A lot of green space and nice views of the river. I wish Google maps would show location of picnic tables.
Location has double gates which are great for safety and provide opportunities to unleash your dog. Park is small and only has a single entrance that is difficult to find if it's your first time there. Owners, in my experience, are slightly standoffish and feared my dog slightly(super friendly large breed) and lifted their pets away from her.
It's decent in the mornings with the professional dog walkers and their pack there. All of the dogs are well-behaved. It's a hit and miss in the afternoon/evenings with some dog owners with unruly K9s. Otherwise, the park is large with nice grass for my dog to enjoy.

There aren't a lot of fully fenced dog parks, so I was very excited to come here! Even though there isn't any shade, it's a nice space. Note the fence is only 3-4 ft high - my husky was able to jump over the fence and chase a rabbit in the parking lot. 😂
Nice dog park but it isn’t really for small dogs as stated in previous comments (totally understandable tho since it’s not specifically for small dogs) just thought I would mention it for small dog owners.

The park is a serene oasis nestled in the heart of the city, offering a peaceful retreat from the urban hustle and bustle. With its lush greenery, well-maintained walking paths, and picturesque landscapes, it's a perfect destination for nature enthusiasts and families alike.

The park's thoughtful design includes a variety of amenities, from playgrounds and picnic areas to scenic viewpoints that provide breathtaking vistas of the surrounding area. Whether you're looking for a place to relax with a good book, enjoy a leisurely stroll, or engage in outdoor activities, this park has something for everyone.

One of the highlights is the beautifully landscaped gardens that showcase a vibrant display of seasonal flowers and plants. These gardens not only add to the park's charm but also provide a habitat for local wildlife, creating a harmonious environment that feels connected to nature.

During my visit, I noticed the park's commitment to sustainability, with recycling bins conveniently placed throughout the area and an emphasis on preserving the natural habitat. The presence of well-maintained restroom facilities and water fountains further enhances the visitor experience.

However, it's worth noting that on weekends, the park can get quite busy, which might limit the overall tranquility. Additionally, while the park staff does an excellent job of keeping the grounds clean, some areas could benefit from more frequent maintenance.

In conclusion, this park offers a wonderful escape from the urban landscape, providing a perfect balance of relaxation, recreation, and natural beauty. Whether you're seeking solitude or quality time with loved ones, the park's inviting atmosphere makes it a must-visit destination for anyone looking to reconnect with nature in the heart of the city.

Came on a Sunday afternoon. Zero other dogs + all gravel! Not even basketball or tennis courts in use; basically no one to be seen in the park period! If you're looking for something super quiet, come here. We won't be back.
If you are a dog lover, bring your dog there. Always a group of playful dogs and owners. A wonderful place to go to let your dog run freely and have great conversations with the other owners. What else can I say. Go check it out. Wish there were more doggie parks to go to.

I walk my dog there several times a week.
This dog park is fantastic and usually busy in the evenings and weekends. However, big dog owners need to be more mindful. I saw a scary incident the other day where a dog jumped over the fence and ran onto the road, but luckily the driver stopped in time. Unfortunately, the car behind got rear-ended. The dog made it back to the park safely, but it was visibly scared. I urge everyone to be cautious at all times. The park has a lovely gazebo and some benches to chat with other owners, but please stay conscious about your dog's actions. Safety comes first!
Just moved in the area and I’m glad to have dog parks nearby. Not too many fur babies everytime we go for my dog to play with, but it’s a no-brainer coz there is a trail just beside the dog park where we can go for a long walkies. There’s no water source in the park, so remember to bring your own.

