I was able to come back to Lastage after eight years and it was even better this time around. Each dish was an experience and the front staff provided the detail and some anecdotes about the dishes, and gave recommendations that were perfect for us in terms of matched wines.
The attentive and genial atmosphere makes this a fabulous restaurant to revisit. Thank you for a brilliant night.

A beautiful dining experience from start to finish. Lovely service, beautiful setting and a delightful tasting menu.

We were surprised by the gorgeous detail in each dish, and the fun incorporated to the dishes for the festive season. Flavours were superb, and the level of technique is very high. We decided this was our best meal of 2023!

I especially loved the milk and honey dessert. Thank you de Silveren Spiegel team!

Absolutely one of the best fine dining I’ve had and with the price it is so worth it! The food quality and services are unmatchable compared to NYC fine dining, basically for the price it’s impossible to get this quality anywhere else. Highly recommended!!

The prices are totally unreasonable and the stuff impolite. I paid 6€ for a TINY hot dog (they charged extra 2€ for ketchup/mustard) that was just taken off the package and put in the microwave. They served me the hot dog with the two sauces not as a topping on the hot dog but in their packages on the side, for me to add them! Zero effort made.
I didn't try the churros but I can tell they cannot be compared to the original ones.
Advice: do not go there, there are plenty of other options.
The booking was easy.. since I mentioned we are vegetarian, got a prompt call from the resturant to enquire if we are okay w mushrooms n eggs. We arrived at the restaurant 15 mins early to our reservation time.

The dinner commenced with the chef's entrée, a trio of tasters that set the stage for what is to come. I loved the third taster, a unique small ball-shaped dish with spiced liquid filled into it. As it melted in the mouth, it released delicious flavours, serving as a palate cleanser before starting the courses!

Each items were disabled out w local ingredients, I guess. The portions were small and right-sized.

The highlight of the meal was the fifth course, the main dish, the flavors were bold yet balanced, and the presentation was a visual delight.

I have a sweet tooth so a bit biased on the desserts 😅 I enjoyed the two desserts, each was delicious, well presented and flavour full… but not like a dessert from an exclusive/speciality dessert shops.

The staff were attentive, and knowledgeable, and contributed significantly to the overall dining experience.
Situated in a historic building in the centre of Amsterdam, the restaurant has a very cozy ambiance and vibe. We did a 5-course Silvester Lunch with wine pairing on the last day of 2023, and the experience was excellent. The food was great with wines that perfectly matched every dish and the service staff professional and friendly at the same time. I definitely recommend this place.
We spent 4 hours on a dinner at de Silveren Spiegel. The owners were extremely nice and our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was marvelous. It was well prepared and magnificently presented. Each dish was more creative than the last. Hands down the best dinner experience we have ever had-outdoing Michelin starred dinners we have attended! Thank you for a wonderful night!

24-12-2023 food should be more better then all day's was very simple food for the price, we never go again.
Worst decision of my life. There were no prices indicated and they charged us 45€ for three dry and cold waffles. Don't come here.
Disgusting foog, very rude service and extremely dirty
The owner was so rude to us , he almost kicked us out after only one of our friends has finished his food to free places for newly arrived clients. The portions were small and the kitchen was disgusting. I don’t recommend it at all!
Went for a year end business dinner. We booked a closed space, very elegant and cozy for the whole team.
We had a closed or pre arranged menu and the food was very good, so was the wine and coffee at the end.
The waiters, although were nice, were a bit lazy and didn’t serve us wine or were a somehow slow for everything. Nevertheless a very nice place to have a group dinner.

