Lovely, cosy, candlelit restaurant in a cute little terrace house - perfect for dates and special celebrations and the food is absolutely delicious! Staff always very attentive and welcoming. They even have some fun non-alcoholic cocktail options if that’s your jam.
Pasta is absolutely delicious and pizzas are perfect. Saranda Cafe will see us again.

Really good Italian food. Feels homely but special. Tiramisu was also great. The lighting in our corner was just a tad bit too dark IMO. Maybe a bigger candle would be better.
Wow! Delish food with so much flavour and the portions are decent. I’m yet to dine in as I’m sure that menu would have so much more to offer. I order the pizza and pasta at least once a week to go and am never disappointed.
Hands down, the best pizza in Sydney! We ordered the Sicilia and the Melanzana and every bite of both pizzas was perfection. The crust and the flavours were incredible - I didn't want the meal to ever end! The restaurant itself is quite cute and cozy and the owner is so friendly and obviously very passionate which made for an authentic experience. Highly highly recommend and I can't wait to go back!

I must admit I was a bit unsure with the small number of items on the menu, where I couldn’t understand half of them. However, by the end of the evening, they have won me over!
It is a bit pricey but you get what you pay. The service was excellent from the get go. They were very helpful in assisting us to navigate the menu and recommendations.

Pizza was so good, is the best I've eaten in Sydney so far. I've been there with my friends(8) during Saturday and it was so so so noisy that we couldn't even talk! The manager at the beginning didn't want to separate the bill with a rude behavior.
Wonderful dinner experience here celebrating a birthday. We enjoyed the hand-made woodfired pizzas here, with wonderful selections. We also enjoyed the tiramisu here, which was delicious.

Step inside to the large indoor dining area and get ready for the loud festivity.
There is limited seating outdoors, (for those seeking a quieter vibe) which was very pleasant in the afternoon winter sunshine.
The prices are not over the top.
Servers with strong Italian accents add that extra bit of authenticity that makes you feel like you're dining right in the heart of Italy.
The Gnocchi and Arancini balls are proof that happiness comes in the form of carbs.
Next time, I will certainly be tucking into the pizzas being served to other diners.

We visited last night and celebrated a double birthday with our close friends and wow 🤩 this hole-in-the-wall family-run pizza joint is just incredible on all levels. Service was personal and genuine, food was needless to say 10/10 and the wine list albeit being small, shows us the importance of quality over quantity. We had such a great time and some of us had to travel 1 hour+ from out of city suburbs and it is 100% worth the time.
There’s no favourite dish because all of them were stunning!

If you're looking for affordable eats on campus - this isn't your place. It's pretty enough, the food is okay, more quality over quantity though. It's fine, just nothing spectacular. Good for after work drinks & dinner perhaps.
Been here recently. Was a bit disappointed with the food. We had Caesar salad, the flavor was not bad, just the price is around $23, a bit expensive for a salad. We also had chicken burger $24.9, was tasty, just not big enough, didn’t have many layers for a burger around this price, I can literally eat two of this burger for lunch, one such burger is not enough for lunch if you are hungry. Later we ordered an extra chips for 10.9 dollars and half kilo fried chicken. Chips, not that amazing the flavor, a bit expensive as well. For the fried chicken, the red source in the surface really tasted terrible, I am not exaggerating, the flavor is sour in a terrible way.
From best to worst. You just lost a regular customer. The Buffalina which I used to order, came cold, burnt, missing sauce, Uber gave back the money for your sake 👍.

Amazing wood-fired pizzas! The dough, is rested for 72 hours, resulted in a perfect, crispy. I really liked the Margherita pizza. The cozy ambiance and attentive staff made it a great dining experience.
Absolutely delicious and affordable wood fired pizza! I was travelling from Victoria and this was a very lovely pizza restaurant my colleagues and I went to. Highly recommend!

First visit - The burrata mushroom pizza here is 💯! Atmosphere is cozy too, perfect to celebrate a weekend. Looking forward to my next visit 😋

We attended for a birthday dinner and I’m incredibly disappointed in the experience. It seemed that the staff wanted us to leave from the moment we sat down. We ordered several pizzas, one being a garlic pizza that was covered in burnt garlic.
Our cocktails took over half and hour to arrive and one was made incorrectly. When this was raised the waiter asked for feedback then reacted with hostility despite us being polite about the issue. Table service was incredibly lacking and it took over 15 min for water to arrive. We were polite from the start but it seemed that the staff had an issue with us as other tables were being treated much better.

