Lots of faeces on the ground. Every step had to be carefully taken. Had to leave after a few minutes. My puppy's toy was covered in faeces.

Nice trails found in multiple directions. Nothing too hard to walk.
Lots of room, beautiful surroundings. Doggie heaven.
Beach is a bit rocky whilst getting in the water, but once in it is easy to keep your feet up and float above the rocks(: Sat near a creek and enjoyed a picnic. Quiet and peaceful.
Great dog park so many friendly people and dogs!!
Great place for open park gatherings..with wide open parking space for early birds😅 restroom is not for the weak hearted..great things to do there..its a dog friendly park but please bring your poop scooper😶
I was there Thursday a.m. early Sep. and it was very quiet. The washrooms were still open which is awesome. There was a bit of an odour in the air, but otherwise I enjoyed the peace while reading my book.

Lakeside park has a nice hike org, water park, bathrooms. Although one of the sinks wasn’t working properly in the women’s washroom. Still, it was pretty clean. Quite busy. Nice waterfront, grass and treed area. And connects up with the waterfront trail.

A nice park with multiple playgrounds (I could count 3 of them but maybe there are more). One of the playground is accessible to kids with disabilities.
The park has multiple paths that are great if you want to go on a walk, cycle or just stroll around.

I absolutely love this dog park! The spacious layout is perfect for my furry friend to run, play, and socialize. The ample space ensures a fantastic experience for both large and small dogs. It's clean, well-maintained, and the separate areas for different sizes are a thoughtful touch. My pup's tail wags with excitement every time we visit. If you're a dog owner looking for a wonderful space to let your fur baby roam, this park is a gem!

Great park for families. There are grasses suitable for flying kites or playing soccer. There is a playground and a splash park for kids. Also, bringing a BBQ and cooking is a common activity in the park. You can find a free parking lot if you get there early enough.

Such a lovely place with that superb view above the hill. Lots of space on grass to roam or play and benches to gather with friends and family. It gets very dark around sunset though as there are few to no lamps.
It’s reasonable-sized, fenced dog park. But since there are no lights, it may get very dark after sunset. The park isn't regularly maintained. The dogs have dug a lot of holes and puddles when playing, which can occasionally be problematic for energetic dogs. The park isn't regularly mowed, and occasionally dog waste is left lying around in the grass, which is not only disgusting but unhygienic for other pets.
It was a beautiful place to travel with kids and enjoy some sun with the beach view. There are so many trails to venture into and a calming sunset to end the day with. However the washroom facilities aren't maintained well so it is hard to enjoy to the fullest.

Best dog park in the city by far. Open, water, trails. Can't ask for a better place to spend some time with your furry friends!

Large playground for smaller and bigger kids. Small splash pad, and lots of shaded spaces for picnics.

Nice park. Fairly well maintained. Washrooms are reasonable so far. Nice playground and splash pad area all concrete, though, and not as nice as Lakefront Promenade Park's splash pad. Nice paved pathways for a stroll and wheelchairs. Bikes and scooters permitted. Ice cream truck stops by quite often. Plus an off-leash fenced-in dog park. So entire family covered!

It’s a very nice clean dog park. Has a fenced in enclosure for small dogs and one for large dogs. Poop bags provided. There is also a play area for kids.
No access to water, must bring drinking water for dogs. You can get free township water up the road on Balm Beach Road if you have a container. 😊
Not too busy which is nice. Although wish people picked up up after their dogs more.

A beautiful park in the middle of the city, lots of nice picnic areas for groups and families in open green space. Parking is very limited for busy summer events. Community Centre has great facilities for events and washrooms.
We spent the day at the park. It's nice that the park provides an area for your pets to swim and play. The dogs don't mind the rocks but if you want to join them you may not like so much.

