This place is great. It looks like you are eating in someone's house who turned their living room into a restaurant. The beef stew is great and the schnitzel is amazingly crispy with nice pepper sauce. And the pudding is really really good. Lovely staff. Good beer. Nice 👍
Good food with plenty of seating by the canal. They don't have Heineken but the house beer tastes the same. Weird that they asked for a tip.
Beautiful place essentially at the zoo near the big bird cage. Food was great. Wife had the pork neck and i had the steak. Both were very nice. Service was really slow but it was a hang out for the evening place anyway. Really great way to spend the evening. Great place for a date. This was actually the plantage restaurant.
The restaurant is in one of the most popular areas and there's a lot of people traffic. There are lots of restaurants. The food was good, good quality over the price. The dutch pancakes were the best we've eaten in Amsterdam. The staff is super friendly and kind. We've felt very comfortable.
Amazing experience! We were seated right next to the water and we really enjoyed boats passing by and the overall view on Noord.

Beautiful traditional restaurant near the museums, tiny but cozy location, lively atmosphere and delicious food. The service was a bit inattentive (they brought us a different dish than what we ordered and forgot to bring us water), and the toilet is extremely tiny and not very clean. The prices are on the higher end, but, all things considered, worth trying.

Has been my favorite place to eat burgers! Smashed burger with kimchi was amazing. Served with fries which were also deliciously seasoned. They have also a menu for the kids. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended to give it a try!
Staff is rude! They don’t understand service they put us on a table and afterwards after we ordered drink and wanted to order food they tell us we only have 30 minutes to eat and leave, because our table is apparently reserved! They could’ve mentioned that before hand before they let us sit and order!

I went here for brunch before hitting up the Micropia museum and I was NOT disappointed! I was seated immediately at a window seat and waited on. The vibe inside is so relaxed but still stylish. The wait staff were all kind and accommodating. My server answered my questions about the menu and gave me his recommendations. I ordered a regular hot latte and the “shak attack”. Both were delicious and I wish I had more time to sit and enjoy something else. I would definitely go back if ever in Amsterdam!
Great restaurant, I waited a year to finally go so the hype was huge! We went for lunch and were seated by the window, which was lovely. We chose the 6 course menu with some wine. The dishes get better and better as the meal progresses. The staff is attentive and nice, a really nice atmosphere made better by the open kitchen. I can't wait to go again!

Box Sociaal is a cracking place. I extremely lovely vibe to it. Staff were friendly and on top of superb service. Food was fantastic too.

We had sweets & hot teas of different flavors. Waiter was a bit sloppy & forgetful. He did not repeat the order to ensure accuracy. When I asked him to, my hunch was correct, he mistakenly was wrong in recording the order.
Staff were incredibly friendly, and given how busy it was, they found us seating outside. I had the Dutch pork. The pork was cooked perfectly. the sauce was not my favourite but nice to try something local. The Dutch sausage and mash was amazing, and the small pancakes were delish. Really good value given portion size and quality. Definitely come but do book ahead!

We stood up & while we were leaving the waitress laughed while saying: “but do you want the food or not?”, which would suggest they hadn’t even started to prepare the food after a 90 minute-wait.

A very nice place with exciting dishes. You always wanted to taste how a Korean taco could taste like? This is the place to be. I also had their smashed burger which was very juicy and yummy. I would definitely recommend this place.
A pretty cool restaurant with nice outdoor seating and a cool indoor area. I had the ravioli with fennel sausage and it was very good. The muscles in fish soup was good but a bit too much of a fishy taste for me. Toasted pita ham and cheese was good as well, along with the churros desert.
If you’re longing for Thai E-san food, this is the place you should visit. The papaya salad with Pla-ra is exceptional, and you can customize the spiciness level according to your preference. Even if you’re not Thai, you can request for it to be less spicy. The service offers a warm welcoming experience.
Great place for authentic Dutch food! The owners work on site, cooking and serving, they are heavily involved and great with us. We had to wait 30 minutes but it was so worth it, the food is amazing! The 3-course meals are the best. Great experience but you will need to make a reservation, it's very popular! For a party of 2, you can probably get a table outside with a little wait. Must go!

