The place used to be great and the drs are lovely when you can finally get an appointment. Sat in waiting room for over 35 minutes past my appointment time. Could see no reason as to why as I was 10 mins early also and the only one in the waiting room to begin with. Let's face it when you see the drs coming and going with coffees its extension of breaks . Trying to ring in the morning is also a joke to wait on hold for 45 minutes to speak to the receptionist ( onebis lively. Th other needs reyrained on attitude) then have to wait all morning for a call back. I don't want to have to wait in a call line to speak to the Dr about an ongoing problem when I should Be able to book an appointment for in advance and not ring as an emergency. The whole world has had to go back to normal after covid Why are the surgeries not
Hard to get to see somebody, you can’t walk in and get an appointment as others state. There’s only a short windows to phone in to try to see a GP and if you miss it you have to try again the following day. Staff is pleasant but quite inflexible when it comes to seeing someone
I love this place and have been coming here for years, The GPs have always been great, environment peaceful, however there is one receptionist who treated my mum very poorly yesterday (2nd November around 5:10) she was on her phone and wouldn’t book my mum an appointment even though she had walked 25 mins to get to the GP, rudely telling her she’d need to come back again as the system was “full” I was just able to book her an appointment there so I can’t understand why she was unable to or why she was so nasty, seemed she just wanted to sit on her phone.
Excellent doctors and staff.

If I could vote less than 1 star I would. Have to phone through all the time now since covid because its the perfect excuse for doctors not to work. Call takes hundreds(not joking) of attempts to go through because their queue system is only 6 or so people long. When you finally get through they say no call backs available and to call back at 8:30 the next day. I started calling before that every time I try calling. Pathetic.
Receptionist has no comprehension. Told me I had to register with a gp in Wales whilst at uni as I was 'no longer a resident'. Made it seem like I was wasting their resources. I understand this is commonplace, but I require bloods to be taken annually, something requested by the Royal. How hard is it to fit me in for an appointment whilst I'm home for a week?
Called at 8.30 sharp. 42 minutes later the phone was answered only to be rudely told that there are no appointments left for the day. What a pathetic, useless and inefficient appointment system. The only way to see a GP in this place is to pay privately, who can afford that in a cost of living crisis.
Very polite staff and doctors.. 4 stars just because you need to wait for your call to be connected..
Great staff & doctors. Efficient in how they operate. Can't recommend this practice enough!

Impossible to get an appointment. Receptionist don't want to know. Finally got through after an hour of the line being busy and they hung up on me. Just to think we pay these peoples wages
Very unprofessional system and receptionist. Called the health centre at 11am sharp for 3 days this week and the line was on hold for nearly 30 mins every time. When they finally pick up, first thing the receptionist says was there wasn’t any availability left. I’m just really curious, how many people was able to talk to them before me since I called at 11 sharp?
What can I say firstly there's one good doctor in this surgery and its doctor Wilson honestly he is a true doctor and has he's patients best interests at heart . My partner is currently in prison and doctor Henderson has said to the prison he's not a patient basically lied. when our son was born he only got hes 8 week vaccine we refused the others she then rang the social service's. my son was absolutely fine happy healthy. just because we refused the vaccine I thought that would be the end of it now my partner has went into prison and he couldn't get he's medication because Dr Henderson has said he's not a patient shes also said i know peopledont know what that means. I've never met this woman in my life neither has my partner til we joined dundonald medical centre I'm pregnant at the minute I've enough stuff going on and I also have to deal with unreasonable doctor's it doesn't matter whether you like a patient or not they still a patient treat your patients with respect and kindness. The whole surgery needs better staff that actually care thier patients.
Great practice. Has always been helpful getting myself and family appointments when necessary. From the reception staff to the doctors, everyone is great
One star is far too high, doctor talks over you rudely raising his voice having the assumption that the patient they're talking to has the mental capacity of an infant and abruptly hangs up the phone not looking to resolve the issue
Just tried for over an hour to get through. Was number 5 in queue for well over 20 mins then receptionist suddenly came on and said all appointments fully booked! I don't understand why you just cannot make an appointment without a GP having to ring you back. I don't mind waiting to be seen for a couple of weeks as
not overly urgent!! Just dreadful
If I could give 0, I would. I was never able to speak with my GP in one year and a half. I had chest pain and respiratory problems due to a flu for weeks, tried to call and never got a call back
Worst drs in the world reception staff are so so rude and cheeky drs are completely useless as ‘no appointments’ trying to get an app for my mum who’s in her 60’s not into phones and you’ve to send pictures before a dr will even speak to you after waiting 35 mins on hold to get threw for them to do not a thing and it’s the same everytime you phone the reception staff have the worst customer service I’ve ever had to deal with
Wish I could give a 0 stars. My 2 year old has been in A&E twice now and is having severe reactions to something been sick on and off for 4 weeks. I put off phoning because you're on hold for, at the very least, 45mins. I couldn't put it off any longer as hospital doctors told me to take her to GP for further tests.