Nice and cosy restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam, overlooking a canal. You immediately feel a warm atmosphere and kind, attentive service as you walk in. Food, however, could use some tweaking. Oysters are great - fully recommend, but other dishes were not put together in a way that gives well rounded taste. For example, marinated tuna dish lacked complexity - red beets didn’t match so nicely and the taste was rather plain. The fish main course had dried tomatoes which were rather overpowering for the light, smooth taste of the fish - a sauce would be a better fit. Similar story with the carpaccio - salad was the focus vs the meat , which should be the highlight of this dish. The amount of salad was just too much for this dish. In this sense price quality ration was slightly off - higher price tag than quality received. Also, the overall presentation of the dishes could use some work to be more inviting. Portions are on a smaller end but leaves room for a dessert, which is nice. Selection of cheeses was decent. Nice selection of wines. Again, great service so if food improves , this would be a gem.
I’m pretty sure the meat is from rats. Ordered chicken shwamer and the greasy troll didn’t even touch the chicken skewer on display. I don’t know where my “food” came from but it was disgusting and overpriced to the point I was embarrassed walking out. Currently urinating water out my rectum as my stomach rots away. Stay away from this place. Go buy dog food from the spar and you will be more satisfied.
Update. My friend passed away last night from that filthy, diseased meat. Rip Alex I will avenge you and slay that abysmally deformed excuse of a human
Made a terrible mistake tonight popping in here for a quick kebab, the mutant behind the counter must of dragged some sort of rotten canal creature from the depths out and carved it in secret because he definitely didn't carve the decaying "meet" pole in the window.
Proceeded to have crippling stomach cramps whilst being starred and laughed at by the working girls in the windows as I hobbled home clenching my guts with tears in my eyes.

Would not go again.

Such a nice restaurant in the heart of the canal district. The view alone is breathtaking and romantic. The menu is classic with a twist, and everything we ordered was delicious. The desserts were just out of this world. Thank you David, Scott and Niels for the attentive and caring service, it was the cherry on top.

Bit of a tough review. The food overall was good, we had some dishes that we really liked. The service started out very friendly as well. The bitter pill at the end is the mistakes that were made by giving us wrong price indications and not willing to fix the bill for this. Totally fine to make mistakes, but at least fix it then in the end.

We called ahead to order durum, but when we arrived he was not willing to fulfill our oder. Big dissappointment
The restaurant is located in a charming old Dutch building, nice atmosphere inside. The dishes are a treat for the eyes, fine dining small portions but decently delicious. A lot of attention to smallest of details in every dish. Staff were friendly and efficient. Overall good experience!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had was here, it was 5 years ago, but it was life changing and I have not stopped thinking about the food since June 7th, 2018. 5 stars through and through. I got shawarma with some sort of sauce that was insanely delicious and the sauce is what I have specifically not stopped thinking about.
A wonderful spot with great vibes. Spotless and deliciously designed. Wonderful dishes with high quality ingredients and good attention to detail. Brilliant staff.

Love this place. Atmosphere is amazing with its art nouveau interior. It is also much bigger than you'd think from the outside. Staff is funny and very attentive and friendly. The entrees were delicious (crab and onion ones) and main course being muscles (Asian style sauce which was incredible) and Monk fish (perfecly cooked with a delicious buttery sauce). I would love to come back

Absolutely stunning food and great service. We really like fancy restaurants, but this one blew our mind! Big 5 stars for Coulisse
Best dining experience I have ever had. The staff made you feel like family and were extremely professional. I never had an empty glass or dull moment during our dinner.

The food was an explosion of flavor and culinary genius. Every bite was a was a journey, and paired with the sommelier’s wine choices we had a unparalleled experience.

Definitely book ahead. This is not a walk in dining kind of place. As soon as you enter the doors gears in the kitchen start turning and every portion is crafted and cooked to order. Before we knew it we had been there 3 hours without realizing time had passed. Also, get a chefs choice pairing and meal. Don’t short yourself and get the 5 course, Get the full plate size to really enjoy the experience.
A lovely experience! Great ambience, sophisticated and friendly service, and amazing food. In our view the entrees were the pinnacle - we had the burrata and the venison tartare and they were both original and absolutely delicious. However all the other courses were incredible as well. I can definitely recommend the cheese board for dessert which is well curated and very tasty. Another real highlight were the wines by the glass which were amazing - our waiter also had superb knowledge of the wine list and gave us flawless recommendations. We booked this last minute and are so happy we did.

Beautiful restaurant and professional service. For a One starred restaurant I was expecting more. The taste composition is adventurous but generally experimental and missing a punch. There is a ton of complexity involved but then you get hit by for example a very overwhelming brown butter/brown sugar mix and that would be all your taste bud can recall.
The prix menu is six course and there are two supplement presented to us. We chose the lobster supplement but forego the cheese course. Lobster is excellent.
Overall I agree with the general review that there is tremendous effort that went into it but got lost in the joy of simplicity of food.
The dinner typically lasts 3.5 hours so plan on being there for a while.

