These guys know how to do chips. They just know, no way to explain it other than they just know something we don't!
The chips here are absolutely gorgeous, crunchy and golden and very nice portion sizes. They have all the typical sauces too, but the one try is War. Which is peanut butter, mayo and onions. They call it War as the flavours are 'fighting each other'. We would have gone for seconds, even thirds if the queue hadn't extended round the corner!
We did have to wait a few minutes as there was a huge school group who had mass ordered ahead of us, but as soon as they had passed through we were in and out within maybe 15 seconds. This being ordering to having our chips in our hands!
This place is amazing, I can't wait to come back and eat more war chips!

Endangerment of customers, defamation and wrongful deduction of deposit
I would have liked to tell you that this experience went off without a hitch, but that was without taking into account the endangerment of my person by not checking the standard of the smoke detectors, a false accusation without proof of an act of vandalism and a wrongful deduction of the deposit.
We arrived in a clean room with no problems whatsoever, just a small piece of cloth on the ceiling. Not having identified it directly as anything abnormal I didn't report it on the first day. At the end of my stay, I was accused of having put a sock on the smoke detector. Of course, I denied this, as I was in no way the perpetrator of this act of vandalism. However, my word was called into question with every call, every e-mail exchanged AND I was robbed - and I do mean robbed - of the deposit I had paid at the start of my stay. No proof was provided that I was the author of this act, yet my deposit was improperly and dishonestly deducted. How is the deduction of a deposit justifiable, since nothing was stolen, broken or damaged during my stay (which is what a deposit is for)? An act of vandalism like putting a sock on a smoke detector is extremely dangerous and reckless, but I don't have to pay for the actions of others. My word has never been heard.
The team and management preferred to question my word rather than admit that there had been a failure in their protocol for cleaning and checking rooms. If you can't ensure that the room is up to standard before renting it out, then there's a problem. I didn't want to take legal action because I know it would be long, costly and complicated as I don't live in Amsterdam. Nevertheless, I could have filed a complaint for personal endangerment, since it hadn't been checked before my arrival that the smoke detector was up to standard, for defamation and for misuse of the deposit.
I had to accept a 50/50 compromise because as a student I can't afford to write off €150. However, I find this situation absolutely outrageous on principle. My advice to you is to stay away from this company and find other accommodation.

After trying different fries thinking ‘how hard cooking fries could be, they all had to taste the same’; our theory was proven to be wrong. Vleminckx is definitely superior. I had the sate sauce, and as an indonesian, the sate sauce did not disappoint. I also mixed it with garlic sauce and sometimes mayo. The staff are also lovely and allowed me to pay .50 cents for extra sauce!

Was thinking just a localized pizza and just came for a convenience reason in our living neighborhood. Surprisedly tasty pizza and dessert, plus good service! Will come back again!

Great place to eat Chinese cuisine on a high level. They have a lot of variation of dishes of the menu. Also a lot of high quality Chinese teas. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was really good.
The Location is on west part of Amsterdam, easy to get anywhere with public transportation. There are view supermarkets near. Safe neighborhood.

As you may know, there is no such way to do rocket cience with potatoes, so the french fries itself is the best you can have as all good places with minimum knowledge: warm and well cooked inside and crispy outside.
However, the staff is super friendly and they have a thousand of different sauces to try. Therefore you can escape from your old boring traditional mayo!

The NICEST FRIED Rice!!! (order number 632).
Such a large portion of rice and protein. We did have to wait a little to be seated but the customer service from our waitress was great so it wasn’t an issue. Will definitely be returning next time I visit Amsterdam!!

This is a VERY popular Surinamese Chinese restaurant in central Amsterdam. I visited two times while I was there, and I really enjoyed the noodle dishes. The Indian dishes with roti were nothing special, but I would go back just to eat the spicy noodles with homemade sambal.
Really really good food and service. We stopped by as a party of 8 and had the bruscetta to start. The pizzas were all freshly made and really tasty. Great service and atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
This fry stand is pretty good! There wasn’t too much of a crowd during the times that we passed by so we decided to try it one night when the other place down the street was extremely backed up. The service here was a little spotty and we ended up getting something we didn’t order. That said, what we got was still really good and we did enjoy it. The fries were cooked a little longer than other Flemish Fries establishments so if you like yours a little crispier this might be the place for you.