This place is completely locked off.
Great size dog park, clean and large! Main downfall is there are only pebble areas and no grass or mulch. My dog doesn't like running around or playing in it to much so we don't go often.
This park and off leash dog park is beautiful. The dog park needs maintenance as the wood chips need to be replaced or more added (however one maintains a wood chip dog park) as many dogs have dug holes for their bones 😉 but it's still a great park. Large space and lots of furry friends in this popular spot. Always get a parking spot. This feels like a hidden gem to me.
Nice park for dogs. A few places to sit, shade for the dogs and lights for night time

Perfectly sized dog park (not too big, not too small), with grass as the terrain. Generally there are 4-6 dogs in the park after 5pm, and there is a covered pavilion with benches to sit. Would recommend!

Big area for dogs to read run. But I've stopped going there. Too many large intact male dogs that try to hump your dog and inconsiderate owners that are unable to control their dog.
If u like a challenging hike through steep hills and muddy terrain this is the place for you! Also they have an amazing view of the cliffs… which you can climb up if your brave enough

It was a peaceful place to do birdwatching. I even found many wildlife like the amerjcsn red squirrel. Unfortunatrly it rained heavily. If not, I would have spend longer time there. There are dog owners there too.
Nice little park.
People are generally friendly.
Only downside is no water fountain.

This is a nice accessible small park near the STC. There is free car parking after 6pm and weekends. There is a good amount of park benches to relax and have Timmies. Plenty of condos nearby and people bring there dogs to the gated dog park which is an awesome sight to watch. There are some artistic structures all around which adds a flare to the ambiance. The park is well maintained in summers. You would not be walk around this park as the pathway ends up at Lawrence but you can walk around the whole community which appears pretty nice. We tried walking around ignoring the bumpy landscape and disappointed to find beer bottles and cigarette joints underneath the park benches in the shade. If you are bringing your dog or plan to watch dogs, this is a definite recommend.

Came by to add a piece to the legal graffiti wall, got harassed for well over an hour.
Don't recommend painting unless you're part of the "underground community" and get permission to paint around people's work.

Nice open offleash. Can find it empty at times like this morning. Much better than most of the other local offleashes

I love going here. Always clean, very inviting. Beautiful views. Awesome playground. A very Happy place!
Really nice gated dog park with friendly dogs, free parking and a view of the water if you wanted to walk. There is no water/pipe in the dog park however, for the animals.
This is a great idea and conveniently located. HOWEVER Keep an eye out for a family with three huskies. My dog suzie is a little nervous as she has only been with her sister which passed in January. We have been bringing Suzie to the park since her passing so that she can make new friends and get used to other dogs (which has been slowly working until now). Suzie can bark and snap to warm when other big dogs get in her face but has never attacked another dog and other dogs have been nice to her.........untill today when the husky attacked her. She was petrified. When we finally got the dog off and we're leaving, we found out this is not the first time and the owner blamed us for provoking his dog. What a peice of work.
Beautiful park to let your pups run and have fun
Excellent place to take our dog, not just flat and treeless. Our pup has made a bunch of friends there
Nice accessible dog park. The proximity to 2 baseball diamonds keeps it well lit in the summer. Lots of places around to walk your furry friend.
Large playground for dogs. It even has large flat rocks where you can train your dogs. The minor downside is it's just pebbles there. Sometimes the puppies can get dry and cracked paws because of this. But overall it's a good park.
Great place for a dog obviously it's is in the name , It's really nice park in the summer time I feel that the Winter it's a little bit Gray because of this salt from the streets that's close by overall park it's a great place for the dogs and the owners just to get out in the good city air.
Great place to bring an energetic and playful pup. Large majority of dogs are friendly, owners are responsible. There are a few grass patches in the back but it is mostly dirt so be prepared for a dirty dog post play.

Great dog park. Always tons of dogs on the weekend and usually at least one or two most nights of the week. Definitely my go to dog park.
Good place to come with your dog. Pretty big area and there is dog bowls to use if you have water for your dog. Dog owners are usually chill and most do pick up after their dogs.

