle. The price ($47) does not include drinks or dessert.
We expected better quality because they say it is "premium meat" but the truth is that it is not.
You can't call it a buffet if you don't have a wide variety of products to choose from. We ended up eating the same thing every time.
I have dined at this restaurant on several occasions in the past with very warm, polite and smiling face. The wait staffs was so nice and I used to give TIPS. Moreover, the food is very fresh and delicious especially prawns, wagyu beef and fry rice.
But regrettably, today’s experience left me feeling quite disheartened and feeling to post a review. From Indian and Filipino girl’s quality of customer service was subpar, with the wait staffs displaying rudeness and an unwelcoming attitude. Specifically, when I requested a change of grill plate, the response from one of the waitresses was particularly impolite. This is not the first instance; previously, when I asked for a bottle of water, the same waitress exhibited a similar lack of courtesy. Consequently, I feel compelled to share this negative encounter, and I have decided not to come back this restaurant again.

This Thai restaurant was delicious and had very friendly service. We got the Penang curry and Pad Kee Mao and they were huge serving sizes. Highly recommended.

Nice food, good staff!

One of the best Thai restaurants on the Gold Coast!! Beef salad and (real) Thai basil stir fry so amazing!
Gold Coast restaurants are bad. But this is really bad! Disappointing overall. We wish you all the best. But it’s false advertising that it’s “Korean BBQ”.
The cutlery and crockery are not Korean. The staff are not Korean. The flavour of the side dishes are definitely not Korean. The atmosphere is not Korean. We paid a lot of money for some very average food.
Recommendations:
- refurbish the shop, it’s not clean and the atmosphere is in desperate need of improving
- Provide proper Korean chopsticks and bowls. It’s meant to be a Korean experience!
- Upgrade the rice to Korean short grain rice.
- The salads and side dishes need to be prepared in the traditional Korean way.
- The soup is abysmal. Not Korean at all. Hire Korean chefs.
- Don’t use ChatGPT to provide responses to feedback, it’s not authentic, just like this restaurant.
- And yes, I have been to this restaurant, hence the review.
Food are decent. Flavour wise ok. Wish there were more dessert choices.
Quite busy for a monday night.

We had Satay Chicken Strews, Pad Thai Duck, Deep Fried Fish, Tong Yam Soup and Thai milk tea. All of them were delicious 🤤 Atmosphere and service were great. We had a wonderful dinner for our anniversary 🥰 Definitely coming back!
Average food.
Friendly customer services.
Nice space.

Thanks!🙂
We booked a table for family dinner at this Thai restaurant, and it was fantastic! The table was ready early, super clean, and had a friendly atmosphere. The service was great, and the food was delicious, fresh, and they gave us plenty. We'll definitely go back. 5 stars! 🌟🍲👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
I love this buffet so much! First time eating here and i am very satisfied. Love their kimchi so much⭐️ although seafood selection needs more 😌 overall i love it so much! Will comeback here again with my family and will recommend it to my friends 🤍
Very basic Thai eatery. Food was ok but just that
It was my first time at a Korean BBQ buffet, and this did not disappoint 👏. Simple concept: select a variety of meat, seafood, vegetables and dipping sauces to prepare by hand on the table grill plates; other foods available are fried rice, miso, kimchi, noodles, curry and soup. 💯 recommend 👌. $45pp minimum of 2pp per table. There are plenty of Korean beverages—the perfect place for a group outing or celebration. Word of warning ⚠️ there is a surcharge for wasted food.
I love this place. One of the best Japanese restaurant in Gold Coast so far
Ordered beef with salad $29. I feel like the beef is melted in my mouth. Really yummy. And salmon califonia roll for $24. It’s so gud and fresh too
I would highly recommend here and definitely come back here again to try different dishes

Located in Southport Como crest, plenty of parking beside, but it can be full during the lunch hours.

I went during the lunch hour and it was pretty busy but not full, however I have noticed there is only one waitress who has to do all the serving and taking the orders.

The food serving time is not bad, didt wait too long for the food to come, just I need to keep waving my hand when paying my bill and taking my orders. But waitress is friendly and polite.

The taste is not bad. Approved

Overall it is not bad, it would be better if they improve the service

Nice place with good food and friendly staff.

There are seats on the terrace and nice landscapes on the wall. Lovely place.

They were busy even though we went for lunch on a weekday.
But they served very quickly.