Very nice park. Kids had lots of fun going there.
The view of the lake is so relaxing.
Also there were many people flying kites! It was amazing to see all those kites while relaxing at the lake side

Mixed results with this dog park. Sometimes, there are dogs with owners who clearly haven't socialized their dogs, and you have to deal with aggressive dogs and aggressive dog owners. As with all dog parks, look to make see who is there and check to see if the dogs are behaving well. Stay away if you see any red flags.

if early enough, there's alot of parking, nice paths, area for kids, and benches with a view
Awenda Provincial Park is a hidden gem that offers charming picnic spots and a delightful camping experience. Despite its smaller size, this park is full of surprises and natural beauty.

The park boasts multiple picturesque beaches, each with its own unique appeal. These smaller, intimate beaches provide a peaceful setting for picnics. You can enjoy your meal with the soothing sound of waves and the breathtaking views as your backdrop. The picnic spots are conveniently located near the beaches, making it easy to access the sand and water.

If you're looking to extend your stay, Awenda Provincial Park also offers a cozy camping site. Although smaller in scale, the campsite provides the essential amenities you need for a comfortable outdoor adventure. Clean facilities, showers, and fire pits are available, allowing you to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the park. Fall asleep under a starlit sky and wake up to the sounds of nature surrounding you.

Despite its smaller size, Awenda Provincial Park has a unique charm that sets it apart. The intimate atmosphere creates a peaceful ambiance, ideal for those seeking a quiet retreat. The park staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant experience for visitors.

Overall, Awenda Provincial Park may be smaller, but it offers a delightful escape for picnics and camping. Explore its charming picnic spots, unwind at the serene beaches, and enjoy a cozy camping experience amidst nature's beauty.

This is a really nice park to visit. The people there are super nice and all the dogs we have encountered are really friendly. The owners pay attention to their dogs which is nice since you don't always see that at other parks. This park has water taps so there is fresh water for the dogs to drink. The area around the park is also a nice area for the dogs to visit and have a sniff
Beautiful park clean but there is no poop bags distributor so some people doesn't take the time to look after their dog.
What an amazing dog park! Absolutely huge - you can go on an hour long walk through the woods. Trash bins conveniently located throughout.

I've also never been to a park frequented by so many well-behaved dogs! First time I've been to any off-leash park and not witnessed issues with problematic dogs. Very refreshing for a change!

Nice big fenced in dog park. Lots of chairs and water dishes.

Be aware that the 1st gate to the double gated entrance doesn’t close. The lift lock is installed backwards. The second does close.

Lots of dog walkers here for all hours of the day... Ensuring many dogs available to play with yours. Has a waterfountain and is quite clean. I go here quite often with my dog.
Beautiful place to visit in summer…

Visit: April 2023

I randomly found Patricia Ravine Trail and it was surprisingly beautiful! It's under 10 minutes away from WEM.

Upon initial arrival, it was a bit odd because you can see some very expensive houses on one side, contrasted by the overwhelming nature on the other side.

There are a lot of different trails you can take from arrival, and I had only gone down one of the paths that went toward the river. There was a cool firepit and some nice areas to hang out along the trail with some logs for sitting. You can also see the footbridge from the river too!

This was a bit before the flowers and trees have come back alive after winter but it was still really nice. I was able to capture the ice breaking and flowing down the river too! I definitely need to come back again when it's spring/summer!

Highly recommend for a nice hike, I would say it's a bit higher than some beginner trails because of some of the steep hills (like the initial hill leading to the trail).

This is a fenced dog park. I like this one in the neighborhood best because there is usually an abundance of dogs. However when it is wet out there is a huge puddle in the middle and people avoid the park. It's a poor design by the city. People will go to the tennis courts next door and let their dogs off leash when the puddle is active lol

It's a nice little park tucked in upper beaches.
Happy to have a dog park in the area.