This is a quality Italian restaurant with bar facilities too. The food was quality and we have the pizza which had a crispy base with excellent balance of toppings on the "The Lot" pizza minus the anchovies. The lemon tart for dessert was also a delight. It was a bit of a long wait to receive the pizza but was was worth it with the quality received.
Amazing ambiance and great intimate atmosphere, came for a birthday dinner but thought it would be great for a date night or casual dining. Food was standard, the only thing that stood out was the tiramisu (probably the best one I’ve had in Sydney) so creamy and packed with flavor. Not too impressed with the wait time, waited over an hour for the mains to be served, the whole table just sat with bread during this time . The restaurant wasn’t extremely busier either. Their sister restaurant porteno was a much better experience overall.
We had a pleasant dinner at Prezzo last night. Between us, we shared 2 pizzas and a bottle of wine which was more than enough good - we were glad we didn’t get anything smaller to share. Okay service, nice venue and we enjoyed watching the wildlife of Hutt Street pass by as we sat outside
Great spot! I’ve been visiting via napoli since day one when Luigi opened the first small shop in Lane Cove. It has grown since then massively though consistency on the dough and pizza has remained good. It’s slightly more mass market than originally intended though you got to make sure you keep your audience happy!

I went out to dinner with some of my friends and the food was good. Although everyone on my table ordered pizza's so the pizza was thinner crust than domino's for reference. The portion's are a bit big so maybe one pizza between two people would have been better for me personally. The atmosphere was cozy dinner vibes ✨️ which was very good. The photos of the food aren't very good cause lighting on my phone isn't great. The person who took our order was great and for reference, someone will come to your table to take your order. I didn't know that and it wasn't made clear anywhere. Overall food was great and a lively cozy dinner. 😊
We had a wonderful dining experience! The atmosphere was perfect for a dinner for two, complete with candlelight that created a cozy and romantic setting. Our waiter, Eddie, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and made us feel very comfortable without rushing us at all. While the food was okay, the overall ambiance and service truly made the evening special. We'll definitely be back!
Antipasto was decent, but I won't be ordering the Pizza Il Capitano again—just not to my taste. However, the main issue was the service. I booked a table over the phone, and upon arrival, we were informed that we only had one hour to eat. We sat down at 7:00, ordered wine and food at 7:15, received our pizza and other dishes after 25 minutes, and were kicked out by 8:00, even though we still had wine left. The atmosphere was terrible, with noise so loud it hurt my ears.

My partner and I recently held our wedding reception at Bastardo and had an amazing experience. The communication leading up to the day was brilliant and everything was well planned. The on the day set-up was perfect. The food/service/atmosphere on the day was exactly what we wanted. the staff were extremely attentive and very accommodating to a number of last minute dietary changes. Overall it was a magical day filled with great service and delicious food. Would highly recommend.
Great high-quality food. There are a variety of options, and they help you customise the dishes and swap certain ingredients. Items generally lean on the more expensive side, but it can be worth it because of the overall good quality. The place is often quite busy, though there is plenty of indoor and outdoor sitting available.

This was our first time at Sagra, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is situated in the cutest little old house, and was candle lit. It was an absolute vibe! Our server was very friendly, kind, and accommodating. He always had a smile on his face. And of course the food - the pasta was wonderful. We only wish there could’ve been more.
I just popped in for a coffee and a slice of cake. It's nice and spacious with a good distance between the tables. It's a large room and not too noisy. It's in a nice location with plenty of glass that allows you to admire this lovely area of the city. It appears to be licensed I'm not sure what food is available I saw cake and everything else went blank. Coffee and cake was $12 certainly not unreasonable in the city centre. I liked it.

Ordered wood-fired Margherita and Tagliolini nero—both were delicious 🤤. Just a note, the prawn servings were a bit too small. Hope they add more for that price. Great Italian food though! 😜 Will probably visit again.
Celebrated Mothers Day at Via Napoli Surry Hills and were delighted by the food and service! We had the special mothers day set menu which consisted of menu items we would not have normally ordered. All the food was delicious!!
Pretty upset with the quality drop from this place as previously it was authentic and now it’s greasy food. Had a pasta dish from there a month or so ago and the carbonara was strictly olive oil with some parmesan cheese sprinkled on top.
Let the pasta go but ordered pizzas tonight and it’s got puddles of grease on them. What happened to the quality of this place?

Not overwhelmed by ingredients but the harmonious combination of a couple of high quality ingredients made the pizza simply bellissimo!