Being in the harbour the main part of the food is fish based but I did manage to find some steak 🥩 and omg it was mouth watering prob the best stake I’ve had in Amsterdam by far!

It was an unpleasant experience. The waitress tried to move the table while we were still drinking saying that they had another reservation and that we had to leave. That wasn’t stated before we sat down. We were basically kicked out without reason, so don’t count on staying for the the whole party unless you plan to spend a lot of money (at least what they think is a lot of money).
My 7 friends and I sat down around 7pm and got kicked out an hour later before the party even started with the explanation that they had anoter reservations for someone else. Don’t count on this place if you want to have a good time.
Me and my friends had realy bad experience at this club. We were litteraly kicked out at 10 pm, because they had reservation that they didn't mention that existed. We had our tables moved and our drinks taken away by rude waitress. Try other clubs, and avoid this one.

Amazing food near the Vondelpark. Feel a little like in Italy while being in Amsterdam!
Heard this was the fry spot to go to in Amsterdam. To be honest, the fries are about the same from anywhere in the Netherlands, same crispiness, same texture, same everything. But what was cool about this place was the 29 different sauces they had. Some of the ones that intrigued me was Joppie sauce, Piccalilly sauce, citroen mayonaise, hannibal sauce, green pepper sauce. Ultimately I ended up going with the Truffle Mayonaise. Solid portion of the sauces and I would go here again. Pretty long line but we got to the front within 10 minutes.

I hope that before booking for this hotel at booking that you come here and read reviews because they are the absolute truth about this hotel. Here is my own review:
I highly do not recommend this hotel at all to anybody especially if you're coming with family. At the entrance of the hotel on both sides is a smoking area where people were smoking with reckless abandon without consideration to children or pregnant women or even people who are non-smokers, so be prepared to be greeted with smoke.
It is mainly occupied by suspicious looking young men which was not a problem if the door could be locked from the inside. The young man at the reception told us that they don't allow the doors to be locked from the inside which means anything could happen to you or your family when inside.
The room was not cleaned, as a matter of fact it did not look like they cleaned the place after the previous guest left the place. We still asked the young man at the reception and he proudly told us that the rooms were cleaned every 8 days! which sounded bizarre! The heating was not controlled and we saw a very big mosquito inside. No slippers were provided considering the fact that the floor is a concrete floor. Bathrobes were not provided as well.
We left the hotel the following day even though we booked to stay for 6 nights because we can't jeopardize our safety for money and the girl at the reception did not bother to ask why we checked out so early even though we still had 5 more nights booked.

We had a great time at Oceania restaurant. In particular we came for the fish head curry which was delicious.
We had a company dinner here and food took so long to come out and the waitresses were pretty rudely asking for drink orders. I did have to leave before the whole dinner was done but the courses i did have were definitely dissapointing both for the taste and size. Now espescially looking at the normal menu items and the food sizes i feel like what we got was widely different…
We were staying at a penthouse (maybe other rooms are better, I only refer to my experience). The pictures on the web page look gorgeous, but be careful: they have different types of rooms (which apparently differ from what you see online). This was our case — the penthouse had a bed right by the entrance with no walls/doors or anything. The floors were cold, no slippers provided. It had an open balcony (last floor), but smoking was forbidden. Left confused, and won't recommend to anyone.
We had one bad experience here about a month ago, where we were seemingly forgotten about. The manager reached out to us and explained the situation, while offering to make it up to us. We gave it another try last night, and the manager and staff made sure we had a much better dinner.
The food is always good, and last night the service was excellent. Our food arrived promptly, and the waiter was very patient with our 3 young kids. Thank you to the staff, we will continue to come here.

i had the pizza spinaci and was impressed by the quality of the ingredients, you could really taste how fresh and tender it was! i also tried a slice of the fungi and the mushrooms were the same, amazing taste. i would definitely recommend this place, especially for the price!
Best fries I had in Amsterdam for sure that mayonnaise was fresh fries were bite to crispy and soft inside . Perfectly salted makes u wanna just keep eating served fresh everyday.
Saw a decent number of people crowd near the store, so was intrigued to try their fries and sauce. To my surprise, I was delighted by the experience. The flemish fries are perfectly cooked, has a great texture and retains the crunch after every bite. The highlight for me were their wide range of sauces. I chose the garlic mayo and it was great. On the flip side, my friends decided to have the famous "cheese sauce". It was a disappointment. They had to throw away the fries :( It was cold and tasted bad. I'd recommend the garlic mayo, truffle mayo and joppi sauce!