Good place of dinner with a nice selection of food and wine. The view of the canal is really beautiful, and the place is quite small, which makes it quite noisy with a lot of people talking but it wasn’t much of a problem. Still happy to have dined in here.

As a local, this is a must visit. It's an older 'concept' with a fresh new owner. This new owner completely understands hospitality. We have had amazing talks, big laughs and really amazing food. The Italian waitress was funny, and respectful. Overall experience was amazing.

The owner who also can make cocktails asked me what i wanted, and I didn't choose, so he asked 3 things and created proactively a cocktail 🍸 for me, this is how I personally want to be treated when I go out and spend (more) money than average.
WOW.
I haven’t finished yet but I wanted to make the make the review.
Its just perfect. In all sense. My new favorite in the whole country. Amazing. Can’t describe it with words. Just come and enjoy.
Have a drink at the bar first. Try the house special. Then dinner.
Better than any Michelin. No doubt.
This is one of my favourite restaurants in Amsterdam, the food is incredible and even reasonably priced for the quality and quantity, plus the service is fantastic. We got a complementary card and glass of Cava because it was my friend’s Birthday which was such a nice touch. Could not have had a better evening! Recommend the Steak Frites, truly delicious!

When I entered this restaurant, the atmosphere was great.

The food was nice as well. The sauce of the octopus was really special, soft, and creamy, which got really along with the chips.

I would like to recommend the Eringi. This was really great, the flavour from mushroom and the egg yolks were really in harmony.

Fish of the day was good as well but not that special. But the bubble-like sauce was super nice as well.

The dessert was also good but apple pie was just apple pie. Still nice, but that’s what you can expect from normal apple pie.

However, the pure chocolate was exceptional. The sauce inside it was really soft, and I still feel the aftertaste from that.

This restaurant is located at the Pulitzer Hotel, so it is easy to get from the city centre, especially from the Anne Frank Huis.

I had the pleasure of dining twice at Jansz, a restaurant nestled within the Pulitzer Amsterdam Hotel, and it was a culinary delight.

The ambience at Jansz is best described as quiet elegance, setting the perfect tone for a memorable dining experience.

The service here is excellent, with attentive staff ensuring a seamless evening. Surprisingly, the breakfast staff was even more exemplary, including a friendly, helpful and professional female host and our kind, prompt, and extremely thoughtful server. I wish I could remember their names, because they were outstanding! (To the manager, I ate breakfast with you the morning of 19 October 2023)

One of the standout features of Jansz is its sophisticated and diverse food choices. At supper time, the seafood dishes are a particular forte. However, even if you're not in the mood for seafood, their hamburger is a delicious alternative that shouldn't be overlooked.

What adds to the allure of Jansz is its unique location within the complex of Canal homes that make up the stunning Pulitzer Amsterdam Hotel, which I also highly recommend (see separate review). The restaurant provides a charming atmosphere that complements the historic surroundings of the hotel.

Moreover, when you stay at the Politzer Hotel, you're treated to a complimentary breakfast at Jansz. This breakfast is nothing short of exceptional, with a wide variety of delicious dishes made to order, including delectable omelettes, hearty oatmeal, and a selection of cheeses, among other options. However, the real star of the breakfast spread is the hot, crispy, fresh croissants that are simply delightful.

In conclusion, Jansz at the Politzer Amsterdam Hotel is highly recommended. It offers an elegant ambience, impeccable service, a diverse menu, and the added bonus of being within the beautiful Pulitzer Amsterdam Hotel. The breakfast alone is worth the visit, making this restaurant a must-visit when in Amsterdam.

I would give 0 stars if I could. They advertise churros for €1 on the screen outside the store, in the end I ended up paying €24. I asked for 2 churros and the cashier girl with braids gave me 2 bags with 20 churros. When I made her aware that this is not what I wanted and that it feels like a scam she started insulting me and was incredibly rude. I never had a experience like this anywhere, let alone Amsterdam. In the end I ended up paying because I’m not from here and there was a sketchy guy in the store, I’m assuming the girl’s colleague as well listening to the interaction. In my opinion the city needs to put a stop to places like this that ruin the experience for the tourists.