I called this morning at 10am took over 100 redials to even get through. 45min long wait to talk to a receptionist who said 'no more appointments' she said try again tomorrow from 8:30. Not everyone has time to stay on the phone for over an hour.

Is it any wonder A&E is full, everything over the phone it would take them 10mins to call me. Continuing to hide behind covid is not an excuse as none of the reception staff have been wearing masks for 2 years.
Impossible to get an appointment. Clearly they have too many patients for the amount of staff. It's just very frustrating trying to phone every day and when you are lucky to get through you have to wait in a queue for at least 30 mins and all appointments are gone.
Day number 1 - receptionast will say to call tomorrow morning as they are full
Day numer 2 - called 4 times in the morning but wont answer the phone, called at past 2 and receptionest says I have to call in the morning.
Day number 3 - call and they line says "they have reached the full capacity of calls ". What a joke. I think its time their system changes aswell as their receptionists.
Friendliest, most helpful people I have ever seen.

Just moved to the area and had some administrative problems with my prescription. The staff was very helpful and understanding. I really don’t understand why people rate this practice low. Even though they were busy as ever they took care of me like they’ve known me for years.
I have been with this GP practice for over 16 years and have been well looked after all that time
How do the receptionists get away with being so unhelpful and aggressive?!
Also charging £15 for an NHS worker to get a sick line is unethical if you ask me.
When questioned why you get a robotic response of "there was a text message sent informing the patient of the charge". Clearly doesn't answer the question. Why not just get robots to do the job if you're going to have staff with no people skills.
This is only one of many interactions that have left me seething over the years.
Why continue to use this practice? Hubby says the GP he's seen has been good.
The GPs might be enjoying the gatekeeper effect but do they not care about the humans being spoken to in this manner?
It can take a long time calling the practice and waiting in the queue to get a call with a GP, but that seems to be the case everywhere nowadays. Once I have made it through to a GP they’ve been very informative, considerate and helpful.
- Parking can be difficult
+ There’s a pharmacy downstairs
Everything is black and white to me.
Thanks to all the doctors and staff.
They work hard and doing over time.
Sorry, don't appreciate what youz do.
If I could give -100, I would definitely do so! The Receptionists! I’ve never met such rude and unreasonable people! The receptionists are nightmare! They treated you like rubbish, no matter how serious your situation is, they will never give you any appointments! Every time, I need to phone the number straight from 8:30, and waited at least 30 - 60 mins until they ever picked up. All receptionists from the junior to senior even the manager, they were absolutely rubbish! The supervisor did little to offer a solution to the problem.
The doctors are very nice and reasonable, but you need to get through the evil receptionists before you can meet the angels!
If there were Awards handed out to the worst GP surgery in Northern Ireland, Dundonald surgery would be a clear favourite. This place has it got so bad it is basically become just a dispensing pharmacy now.

It's virtually impossible to see any doctor or get talking to one. As a member for almost 20 years, I've watched this place slide into complete disarray.

You have half an hour on the phone between 8:30 and 9am to get through to speak to a doctor... It's like trying to win the lottery. The odds of even getting through to the receptionist, (let alone speak to a GP) are stacked against you. You can ring for 5 days in a row and never even get through.