To be honest, a good place with the worst service ever! We ordered shots, that you normally have to see burned by the bar. So, 1/4 of my hair was completely burned down by the candle next to this bar once we came to see the “performance”. I needed to go to the restroom to check on my hair but when came back, the bartender did not even try changing the shot that I have ordered and that had its wiped cream completely off because I left for a while before drinking it. Like this is normal that I had to take care of myself in the restroom and the bartender does not even try to make my experience better in this place. There was nothing that staff did to make up for the issue I have got. I got so scared that I had fire around me, but no one helped me and moreover I had to even pay for the drinks that could not even be renewed after the situation I have got. I spent 5 years growing my hair, which was ruined by one candle by the bar and nothing and no one in this place convinced me that this was a terrible mistake..

The tasting menu is amazing. Well worth the price
Very good hand tossed pizza, very cozy and nice environment on 3 levels. They even have their own IPA made from the same yeast as the pizza - pairs very well.
I went there after hearing a friend raved about the terrific food. I went alone and didn’t have a reservation, but they were kind enough to accommodate me. I chose the Sultan and I, 4 course meal option. Each of the food items were perfect size, wonderfully flavorful and beautifully presents. The Indian surprise was in the dessert.
What made the experience even more enjoyable was my server, Abu, he was attentive and patiently explained what each item were and how to best to eat them to experience the full flavors.

The club was very good! The bar staff in particular were very friendly, which is not usual. Special requests for drinks and more are definitely fulfilled in this club.
We ordered Gialla with Nduja. The pizza arrived without Nduja - which is the main topping of the pizza. We asked uber eats for a refund but uber eats said we had no right to a refund. Also, the pizza dough was soaked with the water from burrata. Normally

I had the pleasure of dining at this unique restaurant that combines Indonesian, and Dutch flavors. The rijstaffel was a delightful journey through various dishes, and the grilled watermelon was a surprisingly delicious highlight. The edible flower Szechuan in the dessert was a delightful touch that added to the overall experience. What truly stood out, though, was the excellent service. The staff's attention to detail and friendly demeanor made the evening truly memorable. I highly recommend this restaurant for a one-of-a-kind culinary adventure.
The food came really fast. The pork was delicious but my fried rice was little bit hard not fluffy. Seems like they just heat the rice on microwave.
This Surinamese Chinese restaurant is located just 400m from Amsterdam Centraal station. It has a huge seating area inside. We ordered Moksie Meti with Rice and Sauce and Surinamese Fried Rice with Roasted Pork. The service was really quick, and both the foods were delicious. Here, you can get dishes that can fill up your stomach for under €10. The portion size was also good. We also ordered a pot of Chinese tea, but the only negative I found was that I felt the smell and the quality of the tea were not up to the mark.
Their food is okay-good, nothing special, but satisfying. The prices is actually cheap considering it is located on a competitive location. The super fast serving is definitely a highlight! It was super fast that my little boy didn’t even get the chance to throw tantrums

We came across it while looking for a quick pizza place on the road. Their pizzas are delicious, I definitely recommend them. The employees are caring and friendly.
We were a large table and our waitress was doing a fantastic job of serving us and everyone else. But had to keep asking for food and drinks. Those delivering the food wouldn’t take orders for anything else. Good looked amazing but wasn’t hot, guinea fowl was very chewy and tough. Bouillabaisse looked amazing but hardly any fish and it was cold. Sadly not impressed although top waitress!!