This place is insanely good. Truly authentic many customers were from Thailand and the food itself is just out of this world. The flavors in the green curry and the wonton soup are insane. The spices they use are incredible and are very intense, nothing left to be desired. I really really recommend it. Just be advised there might be a bit of a wait but it is 100% worth it. Could be the best Thai food I’ve had in my life… also I don’t know why it says only take away they are a full service restaurant. Lastly, the coconut juice is amazing and super refreshing if you still have room after the meal :)
I have come back here multiple times because the food is just so authentic and so good!!! Also took my friends with me and they love it. I would say it’s one of the best thai restaurants in Amsterdam. The seating area is also quite big. There’s sometimes a queue but the wait is worth it :)

Our waitress Nikki was outstanding and accommodating to me! I am not a fan of game meat such quail. She substituted my course for a fish that was outstanding! We are only halfway through our courses. We have been in Europe for 3 weeks by far my most favorite meal and experience yet!

Awsome thai food in Amsterdam! Very tasty and fast (waiting time - less then 15 min), big portions, polite staff, real asian climate. I can recommend in all conscience :)
The 6 course diner is one surprise and tasty dish after another. Each dish is perfectly accompanied a glass of wine. The whole experience was dreamy.
The food was AMAZING! I got the chicken schnitzel and it was fantastic. Along with the chicken there was a salad and fries. I usually don’t like the salads at restaurants but this was different and the fries were so good. Despite are food taking a little while it was worth the wait. Not only is the food great but the atmosphere is great. If your in Amsterdam and looking for a good deuch restaurant I truly agree.

Very good, nice steak, very juicy and flavorful, the burgers so flavorful and the best ingredients, the chicken schnitzel crispy on the outside and so flavorful. The fries perfectly salted, the crunch on the outside and soft in the inside, all these served with a delicious salad that has the best sauce and it is so good. All this served with the highest quality of ingredients.

Found the place on TimeOut's top 22 restaurant. No regrets coming! Made a reservation via email on Sunday (for a Monday booking) & they replied me on the same day! Great food & v nice team! Every dish was good! Sides are separately charged but not expensive. Beer by bottle (not on tap)

Great dinner experience! We found other Google reviews and they were correct! The staff was very accommodating and without a reservation, we were seated right away. The waitress gave a great recommendation. The food was terrific, especially the Parmy and the fried chicken. Great meal!
Great place to eat or just get a coffee and relax. For eating in you should reserve a table because its usually busy. But if you just want a coffee or drink you take it from the bar yourself and just sit at the outside tables. Their coffee is nit the very best in town but the stuff all are amazing and things kinda balance out in the end. Great all in all.
Our favorite meal in Amsterdam! My husband said the sausage was the best he's ever had. The bitterballen was fantastic, as was everything else we had. The service was also amazing! Such a great place to try some authentic Dutch food. Definitely recommend making a reservation.
Came here for lunch. Of course it is much easier to book with a shorter notice plus the price is better! We had the 5 courses tasting menu at MOS with some champagne and cocktail. Very nice flavors of the sea with chic ambience. There are both indoors and outdoors seating which is very nice since the place has a beautiful view of North Amsterdam. The service was good and timely, each dish didn’t take too long to arrive and flavors are great and innovative but somehow still doesn’t make my top three in Amsterdam but within top 10 for sure.
Really great spot! It was recommended to me by some local Dutch folks who said it’s quite authentic. I had their strewed beef with fried potatoes and steamed veggies. A satisfying portion that was just the right size for a hungry traveller. Convinced myself I needed to try their pudding too. I was stuffed walking out but no regrets. The pudding was a delicious end. My total with a Coca Cola was only €23.50 - which seems like great value considering the cost of some other mediocre meals I had in Amsterdam.

Senses was such a wonderful surprise and offered a dining experience that we will never forget. We chose the 6-course chef’s tasting with wine pairing to celebrate a special occasion. We were welcomed warmly into the intimate, cozy restaurant. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and every member clearly had a passion for both the food and providing an exceptional dining experience. Each dish was presented beautifully and with obvious care, and the flavors and flavor combinations were often unique, sometimes surprising and always absolutely “sense-sational”. In addition, the wine pairings were selected with obvious care, and each enhanced its paired dish perfectly. While Senses is accessed through the Albus hotel, this is no standard “hotel restaurant”. I cannot recommend Senses highly enough.