We ordered green curry, pad see eaw, and mixed entree.
I don't exactly know the difference from a normal menu though they have a lunchtime special which you can choose from a specific menu (curry, stir-fries, noodles…)
Maybe the serving size.
We had green curry as the regular menu and pad see eaw as a lunchtime special.
Also, we had deep-fried ice cream at the last.
It was big so we should have shared one with the two of us but too tasty that we finished one each even though we were already full.

I would like to try Massaman Beef next which many people leave good reviews.
food is not authentic Korean (seasoning is not right, bad side dishes) not a lot of options for $45pp. Drinks are overpriced. Spend a bit money for a-là-carte instead of a bad buffet.
Beaut Lebanese Restaurant offering an impressive selection of Middle Eastern Delicacies.

Located opposite Australia Fair on Nerang Street, (Gold Coast Hwy end).

Has both inside & outdoor dining options.

Had the Lamb Shawarma Plate. The Presentation & Taste was Fabulous. Really Good portion size. So,Value for money Is Outstanding !!
D place is not too good inside so u better sit outside...
But overall d food so tasty.. we love lamb so we order lamb shawarma
The rice and dipping sauce and especially d grilled lamb so delicious
Recommended middle east restaurat at Southport. 1plate is big enough for sharing
Based on the food (quality, value and authenticity) this place should be humming.

My partner and I have been here numerous times, the food always delivers, but the service, though friendly, can be perfunctory, and the restaurant has zero atmosphere.

Improvements - ambience, get rid of all the (falling-down) bad café branded signage (Solo, Coke etc) on the dirty windows.

Le Star is clearly already popular with the local Lebanese community, why not create a more authentic experience? - lighting (led table candles, pontoon lights etc), bamboo walls outside (to hide Nerang Streer), music, images etc - go to Thaitanic in Nerang if you want to see how to create a vibe without a lot of expense.

Menu - offer (rather than just list) mint tea, make it a signature and value-add. Introduce and promote a modest BYO charge - say, $5 per bottle. BYO is a bonus.

Offering beverages will also increase your average spend. Give tables tap water upon arrival - appears hospitable, generous & costs virtually nothing.

The menu is too big and difficult to navigate. Offer a $30 per head set menu. Veg & non-veg. Reduces wastage, increases average spend, turnover speed/service etc include a jug of free mint tea.

Fix these things, and I can assure you, you could triple your revenue within months, if not days.
The platter was absolutely delicious! It's not on the menu but there's a picture and costs $36. Was enough for 4 adults along with the pitta and hummus and cheese pasties. Don't judge this place by its cover. It might not look inviting but the food is like being at my Lebanese friends house with mamma cooking. Authentic, yummy and quality food
The food was good, we were so hungry when we went there. And we asked them if they make the food early for us. The lady in charge was very quick and the food was awesome.
I love thai food so was looking forward to our lunch at Absolutely Thai.
You can sit inside or out or even take away if you want. We chose outside but at lunch time, it is a pretty busy street so we did cop a fair smattering of smoke from passerbys but oh well, you get the intimacy of being on the street with the bustle and grind. It did not help a patron on a table next to use talked incessantly and loudly on his mobile for well over 40 minutes.
The table was clean, the menu clear and clean and the lady who served us was a sweetheart.
We had a noodle dish with tofu and a thai vegetarian fried rice with vegetables. The food arrived very promptly and was fresh and clean in flavour. The portion size was commendable in these frugal times and overall the price was good. $30 for a lunch for two with nice food is pretty good.
Would not hesitate to try again.
Parking is a bit of a challenge but at worse you could use the parking at Australia Fair and walk. AF gives you three hours free.
Very authentic Japanese cuisine. Food was served fast even though they were busy, staffs were extremely friendly and polite. Food was delicious and good too. Definitely recommend giving it a try!

Absolutely yummy authentic Japanese eatery. So delicious and authentic. A must visit in Gold Coast (Southport), acorss the road from Australia Fair/ Mall. Can take GC tram, drive or bus. Free parking available in the mall. The restaurant has inddor and out door seating. Always full during busy time of the day, and days of the week. They open quite early so ideal for those who want to miss the crowd. Reasonable prices but the taste is out of this world. They have classic 70s cartoon posters and actual toy modules on the wall. Staff are very friendly and Kitchen service is very fast. Highly recomended if you are after a Japanese eatery owned and cooked by Japanese chef and staff. I am so glad they managed through Covid and seeing that they are still popular with locals. I can't praise this place ebough, you just have to go and try it out. Highly recomended.
I had a wonderful luncheon with a group of friends. I had BBQ prawns with possibly the nicest garlic sauce/dip I have ever had.
I recently visited a Xinjiang Cuisine Restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with the food and overall dining experience. The standout dish for me was the mutton with noodles, which was absolutely delicious. The soup was yummy and the mutton was cooked to perfection - tender and juicy. I highly recommend giving this dish a try!