The first thing you meet in this restaurant is the staff, they don't give you time to choose what you want, they just want money from turist. You can't see the prices for the food before you pay and you can't get just food you can only get menu's, we paid 33 euros for two bad shawarmas 10 cold fries and two sodas.

A very nice dining room. Comfortable and low key. Dress code is casual neat. Menu includes several nice selections. Service was good in the beginning but as the dining room became full our server was unavailable at times. Our server was professional and cordial. I recommend trying this restaurant.
This was a huge surprise for us. For some reason, we went there expecting a soup & sandwich café for lunch. Yet, once there, we were intrigued by the soft and relaxed atmosphere and the modernized, almost sophisticated, French and Italian classic menu item. We were not disappointed!! Great place all around, especially for lunch. Classic wine list; they even accepted to open another bottle of wine (avail. at the glass) that had been opened the day before because I detected some slight (cork) defect. I am sure it is more romantic in the evening. The view is on one of the largest cacaos, but our window view was obstructed by construction barges. Highly recommended. Champagne by the glass is a must.

Fantastic restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam. Reserve a table to eat outside on the canals during warm weather with a loved one. The service was on point with knowledgeable servers and good recommendations for wine pairing. All the dishes were tasty, and even the complimentary bread was served warm and fresh (with seconds also available). Highly recommend the escargot as a starter. Overall the meal was a bit of a splurge but worth every penny- great for a romantic date night!

I did my research and came across this restaurant with great reviews. I made reservations almost a month before my visit. You don’t need to dress up for this place, but you don’t want to look too casual either. It’s a nice restaurant. Overall, the food was okay. The best thing was the tomato salad and the ravioli from the 4 dishes that we ordered. The burrata was something that we couldn’t understand – it had peaches, popcorn, raw mini corn, regular corn, and tortilla chips. We thought it was missing some kind of sauce/dressing, and we did ask about it, but our server also agreed that other customers felt the same way about the dish. The eggplant dish was pretty good. I think we were expecting more from this experience, and it could just be that it didn’t fit our taste. The service was amazing and the ambiance was really nice, with the dim lights and décor, it really fit the bill.

I have to be honest, I can't quite give this restaurant a full five stars. The presentation of the food was undeniably artistic, a visual feast for the eyes. However, when it came to taste, the dishes fell disappointingly flat. They lacked the depth of flavor that one would expect from such beautifully presented plates. Also, it truly puzzled me that a Michelin-starred restaurant would conclude the dining experience by serving tea in the form of tea bags.
It was one of the good kabab …price and quantity was good … amount of chicken was also good .. taste could be increased little bit … overall good place

Really disappointing food, wife severely allergic to mushrooms, which was stated on booking. Dish arrived with mushrooms, had to be sent back. Mine also had mushrooms, which we requested not to due to any possible contamination. My dishes had mushrooms on several courses. Wife was severely ill when she got back to the room, violently vomiting the whole night with severe pain, we had nothing else the whole day or evening so had to be cross contamination of mushroom, or extract of mushroom. This was supposed to be a special treat for her birthday and totally ruined it. Would have expected a restaurant of this price range to be more diligent with serious issues like allergies.

Wonderful Turkish restaurant with a Turkish atmosphere. Staff was kind, and speaks English. I tasted the open buffet, which was tasty. Their French fries or chips were perfectly crispy and not hard at all. One of the best fries I have ever ate. Would gladly come back.

Also the pictoure of the kebab is a big full kebab but that’s not what you get
Highly recommended. It was a great and delicious experience. Very friendly service, helpful and professional staff - good explanations of all dishes and wines- by the way, a great selection of wines-, inventive menu and all of it surrounded by a great atmosphere in a unique location. Beware! Now known as TOP CHURROS, they have lovely waffles and crepes.
There are no prices on anything, Charged 39 euro's for 1 waffle 1 crepes and 2 cans of drink, they offered no invoice or receipt.
Awesome little spot. Highly recommend for a romantic dinner date. If you can go before sunset in the summer and have a table outside you can see how the lights come on and the city changing... The Monkfish is THE item on the menu to have... Although the veggie is lovely and cooked nicely it was kind of the wrong vegetable for me to have on this lovely dish.