Definitely lived up to the google review. A perfect place to go for Dutch food experiences at a good price. Especially set one, a very hearty meal and you get to try the three different mash. Set 2 is my least favourite but still excellent. The Poffertjes (little warm pancakes with dust sugar) alone makes it worth it.
Definitely can’t go wrong ordering the pork hock for the table. It’s served with honey mustard so not something you want to eat a whole bunch of despite absolutely delicious.

My husband and I enjoyed every single dish of the 5 course tasting menu including amuse-bouche which were cooked/prepered by passionate chefs and served by very friendly staff members who are smiling and very polite. Sommelier was very knowledgeable. We almost didn't go for wine pairing but we're glad that we did. They pay attention to our allergies too and double check to ensure as we both have different allergies. Sorry!

The staff member folded my napkin and placed nicely on the table when I went to the toilet which I thought was a nice touch to the service. Thank you.

The service is amazing and really good value of food. It’s been open for 35 years ! Even gave us teak on the house. Definitely 7 out of 5.

After 15:30 till 16:30 no one asked us a single time if we were doing okay, I called a server over multiple times to ask for more bread, water, drink etc and guess what? We never received the bread, never received the water.
It’s a pity because the first server that was there till 15:30 was amazing!! And when he went on a break we felt lost.

This restaurant had a beautiful and Lovely old fashioned feel to it, the services was lovely and polite, everything was cooked very fresh and cooked to perfection. If you want a homely cooked meal this is the place, it’s the sort of cooking my grandmother would cook with loads of fresh vegetables and simple meat dishes. The desserts are very simple but done beautifully. We had a great experience thank you very much
On our way to the Zeedijk we were looking for a great place to eat, a guy walking in from of us who lived in the neighborhood recommended this place. Never heard of it before but it was worth the try.

Box Sociaal is an excellent and unique place. We loved the decor. The food was spot on. We had the sweet hot chicken and eggs yo way. Both were delicious. Give it a try. It is short 15 minute walk from the Red Light district but the walk is very scenic. You won’t disappointed with this place.
Very nice staff and absolutely delicious food. I got the Boom-Meringue and i can't recommend it enough. My friends all had only lively things to say (we got the Shak-attack, Eggs Yo Way, and the Benny) and they were delicious.

Went there for our anniversary! We had the vegetarian dishes and the food was really good. The service was excellent & overall we had a great evening. Will definitely recommend this place

I was on a long layover and was looking for supper. I stopped in and they were very busy. They asked if I had a reservation, which I did not, but they worked some things out and found a spot for me to dine. The service was excellent, food was superb, and the atmosphere was perfect. It was my first and last meal in Amsterdam, and I'm so thankful I chose Hollands Hap Hmm!! A++
I have found my favorite Thai restaurant in Amsterdam now. I used to go to another one in the center, but after discovering this one, I always come here. The taste and appearance are very authentic, and I'm so happy that I found it.
Wonderful little place. I visited today and had one of their specials. Everything was so flavorful - the pea soup, the combo with sausage, and a yogurt/pudding dessert. The service was fantastic - the server was so pleasant. And the man who seats the guests, who I suspect is the owner, was kind and gracious. I would gladly go back again, and will share this gem with friends planning a visit.

The best spot of Turkish authentic food in Holland with lovely treatment from the owners and the employees, the daughter of the owner was so friendly, welcoming, polite, funny and cooperative.The atmosphere is very nice and I highly recommend it and definitely will come back again and again and again.
Absolutely the best bulgur salad I've ever had. And chicken wrap was also really nice.
This place used to be amazing for a takeaway durum but now it is really disappointing. We just got a 8 euro falafel wrap and it just came with some pathetic lettuce. The falafel itself was good but these wraps used to come loaded with other veggies and were so delicious. They don't have a proper chicken durum anymore either. They instead do a wrap with this gross, fake cheese - this was also super expensive (11 euro) for what it was.
Pretty average Turkish cuisine for a lot more money than competition in the area. Not sure if the ownership changed, but used to be better before the renovation.

The food is a real art. It was definitely one my best culinary experiences. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff are professionals in hospitality. You can feel that they care. It takes around four hours, take your time and enjoy 😉

The food was great, highlights being the fried chicken and the flat iron steak, the latter was cooked to perfection. While it is a little on the pricey side, the portions were generous.

The food was great, highlights being the fried chicken and the flat iron steak, the latter was cooked to perfection. While it is a little on the pricey side, the portions were generous.