We enjoyed an amazing birthday lunch at Via Napoli on the weekend. It was a 70th b’day celebration & it was thoroughly enjoyable. The food was so incredibly delicious, the service was equally as good & the atmosphere was casual & fun. It’s a family run business & we were treated like family. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant & will definitely be returning
Vacanza Restaurant in Surry Hills earns a 5/5 for its outstanding dining experience. A special shoutout to Francesca, who recommended mouth-watering entrées that set the tone for an amazing meal. The focaccia bread was delightfully delicious, while the pizzas stole the show with their perfectly crispy bases, balanced sauce, and just the right amount of toppings—absolutely perfect. We walked in, no booking, though if you do this I suggest you go early. When leaving we noticed a line of about 20 people out the door.

I want to especially applaud our server Rohan who made our night that much brighter with his charisma and amazing food suggestions. The wine was perfect pairing with all our meals. The eggplant parmigiana and corn agnolotti was sensational!

We arrive late (sorry!) to a late night booking and instead of making us feel like an inconvenience, the staff seemed to use it as an opportunity to give us outstanding service. We ordered entrees and pasta, and not a scrap was left on the plates, it was all so delicious! The stuffed zucchini flowers and cockscomb bisque special were standouts. Nice low key lighting and decor gave the venue an intimate and cosy atmosphere. Thanks Bastardo, we loved our visit
Great pasta, had the beef ragu pasta and the squid ink gnocchi, very innovative and flavourful, atmosphere was intimate, but service was slightly slow and portions were definitely too small for the price.
We went to celebrated my boyfriend's birthday and waaaaaas amazing! The place is located in a hidden vibrant street. Nice service. Also, I'm gluten-free and this one its been the most trusty, flavoury crusty pizza ever! Please, go and give it a chance!. We will be there again, for sure.

Sadly was not impressed with the flavour of my chicken ceaser salad. While it looked lovely the smellwas off-putting as was the taste and i have had this type of salad at so many places and its the first one i havent even been able to finish .
Located beside the UQ pool and tennis field, this café boasts a pleasant ambiance with charming décor and a relaxed vibe. However, the food seems to be priced slightly higher than its quality warrants. Despite the appealing atmosphere, I doubt I'll revisit due to the lackluster service and mediocre offerings.

The most beautiful, romantic, warm, cozy atmosphere you could ever get. We planned on dinner last minute on the easter weekend and this one of the only places that was open till late night. The customer service was excellent, suggested us their specials and what drinks would go with the food. They didn’t even rush us to leave as we were the last ones there and it was past their closing time. The food was delicious. Will definitely come back next time.
Great little Italian place, part of the group who run Porteño. All house made fresh pasta, with some good classic Italian dishes and with a twist. Their bread comes from their bakery next door called Humble. We got to enjoy their burrata, zucchini flowers and their eggplant parmigiana. But the winner was the pasta. They had a pasta special with tiger prawn bisque. And the blue swimmer crab with mafalda pasta was also memorable. We tried the cassata dessert, which was only ok. The pistachio layer was the best part, but we couldn't finish the tart strawberry layer. Overall, a good meal with great service and a good wine list.

The dough 🤌🤌🤌 I found the dough very different from other pizzaria. It was chewy and gooey at another level. Woodfired, and with loaded italian cheese with understated toppings, pizza had wow factor in it. Staff were brilliant, keep making eye contact with patron, pronto response and service with excellence. We had truly pleasant dining experience and highly recommend.

One of the best services we’ve received, the owner was so nice and friendly and the food was great, we ordered 5 pizzas and every one of them was amazing!
Restaurant has a great vibe and staff are attentive and on the ball. However, the food was a little bit of a let down. The corn pasta was perfectly cooked but lacked seasoning. The flavours were all there it just wasn’t strong enough. Then the Duck Pasta we ordered didn’t taste like anything at all lol, it was weird. My partner had ordered the crab pasta on another occasion and said it was amazing. I wish I had ordered it, or asked for salt. Maybe both.
Decided to have a pizza! Considering its the fringe and the sort pf volumes they are doing i was absolutely impressed with the pizza, cooked perfectly not chewy and great crust. The eggplant canneloni antipasto could be a little more well seasoned but over all we were very happy with the meals and very well priced for the sort of location. Service was quick and the staff was friendly and happy people.

Great coffee and a nice place to hang out before/after tennis. Don’t order from the menu if you are short on time as it usually takes awhile… all the time…a looooong time. It is under a new management but nothing has improved since.
Vacanza Pizzeria offers some of the best pizza we have had the pleasure of enjoying since arriving in Sydney. The menu is small, but still broad enough that there should be something for everyone. The BYOB is a little on the pricey side compared to Vacanza's competitors but is still a pleasant treat. Sam noted that the seating is a little uncomfortable but perhaps that helps to keep the tables moving. Our waitress, a young Irish lady, did an excellent job with our table.