I had higher hopes for this place mainly because I ate there a couple of times many years ago and back then the food, service and cost were good. I have been back twice this week and, both times, I was not as satisfied with everything like I was before. The food is OK but not worth the price you pay for it, the portions are medium for what you pay and the cold service vibe doesn't really help.
Tiene una carta de no más de cinco opciones por tiempo, las personas son muy pequeñas y el precio es un poco elevado. La calidad es perfecta la presentación impecable el sabor delicioso. No es un lugar para ir con niños

Pretentious is actually the short version of this review. The service of the lady who served this evening (Saturday) did her very best. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing and I think the price-quality ratio is far out of proportion. The oysters, turbot (supplement) and the friandise were good. The summer truffle with the potato dish (also supplement) was not an added value. This dish consisted of an upturned half potato with sauces artfully draped. At the beginning of the dinner, no apperative was offered and the bread came in way too thick slices somewhere halfway. Strange order. The wines were good, but the non-alcoholic alternatives lacked inspiration. The same was the case with the vegetarian main dish. A mushroom in a semi-crispy crust between a sea of flowers and a bell pepper roll (that one was yummy). But I didn't finish the dish. The desserts (including ice cream topped with some honey dashes) were a disappointment. And all of this for almost 300 euros. - changed this review slightly after an E-mail of Simon -

We enjoyed a magical slow lunch at Brasserie Ambassade, overlooking the canal. We were blessed to receive a window table to soak up the views we are all too familiar with and love in Amsterdam.

Brasserie Ambassade is the warmest restaurant where the team make you feel at home, and we felt like we were part of the family within minutes. The food and wine were exceptional and very affordable.

A fixed-price lunch for an amicable price will help with the decision-making, and you can sample the exquisite cuisine. Take your time perusing the wine menu over a glass of champagne, as they have an excellent selection of premium wines.

Wonderful variety in textures and tastes, perfectly cooked and incredibly fresh vegetables and fish the hostess Lisja is the chef’s wife and is lovely and knowledgeable. The two young fresh-faced waiters did their job admirably. The place is relaxed and warmly elegant. Great find in a lovely neighbourhood.

It was cheap and delicious food. When you eat meat you feed the taste of meat. Workers are very kind. It was pleasure to eat there. I recommend for middle low budged.

Ordered lamb shawarma, was eatable. I visited when the place was not busy so not bad experience. Meat portion looked OK until I looked under and saw it covering more fries. Worst part is that he didn't tell me it's only cash until after, so I'm giving only 3 star. He ended excepting my card anyways.

I liked my experience at Coulisse. Flavors were fresh and refined and the plates were beautifully presented.
Service was OK.

Highly recommended by our Uber driver. My 1st time having Turkish food. The Grilled Chicken was seasoned and grilled to perfection. Others on my party enjoyed the chicken wings.

Definitely a star-worthy restaurant. The dishes were not only delicious, but also beautiful, exciting and surprising at the same time. The non-alcoholic pairing was refreshing, never saw it before and the drinks really matched the dishes. We are not much of a fan of natural wines unfortunately while these played a key role in the menu. The menu was excellent and we really enjoyed all courses! The crew was very welcoming and friendly, but would benefit from a good sommelier on their side. A must-try fine dine experience.

Every now and then you find a restaurant that just blows you away, a place that makes memories for life. This is one of them.

The personal, casual service; the welcoming atmosphere; the carefully crafted wine pairing. It’s all clearly in service of the overwhelmingly delicious food.

Take your time when you come here, because five courses turned into ten and each one deserves your attention. I enjoyed every minute and will be back as soon as possible!
Very bad experience here, dry buns for Falafel sandwich. Tasteless shawarma and pasta.

The staffs aren't the best with customers too. I wish I read up (review) here before heading there.

Ate here with work and 20 people. Was a true experience. Top class restaurant with great and original dishes and fair prized wines. Excellent and attentive service.

Fantastic one Michelin star restaurant in the center of Amsterdam! Ate here several times over the last years and quality has always been amazing where the head chef Rogier creatively combines local ingredients. The wine selection is great as well with the possibility of having a bottle or engaging on a fill wine arrangement. It's a small restaurant so be sure to make a reservation.