HORRIBLE LOCATION..NO PARKING AND MY MOMS DOG CAME HOME WITH BURRS IN HER FUR...VERY UNHAPPY AND DISAPPOINTED WITH THE UPKEEP AND MAINTENANCE OF THIS PARK. WHOSE GONNA PAY FOR MY MOMS DOG TO GET GROOMED TO GET THE BURRS OUT.???
Great pRk with running water to keep your dog hydrated!
Well maintained dog park. Two double gated entrances, decent size, mix of grass and wood mulch. Our Saluki found it a great place to run and meet new friends. Several benches and a dog water fountain.
Always wonderful to visit. Owners and dogs so friendly. Lots of space for run and play. Does get quite muddy in spring and on rainy days and recommend cleats for winter as snow packs down hard and slippery most days.

Decent dog park - frequenters are very friendly.

However, a lot of the park is covered in concrete, making it hard for dogs to play comfortably. There is only one bench in a non shaded area of the park. People generally don’t spend much time there as there isn’t much leisure space.

Recommendations: add one or two more durable benches across the park - and remove some of the left over concrete. The space is trying to be 3 things simultaneously and as a result does all of them poorly.
Great place to bring the dog. Other owners are respectful and bags are available if needed. I haven't been there while a game is happening on the adjacent field, I know my dog might find that distracting or possibly scary depending on the size of the crowd.

Friendly and safe setting - has a clear, but open, community established. There are no clear/obvious spots dogs can sneak out through the fence.
A pretty large park for with a nice fenced in area for your pup, also a good water supply at the roofed pavilion with seating.
There are some people that use trails, dog parks, and school yards as their dogs toilet without cleaning up after them. It's hard to keep up with their laziness, but there's a few good souls who keep trying, and we say "thank you" to those who set a good example. 👍We all need to do this.
Great park to let your dog run around and socialize with other dogs at. Gets pretty busy around 4pm on weekends. There's also a nice big open field in the vicinity.

Great dog park close the city. Lots of parking, and dogs off leash including walking trails in the forest to discover and a big stream in the woods for dogs to bathe in. Bring your big repellant and be mindful of ticks. It gets fun and busy for dogs after 4pm weekdays otherwise its not too busy. Friendly people too.
Lots of free parking beside the dog park. There is a dog water fountain , so no need to pack a water bottle. Nice area for the dogs to play and have fun
Always fun and friendly dogs and people here. Responsible owners which makes sure nothing happens. All dogs welcome. Big and small. And a nice little walk too
Great place.
An entire overlook on the entire park so you can always see your furry friend, while also walking through for exercise.
Some weirdos at times though who tell you how to dog your dog. No one likes them.

Neighbourhood dog park. Not large. Neighbours and neighbour doggoes always great to visit with.
For an urban setting, this is a nice, fenced-in dog park. The dogs have a decent amount of space to play and explore. The owners that frequent this dog park tend to spark casual conversation. I removed a star because the park is mostly covered in gravel and dirt, which is less than ideal for a rainy day.

Enclosed grassy area with a couple picnic tables and benches. Its typically a decent place to take your dog to play.

There is very little shade, no water or clean up access. As with any off-leash park there are times when unsocialized dogs are left to harass other dogs without owner intervention but it hasn't been particularly common.

This place is great, they divide the park into 2 sections. They have a side for dogs 20lbs and up and a section for dogs 20lbs and under. I have a smaller dog who has difficulties socializing with bigger dogs so this works perfectly.

My dog and I both give this park 5 paws up. Nice enclosed area and usually always other dogs inside. Access from the McNab park and from the street without having to enter the park.

Your dog will thank you for bringing them here
I love this dog park and I highly recommend it! Super convenient and close to home. It's the first time that I go to a dog park where you can bring a ball/Frisbee and there's no fight: dogs are all playing/running together. My only concern is that it would be great to eventually have grass everywhere instead of asphalt. Also, a double door would be better for dogs safety :) I understand that this area used to be a basketball court but it seems that it was never fully converted to a normal dog park.

