A bit pricey for such tiny servings and moderately ok-tasting food. My friend and I split the smashed avocado on toast and banoffee crepe between us and for around ~ 30 AUD per head you'd think you'd get a bit more for breakfast. It was an ok meal overall, just wish the servers had been more attentive to our table.

Sharing this for the first time after countless of visits. Mostly here for dinner. Petition is an upscale casual restaurant located inside the State Building in Perth CBD. It has a nice vibe and very popular. They have the best Broccoli & mixed grain salad, ever! The last time we dined here, we ordered chargrilled octopus, beef rump, heirloom carrots salad, broccoli salad, lamb loin and a few others. We enjoyed the food as usual but I must say for the very first time that the lamb loin was a let down. The taste was just not right. I’m sure this will be fixed. I didn’t take any star off because I’ve been here many times. This doesn’t tarnish the restaurant’s reputation in my eyes. Definitely will return to dine for more.
Used to be our local for many years. We stopped going to the Tavern earlier this year as I felt the meals were becoming ordinary. I am Happy to say after giving another chance it seems the Kitchen has turned around. The Beef Gnocchi was A1 and the Beef Schnitzel was back . Great Recovery 👍🏼
I had a rather unpleasant experience with the Vintage Cellar Carlton recently. I wen to pick up the wines I ordered through their website (click & collect). The shop has no clear signage on which counter to pick up the online orders. I gave my ID to the staff and was asked if I am here to pick up Uber eat. What gives? After the initial confusion we eventually got what we came for. However, there was no basic greeting from the staff and he seemed rather annoyed the whole time. The wine was good but the experience in the shop left a bad taste in the mouth.
I was basically raised here, as you can tell was not a great up bringing you'll understand what I mean if you've ever gone here. SUPER sketchy, terrible food. Granted my opinion may be a bit biased given my despise for Hallet cove. But I mean just to get a simple meal would leave in heart break, tragedy, cardiac arrest of how God awful it is there. So glad I left that toxic relationship and am now growing as a customer discovering restaurants that are of fair better quality and won't leave me crying, scratching at the walls, or shaking on the ground.
Visited for Father’s Day bottomless lunch, very tasty food beautifully presented, drinks refilled constantly and very attentive staff , highly recommended our new local bar/bistro

My first visit to Petition, I had a late Saturday breakfast there. I had shakshuka and a long black coffee. I liked the atmosphere, the taste of the coffee, the warm bread that came with the meal and the dukkah on the egg yolk. Service was polite. A good first impression.
Great little place, great selection of beers on tap and in the fridge! Awesome menu and the owners are very nice! Be good if they had some tables outside, but I suspect that is council rules stopping them doing that!
Six of us sat in the nook. Good for conversations. Very fine service from the young ladies. Lambs fry a little disappointing, a strange taste. But everyone else was happy, so I kept quiet. A pleasant evening ☺️
Excellent selection of international, independent and niche drinks! So nice to see some of my favourites so close to home! The staff and management/owners are wonderful people and will always take the time to chat with you. This is exactly what we needed in Harrisdale!
Enjoyable food in a nice atmosphere with attentive staff and quick service. Their menu seems to change regularly and they offer a wide range of meals, with our small selection being well prepared, at the table within 10 minutes of ordering and of amazing taste.
The only downside is that their breakfast menu ends around 10:30, but that is likely less of an issue for you than it was for us 😉

Refused service as I was in there getting drinks for myself and friends with my 2 sons wouldn't believe me that they don't drink I also have a stuffed knee and they where carry it for me not happy
Lovely cosy new spot for a cheeky drink and mouth-watering Italian appetisers. Wide range of wines and craft beers to chose from. You can order drinks from the bar, or pick any drinks from their bottle shop and have them at the bar.
The food was out of this world I had vetkoek and a lamb bunny chow bloody amazing. It was worth the drive there.

Delightful and cosy spot for a light lunch and a tasty, surprisingly cheap, cocktail. If you prefer, the beers on tap are great quality crafts! The cheese plate is different from your standard fare and seems more like a focus than an afterthought. The only downside is the venue being quite small, being local I am aware that this was probably an outcome of a battle with the residents at the approval level.

Judging on their cheese toasties alone, the staff here exceed beyond their expectations. If the cheesy toasties are anything to go by than the food here must be amazing!! Beautiful staff with amazing hearts. ❤️
Useless people. Called ahead to make sure they have a product in stock, was told 14 available, took me 25min to get there, just to find out it wasn't the case. No attempt to provide a solution, other than a sorry, oh the people from the bar must have taken them. Please take responsibility for situations like this and employ hospitable people who want to be there, rather than some old lady who is running down her timesheet on Public Holiday rates. Pathetic.
This place is elite and has a great selection of wines too in their bottle shop. The bunny chow and lamb curry in fried bread was a highlight. I literally missed my first born take his first steps while I was here and frankly I’m not sure I regret not being there for it. 10/10

Big warning against this place! My partner and I went in the other night and bought some booze. My partner accidently knocked a bottle of wine to the ground as we were leaving. The guy behind the counter, an older man who regularly serves us, immediately fired up and said we had to pay, after my partner tried to negotiate with the guy, he came from around the counter and pushed him up against the wall, his fist pressing into his throat demanding we pay. He eventually let go but then grabbed my partner around the neck and dragged him further into the shop and to the ground, with his arm locked around his neck. He tried to grab the alcohol, that we had already bought, out of my partners hands, and managed to take a few bottles off him. At one point it looked like he was raising one of the bottles as a threat. Very shaken up.