Covid was the best thing ever happened to this surgery, it has allowed the doctors to hide away from the public (they are still doing it) and make it virtually impossible now to speak to, or see a doctor. The surgery is a disgrace.
Takes forever to get through on phone and if you walk in staff are chatting and laughing and phones are ringing. You can only use car park if you have an actual appointment, not for collecting prescriptions.
Just the best,my wife and sons and their families are with other doctors, have issues with them, I have to say Castlereagh Medical Centre is head and shoulders above them all. Thank you to all Doctors and Staff ...Super Service
I went to see a doctor today. I have pain in my body. And other small problems such as headache, tinnitus, convulsion, itching and coughing need to tell the doctor. However, he told me only 10 minutes for each person and only one problem can be checked one time. I call GP lines for many times and after several months I finally got an appointment! Now he tell me that I get 10 minutes and only one problem can be checked?! Do you know how difficult to access the call center? How much time did I spend on call? Do you know every time I was told the schedule is full, there is no more chance to get appointment? Disappointed!
I have talked to many people about their doctors and I'm so glad I belong to this practice. I have always found staff to be very friendly and efficient and doctors who really care.
Updated review:
UHC recinded shared care agreement for everyone with an Amber list prescription and this has left me without medication for months. I found out my shared care agreement was gone on an attachment to - what I came to learn was - my final prescription which advised I could call them to be put on the NHS waiting list for ADHD services (which is now 9 years!). When I decided to have a private assessment they should never have taken me off the waiting list anyway, so I've also lost a year and a half on that!

This issue isn't unique to this GP but is rather a symptom of the state of NI at present, it's getting worse rapidly.

***

I have been registered here for almost 5 years now. Have never had an issue with receptionists. Most recently a couple of receptionists helped me sort a prescription issue I had, and were kind while doing so. They have always listened to my descriptions and reasonings for calling for appointments. I've not had any issue being booked in for an appointment or call back from a GP. Most recently, at the start of this month, I called the surgery at 8:45, was through within a minute and received a call back from the GP 15 minutes after. Waiting time at the surgery is reasonably quick when visiting for an in person appointment as well.

Always been listened to by the various doctors and nurses I've seen for various issues over the years. Maguire, especially, who noticed I was late for a smear, when I saw her for another reason, and so she booked me in for one. I would have continued to put it off otherwise.
This doctors practice is a disgrace, you ring your on hold for 30 mins. Then nothing happens you ring again in a queue of phone calls for 7.then you ring again your number 1 in the queue they still dont answer 30 mins later. The surgery should be closed down. They say there busy. Busy doing what. They shiuld beashamed. I even got on to my own mp. This is why people go to a&"e its anot a proper sur. Yery the staff need to be re trainned
For the first time in five years I got an appointment in there - it changed my previous opinion. Yes, the last time I wanted to make an appointment was during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I now understand why it was so difficult. For a young person, perhaps the best treatment for COVID-19 is self-healing rather than going to the GP at the risk of infecting the elder. In addition, I now understand the hard work of the medical staff. The doctors and nurses here are very friendly. And the Reception staff? Well, it's true that some people used to be a little rude on the phone, but that's changed now. If you just need a routine check, or if the condition is not serious, then here is a place to help. This is a good medical centre, as long as you can accept a long phone wait, as far as I know British GP are mostly the same.
Impossible to get through to book an appointment. The line is always busy. Once they pick up they just tell you to call again next day or contact emergency… it’s a joke. No wonder why people go yo emergency rooms so often, at least they have a guarantee they will be seen by a doctor. Ridiculous
I visited the doctor for my son today Inbetween 3-4 pm.Unfortunately for some reason the doctor could taken my blood sample.I noticed that the doctor who taken my blood sample totally followed a non sterile technique. He pricked me 3 times to get the sample, all the the 3 times he wasn't used any alcohol wipes to prepare the skin.He is known that I am pregnant and also I am a nurse.
I really wonder about this ,being a medical person and I faced this issue ,how bad this to the other people.
Appilogises if this hurt anyone .

Lovely, Friendly staff.

But unfortunately that doesn't uphold the fact you cannot get an appointment at all. You're told to call at a certain time on a certain day to be able to get an appointment but you'll spend most of your morning not being able to get through at all. Been trying to get an appointment almost 2 months now and at this point I've just given up
Virtually impossible to get access to doctors. For 3 consecutive days I been trying to get a telephone consultation. Day 1 repeat dialling for 1.5 hours to only get onto reception answer machine queue, (for another 40mins! ) to be told all the spots are full, phone back tomorrow.
Did so, Day2, repeat dialling for 2 hours, didn't manage to get connected 🤷
Day 3, got connected after 40 mins, 30 mins in queue, to be told at half 9 all appointments taken. Emergencies only you'll probably need to ring back tomorrow 🤬
I hate complaining about GPs surgeries as they provide a vital service, but this surgery has some serious issues. They have only "set days" you can ring for appointments. Every time you try to ring on those set days the lines are busy. They are still operating under "Covid Restrictions" despite the rest of us, including other NHS services, getting on with it. You basically need to take a morning off work just to get through to get an appointment.