This dog park is great! There's 2 gated entry so pooch's don't accidentally slip out, they have poop bags in case you forgot one, garbage bins for poop and water dishes for the hot days.
So far most of our experiences here have been very pleasant, the owners have been very nice and the dogs playful and fun.
There have been a few times where unsocialized or slightly aggressive dogs have been at the park. We always leave immediately to avoid any issues if this is the case, and usually other owners follow suit. However usually our visits are very fun, entertaining and tiring for the doggo!
It can get very muddy in the spring and early winter so wear rubber boots then, on the other hand in the winter it can get really icy, so wear spikes or walk very carefully!!

Came here a few times, a mix of weekdays and weekend mornings. Morning is quiet and only has 1-2 other dogs. Good training time! Some dog walkers bring their dogs here on the weekdays and some of them don't pick up after the dogs.

The fence is low for dogs that have a flight risk, so beware. My dog did jump over but we got him back 😂

Hidden gem for dog walkers. It's open all night on the weekdays. And 24 hours on weekends.

Nice big open space for the dogs to run! Plus, solar lights for evening session in the fall/winter is amazing - I wish more dog parks had this. It would be nice if there was a bin for poop bags inside the park area and not outside by the parking though!

A nice local neighborhood park that brings out lots of friebdly local pet owners for the most part. It's off leash so you're little friend can get a good chance to meet other little friends too. Plus there's a play park and water fountain next to it the little humans need entertainment too :)
Great spot! Loved the watering gazebo

This is not a dog park, it's neighborhood green space where you can let your dog off leash of you feel comfortable. There is very little open space for dogs to run around, with many trees, benches and other obstacles, not to mention a playground which takes up a lot of room in the same park where dogs are not allowed within 5 meters of. This park is also very small, with the deepest point being no more than 50 meters away from a road so if your dog gets distracted and runs a little too far it is very likely they could end up in the middle of a busy street as there are no fences or gates to keep them in. Not a good place for dogs at all, if you don't live right next door don't bother with this park, it isn't worth your time.

Almost all the owners and dogs who visit are well mannered and clean up after themselves. There may be a few poorly trained dogs and owners who don't address the situation properly but they don't stop by regularly so it's not much of an issue.

It's a nice fully fenced in dog park with half concrete, half weeds, and a bit of dirt. When it rains it can get a bit messy though.

Update: the park now has full accessible paved paths - such a help! A lovely setting to enjoy some free time. The dog park is a nice size - large enough to run and frolic. 🙂

Features: dog park, picnic tables. Nearby is a public library, STC shopping mall, Albert Campbell public square, Scarborough Civic Center, and STC RT subway. TTC bus York Mills 95. Parking on Borough Drive.

Dog park... Not many dog actually... Been here twice and both times its been mostly empty.

But there is a fountain with water for the dogs bring ur own bowl. Ground is covered with pebbles (small rocks).

There is a volleyball field here (bring ur own net and ball), a really nice basketball court, also a beautiful tennis court. Huge field for soccer or a picnic.

Overall 5 stars. Really quiet not many people.
Not available during the day - only after 6 pm. Wish it had lighting for night time visits

Great small park. Lots of space for the dogs to run around. Some seating for owners. Lots of regulars around supper time. Mostly smaller dogs, which is nice for mine. Aside from supper time, come any other time and you are likely to have the park to yourself! All grass in the summer, bit muddy right now in spring. A few picnic tables outside the gated dog park. And free weekend street parking.

Only downside is, some smoke and leave their buds inside the dog park, and some (the lesser few) don't pick up after their dogs. Otherwise a fun spot for the dogs!

A great space to let your dog run off leash. There are often other dogs to play with. Owners are good about picking up poop. There is an easy access point to the river for dogs that like to swim.
Cleaner than many of the other off-leash dog parks in Scarborough. Fellow dog owners are respectful and I've never had any issues here.

There's enough seating in and out of the gated area and parking is close by. Great place for your pup to run around and meet other dogs!
This is our week-days park ! We’ve built great report with other owners and dogs, Zelda now many friends there ! It’s nothing crazy, just a good place for our dog to run everyday.