I used Rathdowne Cellars for a corporate event, they were on time with the delivery and the collection of glasses the next day. Super friendly, affordable and easy to work with. The Highly Recommend!
Must of driven past this place 100 times before actually going inside. This place is very relaxed, nice selection of wines to choose from. Food was surprisingly superb, especially that chicken sando. Staff very friendly, all in all really good spot for a drink and a bite to eat!

Being an ex-Rhodesian and South African it was such an awesome way to have a little taste of Africa right here in our new land 15 years In Western Australia. Its great to hear people with our own accents and to be able to buy grocery and liquor from the land in which we were raised. The staff including the owners went above and beyond opening a bottle of wine from the shop for me because I enjoy a sweet wine. The food was great too.

Mothers day dinner on Sunday was delicious, quick service and lovely food. The kids were given activity packs which always makes their day 😁 and all mums left with a bunch of flowers .. that was a lovely surprise :D Highly recommend for a great meal :)

I was excited to check this place out, however that excitement quickly faded after being patronised by the owner. I asked him nicely if they serve any cocktails, to which he sarcastically said 'um no, we're a WINE bar.' Everyone at my table was taken aback by the delivery of his response, which was undoubtedly rude. They actually do serve negronis and beer so his piggish reply to me was totally unwarranted. For what it's worth, most wine bars in the area serve cocktails, not an unreasonable question for me to ask. Also, whenever my friend and I went inside to order another drink or pay, we had to wait for the staff to finish their chit chat amongst each other before being looked at. Felt like we were intruding on them. Won't be returning. Ghastly and overrated!
I ordered two hard-to-find wines from the online store. Very fast postage, small mix up with one bottle which was immediately rectified by the staff. Would like to visit when I’m in Melbourne.

The team here are so knowledgeable. Regardless of what’s on tap they will take you through the subtleties of each drop, giggle with you on each delivery to the table and show their true (beautiful) colours. A delightful way to send out the year, thank you xxx

I’ve been a regular customer here for years. Just shown the guy who works there my bank statement detailing a double transaction for the same day, time and amount. His only response is “Oh I wasn’t here that day. Maybe come back another day”. No refund offered. No apology. Nothing. Just lost a customer for life.
I went here on Friday night 02/07/21 at about 2330 and was helped by a lovely lady (30 something, tattoos), she went above and beyond to assist me. She is a credit to her employer.

Brilliant place for South African cuisine. The menu has many items, staff are incredibly friendly as well. Both savoury and sweet items are worth trying! They have a selection of biltong which is one of the best in Perth, and many wines and groceries which are sure to please you if you’re in the market for it. Easy to find, easy to park - highly recommend!
Is this the best wine store in Melbourne?! I vote yes. Impeccable service and knowledge, always keen to help you make a selection that is just right. Offering is fantastic, feels like every bottle has been diligently selected. Second to none in the city for German Riesling options. 10/10 from me!

Imagine selling out of date beer and overpriced wine to a 27 year old customer and then refusing to accept his ID because he "must have stolen it from his twin brother"... what??? Unlike the store owner/operator I was actually wearing a mask (as is our legal obligation) so I totally get how hard it is to ID people under the circumstances. Instead of insulting your regulars you could just, idk be friendly and accommodating and accept their license (as you are legally required to if they present valid ID).
There are sooooo many good bottle shops in the area that actually stock good product. Every single one of them would love your business except this one apparently. Please go anywhere else.

Even though I didn't get the drink I was looking for, one of the staff helped me in purchasing an alternative. So the customer support was really nice.

Every staff member I've met here has been absolutely lovely and they have a great selection of wines and beers. Common and more boutique. Often they also have mix and match specials on beers as well which are great value

Fantastically curatored eclectic range at very reasonable prices. Shop here if you are sick of the big box wine offerings that all look alike and sell the same standardised rubbish.

Quick and easy service, staff are always willing to help and speedy checkout. Normal prices are slightly more expensive but if you grab one of their deals it's much more worth it.

Purchased a six pack of Carlton Draught from here last week and the beer was completely flat. Tasetd like urine, like it was ten years old or something. Very dissapointed.
These guys are great. Spoiled for choice & super helpful staff for when you need some advice. Small but good selection of beers and plenty of good bottles under $20. I've been an inner north resident for the last 10 years and this place would be my top pick for a bottle of wine.