Meh. Don't come here if you want to eat. Ordered a simple durum, waited more than half an hour for it, didn't get my food, had to leave hungry!
Beautiful place, decent food. It's a huge place (you may wait longer if it's too crowded) and very nice to host larger parties. Unfortunately today was raining so we couldn't get to the outside patio, which looks lovely. Will definitely come back!

One of my favorite places in amsterdam. Quite big but still cozy. Always great service. They don’t have the biggest menu with tons of vegetarian options but still great choices. Really nice atmosphere. I would recommend to make a reservation
This is a must for traditional Dutch cooking. The atmosphere is as though you have joined friends at their home for a meal of grandmas favorites. Dinner here is memorable for all the right reasons.
We got lucky as we only waited about 10 min for a table. They have an open kitchen and it has the vibe of a place in Thailand, as it's a little messy and the Thai music was playing. We opted for the crispy pork with basil and chili, the laab with pork and the red curry with prawn. First of all this place get a huge 👍for not being halal (they serve pork like in Thailand which is awesome) crispy pork was not crispy, flavor was on point though. Laab was very good and prawm curry was ok. We asked for q bit more spicy... Next time i will ask for a lot more spicy as the kitchen doesn't cook too spicy unless you ask. Nice busy place with pretty good Thai food . We were not blown away but they are better than the average Thai place in the Netherlands.
Ordered the tavuk sis, bread was way too dry, no sauce. Poorly made salad and the little portion of chicken was also too dry. Also really overpriced if I had to pay over 8 euro for this poorly made sandwich…
Enjoyed the 6 course tasting menu at MOS. Very nice flavors of the sea. Chic ambience and has a beautiful view of North Amsterdam.

-Several reviews have recommended making a reservation, but I was able to walk in as soon as they opened at 5pm.
-I did hear the phone ring several times from people calling to make reservations for later times, so if you decide to eat a late dinner, I would advise calling ahead.
-I met this man who has been eating nearly everyday here, he was super nice & I sat down to eat dinner/chat.
-The family that works there is very kind, I felt like I was invited into their house for dinner.
-The menu is short & simple.
-I first ordered the Dutch Shrimp Salad (the tiny shrimp are fresh from the North Sea), it was served a small glass cup w/ some greens & dressing.
-My main course was the Viennese Schnitzel which comes w/ a side of boiled or roasted potatoes & peas/carrots.
-I love eating schnitzel when I visit Europe & theirs did not disappoint :)
-The boiled potatoes & peas/carrots paired perfectly.
Overall, the prices aren't bad, very affordable & the entire dining experience was very homely.

Today this is called the “Sea Food Bistro”!
Food was fantastic. Love the layers of flavours with each dish and their accompanying ingredients. Service has room for improvement as a One Michelin star restaurant. For eg, 2 of the staff cut in right between me and my husband when we were talking to clear the plates. Without saying excuse me or something like that. One lady even slouched when explaining the menu, leaning against the railing. Maybe I’m too harsh but that’s what I would expect if a star is awarded. Food was really good though.
All the food is artwork here, delicious and wonderful presentation. Warm staff, however service could be a tad faster. I ordered the 7 course dinner, and the entire meal service ended up being around 4 hours long. Still a wonderful restaurant and I would recommend if you want to enjoy a evening with loved ones.
I had dinner at Senses and I was positively surprised. As someone who goes fine dining quite a bit, I must say that the food and service there surpassed some two star Michelin restaurants I've been.
All waiters were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The wine pairing was amazing and really enhanced the flavours of the food. I loved the creativity behind the dishes, stemming from the chef who lived some time in China. Loved the whole experience!

Wonderful seafood dishes… 4 days of my visit to Amsterdam i cam here 3 times.
The best kebab ever we had in our lives so far. We were starving after a flight and walking around 30min to get to our hotel, even that the portions were in a incredible size, we ate everything until feeling satisfied. We were so happy that we came back on the following day. I highly recommend this place.
The shoarma will blow your mind. The bread and lamb are so good that your tastebuds will be ruined for all other food for at least 6 days.
A neighborhood classic ! Whether for a wrap or a shaorma sandwich, always great experience.

Delicious food! The service was great as well. My boyfriend and I are hooked on this wonderful Turkish food. Definitely one of our favorite little places in Amsterdam. 🌷