I know that the most reviews are bad but my experience was nice. We taste one pizza with kebab and one falafel wrap 🥙. Both of them were really tasty and in good portion for its price. The owner were friendly and offer us even free water. I think is a good place for cheap door in AMS 🌆 center

Took us on a journey of senses with a wonderful wine pairing. Loved the passion of the owners and the dedicated personal service
Superb food with an amazing service and a true eye for detail. What a divine experience! The duck was extremely well cooked and they have a truly surprising wine selection. The view and the desserts are memorable as well

I dined here on Thursday evening, the place wasn't very crowded neither empty.

There was a young lady behind the counter with "No smile" asking what I want to order. The most basic thing is to offer a menu, but she didn't. I picked up one randomly from a table.

Obviously all the names are either in Dutch or Turkish, so I didn't know what I am going to order. I opened Google maps and I just pointed out what I liked based on a photo.

The order was served in 15-20 min, I sat outside, and the same lady delivered the food for me. I paid upfront, but I didn't get a receipt, neither I was asked if I want a receipt.

The food was good to average. The portion was generous, but the cost was also higher than average. For the dish shown below and tea, I paid 18 euros in cash. Because they don't accept any international cards (except Meastro).

Nice and small place, kebab in tortilla was very good, great garlic sauce.
Hot one was a bit too strong. Meat was amazing, just what kebab meat needs to be. Only objection is amount of green salad inside.
More meat, less greens(kebabwise only).

Amazing place offering awesome food even though the covid times. Menu changes every week. Food is nicely packaged and tastes like something out of this world. We love it

The staff is good. The food on the buffet on the other hand is mostly cheap. You don't have a big choice of food and there are no free drinks. Also you have only 2 desserts to choose form. So for the price of €16 it's not really worth.

What a stellar experience at Lastage! We opted for the eight course “flight” of food, and it blew our minds. Absolutely delicious, intricate and inventive dishes, and an amazing wine selection to accompany it.

Service was really great as well.
No bread while you wait if you are taking out. They gave the bread at the end with my food. I And the appetizer I ordered was salad and took a long time. The lamb chops tasted a low quality or it is perhaps they were not cooked medium as I ordered. The lamb was well done. I wouldn't recommend for lamb chops or in general. Not the friendliest place either.

Very nice kebab shop (maker) in the center of Amsterdam, in one of the most popular streets of the downtown!
very kind helpful personal working there, price enough reasonable being in one of the most expensive cities or capitals of Europe and even the world!
really was a nice experience i give 4 👍

Visiting this gem now for many years! And by far this is my favourite place to go for a celebration and food experience. Lemon pie with olive ice cream, octopus, great wine and service! Perfect!

This was out first Michelin dining experience and wow, what a way to start off. We were there for a good 3-4 hours and didn't even realize how long we had been there until we saw the time. The staff explained the entire menu, location is a quick walk from Centraal station, and the interior is just out of this world. Now, the food. You just have to try it, IT IS AMAZING! There is no way I can do justice to the food in words, it really is that good.

Cosy Michelin starred restaurant. It is not like those who over-do interior nor a pretentious place but more casual relaxing dining place. Meals were tasty and the service was friendly yet professional. Overall very good dining experience but not super impressive compared to other star restaurants. Price-wise quite good value for a star restaurant.

Unbelievable experience. We went in with a plan of the 5 course and transitioned into the 7 course dinner. They also brought numerous transition plates in between the courses. The portions were just right. I also encourage the wine pairing or half glass pairings (if you are driving!!!!). They were very knowledgeable about the wines , the regions and more and they were truly a perfect pairing for each course. The service was also fantastic. One of my favorite restaurants in the world now!

Splendid food and friendly staff. Simple interior. Chicken with mushroom sauce is great. Adana a bit too spicy.

This place is fabulous, great service, lovely staff - amazing experience- 6 stars!! But only 5 available ;) I have decided to add tom this review because it wasnt the best review. The location was tucked away on a bacj street - as are most jewels in Amsterdam, the hosts were very congenial and explained the gastronomic journey very well, suggesting fabulous wines to compliment a wonderful journey of tantalising taste sensations. Simply put you must visit this restaurant. you wont be dissapointed.
Interesting concept, I think the food is alright sadly there is not much choice of food for my taste in the all you can eat sector. They were super friendly though and the place is quite cute and tidy.