Another highlight of the menu were the lambo kebabs, which were bursting with traditional Xinjiang BBQ flavors. The lamb was tender and flavorful, and the seasoning was just right. I was impressed with how well-prepared the kebabs were and how they were cooked to perfection.

Overall, I had a great experience at the restaurant and I am looking forward to returning in the future to try other dishes on the menu. The ambiance was also very welcoming and the staff was attentive and friendly. If you're looking for delicious Xinjiang cuisine, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit!

Such delicious food at very reasonable prices! Authentic tasting and generous servings.

Everything is seasoned really well.

I love that they use chicken breast, much healthier and still juicy. We are now regulars!
A must visit! The best and Authentic Thai food. This is a new Thai restaurant in GoldCoast. They have dishes that are hard to find in other Thai restaurants such as the Southern style spicy stir fried minced pork and Yellow curry. And The mango sticky rice is to die for! Very friendly staff as well. Highly recommend!
Personally I found this restaurant did not match expectations set by other reviews. They state that they make all pastes from scratch and have some interesting dishes on menu. We tried soft shell crab entree, really small serve and nothing special. Red Curry beef, lacking in flavour, no heat and overly sweet. Kra pao mhoo sab, this dish also had very little heat and tasted mostly of soy surprisingly as that wasn't mentioned in the description. The accompanying rice bowl was pretty much a single congealed mass and difficult to separate also. Overall below average Thai food was my experience. Friendly service and quite quick but I couldn't recommend and won't be returning

Great service from friendly staff, the food came out fairly quickly and piping hot. Fantastic flavours that transported us back to Thailand! It was absolutely delicious, and we will definitely be returning to enjoy more yummy authentic dishes.
Great place to have an authentic Thai curry! This was the second time we had lunch here this month, and the food has been
consistently exceptional!

Full of flavour and my request for Thai hot was taken seriously which was a nice surprise. (At other Thai restaurants I often feel I am being protected from myself ;) )

Incredibly affordable as well at $30 for 2 curries and 2 spring rolls! We will definitely come back often!
When You enter Xinjiang Cuisine Chinese Restaurant for the First Time, it Can Seem like a bit of a Maze.

The Waitress & Hostess Are Helpful & Efficient.
The Food was Good & Featured Hand Made Noodles, Which Were Very Tasty.

There Was Quiet a Long Wait for the Dish to Arrive at The Table, With the Hostess Letting Me Know, Regularly, That it “Will be Ready Soon”

I Had the “Xinjiang Noodles” which comes with Lamb & Vegetables. Although, It Was Nicely Presented & Tasted Great, the Lamb Was Sparse.

This Restaurant has a Selection of Non Alcoholic Drinks & Is Also BYO.

Located on Nerang Street Southport, Near the Tram Station.
That place surprised us. From the outside it looks like a normal take away joint but the food is restaurant quality. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
We will definitely come back

Only little critique: is the flair, bit more Lebanese decoration would be great.
Great place for cheap and delicious Xinjiang food! Would recommend any of their noodle and grilled lamb skewers. Lovely staffs, transparent and quick service.
My favourite restaurant in GC. Food always yummy 😋 if you’re a lamb lover MUST try! Noodles are also Yumm...!
What an amazing little restaurant. So many delicious dishes; overwhelmed with choices. Big portions, amazing prices. Efficient service. An easily missed hidden gem. If you're looking for more than your typical Chinese food, and like meat, this is the place for you.
A truly hidden gem in Southport, Queensland. This Lebanese restaurant blew us out of the water with their quality and quantity of food. The restaurant could use some interior design to attract more customers but when we decided to give this place a try, it hit all the notes we were looking for. Staff was super friendly and helpful. In the time we were seated there and enjoying our meal, we witnessed her help many other customers and even rearrange the seating to better accommodate some families. Lovely atmosphere and very homey feel. Highly recommend this place. Their food was delicious, and the portions were very very generous. Would definitely come here again.