I don’t own a pet dog but from the looks of it I certainly would bring my puppy there for sure! It’s a roomy and scenic environment for the furry little creatures to run around in. They seem pretty happy there amongst their own kind ☺️🤣👍
Its okay. Its fully fenced and has one bench to sit down but no garbage inside the park, but there is two outside the gate. I wish there wasn't such a big cement area which takes up about half of the park so the dogs don't have to run on cement.

We like taking our dogs here whenever we are around the area. Well fenced area with water bowls and bags available for use.
The site is always clean and well maintained.
Owners and dogs are nice and respectful. Our pups love it here because of the traffic of people and the amount of dogs that come to the park!
Great little spot to take your pup for an enclosed romp. Plenty of dogs from the neighbourhood and their humans meet up here for some social time. After being shut down for two months, luscious green grass has grown all around. If you're dog bolts be warned that there is an opening under the fenced door. Witnessed a dog make an escape the other day.

The BEST dog park I have ever been to! I cannot believe the property is a donation. It is breathtaking and enormous. The dog owners that we saw were super friendly and awesome. Can’t wait to go back!
I have a very young excitable boxador & when we arrived here & my dog seen other dogs there to play with, she got totally riled up. As we entered the park, every owner leashed up their dogs & left abruptly. I was under the assumption that dog parks were provided to socialize our dogs to allow them to burn off energy, get to know other dogs & allow them the chance to run around free to explore where they choose.
The park has plenty of dogs, friendly and playful ones. The park is %100 pebbles and plenty of dogs hate running on them. There is a drinking fountain for dogs. The reason for the low rating is, owners do not pick up after their dogs. There is poop everywhere. It is a big off leash with two separate areas for big and small dogs.

MASSIVE!! AND NOT LOCKED!!

Huge closed-off grassy area for dogs to run around and play! My dog loved running around to sniff all the trees. The area was built for the Toronto Animal Services hence why it isn't open 24/7, otherwise it is open at the times listed above. There is garbage and recycling bin at the entrance area.

The only "con" I would note is that the public entrance requires a bit of force to open as it appears to get stuck.

I got in by pushing on the latch bolt then pushing the door in (I thought it was locked for the longest time, just use some strength!)
Good size park for my Great Dane puppy. She loves it there. People are pretty good at cleaning up after their dogs and keep a good eye on them. I wish there was a water supply near for my pup (especially in the summer months) and maybe some more grass. The gravel is hard on her feet. The Aylmer dog park is much nicer in my opinion. This park is my second fav so far. (not the best pic of my pup lol but gets a good view of the park) All fenced in.

Cool place. We were driving thru and had to make a stop to the park. Nice wall. Enough fenced in room to exercise your dog and even play frisbee...
I love this park. It is very well kept with many bowls that you can fill with water and large water bottles (I have no idea who fills them but huge thanks to those people!). There is double doors which is super important for me! I live closer to Hampton park but it's got single doors so every time a new dog comes in I always get scared that my dog can escape. But I dont have that fear anymore, and I am willing to drive a bit extra because of ti.
I love the location too! I would go with my partner and one of us would stay and watch our dog and the other would go and get coffee from the Lansdowne market/ Aroma. And there is a comfy little table to sit at and relax.
On the minus side- I would expect for more dogs to be there for the location and parking can be very tricky in the area.
But overall I am super happy with it! It is, in my opinion, the best dog park in Ottawa. Now I hope my positive review brings in more dogs ;)

Considering where it is, it's a decent sized space with a fair amount of grass and the fence appears well maintained, (it's not loose or falling down in places and there aren't any holes in or under it that I've seen).

It's pretty clean too!
There are 2 large garbage cans and the majority of people who use the park are good enough to pick up after their dogs & throw any garbage in the bins..
The majority of dogs that are taken here are quite friendly and well behaved also, it makes for a nice little place to take your dog for some exercise and socialization.