But no lights enlighting the park which is very bad when it s the night at 4.30pm in winter.
Several entries but no bricks to avoid being in the mud. No water if dogs are thirsty
There are parking slots around
2 benchs. No game equipment. No threes to give shade

A large repurposed baseball field now dog park for large dogs with one beside it for small dogs. There's no water supply so bring some. There is a box there with poop bags, we appreciate that convenience, just make sure we use it and don't leave messes behind. The tall red pines on the west fence provides great shade in the afternoon. Beside the two dog parks there is a childrens play ground, so parents and babysitters can get a far bit of use from one spot that then allows quick access back to the beach after playing for there lil tykes.
No water supply and no trees in the ball park itself are the only downsides to this beautiful park. Thanks CBO management.
My favourite city park for dogs. 3 lovely walking trails to explore. Lots of room, nice friendly folks. Make sure to check out the sculptures at the end of the top trail.
Great dog park! In the summer they have small pools to play around with! And theres a lot of drinking water and bowls!
Fantastic dog park. Separated into 3 parts. Large dogs, small dogs and kids play ground. People seem to obey the park rules eith no issues, are very friendly and dog conscious about there own and others. Its my new favorite spot for my 2 monsters!
Best dog park in the country
It is good for a walk and if you come up the way,
you can see a place with a great view.😆

Just a warning that the wading pool closes much earlier than advertised and the playground is under construction and non existent currently. The dog park is fully enclosed and functional though!
Really nice provincial parks. The trails are fairly easy to walk with quite a few listed. There is canoeing here. Nice beach areas as well as a dog beach. Does require a park pass which is about $15 for the day.
We camped at the Awenda Provincial Park for 3 days and visited this pet beach every single day during the camping 😁
This beach is definitely the best one of the pet beaches. Sandy and rocky at the same time, the water is not that deep which is really good for pets and kids as well for sure.
The pet beach is long enough so that we was able to stay away from other visitors.
I loved kind of clean lake and well maintained path. Will visit here again!
Great place to walk the pooch. Lots of shaded areas. Bring water for the pooch. The river is an additional 10 mins away.
The condition of this park does not even deserve one star. It is extremely under maintained unsafe, especially for those of us who bring our dogs to a fenced-in area because they are runners. No matter what the season is, those gates need to be fixed so they are properly operational
One of our favourite dog parks. Tons of space for the doggos to run around off-leash. Lots of friendly people and the majority of the dogs are well-trained. Our dogs love it!
Great dog park for the area, and everyone's always friendly (dogs AND people).

Only downside: there's only one double-gate so every now and then someone opens the single and everyone has a scare.

We walk here quite often. I love how it feels like your not even in the city taking this trail. There are a couple steep places however. If walking in winter it might be a good idea to be ready for steep and icy areas.
Very small. 3 entrances - but only one double gated - the other 2 were not and was the side of the road. Because of the small area - the dogs were never far from people coming in the two gates not double gated - very unsafe. There are no trees - important for shade in summer. It was totally bare of anything - no bushes, zero point of interest for the dogs and zero ways of having a quiet moment if they need a break...even for the people it has no interest . A small area in between 2 baseball diamonds with NO netting - if this was a kids' park, there would be netting, trees, landscape. three areas the fence was quite low (it looks like they ran out of the fence and just put something up - not as high as the regular fencing. No signs to get to the gate -- luckily, there were tracks in the snow to lead me to the gate. For some unbeknown reason, the double gate area had 2 gates! make sure check it is closed properly before letting dog off. The bare minimum has been given to this area that has dogs off leashed. Dog owners pay same tax as kid "owners": we all a should be served by the city.
Nice trail. Too bad the city government closed the easy access for general public by changing parking rules in the area.
I love walking along the river. This is a great place to go when you need to get away from the rat race and spend time with nature.
My pooch had a hell of a time at this park. Very nice neighborhood. 2-4 Water bowls and a fresh water tap for pups to cool down on hot days. Plenty of room to run and play.

Nice wide paths and lots of little trails that lead to the river.
Very slippery in the winter but lots of fun.
What a great dog park! The people are so friendly, and there are some nice mature trees for shade. Fencing is high, excellent if you’ve got a dog who’s also part frog. Looking forward to our next trip.