If you need medical care you should try another GP surgery. You won't get seen at this surgery, you'll struggle to get even a basic phone appointment (takes at least a month now).
The staff are so friendly and helpful.
absolute disgrace, they will say anything to get you off the phone and deny you an appointment. Rang after being advised GP antibiotics by dentist for infection, advised after being on hold that they don't do that, so no appointment. Ok then, I have a prescription I need to discuss with the doctor. Ok, on hold. comes back. Can't do that. We don't do appointments. Ring back tomorrow at 8:30

They are borderline negligent, they aren't even fully aware how to use their own systems as they can never find you on it and you have to insist you area patient until they do find it.

Absolute joke and the entire staff should be ashamed of themselves. Reception staff in particular. No idea how to do their job or deal with patients. Insane this place hasn't been come down on hard by some kind of governing body
I had been sick all week with a chest infection which I can usually handle on my own without medical intervention but this one was extremely aggressive, so after a week of no sleep I called the surgery first thing in the morning and the staff were quick to answer and speak with me, I was nervous I would have been disregarded as I have been in the past with a minor ailment but the staff straight away got me a call back from dr white and within 30 mins dr white had called me back and perscribed me meds, when I went to collect my perscription the staff were really helpful and let me sit down to wait till my perscription was ready and for the first time in a week I slept and I'm on the mend. This is a brilliant surgery the best one I've ever been registered with. They've been so helpful with other things I've had to use them for also. Really happy to be a patient here
Been with this practice for years and it's always been a positive experience.
Thanks so much for looking after me. From the cleaners to the Top Doctors
From the cradle to the grave.
God bless.
The best practice I have ever registered with. The admin team are always lovely & so helpful. The medical staff are also very caring and efficient. Can't fault it.

5 stars. Highly recommended these GPs
Impossible to get an appointment. I don't know how many patients but they appear not to have enough doctors. Appointment staff are friendly but their position must be impossible. I have been trying for a full week and still cannot get to talk to a doctor. The 2 stars is not a comment on the staff but on my inability to reach a GP. It is very worrying to feel cut off from medical care
Dr's at this practice are great. They have been seeing patients face to face which has been invaluable in this climate.
The reception staff are very helpful but a special thanks to Dawn who goes the extra mile to listen even though they are all so busy.
Great practice
I have been a patient for about 30 years. From reception staff to nurses and GP's I have always had positive experiences. I have only met 2 of the new GP's, but both excellent experiences. Have had no issues getting appropriate triage/treatment during covid. Excellent, professional surgery.

2 Stars are entirely based on the reception staff as they are nice and friendly, although besides one doctor the rest could give a hoot about patient health from my experience, they have no patience on the phone and cant wait to get rid of you both over the phone and during appointments. Even after stressing how worried I've been about my health there was zero improvement. Disgrace of a GP practice. Would defiantly recommend not joining.

Amazing bunch of doctors. Very helpful reception staff. Feel valued as a patient.
Carrick hill Campbell practice is the worst GP i have ever seen. Receptionist is very rude and impatient. Doesn't listen to us properly and gives half of the prescription always.
The worst experience with a GP surgery I have ever had. I recently moved over to Northern Ireland from England and got both of my COVID vaccinations done in England. Elmwood Medical Practice refused to put these vaccinations on my medical record because I had not had them done in Northern Ireland. (My grandmother is registered at a different GP surgery in Northern Ireland and got her COVID vaccinations, which she also got done in England, put on her record straight away without a problem). Not only this, but the receptionists were incredibly rude and unhelpful. I was finally passed on to the Practice Manager who was by far the rudest person I spoke to and didn't even listen to what I had to say. I actually ended the phone call in tears after feeling completely let down by a service that is supposed to make you feel supported and in safe hands. I wish I could give this medical practice 0 stars, 1 is far more than they deserve.
If the practice intends to continue long term with setting a time limit to ring for a callback from a GP, and restricting the number of daily callbacks available, then it might be an idea to upgrade the phone system to handle the volume & intensity of calls this restricted access inevitably generates, maybe some sort of queuing system so people aren’t just cut off. 126 call fails and repeated hits of the redial button just to get through today, I don’t know how older & more vulnerable patients can realistically be expected to cope with this. I’m sure it puts the reception staff under a lot of pressure too.
Best GP ever
This surgery deserved recognition and an award for being so organized and efficient. Alan the practice manager is obviously very good at his job, and the doctors and nurses and superb and care about their patients. Nothing is ever too much trouble and easy to get an appointment if required. Thano
This is my very firs GP upon settling down myself in Belfast. I am with this GP for now almost 2 years. Luckily, I had to visit them only once in that time period. I must say that this particular GP does amazing job on everyday basis. On one occasion I went there for yearly health check and blood analysis. As person who works into Customer relations area of business, I found myself so positively surprised with the work ethic, clarity of communication, and straightforwardness into whole process upon visiting them Since I know how important reviews are, I took liberty to give them 5 stars, which is fully deserved.
Excellent surgery, both Carrick Hill and Glen Rd, with fantastic doctors. I have faced the odd delay in seeing a doctor or getting a prescrption but I also understand the immense pressure all the staff, including receptionists, are under, especially during the pandemic, and they are doing an outstanding job in these circumstances. We all want to see a doctor as soon as possible when we are ill but we have to understand that may not always be possible, but that is not the doctors' faults. We are quick to give negative reviews of businesses etc. but we should also praise them when necessary. I am delighted our surgery has the doctors and staff that we do and I hope they eventually get the proper support and resources they need to be able to deliver the service they want to provide. Thank you.
Wonderful staff friendly , effective caring and thouagh they definitely go above and beyond to work in unbelievably difficult conditions. I really can't think of a single negitive about the staff. They honestly do everything for patients.and never made me feel like I was was unimportant and always help when I have concerns. They would be 5* except...

