A really beautiful memorial commemorating those who sacrificed their lives for their country. A really nice spot to visit, reflect and contemplate at.
Nicely presented but the location makes no sense. Why not at Rockcliffe? Canadian government prefers to minimize our military and its heritage.

Great parkette with monument commemorating our fallen heroes. We march there with our kids and their fellow cadets every year on November 11th. Lest We Forget. 🙏🏻

First time my mother and I attended the remembrance service in Brockville. Even with the weather we had it was still enjoyable. The amount of people present was incredible. The emotion my mother felt because she almost lost a son in Afghanistan, made us both feel after being here for 8 months we are home.
Probably one of the best designed war memorials I have ever come across. This is definitely another to add to your list of things to do while in this beautiful city.

From an American that proudly served alongside my friends in the Canadian Forces. My first stop, whenever I'm in Ottawa.

Lest we forget.
This place or monument is such a moniker for what it represents. It stands out and is symbolic to the strife for military conflict and its consequences. Canada has been engaged in many wartime conflicts and has paid the price. The War Memorial is a solemn place rich in history worthy of any visitor to pay respects.

This is one of the must stops to truly enjoy visiting the capital of Canada. I have been going here for decades and every time it is worth it.
You can not miss this monument in downtown Ottawa. The monument gives homage to the Canadian soldiers and the overseas battles in which they were involved. On either side of the monument, the dates of all those battles are engraved, and it is up to you to check the details of those conflicts on your own
The National War Memorial is at Confederation Square in Canada's capital, Ottawa, nearby the Parliament building. The memorial is home to the Unknown Soldier and guards switch off shift every hour. The National War Memorial is a beautiful tribute to those Canadians who have fought and sacrificed so much.

The National War Memorial in Ottawa is a place of profound significance and reverence, and our visit during a weekday evening at sunset left us with a deep appreciation for its beauty and historical importance. As we walked by and approached the memorial, we were immediately struck by its grandeur and the solemn atmosphere that surrounded it.

The centerpiece of the memorial, the tomb of the unknown soldier, commanded our attention and evoked a deep sense of respect. It was a moment of reflection, a reminder of the sacrifices made by countless soldiers who fought for Canada. The hushed atmosphere around the tomb spoke volumes about the reverence held for those who gave their lives in service to the nation.

We observed that many visitors, like ourselves, were captivated by the memorial's presence and took the opportunity to capture the moment through photographs. It was heartening to witness the shared sentiment of respect and appreciation among the visitors. People were mindful and considerate, maintaining a sense of decorum and allowing the solemnity of the memorial to prevail.

The National War Memorial stands as a testament to the wars fought by Canada and serves as a reminder of the courage and sacrifices made by its soldiers. It is a poignant symbol of remembrance and gratitude, a place where one can pause to honor the past and contemplate the cost of freedom.

For anyone visiting the Parliament buildings or exploring Ottawa, the National War Memorial is an absolute must-visit destination. It not only offers a stunning visual spectacle but also serves as a poignant reminder of the nation's history and the tremendous sacrifices made by its brave men and women. It is a place that encourages reflection, deepens understanding, and fosters a sense of gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy today.

In conclusion, the National War Memorial in Ottawa is a place of great significance and beauty. Its solemnity, combined with its striking design, makes it a powerful reminder of Canada's military history. A visit to this memorial is an opportunity to pay tribute to those who fought and remember the profound impact of their sacrifices.

Didn't have enough time to visit all exhibitions but section with heavy machines was impressive. Thanks to all who have protected Canada in the past and do it now.

In memorization of Canadian soilders died in WWI
We see togetherness of allies, thanks to you, the Evils are perished !
It is closed for now, but a beautiful spot to bike to along the river paths and wander around enjoying the architecture and the view of parliament.
Soothing views at both of the day and night, gives calming feeling when you step on the shore(BTW CHECK OUT these fun bids!)
This aviation memorial recognises Canada's significant contributions towards the allied forces during World War II. Canada provided a safe area for flight training of military crews. This required Canada's aviation infrastructure to be substantially developed, including; supporting logistics, new aerodromes, aircraft manufacturing and training facilities. Canada also played a substantial role in the development of the United Nation's International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which facilitates international and domestic air travel within all member States.
Off the beaten trail in the heart of Mimico. A little reminder of war's past.
Beautiful and never crowded. Great spot for a picnic date or a nap on the grass. Wish Ottawa had more serene spaces like this one. Haven't tried it yet, but I imagine it isn't a bad spot for viewing fireworks from Parliament as long as you're in front of the monument. Even when there isn't fireworks, the view is great. I recommend going at dusk when the sky is orange and violet and the waters are calm.
The Royal Canadian Navy Monument is a small memorial park located at Richmond Landing, next to the Ottawa River in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It commemorates the men and women who have served or are currently serving in the Royal Canadian Navy.

Nice. Reverend.
Beautiful little monument to the Royal Canadian Navy with the name of every ship used in the navy from 1910 to 2010 engraved in stone. Very peaceful little spot to just sit and get a great view of Ottawa over the river

Beautiful memorial
A beautiful monument at nighttime. If you find yourself at the Mill St Brew Pub, it's a 3 minute walk (through parking lot/under the portage bridge). The monument is situated in Richmond Landing which the NCC prettied up for 150 celebrations. It's very serene, with large rocks which act as benches to view the Ottawa River, Peace Tower, Supreme Court, and other buildings from a totally different vantage point.
at Kew Gardens,Toronto .
In honor of those who served.

A beautiful tribute to the members of the air force who died without graves during World War 2.