We do come here every year now that we camp with our dogs. Being visitors to this park, I suppose we have different expectations than the locals. It is a nice and large park with two enclosures. Please remember to bring water for your dog. Water dishes have been left by others but do need to be filled. There is diversity in the terrain-- gravel, sand, grass. I like to judge a dog park by the people who frequent the grounds. The regulars were accommodating and friendly.
Nice place to socialise the dog...

There is no shade so I recommend coming in the evenings...

There is plenty of water available (jugs)

Lots of tennis balls available
Love the location, and lovely friendly dogs and people that go here! But they doubled fenced the wrong side! There is also no shade or picnic tables, and nowhere to fill up water bottles or bowls :/
great location. it needs to open the bike path side and they need double fences on the other doors. and a water fountain would be glorious
Great trail as part of the river valley trail system. There is great variety in the trail elevation for a good workout if you want or take a leisurely stroll whatever you desire. This is part of a larger ravine trail. So get out and enjoy nature at its best with a friend or a loved one. There is no washroom facilities available.
I drive from Huntsville to go to this dog park. It is a bit muddy in the spring but it is a great open space and the dogs have a good time! I will also say the people that use the park are responsible and for the most part pick up after their dogs!
This is a great place to let the dog run free, get in a good long walk with many trails and paths to chart your own course, and reconnect with nature. Spring time is a little bit tricky navigating the potholes in the parking lot and the mud bogs along the trails but as long as your prepared for the fact that you and your dog will come away from there with a few extra layers of nature's bounty on you, you will thoroughly enjoy the park.

The trails are diverse; they can be rugged, easy peasy but peaceful most of the time, and in many parts of the ravine. The views are breathtaking! I was there today, again the trail I hiked, and I only came across one mountain biker. It is one of the best peaceful places.

Good large area ,sand and dirt no grass. Did not bother the dog but my shoes were filthy. Would not go there when ground is wet
This is such a beautiful large park with lots of space to run and explore.
A walk with a little variety, some formal garden features, woods with a wide variety of trees, open grass (or snow), and wooded valleys.
Don't tell anyone about this place
It's horrible
Your dog will be eaten by squirrels
I love the park however you still have irresponsible dog owners that leave their dogs poop without picking it up. Just because I own a dog also does not mean I like others dogs jumping on my kids. Take responsibility folks. Leaving dog crappie all over the park is not being responsible. Your all just as disgusting as your dogs poop cause you can't take the 30 Seconds 's to pick it up.

Great park, large dog enclosure an small dog inclosure, a swing for kids an lots of grass space to play. Definately worth a visit.
We really appreciate this dog park! Virtually everyone we have encountered during the past 3 years or regular visits are courteous, friendly and responsible pet owners. Vast open spaces and separate areas for small dogs and big dogs are appreciated. Seating is available as are dishes for water (we fill them at the pond just outside the fenced in area.) Only downsides are a) mud in spring and b) irresponsible visitors who don't pick up after Fido. Thankfully many of the regulars do a little extra to help keep it clean for everyone. Thank you!

It's still there and still beautiful. A perfect place for your little ones to play with a nice playground. It also has a baseball diamond, hiking trails!, and dog park. Very secluded and private little park. Great for picnics too 😎

I grew up in balm beach and when my brothers and I were kids our parents would take us to CBO park. At that time is was all but forgotten about so we were the only people there. It was so much fun!
My Brother and his family recently went for a visit and took my Nephew to the park! He had just as much fun as we did!

A must visit

Great place. We found this place through some friends advice. We had previously taken our bull terrier to a pvt dog park but this local public dog park is a great find. Double entrance gates that are well maintained and a full metal high fence. Love this find and can’t wait to go back and meet new friends. There is a small and large park side that is separated. We have a small but bulky (60lbs) pup so we don’t mind her kicking it with the big dogs. But for someone that has small dos they don’t have to play with the big pups. Keepnup the good work.