New management with the trust has made the surgery feel like a cattle market. The new phone line times are crazy there's literally a two hour window to phone and waiting times can be over a month for an appointment. With familiar crys of if it's an emergency go to A and E it feels like GP should be taking strain off emergency services but they seem to be adding.phone consultations can only touch the surface of an issue. It's not staff fault. But the trust seriously need to look at current situation and either hire more staff or lobems to cope with demand or rethink how patients can access gp. Especially when chemists can't do routine checks like no or diabetes anymore. Not impressed by new management. Covid seems to still be the great excuse . After a year surely the gp could have more effective system to deal with patients
Great staff, great GP's a great surgery. I couldn't recommend this surgery enough. I have been with them for many years and always found everyone very helpful.
Unfortunately cannot give less than 1 star review. This would be zero or in the negative numbers given the chance. This place is absolute shambles. 35 attempts it took to get through to reception. Most of the receptionists with the exception of one are all rude, ignorant and /or incompetent. Doctors are not much better. Their time frame for getting back to patients is laughable. My children are registered at this surgery but won't be for much longer. They couldn't care less about their health or wellbeing. Needed an educational special needs referral form from doctor for my child. 8 weeks later they still have not looked at it let alone signed it. Younger receptionist is one of the worst and needs a serious attitude adjustment. Avoid at all costs!!!!!! Complaint made to medical practice but from my own experience they will do nothing about it so complaint has now been forwarded to ombudsman.
Well managed. Caring Doctors and Nursing team.
Highly recommend this doctors surgery . Always very friendly . Go out of their way to help you . The receptionists are so nice . Wish I had changed to here years ago. Was at loughview school this morning for my flu jab. Very efficient , ,drive through , don’t even have to get out of the car . I was in and out in just over a minute . Well done 👌👌

Doctor phoned me as part of a call back service and started by saying he was very busy and I shouldn't take up to much of his time.
In the mornings you can just walk in and see a doctor, no need for any appointments, which i think is advantage. I'm registered here for a few years now and can't complain much. When ever i needed help i was getting it.
Practice is an absolute disgrace. Snarky attitude from the doctors who don't bother to read what's on your file, and the receptionists are even worse, hanging up phones, ignorant and rude remarks, telling you one thing when they've done the opposite. How the staff keep their jobs is beyond me, completely incompetent and should be nowhere near details of people's medical history. What's worse is I've only joined the practice and I'll not be back. Place needs a serious review

PS. The nurses in the treatment rooms are great, the doctors and receptionists appalling professional attitudes do not reflect on them.
The doctors and reception staff are extremely helpful, professional and thorough. The appointment booking and repeat prescription booking system are effective and efficient.
Neglect sons ears. Wrote nothing in my medical notes about when my car was burnt out. Dr Ross comes to my house in March 2015 demanding to take my son to his opponents. Did Dr ross not understand I had only been threw a serious car arson attack and my children lost all there parms and carseats . I have been insults by health visitors and doctors in this medical centre . Made a complaint guess what Cover up . NO COMPASSION in this medical centre . 😢