Die Brühe war dünn, die Nudeln geschmacklos und 2/3 Fleischsorten waren ungenießbar. Nicht nur zu hart, sonder auch geschmacklich unangenehm. Ich würde abraten dort Essen zu gehen.
Small little bistro (mb seating 40) with wonderful Indonesian food. I didn't have the rijstafel as usually you can't when dining solo in Indonesian restaurants. Nicely decorated. I had the rabbit satay with grilled watermelon as an appetizer. Delicious and inventive. The main course was sumatran spicy prawns, served with yellow rice, vegetables and pickled vegetables. Dessert was Indonesian cake, spices with cinnamon and cardamom, sides of fruit and fruit ice.
Great fries done fast and hot. Walk up, tell them what sauces you want, and within seconds you'll have a large cone of hot fresh fries in your hand to enjoy. Don't forget your fry fork and napkin!

Occasionally we come across places that we can say just blindly get in and enjoy. This is one such rare place. Don't look at the size or the way it looks and walk back. Trust and try. It was unfortunate that we fell in love with their antipasti and salads, and just could not get past them to reach their main course. The pizzas were looking so inviting. But due to a tiny space left in our tummies by then, we decided to ditch them and go for their panna cotta. It is a small place run by people who love to cook tasty food casually without any show off (like we see in Italian traditional homes), and love to serve. They are so happy that we are happy. Excellent value for money, subtle prices. After having touched almost every one of their starters, two white wines, two panna cottas and coffees, we paid only 120€. So, what are you waiting for, just go!

Very nice quiet place with plenty of space. It is only about 20-30 minutes by tram to the hustle and bustle of the more touristic areas. We felt it was nice to come back to a quiet place further out. Original picture in booking is misleading and is for the more expensive suite as the least expensive suite for 4 is only semiprivate with 1/2 wall between bed and pullout couch. It does show this at booking. Also, can turn off lights with a switch without turning off AC as someone complained. If you take out your room key from entry, the AC and lights will go off. I think they do specify that room service is only once a week. We enjoyed having a table to have breakfast. There are a few markets nearby to pick up things for breakfast. The area felt safe and is ethnically diverse. I love that they let some of the grassy areas grow wild.

Very good fries with a wide variety of sauces to choose from, some tasty sides like the cheese croquettes and the chicken burger, and right portions. Good prices and good location. Worth trying!

Family dinner under one of hottest Amsterdam weather of the year and the foods are surprisingly good: pizza, dessert Panna Cotta and affogato with amaretto👍👍👍
I am not a pizza lover but since it is walking distance from home and that my guests love pizzas, I decided to give it a try !! And I am not disappointed at all and all the staff is kind and caring. Recommend it as all I tried was delicious and reasonably priced considering the area.
Some of the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. If you are visiting Amsterdam I highly recommend. Service was spectacular as well. My extremely picky 7 year old made me eat there 3 times on a 3 1/2 day trip. The treated him like a king and even made an extra table when we came back the third time on a night when the restaurant was packed. Great wine list. Solid beer list. Presentation looks like the pictures that are usually reserved for just the menu. 2023 prices you can expect about €30‐45 per person with drinks. Would travel back to Amsterdam just to eat there.

Huge variety on the menu, very quick service and the food is pretty tasty. Great value for money, not going to find anything better with similar dishes in that regard nearby. Just a bit disappointed they wouldn't serve any tap water when asked.
Tried their vegan twist on the Pizza Caponata with extra mushrooms instead of anchovies, plus whole burrata cheese ball. Mind-blowingly good - top-tier pizza for sure!

My Nan lived in Amsterdam years ago and as I grew up, when she would talk about it, she would also talk about Oceania and it’s amazing food and service. This year we were able to visit this wonderful restaurant and it was confirmed that my Nan has never lied to me! The food was absolutely delicious and the staff made us feel like royalty. Coming to Oceania was the highlight of our trip and I look forward to coming back to Amsterdam to revisit this restaurant! ❤️

We come Benelux tour in Holland. We saw potatoes and waited cash desk. Potatoes very big and so tasty but it need little more salt. I wood recommend.
In the RAI Exhibition Centre district with its multitude of small informal restaurants, Oceania is a Chinese oasis, founded in 1978 by the Chan family. We used to come here 40 years ago when we lived in Amsterdam.
The restaurant has been extended, renovated and gone upmarket since those early days but the food is still varied and very good.