I recently visited Bocelli Caffe and tried their salt and pepper chicken with wedges. The dish was flavorful and satisfying. The coffee shake and coffee were delightful, offering a nice balance. I appreciated the unique concept of placing your order, take a menu on the entry, pick your table, and placing orders at the counter. It adds a casual and interactive element to the dining experience. Overall, a pleasant visit with tasty food and a relaxed atmosphere.

This place is fantastic! The staff, including a friendly Spanish guy, was really nice. He had great recommendations and was very helpful. The pizza, with either tomato or mozzarella base, was delicious! The Tartufata was really good and cheesy, and their tiramisu is a must-try.

Authentic neapolitan pizza which are delicious. We had lucio which is half margherita half calzone, and contadina. Calzone was really good with generous toppings inside. We also had burrata but didn't really enjoy it as we prefer classic burrata salad with tomatoes.
The staff were incredibly friendly and the atmosphere was cozy!
However, we waited over 30 minutes for below-average pizzas.
Really hope this was an off night as I had heard good things about this place. Fingers-crossed they will be better next time.

Take-out order: one egg&bacon roll, and one cup of iced coffee, they cost $18.90. The price is not low, but taste is not bad.
Btw, the staff is very honest. When he hand the food to me, he tells me that this egg roll is from the previous customer’s wrong order, but it has not been touched😂😂.

What a delightful find! The pasta is exceptional ... Best we've had for at least 5 years! Servings are very large. Would be great if entree portions were offered. The Nutella creme brulee was rather pleasant, with Nutella in the centre and vanilla around the sides. I admit I prefer the plain vanilla version. The crackly top could have been a little bit more crackly. The cocktail we shared was quite watery and let down the experience. Wine choices very good! Interesting little bar area, and lovely vibe in the restaurant. It was quite full in spite of it being a Sunday evening. Next time we're in Sydney (from Brisbane) well visit Rocksalt again. 🌈
Sicily Restaurante truly exceeded our expectations! Organizing a booking for 20 people can be challenging, but the staff was incredibly friendly and organized. Sebastian, the manager, provided top-notch service, ensuring our experience was nothing short of excellent. The team working that day delivered amazing customer service, making our last Saturday memorable, and the food was also outstanding.

La Coppola is an absolute delight! Let’s start with the food, it’s all about the pizza in this tiny little gem. We had the Mt Etna and Scopello. Both has a really good spicy kick. The crust was perfect, pillowy with smokey wood-fired flavours.
This family run joint has been around forever in Redfern and the reviews are worth the hype. It’s cute and cosy and the food is great.

Very cool vibe cafe with live music on the Friday night we went to see my colleague Paul play Super happy hour with drinks discounted substantially. The margherita cocktail (not pizza ha ha) was one of the best ever. Good service from staff at all times, even when it was raining. Food was stylish with the seafood linguine with the pasta cooked to perfection and the seafood very obviously fresh. Fried calamari was good but not great. Yes, very cool vibe.
We booked online - a Sunday night - and mosied in on time. The staff were attentive and the setting spacious, with photographs of Italy on the wall. I had a wonderful pasta bosciolla dish. My only dismay was when they tried to pour alcoholic apple cider into a glass of ice. That's like having ice in your wine. Who does that? Otherwise we loved it. Definitely worth trying.
Our new favourite Italian restaurant in the Shire! ❤️ Beautiful, leafy location on the first floor. The restaurant has a gorgeous cosy ambiance. The wait staff were warm, wonderful, attentive and made sure we were delighted at all times. Everything we tried was beyond delicious…from the starters of warm olives, crusty bread with ricotta dip and olive tapenade, and creamy garlic prawns, to our mains of braised beef cheek and ricotta gnocchi. Perfection!! 10/5 stars 🌟 I recommend ordering garlic bread to scoop up every last drop of the amazing gnocchi sauce! I tried the blood orange spritz and it was divine. We finished dinner with a tiramisu (the BEST!) and the Nutella crème brûlée. My husband and I are already dreaming about what to order for our next visit…everything on the menu looks so delicious 😊 Thank you for a wonderful evening, we will be back again very soon! 🙏🏼
The absolute best pizza in town. Authentic Italian food, the most amazing chef, fantastic customer service and just an all around brilliant atmosphere. We come nearly every Friday night and always look forward to it. The staff are so friendly and welcoming.
Great food and service, very romantic and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for friends / family / dating! Duck breast and beef both are very tender, mocktails are perfectly made too! Very nice sunset feel if arrive before dark. Close to train station, abundant parking places nearby too, very convenient. Definitely worth coming back again to try different dishes!
Wow, absolutely loved the Rustica (I love a white base pizza), the potatoes were crisp and bursting with flavour, the sausage had great seasoning and the cheese integrated it all. The crust was simply amazing and their house chilli oil is sensational! It doesn't taste overly spicy and the oil seems to be very high quality.
We also loved the pizza Lucio (half Margherita pizza, half ricotta and ham calzone. The ricotta was super generous, and I ended up spreading some on the crust.
Loved the Pinot Grigio and montepulciano wines.
Will definitely be back.