Incredible! Service was so friendly, attentive, and warm. We loved the food, especially the seafood stew and the three mains for the 75 euro set menu. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough!!
Conveniently located and difficult to miss hotspot for fries! We got a medium sized cone to share among two people, with peanut sauce. The fries were served quickly in a classic paper cone, and the warm peanut sauce was generously added. Overall, I feel like the fries themselves were just okay. Maybe it was just the day we went, but they didn't taste super fresh and weren't as crispy on the outside/soft on the inside as we thought they would be, based on the other reviews here. The servers were super friendly, though - the staff happily switched to English and were patient with the huge line. The peanut sauce was an absolute knockout and definitely a must-try if you like peanut flavours/peanut butter, it was the perfect balance of sweet and savoury, with a little spicy (but not too spicy!) kick at the end.

Extremely large amount of drinks and shots. They did forget out order a couple times but asking again wasnt an issue for me. But i am 99% sure that they gave us the wrong shot in our second order, it was still tasty tho. The shots were between 2-4 euros so they were pretty fairly priced!
Nice cozy pizza place. Make sure to ask for allergens menu if you have allergies. I liked sitting on top near the window.
It looks like a popular place on the street, very close to the Dam square. I didn't wait too long, I was there on a Sunday evening. I just wish the service person was a little more friendly. Apart from that, it was a fast and warm service. The potatoes were in the consistency and I only preferred ketchup sauce. Even the small size is very satisfying, I could never finish a larger portion.

Giving one star because I have to, otherwise this was probably the worst lunch I ever had in Amsterdam. It took a good 45 minutes for the food to arrive, and guess what- it was cold. And not only that, but the poached eggs were anything but poached. Tasteless and overcooked, with a really unappealing sauce on top, ah basic white bread and a minuscule portion of fries for which you pay 18e. Fish and chips also cold (and the fish was full of bones). Definitely not recommended.
We came here twice!! The fries were good, the sauce was excellent (I tried the cheese one, and I'm holding the medium size in the picture). The only thing, the service was a bit meh the first time we visited. I think the lady is used to tourists and does her job automatically (don't blame her, really, but makes your experience a bit less special).
Mooi restaurant met tafels beneden en boven. Er is ook een kapstok boven wat erg fijn is. Akoestiek is redelijk. Als het druk is wordt het wel wat rumoerig. De bediening is bijzonder vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het eten is van uitstekende kwaliteit. Lekkere pizza’s. De huisgemaakte limoncello is een absolute aanrader. We komen hier zeker nog een keer terug.

I picked the first Saturday of the month to go there especially for the singing and dancing , it was nice atmosphere but it felt like more a place for older generations/family to gather and the performances were not so good .
Food was good but not like impressed that I need to go again definitely! grilled fish was probably grilled , so still soft and juicy but it wasn’t sea bass, so quite a lot of bones .

My friends and I came for dinner, and the staff was amazing!!! So friendly and everyone at the bar is as well. The food to share took awhile to be served, and everything came out slowly and 1 by 1 (which is why I’m giving 4 stars) I would recommend go straight for ordering from the dinner menu because it was much better. But the drinks and all the variety of shots were the best part of our night😍🥳
Located at one of the busiest business districts in Amsterdam,and at the walking distance from World Trade Center, the place offers great outdoor sitting and good variety of pizzas and pastas. Friendly service and good quality food, with a pretty good variety of wine, beer, and other drinks. Don't forget to take a walk up the Valley, the architectural beauty of the area, can't miss it once you are there.
Lovely atmosphere inside with nice decorations, good tables and music just loud enough to enjoy it. Staff is friendly and professional. The menu is big enough that there should be something for everyone. We had lemon chicken and honey chicken, both were amazing. Lemon chicken especially stood out with a really nice texture, will definitely be going back for that. My only complaint is that there were a lot of flies around our table that kept trying to get in our drinks.
Not easy to find real Chinese food in AMS, but this is definitely the place to be. Amazing food with the original taste, professional service and pleasant location.

By far one of the most disappointing Greek restaurants I have ever been to. Despite very friendly staff, the food is really nothing to enjoy. We had several dishes. All meat pieces were dry. The fries were undercooked inside. Even the feta was tasteless. Hopefully it was the only time they did it that bad.
Best chinese restaurant in Amsterdam. Oyster was fresh and great seasoning. Dessert was awesome. If you like spicy try their chili in yellow colour.