We had a lovely dinner. The pizzas, pastas and desserts were all amazing. The staff were exceptionally nice and welcoming. Could not fault this place at all. Would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone and will definitely go back
Only cafe on the campus that opens on Sunday. Waited more than 30 mins for the food, ordered bolognese - the taste was very bland, the spaghetti was not cooked properly, most of them stuck together in a bunch. The seating was outdoor undercover, it gets very hot during the day.
I loved the cute cosy atmosphere of this Italian restaurant and everything was so delicious. My friends and I ordered several dishes to share and got a cheeky red wine to pair 😋

A short 10 min walk from Museum station, the Lucio pizza is one of the best pizzas I’ve had in Sydney. Service was also lovely, polite and timely - no complaints at all. Seating arrangements are a little bit tight
Enjoyed an excellent sourdough veg pizza, made perfectly. The eggplant entree was very tasty. The latte was pretty average, kind of a milky drink with Italian espresso. The waiter forgot one of our pizzas and I didn't mention it because we didn't need it in the end. It was quiet for a Saturday afternoon, so it wasn't too loud, a good atmosphere for meeting with friends.

Traditional Italian pizza around the Redfern area. The staff is friendly, especially the owner with the cool mustache. Very busy during peak hours, so you should avoid this period if possible. Always come here fortnightly.
We had an incredible experience at Prezzo. The food was amazing but what stood out was the incredible service. Great communication, knowledge of the food and drink and regular table service for top ups and check ins.
The steak was smoky and cooked perfectly, the salmon and accompaniments were perfectly balanced and the Antipasto... delicious (amazing olives).
What topped it off was the little tastings along the way and the way the bill was presented with a little gift for each of us.
Highly recommended and we will be back.

Loved their food and their service was great! I even got sparklers on my birthday cake. I recommend trying their food. I was lucky to eat there with lots of people, so we could order a smorgasbord of entrees to try more dishes. The chilli garlic prawns was my favourite and a must try!
I had the veal scallopini for my main which was really nice, though the potato was a little too crispy for my liking, but when I tried someone else's lamb shank meal, the meat was so soft it fell off the bone and the flavour was so nice. I'm definitely planning to go back to try some other mains in the future

Had an enjoyable, relaxed family dinner here. Outside seating area has a great European summer vibe with a few restaurants sharing a common large courtyard area. Pizza is Napoletana style so very thin base and big, soft and chewy crust. This is our preferred style. Flavours and toppings were good. Spinach calzone was mu favourite, kids liked the Lucio pizza. Probably would give 4.5 star but just not 5/5 for me when comparing to some other Napoletana pizzerias in Sydney. Definitely worth a visit though.
You will absolutely not regret getting dinner here. Perfect for family dinners, celebrations, dates, or even just alone; the food is always delicious and the staff are reliable and helpful. One of the best spots in the Sutherland shire if you’re looking to up your dinner experience.
Just had an absolutely incredible meal here for Father’s Day lunch. The set menu was full of delicious options, it was hard to choose! Really tasty food, nice generous portions and good value for money. Family friendly with a great kid’s menu - so we will definitely be back! So nice to have a great local Italian restaurant in Jannali. I wish we had discovered it sooner, we’ll be recommending to all of our friends and neighbours! Thank you for an excellent lunch!
Fantastic experience! My partner and I came here to celebrate 6 months together. Food was served in generous portions with an excellent wine selection. They decorated our table with love heart glitter on the side.

We attended on a Saturday night and the place was very lively and noisy. So it's not the best place for a long conversation but at least we were able to cuddle up between meals on the lounge.
They went out of their way and even wrote happy anniversary on our dessert plate and complimented us on looking like a cute couple and asking us how many years we were married!
Being busy, meals take a little longer to prepare and we found the share bowl garlic prawns was too small for 2 people and they didn't bring out additional bowls to spoon it into anyway. So keep that in mind when ordering. Otherwise main meals were very generous indeed and very tasty. I ordered the duck and it was well done. Just the right portion size. My partner ordered the chicken cacciatore and it was most definitely a large plate of food that we ended up sharing!
